I dont know what happend 15/6/2021 . I had to wait more than seven hours to reseave assistance . If RAC has reached that level of unrisposibulity stranding some one away from the family for so many hours ,they have to be ashamed for this kined of tretment to there customers .And we bearly use this servise in the year. Customer assistant on the phone saying after 4 hours of wighting ,that i have to wait one and a half hour ,and after agian the same. This must be the biggest joke ever . Teribul , teribul .

My partnerbroke down at 7pm and phoned at 8pm to say he broken down my 22 months old son and I was in the car and my partner still waiting and it's now 12:43am this is beyond a joke

An absolute disgrace! Waiting for more than 4 hours and was then told they didn't have a patrol car so we wouldn't be rescued by them. Said they were going to try find a local mechanic (late on a Sunday evening by then!!). Had to take a (very expensive) taxi to get back home with my young child. Finally another company came out to tow car away. RAC are useless and a waste of money!

Don't take out breakdown cover with this company. My car broke down 18.30PM and I called RAC to come and help. They gave me an estimated 2hrs of arrival. After 3 hours and 45 minutes they then told me it might take another 6 hours for someone to come and help. Since 18.30pm the 3 hours estimation turned into 9 hours. A driver has been assigned and made it by 3.30am. Got home at 4.45am. Nearly half a day gone. Disappointed and not worth buying their breakdown cover.

Left my elderly parents abandoned for 7 hours. All they had was txt messages saying they were really busy and had would be updated. After 4 hours a message to say handed down to another breakdown service but didn’t show. Had to pick parents up myself, had to get a taxi to broke down vehicle next day for pick up, yes you heard correct, next day!!

Absolute terrible service. The wrong truck was brought to take my car away. Was told another one would come and then it was canceled (this was at 10am) Then at 5:30pm get a call saying I’ll have a pick up truck after 8:30 pm. 11pm still no update !! Waited 20 minutes on hold to find out what was going on. So fed up waisting my time and energy finding out what’s happening.

Same as the rest. We're 70 (two women), broke down roadside 6pm last night. They promised the world, broke all of their promises, eventually they got us home 3.15am.

My daughter and her partner broke down in corwen at 1 pm yesterday they had towed off the road..they are needing the R.A.C.to take them home.they still there at 2 this morning.shocking service.do not go with the R.A.C terrible company

3o days complaining Sold me faulty battery 4 year guarantee Will not replace Had to purchase new one No issues. Leave Rac change now Take your hard earned money then do not care

Broke down on A1 dual carriage way 6pm (already hungry), rac said within 45 mins, them 90 mins...4 hours later they arrived with almost no updates, and any updates provided were wrong (lies or didn't have any idea). Arrived home 1am on tow truck, extremely hungry, thirsty and furious with the garbage service provided by rac. Will not be renewing my policy and partner already cancelled his rac subscription. This is so far from "your 4th emergency service".

Definitely leave 4 year guarantee on battery Only year old Faulty Will not replace Had to pay for another battery No issues now. Leave Rac Owe me money

Absolute Joke! I have been waiting for Recovery for 13 hours! In a petrol Station in the centre of Sheffield! When I originally called I was told 2-3 hours max!

Utterly hideous experience, this is an absolute shambles of a company! We were stranded at 9pm with 2 young kids just 20miles from home. On calling they advised us it would be a maximum of 5 hour wait and that they wouldn’t call us back until they were 10mins away?! After an hour kids were getting restless so I took a taxi home with them and left poor hubby by the roadside. After multiple calls to them for a status update they finally called him at 12.40am to say they were terribly sorry for the delay and they would call back in 10 mins to give him an accurate time. 1hour later he calls them to find that they only logged the callout at 12.40am and they told him he had another 7hours to wait (even then they weren’t entirely sure). After getting frustrated with their customer service team they finally mentioned the company due to pick him up (not RAC but a recovery company). He called them directly, they said they could get to him in two hours, but they agreed that they would arrange pick up in the morning the following day with a 1 hour notice so that he can come home to sleep. How the hell is RAC unable to organise anything like this or at least communicate properly with their customers to work out the best solution. Thank goodness we were relatively close to home, I cannot imagine what we would have done with two small kids if we had been far away! Utter disgrace of a company, we will be cancelling with them and going back to the AA.

If I could leave zero stars I would. @TheRAC_UK I am going to review your service on every social platform I can as to the disgusting service you offer, broke down 11.15 am Friday finally home 11.55 am Saturday, 7 vehicles to get me home= 24hrs 20 mins. DO NOT USE RAC, YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY

Currently sat in Chippenham services and have been for 6 and a half hours. Only had one call from RAC. I have had to phone them for updates and am constantly being fobbed off as they are apparently very busy. I think I will be changing my cover

Stranded for almost 11 hours. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I broke down at 5.25 pm, car undrivable due to clutch issue - took RAC over 5 hours to send through to a third party because they had no one available. Then instructed for the wrong vehicle. I was 15 minutes from home, and didn't get home until 4.30 IN THE MORNING. "sorry, this isn't the service we provide" Well, it is, because that's what happened to me. And they don't offer any compensation - all they are prepared to do is offer me a discount on a further renewal? Why on earth would I stay with a company that would leave me stranded for that long? I'm not risking my disabled partner being stranded for that long, luckily she wasn't with me. over 11 hours I'm not getting back, the knock on effect from a sleepless night stuck in the cold was horrendous. Appalling. Avoid at all costs.
