After a brilliant sales person sold us a new mattress, The following this is the result TRUSTPILOT REVIEW MATTRESS 15/10/2024 09/10/2024 Problems with new Painton Back care CR Mattress, To who it may concern Since we have taken delivery on the 31st May 2024 there has been a smell coming from within the mattress , we left it to air for the recommended time after the delivery as recommended instructed by Benson for beds , we had noticed that the smell had not reduced at all after a week , we decided to leave it a little longer thinking that it may be Impregnated with some kind of preservative or insect repellent or fire retardant ?, This mattress was purchased in the summer months and I slept with the window to my room left open most nights , My wife would change the bed cloths / sheets etc every week and would leave the mattress to air all day before making the bed up again It has been 5 months to date and the following is a record of my issues and problems, The smell /aroma has been over powering and would fill the bedroom at times and this has had a decremental effect on my sleep and my general health due to the lack of sleep ,On a regular basis I have been suffering with headaches /Trouble breathing /and a severe case of dry mouth with a very bad taste in my mouth all night , The smell is now transferring onto my sleeping cloths and pillows on a regular basis and we have been changing these due to the issue that we have I contacted the complaints department at Bensons Beds and an appointment was made for a visit to our home by a Technician from Emmiera Group ltd on Bensons for beds behalf who Benson for bed employ as a third party , On Wednesday 9th October ,and we were hoping to get this matter resolved as a matter of urgency . If the above issue cannot be resolved then I would have no option other than to approach , The Furniture and Home improvement Ombudsman as my entitlement to do so . 15/10/2024 UPDATE Following a visit by the technician from Emmiera group I am very very unhappy with the method on which the test was carried out the test was carried out using his sense of smell only ? [No other equipment was used ] we all as human beings have different sense’s and this I found very unsuccessful and I was made to feel inadequate and told to give the mattress another two months to allow the mattress to complete its Gass off procedure my comments was as above and I refused to accept his findings and recommendation’s and intend on taking the matter further, I will of course update Trustpilot accordingly please see report below VISIT DETAILS DATE CHECKED: 09/10/2024 TECHNICIAN: MATT NUTTALL APPOINTMENT: 09/10/2024(11:00-15:00) ENVIRONMENT: EXCELLENT CONDITION: GOOD MAINTENANCE: SOILED: AWAITING INSTRUCTIONS: BATCH LABEL PHOTO: No CUSTOMER AGREES: TIME TAKEN: 40 mins No REPAIRS COMPLETED: No DELIVERY PROCCESS: GOOD Into the home by retailer PRODUCT BOOKLET READ: No Appointment Outcome: Report Only REPORT ACCEPTED: Report Only Reason No INVALID SIGNATURE REFUSED: Report Requested By Client No NOTES: THE 1ST CUSTOMER'S BUILD IS MEDIUM. ISSUES FOUND ISSUE 1 ISSUE CODE: BEDS - INVALID CLAIM TECHNICIAN'S FINDINGS: On arrival, the customer reported that his mattress is giving off a strong odour. LIABILITY EXPLANATION: This is an invalid claim because this is the mattress gassing off. ACTION TAKEN: ITEM: MATTRESS SUB CODE:NON-FAULTY I have inspected the customer complaint. I don't believe that the smell coming from the mattress is any cause for concern as I can only smell this mildly. I have explained to the customer that this is the gassing off and is not deemed a fault and the customer needs to keep airing the room as he states he has been doing. I've advised you to give it a couple more months and the smell should have passed. The customer doesn't accept this explanation and has left some comments. He wishes for the retailer to contact him. Absolutely shocking after sales service. Don't get back to you and it takes several calls and emails to get any help at all. Bought two wardrobes which are not right and have apportioned the blame to us. We are now in the forth week of the complaint and all we've had is one engineer out, who sent a report in saying it was not a manufacturing fault, so our floor must be uneven. He was literally in the house 10 minutes. We got no official report fed back to us, so we've had to ring again today. They just told us what the engineer had said about it not being a manufacture fault. We explained we weren't happy, so now they are sending out another engineer. Absolutely disgusted and would not recommend this company.

Everything about this company is appalling. From the pair of thick delivery drivers who are supposed to call you when they are on their way (incapable of doing that, just turned up and were then annoyed they had to wait for us to get back from work). One of the drawers on the bed arrived broken so poor workmanship, lack of quality control or cheap materials. You take your pick. Bed base started creaking almost after first use. Sent their incompetent warranty people round who just sprayed the under base. We were then told it was our fault for sitting on the edge of the bed. We are hardly morbidly obese and did not realise a hoist is needed to get in and out of bed was required if you can't sit on it. A complete cowboy operation all the way through. Do yourself a favour and go to Dreams instead.

