I telephoned Wickes in Wakefield this morning to ask how I could purchase a Hozelock Compact 2 in 1, a Hozelock Sprinkler and a Hozelock multi spray head. I asked because I am 73 and I am classed as extremely vulnerable and so did not wish to enter the store. The woman on the phone said that Wickes staff were vulnerable as well (fair point) and if I wanted it I would have to go in store and get it or I could Click & Collect. I went on line, checked availability, put the items in my basket, selected click and collect then a banner came up to say that click & collect wasn't available at this store. I repeated the process again for the Barnsley store and the same banner appeared. I telephoned Wakefield again and spoke to the same woman who frankly couldn't have cared less. I rang my son in law who said that he would go to Wakefield and get these items for me, about 20 minutes after leaving me he phoned to say that staff told him that the Compact 2 in 1 hose reel was not in stock. I told him that their website showed 4 in stock a hour earlier and when I checked again then it still showed 4 in stock. My son in law found another member of staff who he said just wasn't bothered at all. He left Wickes and went to Argos where he got me everything that I wanted, in future Wickes gets a wide berth from me.

Edinburgh store - click & collect service not being manned due to staff shortages - understandable but rude customer service personnel inexcusable. The store itself is an accident waiting to happen with trolleys loaded with goods blocking aisles and preventing access to products. Social distancing measures poorly implemented. Have to return tomorrow to collect my click and collect goods that weren’t available because this is not being manned.

as with several other customers I have found the website useless. I can only guess that there is no one looking after it which due to the epidemic can be explained. I have tried to order several items for delivery and on the purchasing page they say that it is in stock only to be told on the delivery page it is not in stock. I think that the website has been thought through and it would be better if the deliveries option is cancelled as Wickes reviews seem to be getting a battering. It is unfortunate as I have had a good service from Wickes over several years.

What a joke I ordered £165 worth of paint on 6/4/20 for next day delivery after phoning the delivery company every day to be told tomorrow will be delivered I gave up after a week and was told my refund is being processed. Over a month later still no refund and customer service phone line not available constantly engaged , emails not answered.

They are having a laugh.. I've just ordered item online after checking stock availability, paid for it and moment after I've received an email saying that the order has been canceled without giving any reason or explanation. Money has been taken but they say it will be refunded. Minute after I got the email asking how satisfied I was with Wickes service. Wickes is this for real? I wanted to leave a review but during the process T&C (under no. 5 section) says that they are going to use my personal data in secure manner but they aren't responsible for any fraud etc that may happened. This service is a real joke. Avoid, avoid, avoid

Has anyone shown or told Wickes how to operate a website? Judging by my experience, NO. I was after five bags of Derbyshire stone, which upon the first time of looking said it was out of stock. Fair enough. When it was in stock it would not allow me to add it to my basket. Tried numerous times from different devices so i know it wasn't my end. Out of stock again the next time, and then it was back in stock but at 6.25am, 25mins after the website was allowing click and collect it then said it was not accepting anymore orders because of high demand. Tried very first thing the next day at 6am, bearing in mind that the previous day and right up until i went to place the order there were 170 in stock, only to be told "out of stock". Went and bought from Band Q in the end even though it was dearer. I was more successful a couple of weeks earlier with the online order for some wood, however one male staff member at the Bognor Regis branch was like a little Hitler and was also a miserable git................pity the poor staff who had to work with him

One star is too generous for Wickes! Don’t ever buy from them - that’s my advice. They are thieves!!!! Have stolen nearly £50 of my money - no goods delivered. I contacted customer services, they took over a week to contact me. Said they’d look into it and have ignored me ever since. WICKES WILL ROB YOU!!!

I placed an order for a garden gate on 27th of March 2020. It was delivered on time on the 4/4/20. The garden gate was an shop ex display, the price was taken off , you could see clearly that the tag was ripped and the staple clips was still there, and the gate was damaged and scratched. I refused delivery, the driver took photos and he told me that he would get someone to contact me. I waited 6 days and I heard nothing. I email customer service and they simply replied with an automated mail that someone will contact me shortly. Nobody ever did. On the 10th or April, I decided to ring. NIGHTMARE. After 40 minutes in the queue I spoke with a chap and we did go through everything and he told me that all it was sorted and the refund money will be with me 5-7 days. Hahaha. After 10 days of no money I gave another ring and Waite again 45 minutes to speak to another chap, and he told me that the job was done but they just didn’t click it to proceed. Human error. In the end he apologise and ensured me that MY MONEY will be with me in another 5-7 days. After that, the same day a lady called me from wickes Bury to ask me what was going on and why I refused the delivery. I explained that it was damaged. And that it’s now sorted and she ring too little too late. On the 11th of May still no money in my bank. So I couldn’t not face speaking to another person, so I did the text messages with a rep called Chris. He was apologetic ( fake as usual) and told me that he is confident that the refund will take place this time ( I wanted to know why this isn’t happened the previous 2 times) but no answer. I feel that wickes are playing something bigger behind this. I think the try to keep the cash as long as possible coz of the pure survival of the company during the Covid19 issue, so they not giving refunds back to customers which in all its a lot of money. Just mine it’s £125. So I hope they all safe and well but I also hope that this is dirty from their side and with that been said, I’m hopping they do go out of business. YOU CANT PLAY WITH PEOPLE MONEY IN THISE DIFFICULT TIMES . I’m also waiting to see my phone bill and if it’s expensive those 3 long calls I’ve made I will be seeking a compensation for that too. Regretfully I will say : STAY AWAY FROM WICKES. Go to other places that they refund your money fast if it’s a problem.

