Absolutely disgusting customer service. Still waiting since May 14th for refund for 2 ghost payments of £103.90 debited to my credit card. Charged 3 times for a phone. No result having tried to phone, email address just bounces back. Chat line absolutely useless. Directed to wrong departments, no result. Sent letter to head office recorded delivery. Still no response. Going to go into store now opened. Where next?

All items bought in past month with Argos have been extremely well made and very reasonable in price. Plus due to Coronavirus, the recipient receives a text to say the driver is on his way & the system is very thorough. The driver for Argos, Stephen Emery who delivers to our concierge in our apartment block in Borehamwood, deserves praise as he is eloquent, efficient, courteous, and an excellent advertisement for Argos. So this is an all round good review for Argos.

I have purchased the following item from ARGOS online due to corona virus. "887/3095 Wahl 4 in 1 Body Groomer and Hair Clipper Kit WM8050-800X" . The item sent to me was in a damaged box and to my shocking surprise was used as some hairs were falling from some attachments and battery compartment was clearly opened and was not sealed properly... Disgusting. I tried to send an Email on the address given on their website but it came back saying this Email address does not exist LIAR LIAR... I also tried through their LIVECHAT after spending almost 6 hours in front of my laptop try to chat with some one but all in vain ultimately I have to go personally to return this nasty item(probably infected with Covid 19). Item was taken back and refunded but without my insurance money... Wicked company. It may be an attempt of murder with corona. The item was absolutely a piece of rubbish. Does not worth even 1*. Looks like a £ shop toy... Don't want to waste my time for a review simply "don't waste your money on this toy". I bought it just because of battery life but not tested yet. So never know how long will it last. Simply millionaires becoming billionaires by looting innocent public taking advantage of Covid 19.

Just when I was thinking my experience could not get any worse, I keep finding the lack of professionalism of this company. Here is what happened. Quick Summary: On Sunday ordered an item for my daughter that was meant to arrive on the same day between 7pm and 11pm. We waited and nothing came and I never received any message or notification about it. As I mentioned in another review, I understand sometimes they can be very busy and I don't mind waiting, but at least more information should be given when there is a delay with any order. On Wednesday after several attempts and more than 1 hour waiting to contact them, they told me they will re schedule my delivery for same day between 7pm and 11pm.. Guess what! Again it didn't come!!!! Here is where it gets even more interesting , at this point I already know I won't be buying anything else from ARGOS (it is not the first time this has happened to me). I contacted them again today Thursday (again more than 1 hour trying to get someone from their customer service to answer. Once again I was re assured my delivery will be arriving at any time of the day. GUESS WHAT! It did not arrive! so I called back and I have been re assured for the 3rd time they will re schedule my delivery. For anyone thinking of using ARGOS, I highly recommend other options. AMAZON works perfect and I have never had an issue with them, and when the delivery is delayed they contact you and explain why and when it will come. I cancelled other things and wasted 3 days waiting for a delivery that never came. Not to mention the many times I had to explain to my daughter why she still does not have the gift that was promised to her. (No one from their management team had even tried to contact me about the situation).

My order didn't go through, so I got no email, no confirmation, no receipt, nothing. But I was charged and after a week received the goods, which I though I wound't get, so I ordered again. Paid twice and can't get refund for the spare one, disgraceful. I hope Amazon eat Argos alive now we will be more likely to shop online. It will be nice to see such bad business closing its doors.

