About Virgin Experience Days:

Virgin Experience Days was launched in March 2001 under the name of Virgin Experience. Originally offering experiences to corporate clients as a way of incentivising staff and customers, the company rapidly expanded to bring the Virgin values of quality, innovation, value for money and fun to the consumer experience gift market.
The summer of 2003 was a real milestone for Virgin Experience. In our continual quest to bring the best experiences and unrivalled service, we joined forces with Acorne Sports. Founded in 1988, Acorne Sports is the original experience company and it’s their stamp of approval that confirms our pedigree and ability to deliver unforgettable experiences. Acorne ’s unrivalled reputation, knowledge and relationship with all of the featured centres made them the perfect partners for Virgin Experience, a company dedicated to making sure customers have the very best time. By teaming up, we are able to challenge the way every experience is provided and offer once-in-a-lifetime gifts backed up by friendly service staff with first-hand knowledge.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, I brought my son a triple driving experience for is 10th birthday in Jan 2021. Which we couldn't book because of covid. When they reopened there wasnt any places with available for 3 cars without paying more money so I left it and renewed the voucher and tried to rebook, this was in March 22. The earliest car chase had available was in September 22 so I booked it. Acouple of weeks before I checked the booking and voucher to see it had expired at end of April. I could only contact virgin experiences by what apps or email. I explained everything to be sent a snotty reply basically saying pay again or loose your booking which by the way cost us another £50 for insurance and a lap car. Virgin experiences didn't give a ****. I'd advise everyone to buy else where. I have a voucher over a year out of date from buyagift a they renewed it for £20. My sons voucher ended up costing another £60. They dont care about anything but money. The people at car chase tried to get it extended for me and was shocked virgin experiences wouldn't help me.

Do I have a great story to tell... Since we had this little thing Covid, it has been hard to book these experiences and the vouchers expired. To my surprise, voucher I purchased was just a 3 month thing. I approached VED to ask if something can be done. It's impossible to talk to anyone, the Whatsapp chat function is useless, someone comes back to you after like 6h with lengthy copy-paste policy documents. Zero customer service, they don't care about their customers. They just care about taking your money and providing policy documents why they will not even meet you half way. NEVER EVER I WILL PAY ANOTHER PENNY TO ANYTHING VIRGIN!!! STAY AWAY, BOOK DIRECTLY!!!

Was given this as a gift from our birthday. A night in York and a boat cruise the next day. Had to arrange both these myself. Booked the hotel, no problem, but on trying to book the boat cruise, was told no availability for voucher bookings, but could have if I paid cash on the day. They suggested I come another day even though I had booked the hotel. As if I would drive another 150 miles there and 150 miles back just to go on a boat trip. Needless to say, we did,nt get the boat trip even though it was paid for. Explained this to Virgin but never got a reply. They don,t do any arranging for you, you are expected to do it all yourself. What are they doing to earn their money? NOTHING

One of those non-client focused marketing organisations who demand more and more information. Having been bought the experience as a present, not only did I have to set up an account, providing all my personal information, I then had to repeat the information when I registered the particular experience. And after that apparently I have to make a phone call to actually book – rather than booking online. It felt more like an excuse to grab my personal information for marketing purposes than anything else.

Extremely poor selection of hotels and three of them I phoned are not on scheme despite being on Virgin site. Had to pay £20 to extend. Have tried to swap 2 night hotel stay for dining experience. Upgrade prices are ridiculous. Actually cheaper just to go and pay without voucher. I can stay at Hilton without using voucher for cheaper than upgrade price. Virgin just ignore my complaints.

Had a voucher great . hotel Brooklynn Manchester, cant use on weekends, had to book using another company which virgin told to book. had to leave voucher and a credit card . in cast virgin experience failed to pay . on arriving they took my voucher and my credit card and requested £50 from my account which was quickly transacted. they said they will refund it in a day or so even when I said gave my credit card on booking. the stay gave £50 allowance towards dinner .Had 2 main and 2 puddings £40 + 2beers total £56. just over by £6 so we thought . got changed ready for nigh out . looked up places to go Yates bar next door for starters. off we went 1030 closed said 2am on googol. every were except some food places closed. back to hotel bar closed .sat in room disappointed. morning breakfast ok but cold. check out told we owed £16. from bar bill . I said no £6 we were over. we only had £40 meal not £50 they said bar drinks whole separate. so they pocketed £10 from the meal. as it did not say on our voucher use all £50 and drinks are separate. also if you do happen to ever book cheapest is book at the desk. as I am due another visit to see a show in November but at that time when I booked if known at desk would have been cheaper . nice room bed .expensive food street food cheaper. staff nice. master the air con as hard to work. expensive for time spent there nothing special . VIRGIN EXPERIENCE DAYS 2 OUT OF 10 ANTHONY TAFFE FROM CREWE.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO I RECOMMEND THIS HELLISH COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the worst birthday present I've ever had. To start with, my mum bought me a voucher for a glamping holiday. When I tried to book it, they wanted more money off me (another £155) to have it as a weekend/school holidays. I'm a school teacher... When else am I meant to go away? Then I tried upgrading it to another short break that didn't have that written in the terms and conditions. Same problem. They wanted another £100. My boyfriend argued with Virgin for weeks. In the end they would only send me a £200 gift voucher and refunded the extra £60 upgrade. Then I decided to try booking for Alton Towers. We decided on a particular date that was available. My boyfriend booked it off work. Because it said you can't change the date after booking, I waited the following evening to book it. Then the date was gone... Then I refreshed and basically all the availability disappeared. Even weekends in September/october. This voucher expires in November............. Between him working shifts and me being a teacher, we don't have many options at all. Right now, I've attempted THREE times to book. I'm close to tears. My mother wasted £200.

