The sofa we received is nothing like the one in the showroom in terms of softness, comfort and seat depth - SCS will not accept our complaint - maintaining there is nothing wrong with it - steer clear of this Company!

The sale of the coffee table and lamp stand was good.The delivery of the items was very poor.As we couldn’t get any delivery dates we asked for ,and also we weren’t told that we would have to put them together .We were asked about the entrance to the property as these items come in one piece .

The sales team seamed to add on another £120 to the cost of the sofa. Conveniently forgot to put in as the sale price. So needless to say they were told where to go.

Sofa wasn’t delivered when promised but this wasn’t too much of an issue as the flooring we ordered didn’t get ordered for 4 weeks after we placed the order because the guy who measured up said we needed 2 more boxes which would have to be payed for before they would order- why did it take 4 weeks to tell us this? Said flooring was delivered and fitted and amazingly we had 2 boxes left over which we can’t have refunded because,after being given the run around by the various departments we were told would sort it out, it turns out it is their policy to order 10% extra- this wasn’t explained when we purchased this very expensive flooring but apparently that’s tough because it’s in the small print!!! Needless to say we won’t be purchasing anything else from SCS ever and strongly suggest if anyone does deal with them you don’t trust the affable ‘ nothings too much trouble’ sales men and read everything very carefully down to the last full stop. On a positive note the sofa delivery men were excellent,professional courteous and extremely competent perhaps they should swap jobs with their sales colleagues!!

Everything. Sofa delivered without the matching chair. When the chair did turn up it was a different shade to the sofa. We complained about this then finally accepted that nothing would be done. We then found that the cushioning on the sofa was unevenly distributed meaning that when sitting on an end seat you were forced to lean into the middle seat! We complained. They sent a "technician" who agreed the sofa was faulty. A repair was arranged after several weeks but then the repairer went missing with the company van and equipment. Nothing was done for weeks. We have asked for a refund. Many weeks later after several promises of a"review" SCS have said that there is no problem and that they cannot help. Luckily we have copies of all their correspondence relating to the proposed repair. In the meantime, another fault developed when the zip on the seat cushion burst and cannot be closed. All of the above is merely a summary. We will probably have to go to court to get our money back. Avoid this firm like the plague. They are appalling.

Aftercare service awful ! Paid over £2000 for a sofa.... after 6 months, few of the seats had sunken. SCS dont want to know... and will not rectifier the issue as we hadn't 'dressed' them ourselves! I dont expect to pay this kind of money and have to dress the sofa regularly, especially after 6 months ! No mention of having to do this when purchased !

Absolute shambles! WE ordered a LaziBoy 2+1 corner suite and a chair over 15 weeks ago from the Bedford store. Come the delivery day (late!), we cleared the room and got rid of our old furniture, as instructed by SCS. The delivery van turned up, but only had the seat bases of the corner suite (no sofa backs , making it un-useable), and no chair. We rejected the delivery as it was incomplete (We'd been fooled by SCS before....Once you accept delivery of a partial suite it can take weeks to get the remaining parts). We had no furniture, and as my wife had just had major surgery it was extremely uncomfortable for her to sit on the floor. We went to the store and spoke to the manager James Pickard. After a few phone calls he gave us his promise that a new team would deliver the furniture the following day. So, the next delivery turned up (VERY late...about 9PM), and all they had was a 1+1 corner suite (not a 2+1), but still no chair. So, we rejected it again. SCS had messed up with our orders previously, so we decided to just go elsewhere. After further (email) conversations and a phone conversation with James he stated "I'm NOT giving you a refund!". We have had to order a new suite from a proper sofa company and have left the matter of the £1600.00 deposit refund in the hands of the credit card company. Believe me, this is a very much shortened version of the entire debacle. The whole experience is one we never want to repeat. All emails were forwarded to customer services for their response on the matter, but so far it appears they can't be bothered with any of it. I have never had such poor service, or total apathy from a company's "Customer services". We will never use SCS again. They have had far too many chances from us, and have failed over and over and over again.

We were looked after by Joe at Gloucester branch even though once we choose the funiture we wanted he still has to wait ages whilst I made up my mind which fabric to have. Their patience paid off.

We were seen by a sales rep in the Dartford store whose shirt was supposed to be white but a lovely shade of grey.... this should of put us off but oh know I see a sofa I really liked so ordered when my first instinct should of been right. The carpets in the place were filthy unyet they sell carpets. So after waiting weeks my new sofa and club chair arrived. After 3 days I heard a loud crack as I sat down (I’m on the larger size) but not obese. Again I had to wait weeks for specialist to come out. The wood had cracked on the knot part of wood and the chair was out an inch either side.... so again with a chair we couldn’t use, we requested a love chair instead..... again weeks waiting... and you guessed it the chair collapsed..... without repeating myself we waited weeks AGAIN and it was shoddy workmanship and was fixed on site 2 months down the line the store manager has not rung us back. We are now waiting for the settee to also collapse..... they are completely incompetent and would advise never to buy from this store. The 2 stars are for the delivery drivers from Chelmsford... they were great and very cheery.

Friendly service, no problems with delivery, but quality is terrible. 18months down the line reclining mechanism grinds and creaks, seating sunk in and we can feel the metal framework when we sit down, now so uncomfortable we are going to have to buy another sofa. Guarantee doesn't cover bad quality. Our previous DFS sofa lasted 15 years!!

