We had a bathroom, an en-suite and a cloakroom fully refitted by Wickes during 2020. The buying process was fairly well managed, the pricing was comparable with a local firm and the items that turned up (all the sinks, toilets, tiles, cabinets, radiators, showers etc etc) were all pretty much fine and in line with the pricing. The Wickes admin in terms of deliveries, getting the order right and billing was a bit disappointing but probably in a covid lockdown world plenty good enough. However, the installer and the installation were appalling. The behaviour of the installer was rude, inconsiderate, selfish, lazy, dishonest and should be considered an embarrassment to Wickes. Certainly, nobody in my street who came across them will ever use Wickes! Then on top of that it was entirely covid unsafe. Not a glove nor mask in sight over the 6 weeks and not a moments hesitation to march in to every room in our house and loom over us talking and spitting expansively. Then, the actual work or output was equally appalling. He was like a disinterested teenager watching youtube with one eye while squirting sealant all over everything - honestly, my blind grandmother would have done a neater job. Mosaic tiles are buck toothed, worktops have huge gaps for water to get in to and ruin, the flushes on 2 out of 3 toilets needed to be replaced or refitted since they left and literally 45 minutes after they gave me my electric certificates and left on the last day I had to call an emergency electrician to sort out the wiring on the spotlights they'd installed because the switch started smoking .... yes, literally smoke, burning smell then it tripped the RCD. Wickes did seem willing to send back the same installer to work on things but I'd heard enough of his lies and excuses and been through the 'snagging' process with him so many times that I couldn't bear it. As a result I've spent a small fortune of my own money fixing things. Wickes have offered £75 and no apology as a gesture as I've already sorted the most urgent bits. Really disappointing, I have a good Wickes kitchen well fitted a few years ago. Its all down to the installer - if you get a bad one you're stuffed and Wickes will try extraordinarily hard to claim that its simply an issue between you and the installer - not their problem at all. Don't believe anything on their website about one point of contact, an integrated service or "its got our name on it". If things go wrong you're on your own to fight it out with an installer you didn't get to pick yourself.

My delivery failed to arrive on time. 28 working days that came to an end 4 November. It's now 10 November and I still don't have an ETA to deliver the item I purchased. Not only this but an assembly advisor of the summerhouse company (Shire) arrived on site today 10 November advising that they won't be able to deliver the summerhouse due to the size of my front entrance. This is now getting beyond ridiculous....

Customer services appalling The customer services for this company is absolutely Appalling! I called about and item I recieved which was meant for someone else and they said they would sort this and get my item re delivered and they would contact me to let me know what was happening with the item! I heard nothing back and then when asked for a refund they wouldn’t give me a refund!!!! Because they wanted the item back and when I said we were in self isolation they said they couldn’t refund us until our self isolation was up! Our order was £127 worth and the order we recieved was £5 worth!! They don’t care about customer and don’t want to help anyone out! And when asking for a manager to sort this out I didn’t get a call back!!! Feel let down!

I would like to know if anybody else has had problems with reliability of Wicks external light fittings. Fitted Floodlight with PIR 17 months ago but the LED light is no longer working. I have fitted several different types of PIR lights and found you would be lucky to get 2 years or more. I will no longer fit any more light fittings from Wicks.

Very poor experience and will be taking my business elsewhere in future. I needed to add an item to an existing bulk order and despite contacting them through their website chat and also by phone I was informed both times that the system they use does not allow changes to an order once it has been placed. Building supply requirements can change and not having the ability to add to an existing order means I'll be seeking an alternate supplier in future. All my future delivery's will not have your name on it.

We ordered 2 bathroom fits Jan 20. Delivery ready for fitting was end Jul 20, fitting from mid Aug 20. First issue the items delivered were not stored properly by the delivery men. A worktop warped and therefore was less than perfect when fitted. The next issue was that an additional charge was made by Wickes for fitting porcelain tiles. A duplicate charge was picked up on the fitters invoice which had to be challenged. Its now Nov 20 and one bathroom is still not completed awaiting missing cabinet shelves. In the other bathroom the fitted toilet overflows when filling.

I unfortunately spent £440.00 buying French doors from these sharlatons and this is where my disaster with them begins. The doors arrived on the very last day of time slot given with limited and indeed poor instructors how to fit them however fit them we did. First the frame which wasn't plumb and the top was 5mm wider than the bottom but with a little jigery pockery we got it fitted due to the fact we had a professional doing it. Once the frame was fitted we fitted the slave door only to discover the keep plate was missing, then whilst fitting the locking door it was discovered that the storm guard on that door was missing leaving a 1 inch gap at the bottom. Then worst of all when attempting to lock it the lock doesn't work either. I immediately called wickes customer services who requested photos which I sent and was promised a call back as soon as they had spoken to their supplier, here I am a week on with a building that's insecure meaning my insurance is null and void, and that I can't leave my house I have water pouring in 3 children in the house and Wickes are doing nothing I have spent many hours on the phone. They can't get hold of their supplier, and will not give me a refund either until they have their door back despite the fact they are a multi million pound company and I can't afford to get new doors until I get my money back. So they want me to have French door size gapping hole in my building in mid November because their supplier isn't getting back to them. They keep passing the buck to their supplier which funnily enough i don't even know and will not accept that my contract is with them, Wickes is the name on my bank statement, Wickes is the name on my receipt. I am demented with them. Every day I call them every day they promise to call me back and never do!!!! The stress this has caused you can't imagine they have effectively stolen my hard earned cash and left me with an insecure leaking building that's getting damaged. Worst consumer service I've ever experienced.

