I have been trying to get a resolution since March regarding incorrect meter readings after smart meters failed to install and the old meters were refitted. Another failed promise to call today. I'm at a loss as what to do next!!

Will set up new accounts and start billing you after moving home for an old property claiming "system error". BEWARE! Do not use, fraudalent incompetent behaviour and a rip off.

Have been with Scottish Power for years and every two years you can guarantee there will be problem. Latest after signing up to new 2 year deal and at the same time entering my readings for meter they managed to muck it up completely. This started at the end of April as my old deal was coming to an end and decided, more fool me, to sign up with a new deal. Didn't check online for 2 weeks but when checked the entered readings had disappeared and the new deal was nowhere to be seen. I then phoned, emailed and contacted them through messenger on Facebook to try and sort out the problem. Guess what now nearly end of August and still not resolved, this despite countless emails etc, Customer support refuse to get supervisor or manager to come on phone to help resolve problems as seemingly this is company policy, I didn't think they had any policies! When I have had problems before talking to management sorts the problems out in minutes, the operatives on the end of the phone, by the sound of it just read a script and have no real knowledge. Promised that it would be sorted out in days and given a reference, only after prompting, only thing I received was 2 calls weeks apart to say it was been worked on. Overall next to BT one of the worst customer services experiences that their is.

Not one good thing to say about Scottish Power. You are constantly passed between workers with no resolution to your problem. A lot have mastered the empathetic customer assistant but not much else. Also had some very rude assistants. I had a 10 month complaint with Scottish Power, resolved by Ombudsman. SP closed the complaint on multiple occasions with no resolution. I worked as a Customer assistant and knew how horrible the job was so I was always considerate. But it got to the point that I was calling up multiple times or being called up multiple times over issues of the property when I had notified them of my leaving of the property 5 months prior to the calls. They breached GDPR by sending a different property’s billing information. Refused to back bill the property without ombudsman’s involvement. Missed visit appointments. Didn’t pay Guaranteed standard of service fee for missed appointment. Strong constant failure in customer care. The whole issue was SP was using a shortened version of my MSN number’s (gas and electricity) and electricity was registered to a separate property. They caused me so much stress and anguish the whole time redressing this issue. Don’t choose Scottish Power. Save yourself the stress.

6 Months in the new contract, having now paid 5 instalments, every time I have altered my DD payment downwards from their own Scottish Power-'APP' they have completely disregarded my instruction... I'm now a £100.00 in credit and getting the money back is proving a complete joke.... Scottish Power you should be ashamed...never again!!

Customer service - Very poor Price - rip off Delivery - poor Returns & refunds - very poor This company is a scum and not even worth 1 star.. I was scammed from the very first. When l joined, it was through an agent. That day l will never forget, l was in a hurry on the high street. Someone mentioned, he was doing a quick survey, but actually signed me up with this company. I realised later , I actually switched from my energy supplier. It did not end there, l recently moved house and it took them ages to sort out. Although l had entered the actual meter reading online, l still had to speak to someone as these were regarded as estimated readings according to the email. After speaking and submitting my actual readings over the telephone to several people in customer service, my bill was still coming up as estimated reading. I was referred to the home department, provided the final reading and my account was in credit. So l was expecting a refund on both gas and electricity. This also reflected on my account there was a refund due on both accounts. I was told a cheque will be sent to my new address wishing few days. To my surprise, l received an email that the readings were estimated. I replied to the email and attached the actual pictures of the readings for evidence. I suggested that they check their system as something was very wrong . To my surprise, the positive figures, turned to negative figures, l actually paid a balance on my account with same readings which had a refund due. The difference now is that they are called actual reading. This was a joke.... I tried to email back to a customer service director, my email was blocked this time. THIS IS DISGUSTING COMPANY, CUSTOMERS BEWARE! I just had to pay the fabricated balance on my account, just for my sanity. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I am utterly disgraced at the service, l repeat. The reviews on here and trust pilot paint the exact picture of what this company is about, l agree. I experienced the same. Good riddance and l did not move with them, bye.

Go around in circles with this company. Absolute shambles from the top to the bottom. Been promised call backs several times, they don’t bother. Disgusting company!

They're expensive, and their customer care is non-existent. We were customers of theirs for many years. After my recent experiences with them, I'll never use them ever again.

Shocklingly bad. Very high charges. Never got the combined energy deal. Fobbed off with excuses and attempts to tie me in for longer contracts. No explanation of hike in costs. Blocked me leaving several times. Debt collector threats during lockdown despite the bills being incorrect. I am now a member of a FB group for people who have had to deal with this company. The experiences people have had are truly shocking. I hope the truth comes out about this company and they're forced to cease trading. DO NOT USE!!!

