Never Again !!!!! I have bought my cars before from Arnold Clark this time I am really disappointed I have had nothing but hassle bought a lovely 3 year old car 1st day let thin battery ran out 1 month down the line it broke down had to wait 3 hrs in the cold for the breakdown recovery to come after having to argue on the phone for a hr they agreed to book it in only to find the battery had to be replaced as it died now another month down the line it’s got more problems after another hour arguing down the phone to the manager who was very rude agreed to book it in n get it checked and fixed but only under my warranty as I’ve had it for more that 60 days I paid £500 for my warranty for peace of mind as I was told at the time of purchase that it would cover everything but when I took it in the 1st time I was told they only fixed it a because it was before the 60 days n that my warranty wouldn’t cover a new battery anyway a week without my car having to get a bus & subway I took it in n as soon as I get to the desk she said I had to pay £120 just for them to inspect it !!!!I have since took it to my own Machanic as I would not be going near Arnold Clark ever again so angry I got up at 7am to get it booked in on time & spent a week without my cat thinking they were going to fix it as I’ve only had it under 3 months 110000 pounds it cost me the manager assured me he would fix it n I get there n they say that couldn’t believe it total waste of £500 why do these people get away with this total money grabbers !!!I so annoyed & most of all very disappointed

Do not but from these delboys. Long story short...Customer service is excellent when they are trying to get your money, not so excellent when a fault occurs on the car you have bought. They ignore calls, make excuses to not come to the phone, lie to cover their own backs and try blaming a manufacturer garage instead. They had our car for three months when the problem could have been fixed by the manufacturers garage in two days. After a few weeks they finally gave us a courtesy car that was not fit for purpose and only just fit our two kids in. It was not like for like. After a few weeks the car arrived back on our drive but with the same engine malfunction light that had originally occured. Arnold Clark advert on the TV mentioned keeping key workers moving, what an absolute joke!! They then tried to sell us a different car that would have cost more per month and we would have had to start another five year plan despite having paid 8months on finance already. They also said we couldn't use the money we had already paid as a deposit as the car had depreciated in value!!! After contacting our finance company they finally got the boot up their backsides to get the car fixed properly by the manufacturer and we finally got our car back. Three months!!! Paying for a car that we hadn't even got. The stress this caused trying to juggle kids, jobs, dogs, etc. We have complained to head office several times but typically no response. Shockingly awful customer service. Do not buy!

bought a car in January and whilst my partner was changing a headlight bulb we discovered a pipe had been superglued and melted onto the coolant tank. After having an independent mechanic look at the car he told us the car also had an incorrect fuel filter, was running on one glow plug, had a broke fuel silted among many other faults that would have been looked at with the health check and full service I was told the car would have before I received it! They collected the car and fixed all of the faults (although they still claim they had sold me a perfectly good car with no faults??) but never offered me a courtesy car and without being told before they took the car are now expecting me to drive two and a half hours during a global pandemic with my child without a vehicle to collect my car myself! I’ve made an official complaint and still haven’t received a response and have been making calls to everybody but am continuously being passed from person to person. Never will I recommend or purchase a car from Arnold Clarke again.

We as a family have been buying cars from Arnold Clark for over 15 yrs with no issues until I went to a different branch (Vauxhall Linwood Paisley). No test drive as to restrictions but on inspection car looked ok apart from a couple of dents on paintwork which would get fixed. Car was delivered a week later and driver told us car was pulling to left side which he thought was the tracking. After myself and husband drove it it was clear this was not the case and it was a bigger problem. Car was taken to our nearest branch to get looked into further. Few days later was told it wasn't tracking and it needed a new steering column. Part was ordered on Fri and will not be delivered till Thursday so its goes into a 2nd week without car and not once offered a courtesy car. We only had car 4 days driving it and paying for a car to sit in the garage. This is a severe problem as it controls the car and is illegal to be sold to us as unroadworthy. And to make matters worse this car was bought for a 17yr old driver which while driving herself would not have known the impact this mistake could cause which could be catastrophic. At present I am in talks with the branch which sold us the car as someone has to take responsilbilty for this wreckless outcome and if I am not happy with the outcome proposed to me I will not hesitate to take this matter much further as an illegal car has been sold to me.

