“Absolutely inappropriate service. Delivery guy just throw the parcel over the wall to deliver the parcel to the basement flat. Thanks got nobody was standing in the yard.
After seeing me writing down the plate number of his van he pop up and told that he supposed that all doors are closed. wow, genuinely amazing excuse.
Great service!!!! Royal Mail works hard for their reputation!”
“Paid for RM Special Delivery Guaranteed Next Day by 1 pm.
Package lost en route (I have full tracking data). I paid extra for additional cover because the item was high value.
Nobody told me the package was missing until the recipient told me it hadn’t arrived.
RM took a relaxed view of the whole thing from the start.
Had a number of difficult phone calls with totally unhelpful RM staff. One telling me they had 30 days to try to find it. Another laughed when I told her the value of the item and said I should have sent it via courier.
No attempt by RM to keep me informed alas to progress, keeping me completely in the dark.
Disgraceful ineptitude and arrogant manner.”
“Put a claim in with Royal Mail as they lost a parcel (we are a business) the claim procedure was pathetic and they would only consider the claim if we had proof of what the lost items were worth i.e what they cost us to buy and manufacture including labour costs and we had to provide proof with invoices etc.....what a load of rubbish! they could work out a percentage of our retail cost and refund us. This is just a ploy to avoid paying out any claims. Royal Mail you are a disgrace!!!”
“the royal delivery guy, persistently banged the letter box and pressed the bell whilst my 12 year old was at home frightening her. as i told her not to open the door the guy proceeded to angrily force an envelope through the letter box which then ripped.”
“Postman attempted to deliver my item 2 days before scheduled delivery (paid extra for it) didn't bother knocking so none heard despite that people were at home. The item was supposed to be 18th birthday gift so it was important it arrived on time. After calling customer service I was told it could only be redelivered in 2 working days. So because 1st attempt was on Saturday redelivery would happen on Tuesday (so after the birthday) . What an absolute load of.... As the local royal mail center worked on Sunday so it could be easily delivered on Monday... After calling the local RM center I was told I shouldn't worry and was assured the gift would be delivered on Monday. Well IT WAS Not! the postman came with mail but not the package. Called the local RM, staff couldn't locate my package using tracking number... Then I was told that the item will be delivered later in the day by a 'manager postman'. I don't know about your experience but I for a fact know postman doesn't come twice a day!! Which means I was lied to, straight in my face by a woman who just wanted rid of me. I' ve made over 30 calls after that, none picked up. The tracking service online has been down so I have no clue where my parcel is. Customer service was of absolute no help as upon calling them they were not able to track my item either... The system has been down since 10 am. WHAT THE ACTUAL F***???!!! You call this a 21st century postal service?! Delivering when it suits you, postman who can't be bothered knocking, staff making promises they can't keep, staff not being able to locate your parcel, staff telling lies to get rid of customers, offices that don't pick up phones and finally no tracking available!!!!!!!!! Rethink your business RM”
“As like many other unfortunate people on here I foolishly and naively sent a parcel via special next day signed for delivery at the cost of £11.88 and as usual it seems the post office couldn't get the parcel delivered and its still not delivered.
It was sent to the wrong office in error, although it was actually very close, it then was sent to edinburgh which was miles away, the parcel only had to travel a short distance to begin with.
What idiots totally incompetent.
The parcel in question contained the keys to a holiday home and the recipients had planned a weekend break with thier kids.
Which thanks to the post office was ruined.
I was left with no one I could contact and there complaints procedure is designed to confuse.
However I will persevere with my complaint and never use these useless people again.
Be advised use a professional despatch company and avoid the post office at all costs.”
“I'm a fit 52 year old and have applied many times for the Royal Mail. In the past I struggled to pass the online assessment tasks, and was informed so by the Royal Mail. More recently however my 'failures' have been down to, "unforeseen circumstances this vacancy has now been withdrawn". On the Royal Mail website however, it states, "Sorry, this position has been filled". This has happened on my last two applications. Once a coincidence, twice something more sinister.
I can interpret this as I'm too old to be a postman but the Royal Mail don't want to incriminate themselves by saying so.”
“Have used international tracked and signed for a couple of times - DO NOT USE!!!!!! It’s a disgrace they even advertise this service - it is a joke - documents sent to South Africa took over 2 MoNTHS to arrive!!!! Recently sent an item to Portugal - after 2 weeks of little tracking information, I phoned up to find they had sent the parcel to Luxemburg!!! Another bloody country?! Parcel was due to arrive back in the UK and then they said it would take another week to get there - a TOTAL JOKE!!!!!”
“they lose on average 4 of my parcels a month - i send recorded delivery and those get lost too - ROYAL in the name is not accurate should be more like THIEVES - i sent an envelope with a gsm tracker inside it to catch royal mail out - guess what package went missing - when i tracked the package by the gsm tracker and informed them it was on site they mysteriously found it and delivered it - before this it was sitting in there sorting office for a whole month - ive also had money taken out of children's birthday cards and my new favorite one is they slice your package open and steal whatever they want and seal it back up - also if you try and claim anything back they will try there best to not compensate you - they have lost in the past year around 200 pounds worth of stuff and most compensation i have received is a book of stamps - websites and forms make it hard to complain also -”
“Sent my tracked Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed 1pm™ on 17 of. June git to Medway office on 24 June and seems to be stuck like glue because it's not been delivered today 26 June. Can one find a number to ring, not on your Nelly. Uk is becoming a third world country.”
“Sent a parcel using international tracked and signed for. Was advised by the post mistress that it would take two to three days. That was on the 17th June!
Tracking service has shown it in Torino, Italy with a “delivery partner”, who’s site is only available in Italian. The parcel has been there since Friday 21st and it’s not moved since? It was urgent and trying to find out it’s whereabouts via Royal Mail is absolutely hopeless. It needs to be lost for 20 days before they will consider it missing. Not a human to speak to. Everything needs sent recorded now since unless you do and pay for the comfort, it gets lost! Royal Mail you are a complete disgrace, should have used a proper delivery service.”
“I had a parcel shipped in around 14th May 2019 from uk to Oman, and since last 30 35 days it shows in transit!!
No other status, does not have escalations process”
“Keep getting ripped envelopes arrive. Seems more prevalent if they have come through the gatwick sorting office. They are all posted in good envelopes but all have similar tears (bottom left hand corner, a 4 - 5 mm tear down and then torn across around 50 mm)..... they are all addressed to a hotel, so I gather that postal workers think there may be money in them? It did get worse around the Christmas period but we get it on a very regular basis. Do I trust the Royal Mail...... no way!”
“Sent a first class letter within the UK as a signed-for letter.
I would expect that a first class letter be delivered within a maximum of 3 days.
However, this letter took 3 weeks and one day to arrive at the destination.
Another letter first class letter that I posted at the same time, reached its destination after 2 days.
The only difference was the signed-for option.
The UK royal mail signed-for system is a total joke.
The service is not fit for purpose, both for international and domestic signed for mail.
I made a complaint about the service by phone, email and finally by letter (yes the irony).
The best that Royal Mail could say was that they had no idea what had happened, and that I should make a formal compensation claim to get my money back.”
“Why all these bad reviews returns to Amazon Thursday Royal mail brilliant and tracked delivery's are all ways on time and friendly local postmane waits for you to answer door unlike other comps who rush off even tho I'm there I all ways use Royal mail for returns as there's loads of post offices and I'm thinking why so many negative reviews I all ways get great service”