I had to use Wickes as due to the lockdown most of the usual building merchants have suspended their operations... I’d ordered 2 items, shed felt and a pot of wood filler for click and collect. When I got to Wickes I had to queue for good 15 minutes for the “contactless” collection, which I couldn’t complain due to the lockdown situation. However, when I finally got my turn they first didn’t recognise my order and after rechecking twice finally brought and tossed a nearly 20kg roll of felt without any trolley (trolleys were handed out by Wicks staff at that time) so in this whole confusion in the end I forgot about the wood filler. When I then realised that on my way home (it’s a good 20 min drive) and tried to call the store it took some 5 attempts (I was constantly being disconnected) I spoke to someone who advised that there will be no problem with me either coming the following day to pick it up or otherwise it will automatically be refunded to me. As trip to the store is a whole mission I opted for refund, which was my mistake. Now 3 weeks later I still haven’t got the refund and after 3-4 chasing emails I was advised by Customer ServiceS that the store marked my collection as completed and if I want a refund I’ll need to return the item first! Needless to say but based on my experience with Wickes I’m not very likely to be shopping there in any near future...

We have just spoken to Melissa at Customers Services about an issue with a new kitchen we bought from Wickes. She was disingenuous, unhelpful, and obstructive and in helping us with our problem. We are not impressed with the quality and aspects of the kitchen and nor are we now with the after care service at Wickes. Think carefully, before purchasing a kitchen from Wickes.

Spent over £10k on a new kitchen. Quality of product was good. After sales care (i.e. customer service) was appalling. Took weeks to finally get all of the relevant items needed to finish the kitchen. There was no after sales service at the Knaphill branch of Wickes (can't speak for other branches). They genuinely don't care once the original sale has been made.

Shocked how Bad this has gone. Spent my late fathers inheritance on a Bathroom designed by Wickes, which they did design very well,(Alot of money spent £6,000) But my problems a year after the installation in 2019 have now started to rear their ugly head in over a handful of issues..... Due to Amateur/ cowboy finishing that I am now having to chase up for them to come back out and amend hopefully before 2020 is out. The contractor was based In Burton Upon Trent initially came across well his tiling was on the money but the finishing on the wooden unit looks as if it has been finished by someone that has never done woodwork or even seen wood before!!!. The bath panel has now been distorted out of shape as was installed wrong. A piece of the top has been added wonky and unsealed so is now going moldy( see picture), Bottom base of unit has been cut uneven so now it doesn't sit flush to strip! A catalogue of errors Wickes should be ashamed by the end result of one of the contractors they have sent out! PS. I wait with baited breath to see how they will rectify this situation. Just not good enough for the money!!!!!! Please see pictures!

Rarely have I had to deal with such a bunch of incompetent half wits. I received notification that my order was ready to collect, so I went to pick it up. I was behind a guy in the queue who they were trying give the wrong parts to, so I had to wait 20 minutes while they sorted this out. My turn came. My order wasn't ready, I had to wait 15 minutes for it to be picked - just 5 items. The smaller pieces of my order were given to me in a bag, which I took home without checking. When I got home I found one item was missing. Back to the shop. When I started to work I found that a clip was missing from one component. Back to the store. Next I found a seal missing from another component. Back to the store. It was very clear that I was considered a nuisance for coming back with all these faults. No apology. They simply could not have cared less. Unfortunately I had to place another order so that I could get exactly matching parts. It took 3 days before I got a notification that my order was ready to collect. Guess what? It wasn't ready. In fact, nobody's order in the entire queue was actually ready, so we all had to wait for everyone's orders to be picked. No apology.

Placed an order end of March, delivery date was for 17/4/20. Delivery never arrived, even though has text the night before stating it was going to be delivered an planned. Left it a few days as assumed delays due to coronavirus. Then tried to contact wickes - each time need to queue to get on website. Sent an email, no response. So tried online chat. Queued for 45mins for an advisor who then told me the order was delivered at 10:56am. I advised them I wouldn’t queue for online chat if I had my order!! Advised them I had cctv evidence to show no delivery. He said someone will contact me from customer support within 48h and I’m still waiting. This is fraud by wickes - why are they marking their orders as ‘delivered’ (with even time of supposed delivery) when this is not the case.

I am absolutely disgusted with Wickes service. On the 29th March i ordered and paid for 20 bags of sand and 10 bags of cement. The earliest delivery was the 17th April. I was willing to wait as due to COVID19 i couldnt work. On the 15th April the Norwich branch contacted me to say the order was cancelled due to items out of stock (not my fault), i was instructed to wait 3 working days for payment to return to my bank. On the 3rd working day i checked my bank and with no payment contacted the Norwich branch who advised me to contact customer service. So I customer service and explained the situation only to be told that a refund would now (20/4/20) be issued as it wasnt issued on the 15/4/20. I will have to wait a further 3-5 days for the money to return into my bank. I paid on 29/3/20, Wickes informed me they'd ran out of stock over 2 weeks after i paid and now i am being made to wait even longer for my money that I'm entitled to because none of this was my fault it was entirely WICKES!! Please make sure when issuing refunds the Norwich branch are putting them through, i cannot work at present due to COVID19 and money is short, therefore that money can help support my family NOW! I waited for their response which I received via email 26/4/20 to be told that the refund has been processed and my money is now in my bank. Checked bank yesterday 27/4/20 bank told me that they haventvreceived any refund from Wickes. Just checked again today and still no refund in my bank. This is more than the time allocated for refunds and quite frankly this service is the WORST customer service ever. Anyone know my rights as the stress is damaging!!!
