“Trying to contact anyone about a problem is like trying to knit fog, the website/phone numbers are designed to frustrate customers in the hope that they go away. They are worse than BT which is saying something I honestly did not believe that anyone could be worse than BT but Royal Mail have succeeded by a country mile. I hope that Mr Back reads these reviews but I suppose that he is too busy counting his 6 million salary, just how he sleeps at night is a mystery, probably very comfortably in vast mansion in Germany.”
“Been on phone 45 mins all it keeps saying sorry for delay taking the p*** a parcel i paid for should have been here last week no tracking info apart from weve got it SHOCKING SERVICE !!!!”
“Had a parcel re-delivered to a saturday when i was definitely in, i kept checking the status of the delivery and it showed as being delivered, not a knock on the door and the dog didn't even bark. i checked our porch and nothing but it shows as signed for by us. when you phone up to speak to someone they just say it was signed for by us and the gps tracking shows it was delivered to our house but we never recieved it or signed for it. not only do they not delivery your items but they also like to forge a signature to get themselves out of any sort of problems.”
“Absolutely shocking company! I’m surprised that they haven’t gone through. Ordered an item on Thursday before the next day delivery cut-off and paid £7.99 for the privilege. The parcel failed to turn up on Friday which was annoying, but I was refunded the postage by the seller. Royal Mail sent us an email saying that our delivery would be with us between 11:30 and 13:30 on Saturday, but you guessed it, it never arrived. Tracking information just stops at a main depot somewhere in Birmingham at 4am and we’re received zero information since. Their website and apps are appalling, their live chat is a robot and none of the FAQs are helpful. All avenues simply end in a sorry.
Both companies offered pitiful apologies and excuses which just isn’t good enough. To say that the delay is caused by the up-coming election and Christmas is pathetic for a delivery company! I waited on the telephone to speak to an advisor for almost an hour to simply be told that all they can do is offer their apologies! Why do you not offer emergency pick up facilities for such incidents? Surely you put actions in place to deal with busy periods?? I suggest some serious restructuring if you cannot get your primary function right! The item that we were waiting for was extremely important, I’m just glad that I wasn’t waiting for a kidney 😡 I would have given zero stars, but that’s obviously not an option.”
“Paid the customs charge rebooked for delivery. Never turned up. But when I checked the tracking they sent it back to the sender over seas the next day. Tho hours on hold no answer so gave up. Phoned the local mail centre which don’t answer calls. Still have no parcel and no further answers. A complete waste of time. The worst postal service I have ever experienced. Nothing royal about the service, the customer service, the contact is non existent. I am contacting the ombudsman as I feel this is not acceptable from any organisation. Disgusting shabby run Bussiness and needs to be investigated into how and why this is tolerated.”
“1,5 hour on phone with call service waiting in queue. Then, they inform me that the call service is ended at 6pm so my call will be terminated. 1st class parcel, yet to be delivered ... Complete joke”
“At 07.45 the letter I paid £6.60 to send by guaranteed next day delivery arrived at a Royal Mail Depot under 1 mile from the delivery address. Royal Mail then said that it had been delivered to the wrong depot and was being re routed. It’s now 16.30 and it’s not been delivered and no one knows where it is.
Same thing happened last year and it took a week to deliver. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Total inefficient and not interested in trying to help...RUBBISH!,,,”
“Absolutely disappointed, the deliverer supposedly tried to deliver the parcel, Didn’t even ring the door bell and didn’t even have the common sense to leave it with a neighbour now I have to trek to an office 1 hour and 30 mins away in order to get a parcel I urgently needed today.”
“Paid for signed and track. The tracking information has not been updated to show that my letter has left the post office. I now that it has been delivered as I have been notified by the recipient. This was my old passport that is up for renewal, so an important document. Post office you only provided half of the service that I paid for.”
“Absolutely useless. Parcel has been out for delivery for two days. Caught the postie today who was clueless and mumbled “if it’s in the van it’ll be back round in 10 mins”. An hour later and still nothing!
Been on the phone to their ‘customers service’ for the past 40 mins and still no answer.... useless ********”
“So I got a message yesterday to say my parcel would be arriving between 9:45 and 11:45. No parcel has arrived and when you track it says still in Swindon. So joe been on phone for 45 minutes and no advisor still available. What a waste of my time when I need to go out”
“Dreadful service, 2 x tracked and signed parcels sent 29th October and still says just out of customers in destination country, updates have been very sketchy. As for the customer service, it’s outrageous, automated nonsense, phones you could wait for a week to get answered if your lucky. I doubt the queen sends and loses parcels like this, think it’s time to lose the “Royal “ status.”
“My brother sent a small jiffy package to me from Newhaven to the Costa Del Sol Spain. Used Tracking service. Never got here. Their tracking said I was out. Ok you moron leave a card, no card. Phoned RM in England they hadn’t got a clue where it was. Spanish Correos said it was still in England. This my dear readers is what society has come to. Never will I use the postal service ever again.”
“Absolutely shocking service.
I called Royal Mail this afternoon regarding an issue we have had, where a padded envelope had been delivered to my Nan’s address as ‘Signed for’, yet had not been signed for by my Nan. The envelope had been post through the letter box with no mention of the fact that it had been opened and whatever was inside, removed.
I called Royal Mail to address the problem, find out who had supposedly signed for it and figure out what the next steps would be in order to retrieve what was inside the envelope, track down where the issue had occurred, find out why the parcel has a signature against it even though nobody had signed for the parcel and find out where the parcel came from.
I had been speaking to a lady who gave the name Hayley, when we asked to speak to her manager after she forgot to mute herself when remarking to another colleague “Urgh I can’t wait to get off this call”. Hayley was unable to offer us any form of solution/information on where the parcel had come from/compensation despite us missing whatever we had ordered, right in the run up Christmas.
We are waiting for a call tomorrow to discuss this with a manager and hopefully get a more helpful response other than ‘all we can do is file a complaint’ and get told that ‘on this occasion it will be dealt with internally and nobody would be getting back to you””
“CURIOUS! Unlike other courier companies that manage to ring the door bell and give me the parcel, Royal mail seem hell bent on just posting a card through the door asking you to collect the parcel?! I have been home for the 4 Royal Mail "Deliveries" when a card has simply been posted through the letter box - I know this to be true as I receive Amazon packages daily and when I answer the door to everyone else there is a Royal Mail MISSED red card lying on the door mat. The fact that I am house bound is why I know of any visitor and there is a good reason why I need things delivered to my door - If I could easily pop out to the shops (or the post office to collect what I asked to be delivered to my home) then I would! What is the point of DELIVERY when you have to collect it???!!! This is not a reflection on Royal mail but lazy delivery drivers who just 'card it'...”