I wouldn’t even give this company one star! My friend bought me one of these virgin experiences for my 40th birthday when she knew I would be visiting New York and spent a lot of money on it. When we were in New York we couldn’t book on the cruise through no fault of our own, the advisor was really slow in getting back to us when we were emailing her in NY and we never managed to book onto an experience. We only heard back from her after we had left NY! Virgin are refusing to offer a refund claiming that we can only use the voucher in the USA and it will never expire. We will not be visiting the USA and therefore this voucher has been a complete waste of money. How can this be fair? I would avoid this company with a barge pole!

Got this given as a gift. Just tried to redeem my voucher for an afternoon tea on Thames but website would not let me book despite showing availability. Eventually gave up and rang city experiences to be told virgin experience vouchers only have limited availability on their cruises so next available weekend date was in November (a whole 3 months away - even though advice is to book 4 weeks before). I had to settle on a weekday which means i have to book a day off work. You are better off just paying direct for the cruise. I guess advice is just don't buy virgin vouchers as it is just too much hassle for what was a nice surprise gift.

Roughly the same as everyone else here - after repeatedly declining my card for no good reason, I received zero response to messages - in fact, my first ticket was marked 'solved' without a response. No customer service - 4-5 day advertised wait for a response via email which never comes. Eventually I had a friend log in on my behalf and use their card to upgrade - which worked, but now my original voucher is cancelled, and they haven't sent me the new voucher as promised! Checked with my sister (who bought this for me as a birthday gift) and hasn't been sent to her either - so, this year for my birthday, I was allowed to give Virgin £31 for absolutely nothing, it would seem. Still no voucher or response to messages ... just a terrible service. Also I can't understand what's going on with the ratings here - customer service is marked 4.1/5, but i've just read 5-6 pages of 1 star reviews slating the customer service - i mean, there is none, so how it's getting 4/5 is beyond me. Must have had some serious good faith from before Acorne took over - because it's really gone to **** since

Nothing but poaching money off people. Can’t book experiences, get no response and can’t speak to an advisor. Stay away from this company. Buy a gift is 1000x better

Doesn't even deserve a star Absolutely shambles!!! Booked in over 8 weeks ago via Virgin Experience Day. They don't answer the phone, they can't even book you in.......was a late mother's day & birthday present for my mum. No confirmation email as stated and it's not even been booked in when she clearly stated it's booked in for 25th July at 1pm !!!! Fuming, anger, upset isn't the word!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY with Virgin Active in Chelmsford!!! Completely wrecked a day we should be looking forward too now completely destroyed!!!!! Do not book any experience days with Virgin you can't contact them via phone only email or Messenger the experience days and booking it's worth the money or hassle at all.....you only land up heartbroken, and money wasted you might as well burn your money with the experience days and the spa venue's they selected!!

I have had an awful experience with Virgin experience days. Originally booked prior to lockdown and then updated and converted to a more expensive theatre and meal experience last year, I have lost in excess of £180. Encore was unable to book my experience and kept moving the dates available for me to book. When they finally allowed me to book it, the date, which by then was not extendable, had run out. They suggested I contacted Virgin, which I did by letter- customer services is practically impossible to get in contact with - they did not even have the curtesy to reply. I would never, ever use them again.

Should have read the reviews before I bought an experience voucher for my friend 30th wedding anniversary. They are unable to make a booking, have been charged more when they tried and can't get in touch with anyone at customer service. What a rip off. Thought Virgin were a reputable company. Not so.

Do not buy these vouchers. They are fine until you have a problem. I brought some voucher from virgin for a murder mystery evening. I called all the places listed to make a booking. They had no idea what I was talking about and said that they did not host murder mystery events at all. I tried to contact virgin, there is no number where you can speak to a person and I sent several emails, not a single reply. I've been waiting months. i am still trying to contact them. Their customer service is non-existant.

Unfortunately I am unable to give a 0 or I would have done. I have had problems with my vouchers and when I have tried to find a telephone number for them apparently they no longer contact customers by phone. I have emailed several times with no reply and also tried their WhatsApp with the same outcome. I have had no problem doing the same with red letter days and therefore would strongly advise you do not purchase off virgin experience vouchers as they clearly don’t understand the meaning of good customer service and do not care about repeat customers!!!

Worst experience ever. I have a voucher which expires before there is any availability to use it. I cannot speak to anyone, as there is no telephone number. I cannot even do live chat as noone is ever online. Meanwhile Virgin Experience days have our money. This is such a rip off. And so disappointing as this was a gift from my teenage daughter.