I don’t know how much this company pays people to give them a good review but it must be a lot, because I have constantly received the worst costumer service ever and I’ve only been with them for 6 months. I had loads of difficulty at the start with my car and documents etc. and the customer service was shocking, not helpful at all. And today, it was worse. I went to get my car serviced, after the service was completed I find out that there were a few issues with the car (that I’ve had for just 6 month). I called the branch to find out how there could already be issues with the car, considering I received it 6 month ago and since then we’ve been in lockdown, so it hasn’t really been running that much. I wanted to find out a bit more about this, as I thought it was ridiculous that the car already needed work. I asked the customer service adviser if he could explain what could cause the issues, because I just didn’t understand. The customer service adviser I spoke to, Ric Pratt, was obviously having a bad day or just not understanding what I was trying to ask, as he began to raise his voice at me. I asked him very nicely why he was getting so agitated, and asked him to calm down. It took a while for him to calm down and actually speak to me and not shout. I’m a teacher and I don’t even think I’ve ever raised my voice at a pupil like Ric raised his voice. I think he must of known that the company was in the wrong and became very defensive. Arnold Clarks ready needs to work on it’s customer service team, and also make sure that they cars they sell are in perfect condition before handing them to customers.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE A GOOD CAR FOR ANY SORT OF SERVICING OR MOT!!! ENGINEERS DO NOT HAVE A CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING!! I took my 3 year old BMW 4 series for a service and about 8 months later my engine exploded due to the oil filter being defective and what is now thought to not have been replaced during its service with Arnold Clark in London Road Glasgow. Still to this day (3 years on) I am still in legal action against Arnold Clark as getting the car engine replaced was costing me more than £12,000 which resulted in me having to scrap the car. I cannot express the amount of stress Arnold Clark have put myself and my family through, and even 3 years on it is still stressful. The money and time we have spent on this is unbelievable. I have had many different reports and investigations carried out on the car, It was even put into BMW Glasgow for an investigation where they stripped the full engine down to get findings. I am determined i will win this case however, not everyone will be so lucky and have the time and money for this. Please, please, please be careful.

Looking for a good deal on a car for my son ..... I saw a low mile car on AC just over what I knew it to be worth. “How much off for cash” “But sir we do not offer a discount for cash as our prices are so low. They are so low because we we price match with all other dealers” so no I can’t give anything off for cash. I always look for discount on everything I buy of higher value. I am in sales and know there are almost always variable margins. My reply to the salesman and then his manager was “ of course you can bl##dy sales match as AC have 90% of the dealerships in the city. It did not matter what make of car you looked at in the range —- Yup similar car was on sale at an AC dealer for few quid close to exact same price” How did this company get past the monopoly commission? Wont ever buy from a monopolist. J

Disgusting - Do not buy Absolutely disgusted with Arnold Clark. Purchased a car in July, which to be honest the service wasn’t great from the start. Leaving messages for a call back and getting no response. First trip on the motorway, a couple of months later we heard a noise and the windscreen seal was hanging off making the windscreen loose. Due to the pandemic couldn’t get it fixed and did a quick fix ourselves. A couple of months later, again on the motorway the cover under the engine completely fell off, a very dangerous situation. Upon calling them as this shouldn’t have happened within 6 months their response is there is nothing they could do. So basically sold a dangerous car and don’t care about it! The car should never have left the showroom.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID I wish I could give this company minus stars. They are con artists and I will be reporting to trading standards after my appalling experience. I bought a car from the Nottingham store - 3 weeks in, done around 50 miles and there has been numerous faults. Once you report one slight problem, this company do not want to know. It is impossible to get hold of staff and when you do the service is shocking - They started to accuse me of lying and throwing around false accusations, when I told them I would report them to HR, they quickly changed their tune. Mileage was flashing, dashboard was displaying faults regarding the lights, i had already had to get bulbs replaced 2 days into ownership. I took the car to my nearest store to be fixed.(which was a massive hassle to organise as again they did not want to accept liability) Upon collection I was told it was fixed and I was fine to drive away, when I got in the car the faults where still present. I proceeded to then go back inside the store and I was told I would have to wait 3 weeks for a certain car part to be delivered for my car to be fixed. (They where more than happy to allow me to drive away without telling me this). 3 weeks on I have not been contacted regarding the new part. Within the last few days the entire car has stopped working. The ignition will not start and the AA had to be called to recover a car that I have owned for 27 days. I have been flat out refused a refund despite the consumer rights act - AC are allowed one chance to fix the car, which I accepted, but this is their THIRD attempt at fixing this car as they still act blissfully unaware that I am more than entitled to my money back. This complaint and scenario is ongoing as the car is now back at my nearest store to ‘diagnose’ the new issue. This is beyond ridiculous now.

