I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent rental experience. I pre-booked the car one hour before arrival, only to be told upon arrival that I needed an international driving license. According to the rental conditions highlighted on your website, I understood that I could use my regular driving license UAE license which accepted in most of Europe countries, which I have used successfully around the world. However, upon arrival, I was informed that an international driving license was required. Additionally, I was informed that I could not receive a refund, further adding to my frustration. I hope you will review your policies to prevent such issues in the future.

I regret to inform you that I encountered a concerning situation regarding a car booking made through Rentalcars.com. Upon arrival at the designated location, I was informed that the reserved vehicle was unavailable, despite having made full payment in advance. Despite my efforts to obtain a refund, my request was unfortunately denied. This incident has left me feeling defrauded and deeply dissatisfied with the services provided by Rentalcars.com. I strongly advise against engaging with this company and recommend caution to others considering their services.

I needed to rent a car locally for a short period of time. They recommended Routes at the airport, which was fine. The problem was that Routes doesn't rent to local people. So, if I have a driver's license from the state that I am renting from they will not rent to me. Rentalcars.com asked for my residence information when getting my credit card information so both companies should have seen at the time of the reservation that I didn't qualify and the rental should have been rejected on the spot. And now, even though technically, Routes cancelled the rental because I don't meet the requirements (and this information was hidden in the small print), I am being charged a $75 cancellation fee. So I guess if Routes rented your car out, you would be charged for that too, since they can cancel the reservation at will and charge you the cancellation fee. So ticked off with both Routes and rentalcars.com. FRAUD and SCAM from both companies. Both get 0 stars in my book and neither will be used by me again.

Beware of booking with rental cars.com! They really screwed us over by taking our money and then not giving us a car. A reputable firm such as Hertz, Avis, National is a much safer option!

Il fallait payer 2 fois sans être remboursé J'ai loué une voiture au Canada avec ma carte Visa Français qui offre une assurance CDW. En arrivant chez Ace Car rental ils ont indiqué qu'ils avaient eu des problèmes avec des cartes Européan et ne peux pas accepter. Ils ont vu que j'avais une carte Visa Canadienne, ils ont proposé que je repay la location (à une pris plus chère) et que rentalcars me rembourser. On était environs 5 clients ou Ace essaie de faire le même scam illégale. La service à la clientèle rentalcars.com réponds (très sporadiquement )à côté de ma demande et refuse toute remboursement, même après avoir montrée toute les preuves que j'était conforme à toute les exigences spécifier. Il vaut mieux louer ailleur que rentalcars.com et Ace car rental.

booked with rental cars.com. picked up car fromSXT. went well until we had a medical emergency and had to return car 3 days early on a 21 day rental. ER doctors note. SXT would have given a refund, but booked through rental cars.com because we paid them. Rentalcars.com denied claim. All other companies used during vacation were cooperative. Air lines, ski lift tickets and hotels. I will never book with rentalcars.co m again and inform everyone the bad experience. Bad enough had to cut vacation short, but to not get reimbursed for things not used.

Lost whole two day booking as cancellation feeTerrible.... absolutely terrible. I cancelled a booking within the time limit but they still charged me the whole rental as cancellation fee. I recommend you dont use rentalcars.com, esspecialy where there is a possibility that you may need to change your booking. They are difficult to contact and there is no contact number in their website. Its almost like a scamming company that takes your money and you cant do anything about it.... Even 1 star is too good for them. Absolutely horrible.

Must still pay for a car I booked through RentalCars.com despite being denied access to it. I phoned the rental car company when we landed as instructed and they said they would send the shuttle. Without telling me, they never sent the shuttle and went home for the night. I had to rent a second car. I tried to work with rental cars.com customer service. But they said I have to pay for it anyway because I didn't call them that night.

Rentalcars.com refused to refund the rental car payment on cancellation ignoring their own terms and conditions. They just state through their own customer service that the admin fee is the cost of the rental so no refund. I contacted my bank and they couldn't resolve my case. I definitely would not recommend this company. Even the phone number to contact them was incorrect on the app so that I couldn't contact them from the rental desk, only getting a foreign recorded message. What a scam company. I will never use this company again ever. They are now owned by Bookingdotcom. My advice is to book direct with the car rental company and avoid rentalcars.com completely.

Scam organisation!!!!! Rented a car in Sicily. Insurance that rentalcar offers isn't accepted by the big rental company at the airport. I had to take their insurance and pay an extra 550 euro's. Contacted rentalcars.com on the phone and they told me to pay the insurance and I would get the amount back. A week later they wouldn't pay me back and offered me 50 euro's refund. A Scam company and I won't use it ever again.

I am still waiting for a returned deposit after I returned the car in perfect condition and with the correct fuel amount in the car. They have held on to my £330 deposit for 8 weeks now and don't seem to have any intention of chasing it up or returning the deposit. I feel I have lost this money to the wind. If it wasn't for them being connected to booking dot com I would be certain that they are scammers. Do not use them, none existant customer service and your rental cost will be 4 x what you pay for renting the car. I wont ever again use them again and I have told everyone I know to steer clear..

Prepaid for a week's rental in Albania. When arrived, would not honor my rental which left us without a car. Then to add to the insult rentalcars. com would not return the money that I prepaid for the car. Avoid at all costs! Not worth the supposedly cost savings. Rent from a reputable company instead!!!

We booked a rental car from the Ft. Myers airport. At the last minute our flight was changed to land in Tampa. We called and talked to someone (who was very nice) and said we would have no trouble getting a full refund. When we picked up the car at the Tampa airport, we were told there would be no problem getting a refund for the original car. After that, everyone we talked to at rentalcars.com would not give us a refund and the last person I talked to hung up on me. Today I get an email from them being told a refund has been issued. The cancellation fee was the full amount of the original reservation and the refund was 0. Will not use again and will recommend others not to use.

Booked an "AWD or similar" car to get me from the airport to the ski resort I was staying at. When checking in I was told that the class booked was a 2 wheel drive car and I had to pay to upgrade to the vehicle class that I wanted. I appreciate vehicles given may differ to the make/model specified but the attribute I was most concerned about was having an all wheel drive vehicle. Customer services aren't no help after the event either, won't be using RentalCars.com ever again and I'd advise anyone else reading this review to book directly with the company they're seeing the good deals from.

Please NEVER EVER book with this company! I wish I read reviews before booking with them. They never answer calls on emergency line, they showed up an hour late then they were supposed to,and they said that because We are late,we lost our car and our money. Plus ,we had to rent in the middle of the night from another company for a very big price.I think it’s a scam.They lure you to rent from them at a cheap price,then cancel your reservation,and after that,another company (which I think belongs to them) offers you another car at a very big price AVOID THEM!!!!!! I definitely will not book again with them

Rented a car almost a month ago. I canceled 2 weeks later, however the company tried to keep my money. I was on the phone with them for almost 2 hours. They sent me an email stating they are refunding my full balance, however they kept $50. My reservation states they will keep $50 if you cancel 24 hours or a no show. I first canceled on the 12th of March which I didn't receive a cancelation email. I called and canceled with a 50 shortage. I will get my money returned going through my credit card company. I will research the BBB and turned them in as a complaint.
