Sofa is completely different to what was ordered in store. The arms on the sofa are just velcro and just come off. The sofa should clip together but didn't stay together. Even tipping over when our granddaughter tried to get off the sofa. They came to re clip but the frame was not allied so the just fudged it and bolted it together. The furniture is that badly made even when you sit down on it the whole thing moves back. The gliders must of come from some very cheap suppliers as stayed on for 2 minutes. And after phoning about all the problems one one gets back to you. DO NOT BUY FROM SCS.

Where do I even start... We ordered our sofa from SCS at the end of August and we were told the sofa would be delivered the second week of November. Between ordering the sofa and our first "delivery", we received no communication from SCS regarding the status of our order. Additionally, the online chat and 'track your order' function is not available on their site. Our sofa wasn't delivered until Tuesday. When it arrived, it was the totally wrong sofa and not only that, it was half a sofa too (the corner of a corner sofa). We were told someone would get in touch with us that day to discuss but we heard nothing. I then was on hold to customer services for over 2 hours trying to find out what is going on with our sofa. After getting through, we were told there was nothing they could do and that the manager of the Chester store would call us at 10:30am today. Surprise surprise, no call. I then called customer services back today (and was on hold for over an hour and a half) and was told the Chester store manager would call me by 8pm today... again, no call. We're absolutely appalled by this customer service. We currently have no sofa and we have no idea where the sofa we ordered is or whether it's even been built. The whole experience has been very stressful and I've never dealt with a company of this scale that offers ZERO communication. Please save yourself the stress and hassle and avoid SCS at all costs and ensure your friends/family avoid them too. Terrible experience, never again.

Paid a deposit (rest on finance) in Darlington store. Was told that sofas were coming today (Wed 20th Nov) got a text on Monday saying there was an outstanding balance that needed to be paid on Monday otherwise delivery would be delayed. Assuming there was no balance (as I had paid upfront costs in store and arranged finance), I called anyway to be told that there was 'an unusual' £39.01 outstanding on my account. The operative said she would call the store to query - store closed for refurb. She said she called covering store, Stockton, couldnt get through. As the lady was struggling to get to the bottom of the mysterious £39, I offered to pay it over the phone until she had sorted so that it did not hinder todays delivery - I was assured approx 4 times that if I did that, I would 'definitely' still be getting delivery as expected, so I paid by card over the phone. Today, I get a call from the warehouse calling to 're-arrange' my delivery. Yes, calling on the day I was expecting delivery, to re-arrange it?! I explained why I was annoyed, nothing that they can do 'they are just in the warehouse' and earliest time they can delivery is a week from today. I have explained that I have nothing to sit on as I had them removed yesterday ready for delivery today - not interested. Have been told there is nothing that can be done. I feel absolutely lied to and conned. On holiday with head office, pressed 1 to get a callback which I was informed would be approx 10 mins wait time, over an hour later and I'm still waiting. False promises, avoid!

Shambles of an organisation, placed an order in September, due for delivery early November, tracked via the website (now took offline it was so bad) numerous calls and told all on track to then find the store had incorrectly placed the order and had cancelled it and reordered two weeks later. Didn’t bother to notify me, tried to say it was an “amendment” no that would be something I change, this was an in store error, and now advised there is no formal process to raise a complaint. All I can advise is avoid this joke of a company

Still waiting on sofas over 6 months and poor service not able to talk to anyone no one telling us what's happening. Always got website, telephone faults.

I strongly recommend that you avoid SCS (also trades as DFS) I can only describe my experience as awful. I initially had a wonderful experience and was excited at choosing a sofa that was perfect for our needs. This was all completely ruined by unscrupulous and unlawful actions of the store manager (SCS Stockport) which I only realised when I arrived home. I had a niggle about the deposit amount I'd paid so when I got home I checked the order - which I was never shown in store and told it would be emailed to me. The order showd the manager had added items I didn't agree to including care products and a care warranty and had missold the finance package (that I didn't even ask for and didn't need. I only went with finance because instead of paying 30% deposit and the rest prior to delivery, he said if I take finance I only needed to pay 10% deposit and could still pay the rest on delivery. When the email from the finance company came through it states they'll collect first payment in December - 2 months before the expected delivery date. Further, the SCS website states that a deposit isn't required when you take finance in store. All of the 'paperwork' was done my the manager using a tablet. He sat away from me, asking questions about me (name, address, etc - the sort of stuff you'd expect to be asked). He didn't show me the tablet at any time or ask me anything else - he even completed all the data protection questions himself, without asking me. I hoped that raising with the HO would see this turned around. Unfortunately they're as bad as the store and refusing to cancel the order saying I accepted t&cs. Not only was I not shown these T&Cs but my signature was obtained by deceit. It was a blank screen and I assumed I was simply agreeing to purchase the sofa at the displayed and discussed price. I wasn't even informed about the delivery charge, which is the only thing I would have accepted. More concerning is SCS appears to be refusing my request to cancel the finance agreement. Which is my legal right. It's been less than 24 hours - I have 14 days by law. I feel so duped and stupid for trusting a household name. Hope they're ready for the fight because I certainly am.