SCS Bradford is a nightmare after sales they dont want to know you,when theve received the money and youve received the goods.I bought a 3 piece suite and they sold me an insurance policy for accidental cover top to bottom to inside out( leather stitching form springs framework the lot ). Firstly color faded on leather technician came out said thats normal its a natural product. 2nd all sofa started sinking in was told thats normal wear and tear and told this is normal dont worry about it 3rd springs misshaped told that normal wear and tear. 4rd the same sofa springs came up like like two mini mountains. the springs where about to pop out of seats then they said well replace them but still haven't. engineer made an appointment and never turned up made me turn a full day off. Now the arms have broken off they dont want to know. have been in touch with the mangement area mangers ect. they claim they will contact but never do have me hanging on. now they are saying insurance policy cover arms. so i asked what does it cover they said you should have the terms and conditions i asked how they said someone should have sent them. which they never did he said if they wear never said leaflets are all around the store i went to buy a suite not to read leaflets all around the store about an insurance policy. they are worse than the pepsi max roller caster for heart pulses and surprises . all there reviews are based on point of sales or delivery offering coffees and teas ect. its the after sales thats a nightmare like a horror movie could fill page with a list of company's that me you and everyone use on daily basis that are 200% brilliant after sales. never in my career have i ever come across such a nasty company than scs Bradford . marks out of 10 is -10 . they should be banned dont believe a word they say. dont know how they sleep at night. they have no rules , no regrets. what they say and what they do is two different things. going to throw the 3 seater and 1 seater in the skip and have been advised to go with the one with broken arms to drop it off outside scs bradford for new years day. now front panel is falling about to fall of.

Service was great, staff were friendly, until we signed for our sofa, then they stopped caring. Staff have sworn at us, been rude, unhelpful, the sofa we ordered was delivered however they forgot to include the sofa cushions to sit on so we now have wait over Christmas with no cushions for the sofa in our new home. The lady I spoke to about cushions wasn't overly helpful, didn't seem concerned about the lack of cushions delivered, I now need to send a photo of the missing cushions before they can authorise a replacement to be ordered and no time frame can be offered. A bizarre method of evidence because you could just take cushions off, and why would I want a spare set of cushions?? Surely somewhere within SCS there is a sofa cushion not belonging to a sofa? After several attempts at complaining about the delivery driver swearing I finally received a call which resulted in the man I was speaking to saying it's out of character for him. Nothing was done. SCS genuinely not bothered about the poor service and attitude of staff.

OK until theres a problem. One of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. Endless promises to ring back broken, reports going missing, saying that they had to contact the manufacturer (when our contract of sale is with SCS). Very stressful, avoid avoid avoid. No end in sight yet just the misery of small claims court for the first time ever.

carpet ordered 2 weeks ago should have been fitted 14 dec fitter did not turn up went to store carpet delivered up north not to Croydon allowed to pick another carpet that was in warehouse local shop got authorization from head office Friday evening said carpet would be fitted today18 dec nobody turned up living on floorboard as took carpets up ready for fitter have 4 yeard old daughter can put no christmad decs up for her store no saying after Christmas before it can be fitted spent hours on phone hiting head against brick wall so so bad

I wish that I had read these reviews before ordering a carpet. I have never had such bad service from a company before. My first mistake was paying up front. The wrong carpet was then delivered. Arranged a new date then I was contacted to say there would be a three week delay! This was reduced to one week when I complained. Trims I ordered weren't delivered. I set out complaint to head Office in Sunderland who then sent my complaint to the shop that I was complaining about! I wrote again and the same thing happened. Complete lack of interest by all SCS staff. I asked about compensation and was told " we don't do that. We could send a bouquet of flowers to your wife." The bouquet arrived and even that was cheap and nasty like all my contact with SCS. I will also contact the local media and Which magazine about my appalling experience. I am going to buy new carpet throughout the house next year so SCS have lost thousands of pounds in sales. A very short sighted firm!

We ordered a stipe carpet, the fitting is shocking and I submitted an email and complaint, 4 days later no reply or even an acknowledgement. The shop don't want to know and aren't interested, there's a massive flaw in the carpet also . We have never used SCS before and wish had stuck with the normal company we use . Shocking customer service - well that's if we ever get a reply

Promised delivery 1st week of December. Still no sofa and no delivery date. Unable to speak to any management member. All on holiday or in conference calls. Customer complaints telephone number on web site is invalid. I would not recommend purchasing a sofa from SCS

AS SOON AS THEY GET YOUR MONEY, THE SERVICE TURNS POOR. THEY KEEP CHANGING DELIVERY DATES, THEY DO NOT ANSWER EMAILS, THE PHONE RINGS OUT FOREVER AND CUTS OFF. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE SALES PATTER... YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

THE SERVICE IN THE STORE WAS TYPICAL SALES PATTER UNTIL YOU SIGN THE DOTTED LINE, THAT IS WHEN IT ALL GOES WRONG. RIDICULOUS LONG WAITS FOR GOODS, THEY REPEATEDLY GIVE YOU DATES AND CHANGE THE DATES. THEY DO NOT ANSWER EMAILS. THERE ARE TOO MANY SUPPLIERS TO HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THESE JOKERS. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE SALES PATTER, YOU WILL REGRET IT
