Store in Hull - St Andrews Quay. Pushy staff, not at all impressed with the way you are followed around by the person who initially makes contact with you on entering the store. Everywhere we went he was literally right behind us. That was the first shop we went in and we didn't return as we were so put off by their in your face attitude. As we left, the store manager then stopped us to try and get us to buy something by offering us a special deal if we liked anything. Completely put off by all of this. None of the other stores on St Andrews Quay had staff who did this. We bought our sofas from Sofology instead - no pushy staff in their at all. A much better experience. Felt so pressurised in SCS today.

Do Not buy from this company !! They are terrible at delivering your sofa in one piece ....I’ve had 2 sofas , verbal abuse from staff , order is still not complete , also arrived covered in scratches and already sinking it’s 5 months old ! Honestly there are 1000s if unhappy customers!They report you if you put a negative review !AVOID AVOID AVOID

Initial purchase was easy as we knew what we wanted although the salesman was a little surprised by our speed but unfortunately he made some statements which later in the process proved to be more optimistic than the truth with regards delivery and disposal of old furniture. The delivery team (Gatkin and L. Mason) were excellent and most helpful

I was not informed that I was expected to pay £29.99 delivery? What delivery it went to the store, collected by fitters and fitted which I payed for on fitting. When I purchased the carpet I was not shown any figures but told that my quote would be emailed to me which never arrived until the guy came to measure then he emailed my order and total cost. I was told that the fitter would ring the night before to arrange what time the carpet would be fitted. No one rang until I rang in the morning and then the fitter rang me to arrange a time. Very poor customer service

Oldham branch Store manager a complete waste of time. Had an issue with them delivering the wrong size carpet - too small which was their fault So had to wait another week for new one, which meant another morning off work let alone the disruption moving furniture etc And to be offered £50 as a goodwill gesture I find insulting and when I asked if he could give me a contact number or email address so I could take this further he would only give me his branch email and told me to address it to him!!!!! Absolute joke Have sent a complaint to customer services at head office and not even had a response back from them, even phoned twice and promised that someone would give me a call Still waiting Would never use this company ever again

bought a corner unit off them, with in three months the arm rests and seats began to sag,two separate fitters came took the underside off stuck handfuls of filling in some where and left. the rest was up to me, Iwas told I have to go round daily punching the seats,arms,and backs.Paid two grand for this privilage,buyer beware. ( just read thier terms and conditions they are well covered you have none.

Do not buy anything from SCS. They ask you to sign to say you will receive the sofa within 7 days of it being ready then when they ring and say its ready they tell me I will have to wait for 2 and a half weeks. When I tried to complain to the store about it I was fobbed off for 5 days with no reply and when the Cheltenham store manager did eventually call me back he was completely rude and refused to help. The salesmen both lied about how quickly it could be delivered as the distribution centre has told me that the manager would have been aware that they only deliver to my area every 2 weeks and should not have asked if I could accept it as soon as the sofa was ready. Absolutely terrible service. All they want is to get your money and don't care about anything else. Avoid if you want a good experience

Be careful when ordering in store, they jump on you and follow you around. We made the mistake of taking our children with us, who were getting impatient which then made us rush with signing things. It wasn't until we got home and properly looked we realised they had added insurance at £200 and a cleaning product at £50. If i was ever to order again i would only do it online. Also when trying to ring up the next day to cancel the insurance they then kept saying there was no one in store who could cancel it for us.

Such an amazing table set and chairs I had delivered. Delivery time was good and such an amazing team SCS have from those working in the store to the ones who deliver. 100/10 will recommend to anyone who wants to beautify their home

I have NEVER received such horrific customer service in my entire life!! My shoddy sofa itself is bad enough, but you put your faith in the company that they will put things right for you, book an appt for an engineer to attend (having to wait 3 weeks for the first available date!)with a time slot of 12-5, today the day arrives....but sadly, your engineer doesnt!!! Even after my call to customer service at 4.15pm and them assuring me he would be with me next, the engineer himself called at 5pm and told me he had finished for the day, couldnt fit me in and the planners shouldnt have told me he would be attending as I was actually booked in at 5.30pm and he finishes at 5!!!😡 My husband took the day off work to be here, waited in all day, to then need to call to reschedule, be met by a point blank refusal to admit that your planning team made a mistake, and needing to now wait another 2 weeks for the rebooked appt!! I was told that your team wouldnt even entertain the idea of compensation for loss of earnings!! I have a corner sofa with a corner cushion that is so flat you are sat on wood, and an arm with the wood sticking into your side when you sit next to it!! Absolutely diabolical service to go with the diabolical sofa that I unfortunately paid over £1000 for (when it was half price might I add!!!!) I wont be recommending your company to anyone, or purchasing from you in the future, and am absolutely shocked that this level of service has occurred at all to be quite honest!!

Went in looking for sofas and carpet, the sales assistant Dylan, in the paisley branch was brilliant, I chose a sofa and was struggling to find a carpet which would go with the sofa and my existing furniture, he made it so easy, brought samples, and gave his recommendation, with the budget I had, needless to say I came away under budget with sofas and carpet.. brilliant

I purchased a sofa from your Kilmarnock store, the salesman, Norman Calder was excellent, making me feel at ease, giving me loads of information, I’m really happy that i went into your store, and my daughter who was with me also made a purchase, well done Norman, we’ll definitely buy from you again.

