Took out insurance on corner suite. All seams on cushions started coming away, due to Material fraying. Phoned insurance up and they said, they would send somebody out but If fabric has just frayed it's nothing to do with them. But if seam came loose due to stitching they would fix it. Rang scs customer service to tell them about insurance. They said they could send somebody out for a charge of £75. And hopefully they could resolve it when they came out. I asked if they bring a sewing machine and she said "no all furniture is sewn by hand!!!". I only paid the insurance as they told me in the shop I would be covered for everything, but scs and insurance just getting out of it anyway they can. Very disappointed in them

Absolutely disgusted by this company! Do not order from here or do so if you want to wait longer then 3 months for a sofa. (Yet to still be recieved) Me and my partner moved into our new home nerly 3 months ago now with still no sofa as when we ordered they first said 'sofa will be no more then 4 weeks', 4 weeks later we had a phone call from scs saying the fabric we wanted was discontinued which was the first problem, we went into the store to then choice another fabric, we should of cancelled then but thought we would give them a second chance, never give them a second chance!! 4 weeks after that still no sofa, we did have a phone call saying that our sofa was to be delieved on this saturday which we had a phone call yesturday saying that the sofa has not arrived to the warehouse therefore they cannot deliever the sofa! It is due to get into the warehouse on the 15th next week but we still have no confirmed date of when the sofa will be with us nor where it even is, most of the staff at scs cribbs causeway are very arrogant and rude towards us as we keep calling to see what is going on, not experienced enough in knowledge or either customer service! So many more issues but i'd be writing a book if i carry on! I broke down in a absolute state when we got the phone call to say our sofa wasnt being delieved( also 7 months pregnant) so i am more then stressed and can't stand to just lay on a bed no further! Not one to moan and have never put out a complaint but i'd like to help further customers to know never give scs a second chance!

""ordered a parker knowle 3 seat recliner last year from Bedford branch, with a sale price of £899. Talked to the salesman while we were sat on the recliner and told him this was the model we wanted. He got a colour book out and the wife chose the colour and paid £250 deposit. She went back 4 weeks later to find out delivery date and pay the balance. While she waited she noticed someone looking at the same sofa, and turning the sale price over. She saw that it had different prices for recliner, and when the salesman got back to her, she checked that we had ordered the 3 seat recliner. It appeared that the salesman had quoted us the sale price for a static model. My wife rang me and I came in and told them we had ordered the recliner advertised at the sale price of £899, and had agreed it was the same model we were sat on. The manager was called and told us to check the invoice. It stated " Shrewsbury 3 STR" My wife and I are in our late 60's and the wife thought it was a 3 st recliner. I offered my card to buy a more expensive suite, and asked the manager to refund her deposit, and I would take a £2000 sofa on 4 years credit. The manager refused and even the young sales man who had shown us the sofa we liked the look of, was confused. We went away and were told to contact head office, we then got told it was nothing to do with them and to go back to the store manager. This was a clear case of misleading sales tactics and exploitation of elderly people. I then checked trust trader and the first few hundred pages had glowing reports. I then checked right to the back of the pages and found some horrific stories about SCS. There is even a facebook page with negative comments from ex staff and unhappy customers. We got no where with Bedford branch, and I proceeded to warn people about the SCS tactics and lousy after sales service. I have by my estimates managed to persuade people who were looking for sofas and furniture, to check the reviews on SCS and have roughly cost them lost sales of approximately £ 8000. I will continue to advise people I meet, on the information I find on various consumer sites, and when I find a comment section, I will repeat the experience we had with SCS. We eventually purchased a 3 seat leather recliner from DFS. It is very comfortable and I was able to strip it right down, and was very pleased with the construction I found. I also believe SCS import sofas from overseas, and there have been some occasions where salesmen have allegedly claimed the sofas are made in the uk, but office staff have let slip they come from Indonesia or malasia. I cannot believe a company such as SCS would rob a couple of pensioners of £250, turn down an order for a more expensive sofa, and treat us with contempt when we tried to negotiate a new deal. The manager at Bedford has probably gone now but SCS should really get itself organised. We were told to contact a chap called Jordan and we left a message. No one contacted us.