Avoid Scottish Power at ALL costs, as a business they are incompetent, couldn't complete a house move facility on-line or by phone call, S/P couldn't complete this either via a phone call so they closed the account then opened another account for new property, they also at the time couldn't setup a tariff so I was on standard rate at astronomical rates, endless phone calls to sort out to no avail, did Uswitch online to get rid of S/P total waste of time and they still haven't sorted out the last bill from my previous property 3 months ago, they still have £120 of mine so Im not paying final bill till they sort it out. Do Not Sign up to Scottish Power!!!

Scottish Power The biggest mess in UK. AVOID at all cost... for past 3 years it has been nothing but nightmare!!! Wrong bills for £9000, gas for £5000 this what they charged me for my 3 bed terrace house... Shame on them!! Everything at this setup is a waste of time, in particular their Customer service .... Just a joke and it is managed by a joker... I am totally disgusted with everything about this company.. They should not be allowed to trade...

Avoid this company, same situation as the comment below!! I left them in January and still dealing with their mistakes now in August! They are trying to charge me £89 for outstanding bills but I've never been in debt with them. I've tried to call them several times and still not been able to resolve it after being told they will look into it, then they will clear the balance but then get told I still owe money then get told something different? I asked to speak to a manger but the manager then got back to me. I feel like I've been told lies after lies and no one is taking responsibility for anything. Very frustrating!!!

This company is an absolute joke and is full of incompetent and unprofessional workers who have no ability to resolve issues. They have been sending me bills and chasing me for payments when they confirmed my account is closed. Each different individual I speak to contradicts the previous and they aren't even savvy enough to read the previous email chaina. Never use this company, they are a waste of space.

Do not deal with complaints. Ongoing for 3 years. You get harassed by the company, by different departments. Who are unable to sort the issue out. The debt is for the tenants. And they have this information. I have arranged a phone call back on numerous occasions, and they never ring back. A joke of a company. Do not use. Also, do not arrange new meters from this company. They send engineers who can not fit meters. On 3 different sites, it took more than 5 visits to get meters fitted.

The worst customer service I have experienced in my life. It took 5 hours worth of phone calls just for them to edit my address as they had got it wrong! I bought the property 12 months ago and, at the time, gas was direct debit and electricity was pay as you go. I'm desperate to leave them to go with Look After My Bills but in order for me to do so I must make sure both gas and electric are paid via direct debit. Since Aug 2019 I have been phoning to make this happen but I have had absolutely nothing from them. And now, of course, nothing can be done due to Covid! I have a new born baby, we live in a rural area and it is a nightmare to get electric at times! If you want no customer service, high bills and and an all round awful experience Scottish Power is for you!

Worst energy supplier i have ever seen before..Think 100 times before you join ScottishPower.. This company made me pay nearly half of my monthly salary more than £500 when i said i want to leave your company...it is so hard to earn that money and they will take it in jus a seconds saying that i used more electricity and gas.. totally rubbish i mean who will use that amount of energy in a month. They said i have to pay over £500 as a last bill...i was paying correct amount till june and at july i had to pay £515.24...which is a very big amount for a gas and electricity bill.. remember money is not everything in life but learn to keep your customers happy give them good service this is what an established company should be doing..at that time when i got ph call from ScottishPower they said i will be paying £67.67 monthly and now £515.24 this is definitely not a good service...this is why your customers are so much disappointed...at last learn to respect your customers and they will give you the same......

We have been with Scottish power for a number of years, At first I did not take much notice of their bills, but after a while I looked a bit closer and tried to work out their calculations which were not very clear, the amount of recalculations they send me at times were numerous and confusing. I came to the conclusion they were overcharging me in a big way. During the lockdown I decided to change supplier as I was quoted £650.00 per year less then SP. The final bill was totally confusing, it changed daily and I could not work out what I owed. I send various E-mails to them to no avail. They kept pestering me for money so I decided to pay by instalments to keep them of my back. The system in place with SP is that they do not reply to the customer so the customer gives up and resigns. I am a Dutch national living in the UK and I am dumb-founded that this practice takes place in the UK. This must be the worse business operating in the UK, a bit like manana maybe. With a government looking the other way what chance do we have? They won’t last, I hope! Very bad company !!!

Appalling! I'm gobsmacked there are companies like this still in existence. I even joined an online support group to get advice from other victims on how to respond/leave/complain. Never known a company as bad!