Sales staff too pushy and in your face. You lost a sale there. As soon as i walked hrough the door, i was pounced on. I went to buy what i had seen on line, left without buyjng anything. I shall go simewhere else

Wasn’t happy with the way thay added on insurance an cleaning products. Thay didn’t inform me of there add ons. When I got home I realised what had happened. An went back to the shop for my Money back £170. Please be careful an always ask to look at ur bill. As thay add things on 😔

Carpets are such poor quality, please avoid! Our carpets are not even a year old and the pile is matting/clumping together and the texture has changed. SCS Aftercare are just not interested, they are condescending and rude. They have also ignored their own representatives report who came to inspect our carpets, he confirmed the texture has changed and the pile is matting together. The carpets are supposed to have a 10 year heavy domestic wear warranty...yet we will be surprised if ours last the year let alone 10! The carpets have the deluxe underlay which was recommended, we never wear our shoes in the house, and we vacuum very regularly. There is no reason apart from poor quality and premature wearing that this should be happening! We will be seeking further advice on this matter...carpets cost too much money for this to happen!

SCS is the worst company ever I had to deal with, its a complete nightmare. More than 2 months after we signed for their carpets for our house. It is literally impossible to get through to them except for one person in the staples corner store who answers occasionally. No date set up for the fitters for good month and finally when they did gave us a date, no one turned up. When called back we were given another date and so on have been given one or the other excuse. Someone was going to fit our carpet this week and when we contacted him to confirm everything is good for this Saturday, we got told that the carpets are damaged and he can’t fit them. I am absolutely gutted and no words to explain how frustrating this whole experience has been. No one from the store has contacted us to say that they won’t be fitting in again this Saturday and that the carpets are damaged. We only found out because we rang the fitter . DO NOT BOTHER WITH SCS. Waiting for the store to open in the morning and find our what they have to say. We want to cancel our order and get full refund asap

My daughter ordered new carpets for the flat she had just bought. Back in June the fitters turned up late on Friday afternoon and "fitted" the carpet. I could have done a better job myself than the SCS contracted fitters did. The carpet is ragged at the edges with strands hanging off, has wrinkles in it, goes up the wall behind one of the doors where no one has bothered to trim it and in the large cupboard, for which SCS were aware carpet was required, has been cut short with large gaps between the wall and the carpet, a piece about 8 inches by 2 inches missing with a bit of carpet put into it to disguise it and the area next to the heating system left with no carpet at all. SCS have insisted that the original fitter will put it right but, first he was on holiday, then, on three occasions has failed to turn up at the agreed time. My daughter has insisted a different fitter will have to come and carry out the fitting and SCS finally agreed but their idea of a different independent fitter is the original fitters mate who was there for the original job! This has been going on for 6 weeks now and my daughter has been unable to move into her flat because of it since we cannot put anything into the large cupboard until it is properly fitted with its carpet. SCS meanwhile take ages to answer any emails and keep trying to foist my daughter off with the same fitters. Some of the worst service I have encountered and we certainly cannot recommend SCS to anyone.

Yes you take people’s money but dont tell them they have to wait 11 weeks.😡 and then phone heAd office who are not interested and then the store phones and tells you that they will phone you back one week later still no phone call about they have my payment in full 😡😡😡😡

Absolutely disgusting service. My grandmother who is 75 years old wanted a new sofa. Everything went fine, picked out the sofa she wanted. She was then roped into buying a new carpet, and paying for it all via cash. All paid upfront before even receiving anything. Surveyor came to do measurements, my gran then received a phonecall, stating she would be charged an extra £90 to fit, because her floor is concrete, her floor is suspended timber... How one can confuse concrete with suspended timber is beyond me, as she had told them on the phone. The quote from the carpet came through absolutely extortionate, when she had rang to ask why, we discovered they had given her a £30sqm carpet without her knowing. Because of all this hassle my whole family has been on the phone and faced abuse from the staff after trying to receive a refund and cancel. We've been told that a cancellation and refund is not possible as the carpet has already been cut and my grandmother is bound by contract. Firstly, if the carpet has been cut, how come it's going to take another 2 weeks to be delivered? Secondly, by law, any person can cancel a contract if they have not received goods yet, and should also by law, have a cooling off period. This company is an absolute disgrace, all they are concerned about is receiving their own money. The fact that they have the audacity to take advantage of an old woman is abhorrent. We will be taking this further, we will be contacting trading standards and ombudsman. Avoid this company at all costs.

I don’t know where to start I’m sat here crying as yet again the carpets are not being fitted again for the 4th time, it is excuse after excuse . When you spend £7000 on carpet you really expect much better service than what we are currently getting , wish I had never walked into the shop. Avoid this company at all costs, communication is appalling and remuneration for there incompetence is an insult and I can see no end in sight. I am currently having to live in a part carpeted home as they haven’t been able to supply and fit adequate goods now for over 1 month . Buy with these at your own peril