Wickes are really really bad at customer service. I have spent the last 6 days trying to speak to someone to have a new kitchen I ordered rescheduled to be delivered for another date. No responses to emails or no answers to their telephone. No one in store to help out either. Avoid avoid avoid. What is wrong with this company. Get your act together or we will collate information from customer to air on watchdog programme on BBC.

Purchased £600 worth of 6x6 fence panels by debit card online. Notified of delivery day. Delivery day came and went 3rd November, no fence panels. Checked on their useless site and it said they had been delivered!!!! I found the company who were supposed to deliver my panels, a company called Wincanton who are "proud" to be working with Wickes, filled in query form online. I also engaged in Live Chat online at Wickes, nice person who didn't come up with an answer but promised to complete a customer service form online for me. I did likewise. Wickes customer service phone number is useless, it hangs up on you. I managed to find a phone number but it just kept playing Wickes advertisements and no-one would answer. I'm angry and upset, this is THEFT. I won't be leaving this alone, Ombudsman and the bank next. How dare they take money and not deliver, but worse, claim delivery made! And no REAL person to talk to on the telephone is despicable. Order number 617558289, if any decent and honourable Wickes employee is interested.

Couldn't even get an order in for worktops I was interested in, because they wouldn't even send a sample! Saw worktops I liked online but couldn't get a sample, so went instore. Nothing there and no interest from the staff. Tried online chat - same dreary, uninterested response. They expect you to invest hundreds of pounds in something you can't even see properly and can't assess the quality of! All other worktop retailers offer samples and I don't mind paying for that - but Wickes think this is somehow beneath them. Customer services non-existent, online chat curt and unhelpful and couldn't get through on the phone, though I expect that would be the same dreary experience. I will never bother with this awful organisation again. They deserve to go bust.

Absolutely terrible service 😡 Right from the start we had no fridge freezer, washing machine or splashbacks delivered, the oven didn't work, fitter didn't turn up. I had to ring customer services every time to find out what was going on, even had to ring Electrolux to organise an engineer to come out and fix the oven. In total we had to take 7 days off work unpaid to take delivery of items plus wait for fitters and an engineer. We paid in full at the start of the process and have been treated with disdain ever since. Ended up losing money(loss of earnings). Absolutely disgusting Wickes. Phil Spencer I would disassociate myself from this lot while your good character is just about still intact. Never again 😡😡😡

On 18th July I paid £3599.99 for a conservatory from Wickes web site. It claimed to be in stock and delivery would be within 28 days. On 18 September parts finally arrived but some were for full height kit as ordered and some were for dwarf wall kit and some (roof glazing bars) were damaged and unusable. I dealt with at least nine customer service people over this issue, they received photos and accepted that I had wrong and damaged parts but just keep blaming supplier Euramax who failed to respond at all to anyone. I was left with tall windows a short frame and an unusable roof. I only finally received replacement parts on 26th October. 100 days since payment

Poor kitchen fit, items failing, items damaged. 3 years later still having issues, high gloss units cracking, replaced once and they've done it again, Wickes now refusing to honour the lifetime warranty. Avoid, avoid, avoid

People who ever shops WICKES in Staines make sure check your bills before leave from store. Misleading price from LABEL to the system. Incorrect prices I bought two grey adhesive from Wickes in Staines and found the price on the label is stating as £9 where the system is telling to the cashier as £13. The cashier is adamant the price is correct. Therefore, I have to go and take a screen shot of the label (Tag Price on the self) on the self and prove the price is wrong. The Staffs, Cashier or Manager who came to check the price

The biggest regret is ordering from this company. My order was placed end of July and I had 7 weeks notice for delivery. Not too bad and I booked workmen to start on the supposed delivery date. My order came and it was incomplete plus Wickes had charged me for some things which I do not need (now sitting in my back garden as they will not take it back) I called Wickes and complained that my order was incomplete and they told me they knew and would be delivered on 28th Oct. 2020, this was 5 weeks after 1st delivery and supposed delivery date. First complaint was I would not have found this out if I hadn't spent several minutes calling customer service and waiting. Then come the 28th and only 1door was delivered. Been calling customer services since and they are passing me from pillar to post. So, over 2 months after I started with Wickes, my kitchen is still not finished. (See picture below) I agree with some of the other reviews here, avoid Wickes by all means, they will frustrate you!!