I was going to purchase BMW , got my personal presentation of the car , a number of pictures and I really liked the car , spoke to the manager on the phone regarding park exchanging my car I was given a price for part exchange and I agreed ... then my car had to have its MOT and failed miserably (amazed to me) it cost me £500 I rang Arnold Clark and said I’m going to keep mine now as I’ve spent that much it’s a Ford galaxy titanium low mileage ,, anyway they offered to give me an extra £300 trade in because if my expense I still said NO then they rang and said they would give me an extra £500 to cover all my cost ,, I still said no but then had a change of heart and said I would have the BMW , got all my documents through looked at them very closely and they had put an extra £500 in the screen price of the BMW they said they hadn’t and it was always that price so I emailed them pictures and my personal presentation with the price on the four court ... for everyone out there CHECK YOUR PAPERWORK thank goodness I saw and never bought the car

Car was booked into Inverness Motorstore for warranty work. They were made aware of the faults before the car went in. On picking up the car on return to the garage it became apparent that none of the work had been completed. Service assistant tried to fog me off saying they had to get authorisation for a part, this was a total joke as the part was easily available on the day within the town. Tyre pressure sensor light had been coming on constantly even though all pressures were fine. Was advised that they had checked the pressures and reset the fault. Had they bothered to road test the car it would have been obvious that the fault reappears straight away. Received a bad attitude from the service assistant and even worse from the service manager,Duncan when I asked to speak to him. Customer service complaint team are a complete joke and seem to have attended the same couldn't care less class as the afore mentioned Going to have another wasted day putting the car back to them, won't be taking any of their attitude this time If you can avoid this lot and take your business elsewhere to someone who does after sales service Unfortunately it's a warranty job for me and I have to perservere with them

Will never do business with this company again. Bought a 1 year old car from Arnald Clark in August 2020. Cars had a couple faults in one go (January 2021) that have stopped the car from starting. Arnald Clark receptionist advised us to take the car back to them (weekend so service team were off). Monday morning we’re told the car is under manufacturer warranty and needs to be moved, which we got charged for. Said receptionist sent an email to the Sales Manager blatantly lying stating “In no way did I tell them to bring the car here, customer refused to listen and car has been brought to us”. Manager listened to the phone call and can confirm the receptionist DID in fact tell us to send the car to Arnald Clark BUT here’s the kicker! Still refuses to pay for THEIR MISS INFORMATION as the receptionist didn’t know any better...that’s lack of training and NOT the customers fault! We’re now out £150 for a problem that Arnald Clark CAUSED!

Attended at the Bathgate branch in relation to selling my car with with the promise of a 6 day fix on that price. Two days later I returned to finalise the sale and the salesman, namely Ryan attempted to knock a further £100 off. On highlighting this to Ryan he stated that he had informed me of this and proceeded to be arrogant and argumentative. On requesting to speak with a manager, his reply was “I wasn’t there” but supported Ryan in any case arguing that I only had a part service history which was not the case. On asking why they didn’t take this into account on the day I handed the documents over, they failed to provide a reasonable explanation for this. It was evident then that the manager was prepared to support Ryan despite his incompetence, Consequently I informed them I would not be continuing with the sale and left the premises. Absolutely abhorrent customer service, Will never step foot in this establishment again...🤡🤡

Wouldn’t even give these a one star! Shocking company! Paid 12k for a car that is now worth nothing after a yr of having it! To find out that they have patched half the engine up! With only 3 month warranty! My advice too anyone wanting to buy a car AVOID these con artists at all cost! As when your buying the car from enquires their like your best friend up until the point you hand your cash over they then avoid any kind of contact with you! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!