04/05/20---- I ordered an under-counter Hotpoint Freezer with auto defrost, from ARGOS @£259.99 Along with Domestic & General Insurance commenced on May 4th 2020 - @ £22.99 Cross checking the freezer price on Curry's web site the prices were identical, we needed the freezer in a hurry. Because Argos has fast track delivery option I chose them, we desperately needed a replacement quickly. I ordered and paid ‭£282.98‬ online‬ Both of us in our 70's my wife has kidney failure, dialysis 3 times a week, she is on the Vulnerable list (Shielded). All our grocery shopping is done online. There was no mention of the freezer being delivered by the manufacturer, until after I authorised payment, that came as an email announcing they were "Delivering on behalf of your retailer “please wait until closer to 11 May to book your slot.” Fast Track Delivery option was not mentioned? On May 12th 2020 I received an email from Hotpoint asking me to choose a delivery slot; the earliest date was May 14th which I booked. Had a call from the Hotpoint representative who read through the details and mentioned the freezer was manual defrost? I said I had ordered an auto defrost he checked Argos website an discovered the freezer was no longer sold by them, it was no longer on the web site. I was asked how much I paid (£259.99) and he said a Manual Defrost on Curry’s site was £199.99. I had paid the price for an Auto Defrost £259.99(Curry’s price) I was told the only option open to me, was to cancel the order get a refund and order from elsewhere. As I have already explained we were not in the position of waiting any longer, we have a grocery delivery due on May 16th. There was not an option other than to accept the miss-sold and miss-priced freezer. I have wasted an hour on the Argos chat line, contacted Argos Customer Relations/Executive Office by letter. I received an email saying that that when she gets an update from the department concerned she will get back to me, she hasn’t. June 3rd It looks like one of her subordinates has now taken the reins, she is asking if I have a screenshot of the original web page??? I would advise everyone not to think of buying from Argos, go elsewhere, the business including the online dept. are totally out of control, and cannot, and should not be trusted. They are obviously not interested in price matching; if they were the problem would be solved. Their motto must be screw the customer for what they can get!

DISASTER. I wanted to order a laptop and to home delivery it. The laptop was still on the list online but I found out I could not order it and deliver to my home neither collect it in any shop. No stock. Then I ordered another one and was obligated to collect it in London, I live in Birmingham. I ordered the laptop, a mouse, a bag and a Norton antivirus. 4 items. I god only three of them antivirus was missing. I realised it when I got home. I contacted the phone number of the shop where I collected. So far I have contacted more than 20 argos numbers but all of them speak robot and tell go to online chat at argos.co.uk. I go to online chat and what does it say? Just a sec... All our helpers are currently chatting to other customers You're up in about 28 minutes This is not a serious store and a serious costumer service. This is a disaster

I placed an order online for a gift, selecting the pay now and collect option. Order was accepted & payment taken. 3 days later I receive a note that order is being cancelled. No explanation. Leaves me in the lurch as no time to order another gift. Online chat completely useless and cannot access any reason for cancellation. Apparently the only way to raise a complaint/query is by sending a letter to head office (and incurring postage costs). Not the level of customer service you would expect in this day & age.

Purchased a Mcgregor lawn feed spreader for £20.00.Used it once and it was completely useless. The flow from the spreader is not even and the granules clog up at both ends.I have ended up with a really burnt lawn which will take ages to restore if it ever does. It was NOT the fertiliser as I did some parts of the lawn by hand and they are fine.Complete waste of money and it's now in the rubbish bin where it belongs!

I ordered items to the value of £1200 for next day delivery. No sign of items next day. No communication at all and spent three hours over next three days trying to speak to someone. Chat line was too busy and kept cutting me off and it took a week to respond on Messenger. Was eventually told items were with Yodel and would be delivered on Friday - 4 days after delivery was due. I had to ask for a tracking number. Still no sign of items. Spent ages trying to get through to Argos again and cancelled the order. 7 days later am still waiting for a refund as Argos has not yet received returned items from Yodel. This the most appalling service I have ever experienced. Do not use.

Paid for next day delivery. Delivery was 4 days overdue. The item was left on the doorstep - did not bother to ring the doorbell. Abysmal service from Argos and Yodel to the point i will never use either again. Not at all customer focussed. Queries on their website took over an hour to respond when a ‘wheres my item button, and trcking number on the reciept would have saved time effort money and frustration.

AVOID. TAKE MONEY FOR ITEMS THAT THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE IN STOCK. CHARGE FOR DELIVERY FOR ITEMS THEY DON'T HAVE IN STOCK. THEN CLAIM YOU RETURN AN ITEM YOU DIDN'T RECEIVE IN THE FIRST INSTANCE, AND OF COURSE, NO REFUND, NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE, NO ONE REPLIES TO ONLINE CHAT. SHOCKING COMPANY.