I had Wickes design & fit kitchen for my mum to help with her poor mobility being 76 with arthritis & dementia. As non of us have fitted a kitchen our selves we let Wickes guide us through the procedure which went well. Wickes builders turned up on the 14/9/20 & preceded over the next fortnight to fit the kitchen. On completion of kitchen I went to use a plug socket to find it "loose" so I checked the rest & found another loose at this point I decided to carry out a full check of there work " AND WAS HORIFIED AT WHAT I FOUND". The builders hadn't even followed the design plans, 1. Double plug socket missing . 2. Full length cabinet end not fitted. 3.Teal Splashback not fitted as per design. 4. Fridge partition wall missing & corner cabinet next to fridge side is not secure. 5. Two inch gap in cupboard under sink so that things fall down the side & back panel bodge fitment. 6. Window sill has aluminium trim fitted which was not part of design & has been cut uneven. 7. Wiring under induction hob touching drawer when opened and closed & hob protection plate NOT fitted. "THIS COULD POTENTIALY OF SET HOUSE ON FIRE" 8. Two plug sockets loose. 9. Wall plastering not painted (which was never mentioned that we would haft to paint ourselves). 10. At the end of each days building work Nothing was cleaned plaster over spray on windows/walls/washing machine and debris all over carpets including screws/bolts & metal filings which could of went into my mums feet or the dogs. 11. Builders created water leak on the first day from boiler drain pipe, (repaired myself). 12. When kitchen was designed items were missed (carpet trim/flooring trims to cover gap). 13. Part of the kitchen still hasn't turned up (Bin kit that attaches to cupboard door), I`ve been given three delivery dates which I`ve taken off work to be in for "& still no delivery". I believe we have been over quoted on materials as there seems to be a lot left. **""" WHAT EVER YOU DO STAY AWAY FROM WICKES ST ALL COSTS"""**.

Really pleased so far with the service - new kitchen design and purchase with Rob Lancey @newport road cardiff branch. Rob shared his experience as a kitchen fitter and now design assistant and helped make the kitchen right for my needs and budget. No pushy sales here, just good old fashioned customer service which I value.

DO NOT PURCHASE A KITCHEN FROM WICKES! We purchased our kitchen back in June from the Wickes Hanworth branch. We were told kitchen fittings can take around 10-14 days to complete.....this was far from the case! Due to a mess up by the store our original templating appointment for our work tops was cancelled! The store were well aware of this cancellation, yet no one bothered to communicate that to us or our kitchen fitter. This resulted in our kitchen being fully removed even though our kitchen could not progress, as the vital appointment for our worktops had not been rebooked! It took myself and our kitchen fitter a whole week of calling round trying to get answers before finally he suggested we write an email to customer service. I even tried to speak to the store manager at Hanworth but conveniently he was never free to speak to me or even call me back to give us an explanation of what had gone so wrong, it is shocking how poor the customer service is at this store! The only member of staff at this store who I have any praise for was our fitter Phil Blower, he really is an absolute diamond. Considering the pressure they put on him throughout this he stayed professional and worked long days to make sure we got our kitchen fitted as quickly as he possibly could. My email was finally responded to by a lady called Ripa Ahmed. To start with she was very helpful in rebooking the templating appointment that we needed to progress with our kitchen refurb. However as it turns out she is yet another member of staff who is running this company into the ground with her absolutely shameful customer service skills! She was rude, hugely insensitive and showed absolutely no understanding or empathy towards the stress and living conditions we had been left to deal with. It seems all she cared about was covering her own back in terms of making sure she wasn’t over compensating. If she is assigned to you to resolve your customer service issue.....request someone else, sadly you will not be treated fairly by this lady! Our kitchen refurb took a total of 7 weeks!Being without a kitchen with a young toddler running round has been a living nightmare! We don’t have the luxury of space in our house which meant our living room was piled high with boxes of kitchen utensils and appliances, our dining room part of the kitchen was stacked up with the half built cupboards and appliances that couldn’t be made due to the delays with the worktops.....yet Ripa repeatedly reminded us that she had made sure we had a liveable working space.....our situation was far from liveable! (Photos of our liveable dining space that was apparently acceptable!) I actually ended up having to partially move in with family over the 7 weeks as the downstairs of our house was too dangerous for a toddler to be around. After the kitchen was finally finished it then took nearly 2 weeks for the skip to be collected off of our drive....again that was only through more chasing our end to get that gone! Ripa thought it acceptable to compensate with a splash back we didn’t want and was not in our original kitchen plan and £100! I’ve got to be honest this was an absolute insult. Bare in mind we had incurred costs with other companies like storage for the carpet that was delayed due to that not being able to go ahead when there was a kitchen piled up in my living room, the travel costs I spent driving my daughter back and forward from family as our home was not a safe environment for her, the tiler we lost due to the delay and him being contracted for another job, and the endless phone calls I’ve made, I would love to know the cost of those! So as far as the £100 goes it’s barely even covered the expense we’ve had to pay out. On a side not my mum also purchased a kitchen at the same time as us, that’s over 20k on kitchens and yet again she’s had far from an easy ride to! Delays with appliances means her kitchen won’t be completed either. I’m pregnant and sadly due to complications, no doubt due to the stress we’ve been under these past 2 months over all this, I was not going to risk anymore unnecessary stress through my pregnancy chasing a fair outcome, but I’m hoping documenting our experience will result in at least one person going elsewhere. If you are looking into a new kitchen honestly don’t waste your time on Wickes.