We ordered our Sofa on 25th August from the Worthing Branch In West Sussex, since then we had no communication sofa was due to be delivered on 25th October, we had no communication tried calling the Customer Services Line on many occasions and pressed 1 each time but surprise surprise no one called back, live chat been and also tracking been down for over a week so we drove 17 miles to the branch in Worthing and spoke to Jack who said he was the Store Manager, what a rude unhelpful person he was he said our furniture has been in the warehouse over a week but we had not been contacted, he didnt know why and there was no apology at all. He booked a delivery slot for us on the 18th November but who knows if it will turn up, he did not apologise once and just said he didn't know why we had driven down he said the phone was working it might of rang but like I see from the many bad reviews below no one answers but he was having none of that he was really not prepared to listen. SCS you certainly need to train your Manager in this Store as he was not a nice person at all. The lady we brought the sofa through has now left and I am not surprised at all. We have also emailed saying how disappointed we are but again no response it makes me wonder what is going on at SCS, all they want is your money!!!!!

Absolutely shocking would have been better buying from a crackhead , should have had a chair delivered on 8th October 4 th November still waiting call them they lie and say someone will call you back , send emails they don’t reply , we visited the store on Friday to ask for a refund as we are well in how rights to cancel by now couldnt even give us a answer to where the chair was

DO NOT USE Stay away from SCS at all costs. Back in March we bought a new sofa and, with said sofa, came a discount on flooring - we took it. Boy did we make an absolute mistake. I won't list out all the mistakes that have been made in details, because you'll still be reading 3 hours later but summed up; - lack of accountability - lack of organisation - lack of ability to put notes on customer accounts - store managers stating they've never heard about your situation, despite speaking on the phone numerous times - promise compensation but don't give it (due to aforementioned lack of notes on accounts) - customer has to do all the chasing (we're still doing so SEVEN months down the line) Honestly, if zero stars was an option, I'd have used it.

Very poor communication My chairs and cushions were ordered in August. Should have been delivered on November 1st. Tracking website has been off line for days, as has online chat. Eventually managed to get through to customer services by phone but they could not help with where they are with my order. Just said please wait even longer- maybe a few weeks! I asked for better communication to let me know my order hasn’t been lost or forgotten and regular updates. Scs has poor delivery and poor after sales communication.

We have had a scs sofa, swivel chair and puff for 2 years now. The swivel chair snapped off the base and we have paid the necessary fee on Sept 9th but are still waiting. We were sent the wrong base a few weeks ago and notified aftercare of this but the technician still had to come out weeks later to clarify, yes it was the wrong part. Many phone calls later and yet again I have not been contacted as promised to find out if the part is still available or to find another solution! To have a broken chair in the lounge for many weeks now is just ridiculous. Called yet again a few minutes ago but no one is available due to staff training. Diabolical aftercare!

My sofa’s smell ! I don’t know what it is but when I open my sitting room door in the morning when the doors been closed for a while, there is this smell. Kind of spicy, herbal, garlic, musty smell. It seems just since we have had the flo sofa’s. Thought it was a new rug we got to go with sofa’s. Newly decorated room, new flooring. So cannot understand what it is or why ? We have had it a year next month !

I really regret ordering a sofa from SCS. The company seems eager to get you to place your order, but once it's done, they no longer care. I went back to update my order 2 days later, and the same person who was so helpful the first time did not even care about listening to us ! I was told my furniture would be delivered within 6-8 weeks (confirmed for the new furniture too), but it’s actually 12 weeks and no one tells you that before you pay the deposit !!! When I called to inquire (because I had to, no one sends you updates), they simply told me the original 6-8 week timeframe was wrong and there’s nothing I can do, including canceling my order. Extremely frustrating! Customer service is awful. Would not recommend at all !!

Sofa keeps being delayed, ordered it on the 4th of July and we still don't have it. We had a delivery date sent via text, but just received another text this morning to say that it has been delayed again, with no other delivery date given. They haven't even explained why it has been delayed again. It should have been delivered by mid September. Absolutely fuming and do not recommend at all. I would suggest buying from another company and we certainly will never use them again! There excuse will be "in the contract you signed it stated four weeks either side blah, blah...". It just further proves that you should use a different company to ScS. What has annoyed us is that they keep delaying the sofa with no explanation and no apology. We have had to keep delaying our white van man that we've booked to get rid of our old sofa. It's all added stress that we don't need with a newborn baby!

We ordered a sofa from them online. The colour displayed was a darkish cream but when delivered was actually bright white. I have contacted SCS to discuss options which were responded to with tough luck take us to the ombudsman. So we have. Also please read the terms and conditions in full especially in store cause if you have a problem their T and C’s state they will not do a thing