Bought a wardrobe from here, was convinced by the staff to take out insurance on it. Less than a year after having it's broken. Not an issue with the wardrobe it was a complete accident but now the insurance ( that I was convinced to purchase by benson for beds staff for accidental damage-guessing they earn commission!) Is refusing to pay out saying its a structural problem ( which it's not, a sleeve got caught in the mechanism and we had to force it open- which in turn broke the mirror) - literally the definition of an accident! I wouldn't buy from here again as benson for beds have not helped at all-.shame as ive spent thousands over the last few years in this shop! whatever you do don't purchase the furniture insurance! Can only offer another Bensons for Beds horror story. Purchased a top quality bed (king size divan plus mattress) in November 2023 from Bensons in Harrogate. Great to begin with but within 6 months I began to experience back pain and noticed sagging on both sides of the mattress despite having faithfully rotated the mattress on a regular basis. I complained in store and a so- called technician from Emmiera was sent to inspect the mattress. He was here for 10 minutes and announced that he could find nothing wrong with the mattress and that he would get a good nights sleep on the mattress. I am very dissatisfied and am not sure quite what my next step will be. One thing is for certain. I can no longer sleep in this bed. The back pain is too severe! I really am very disappointed with the product quality and customer service offered by Bensons for Beds!

Went to order a bed for my parents, Dartford Benson for Beds was amazing…Richard the Sales Advisor was sooo helpful and very pleasant..He had full knowledge and the advice he gave us was amazing…We came out very happy and will Definately go back to buy again…Richard should be recognised for his helpfulness

They delivered my bed but could not take it upstairs cause it was too heavy so they dumped it in the living room so how are we meant to take it upstairs,, basically saying that’s our problem. Then when we looked at the bed they sent us to right bases rang up customer services, they said we had to wait other month to receive the left base, so we said we told him to come and collect the bed we’re not interested no more your service was diabolical so now we have to wait for two weeks for them to come and collect the bed and it’s clogging our living room and having a disabled brother is finding it difficult to walk around, but when I explain this to customer services, they didn’t care. I still had to wait two weeks.

Ordered a mattress slept on 2 nights and it started to sink at each side where I slept and husband slept, contacted the store, she said to send pics in and the girl in the store said it definitely looked like a faulty mattress. It was taken away and got a new one exactly the same. Same thing happened again, called the shop and the said they'd need to send out an inspector but he came out and said there was nothing wrong with it, he also said I've never heard of this make of bed and that it wasn't a good quality, he suggested if Bensons didn't give a us a new bed to buy a mattress topper. The bed is so uncomfortable, I ache every morning, we bought a good topper but it's sinking where the beds sinks. I'd never recommend anyone to buy a mattress from them, there attitude stinks.

order placed on 10/5/24, and have been let down 4 times, I ordered a standard 3 foot base and late in the afternoon before the morning of delivery they phoned to say they hadnt got it. The person this bed was for has been sleeping on the floor in anticipation of delivery, we now have to start again! I have phoned Customer service who do not appear to answer their phones and disconnect incoming calls after about 30 minutes of me hanging on. I shall NEVER EVER deal with Bensons again. Appaling service

I purchased a bed frame and mattress from this company in January 2024. Initially, everything seemed fine. However, after just four months, the mattress started to cave in, especially on my side. For context, I weigh 90kg, which should not be an issue for a quality mattress. By the sixth month, the mattress had become so uncomfortable that I began experiencing severe back pain. I found myself resorting to sleeping on the floor to alleviate my discomfort.While Bensons excelled at selling me the mattress, their customer service when it came to returns was abysmal. Despite the obvious defect, they stood by their policy and refused to accept the return, claiming it was within their guidelines.I will never shop here again. This mattress has caused me significant back pain and is utterly uncomfortable. If you weigh over 100kg, expect this mattress to turn into something akin to a chapati within a year. Save yourself the hassle and shop elsewhere.

Extremely Product Quality We bought a Super King Ottoman Bed from Benson for Beds at the end of May, and by the first of July, the mechanism that lifts the frame had snapped. This happened just the day before we were leaving for our holidays. I arranged for a replacement part to be delivered the day after our return. While on holiday, I received a text stating that I would have to disassemble the broken part myself before the new one could be installed. What a joke! I spent an hour on the phone while at the beach, convincing Benson to have their technicians handle the disassembly. They eventually agreed. On the day I landed back in London, I received another text saying that the delivery would not take place as agreed due to a technical issue at the warehouse. I spent another hour outside the terminal trying to sort this out. Benson agreed to refund the delivery expense of £49.99, but the replacement part would not be delivered before July 26th. This entire experience has been frustrating and disappointing. The product quality is poor, and the service has been nothing short of a nightmare. I strongly advise against purchasing from Benson for Beds. Stay away if you value your time and your mental health.

Bensons bed never trust they insurance , they just take your money and they will never replace if anything is damaged by accident, I have my wardrobe sliced door hook get stuck and the mirror broke and they said its actual fult , wat actual fult i dont understand, so don't west your money with Bensons bed insurance , one star its to match for them , should be zero

My daughter's mattress sagged badly well within warranty. They flatly refuesed to replace it - they said staining from normal use had caused the sagging! Absolute rubbish. They are to be avoided. The warranty is worthless. It even states that normal wear and tear invalidates the warranty. Go somewhare else - go ANYWHERE else

I ordered from bensons and the delivery was spot on! I fitted bed myself and not a problem and the tv board works fine! goes up and down etc and mattress is great! I know every company have problems but you can't tar the whole business on one experience! great bed, great service and I have slept the best, which helps with my medical problems!

Commented 4 weeks ago about a headboard and said I don't hold out much hope on them getting it right this time. And guess what !. They cocked it up again, wrong colour again. Cancelled order and asked for a refund. Fingers crossed they get that right