I purchased two settees in April 2015 they were a day late coming or though they assured me they would be delivered on the delivery date have problems with one of the cushions sinking they came out and fix that but have now a problem with the material on one of the foot rests but c but have now a problem with the material on one of the foot rests but SCS are not interested you can see that it's a manufacturing fault that they are not willing to even come and look at it

Sales staff were knowledgeable and helpful it was the lack of service in fitting the carpet which is unacceptable. The fitting day was agreed at the showroom and I was told that we would receive a call 30 mins before fitting. This did happen but at 17:30 in the evening. For this I did not even need to take a day’s leave. I also cannot believe that SCS hide behind the concept that the fitting is a contract between you and the fitter where the customer pays them directly. These days a higher level of service is expected from companies and this seems to be something out of the 80’s. After a 45min period where people seemed only interested on getting home the room has been left for me to finish with carpet trimmings and loose tuffs everywhere with the parting words of “leave it an hour before vacuuming”. If I could offer advice to SCS it would be to employ your own carpet fitters which have the time and skill to fit the product you have sold. What is the point of your salesman doing his best work if it is to be undone so quickly by the people you use to fit the carpet If you want a carpet fitted with care and attention go to a store which use their own installers where the company you have paid takes responsibility for the sale and fitting.

don't make a complaint. If you dare a senior manager will accuse you of lying and fraud. I think you will find this to be deformation of character. Their driver dropped a sofa in my garden from a great height, which caused damage to my property and also the sofa. to cut a long story short I refused the delivery and cancelled my order. I raised a complaint which I was fobbed of with excuses for months, to finally be accused by 2 senior management of SCS to be defrauding them to remodel my front garden. I have better things in my life to do than worry about defrauding a slanderous company that accuses their customers. Shop here are your own risk and sanity NEVER will I ever buya single thing from this slanderous company.

Sofa ordered 4 months ago, delivery specified for 14th August 2017, now told a further 4 weeks delay and left without a Sofa. Also looked online and found many similar examples of poor customer service from SCS as well as alarming complaints about the leather peeling from customers who have purchased the same Sofa so really very stressed now. Have been on Facebook page to see if anybody else has managed to get any of the issues resolved as it seems SCS are leaving a trail of unhappy customers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/680820585450081/

A complete shambles of a company. Quick enough to sell you the product and then 'bang' all semblance of customer care or assistance goes out of the window. Constantly try to screw you for every little extra penny and then send the most half arsed and unhelpful carpet fitters around. An example, of which there are many - I was told they would not fit a 90cm x 114cm patch of carpet under the strairs as it was not on their plans. This despite me having my entire house carpeted top to bottom at a cost of near 5k, and their own staff member having measured this area. Poor service, penny pinching, lack of crm system, ill trained and rude shambles of a company. Avoid!!!!!

The worst service I have ever witnessed in my life. Absolutely appalling. Worse than very poor. Bought a carpet 3 weeks ago from SCS at the metro centre, it was meant to be delivered on Monday so somebody waited in all day long, to which the delivery man phoned my husband and said he would be here between 2-6. Never showed up so my husband rang him to ask where they were and he said the job they were on was s nightmare so he would be around 7.30 8.00. The delivery guy rang at 8.15 to say that it would be 10.30 before they could get here? So that was the first joke. Because obviously we aren't going to have some idiot putting down a carpet at 10.30 a night. My husband rang up and complained the next day, so they promised the guy would come on the Wednesday at 4.30 since that was convinient for us. And he's never showed up. So we have gone and got a full refund and would ever ever use this shit company ever again!!!!!!!!!!!! Baring in mind our furniture gets delivered tomorrow which isn't going to happen now because they carpet isn't down!!

Aftersales care are absolutely appalling Long story, over 9 months, cut very short I had to refer my case over to Barclays Financial Services who cover my interest free credit loan to deal with this query under section 75. SCS wanted to charge me £75.00 non refundable to send out their engineer to confirm if the sofa was defected or not. Barclays instructed an independent inspection to be performed by HomeServe. HomeServe deemed that the whole suite, 3 seater and 2 separate chairs, had a defect. Barclays advised even though the suite was 2 years old they instructed SCS to fix the defect. From a customer point of view, I am still paying for a sofa that has a defect. SCS have been paid in full for the price of the suite a month after I purchased. For further information SCS do not replace whole suites if defected, even though at point of sales they will tell you they do. Also they tell you SofaGuard will resolve defects, well they don’t and basically SofaGuard is not worth the paper it is written on. SCS 3 months after report of defect was submitted arrived at my house to replace fabric. They replaced 3 seater fabric and claimed to have “forgotten” to order the material for the 2 chairs. After another 6 weeks of trying to resolve myself with SCS I again had to speak to Barclays. SCS are now saying it is not cost effective for them to fix the defect on the 2 separate seats and they are providing options that mean I am further out of pocket and still have to deal with these cowboys. Barclays are pursuing this further at a higher level. I can’t even complain to the ombudsman as they have had dealings with SCS before and don’t get any further so now refuse to assist any users who have issues with this company. This company is an absolute joke. Based on the queries on the SCS complaint board I am not the only one who is frustrated by their lack of interest when something goes wrong. They like to wash their hands of any issues after the sale. I have tried to resolve this at shop level, ie SCS Speke, who then bounce to head office who literally take no responsibility once the sale has been completed. They were forced to resolve this by Barclays but then where incapable of fully resolving the issue. SCS have had their money and that is all they care about. In the meantime I still have a suite that 2 of the chairs still has a defect.
