About Carphone Warehouse:

The Carphone Warehouse was founded in 1989 to bring mobile services to consumers. The market has always been complex and our aim from the very beginning has been to offer our customers simple, impartial advice while also offering outstanding value. As a result we have grown from a handful of stores operating exclusively in the UK selling mobile handsets and contracts, to a European-wide platform of over 1,500 stores in 10 countries, providing a wide range of mobile and residential telecoms services.

I bought Samsung Galaxy S9+ from them on pre-order. Because they were offering free wireless charger. First they have said that they will send it later. 3 weeks passed and yesterday I asked about it. What did they say? They said that they are out of stock so unfortunately they can not send and they are not compensating me (of course!) with something else.. Such an amateur company. Please do not buy anything from them.

Purchased an inexpensive and easy to use phone with a £10 call credit included from the website. User is an elderly relative in hospital. Call credit could not be activated so for speed, visited a shop expecting quick and hassle free experience to get it working; WRONG! Waited 20 minutes to be served, 15 minutes and 3 assistants all having a go and faffing around, no joy. Left the phone and went for lunch explaining the outcome I wanted - a working phone with £10 call credit. It happened, but what a poor experience, will think twice before using CPW again.

Phone was promised 31/03/2018 did not arrive. Customer care laughed and hung up on us. Phoned back and told it was with DPD checked with DPD and they did not have it. Told no manager to speak to. One lie after another. Wish we'd never ordered the damn phone.

I pre-ordered a Samsung S9 for March 8th. I still don't have it, and won't until earliest the 4th April - and I'm not holding my breath. Despite Carphone Warhouse having taken £739 payment. I've probably spent over 15 hours on the phone (mostly on hold) between Carphone Warehouse and DPD, their delivery company. DPD messed up the initial delivery, ultimately lost the phone, and chasing this has become my problem as the customer. It would be too much to ask for them to talk to each other without me having to prompt at every step of the way. Absolutely ludicrous. The call-centres in South Africa are hopeless, and will often promise to call you back and don't, or put you on hold and then hang up when their hours finish. The staff in store, when I went their in desperation, weren't interested. Just don't bother with these guys.

Poor Service. For two days I have bee looking at a certain pay as you go phone for my Mum. The price was £34.99 plus £10.00 top up or £34.99 if you choose to upgrade via you prepay network. I checked the price this morning and it has gone up to £49.99 plus £10.00 top up, and £49.99 for the pre-pay upgrade. However they have still advertised the £34.99 price, so I sent them a message, to advise the situation. They thanked me for letting them know... I asked if they would at least honour the price since it was their error, to which they replied no. I asked them if the store price was the same as online, they said the price was now £49.99 and they could not do a thing. I know prices change all the time......... I understand the process, however, I do not think to expect some form of a GWG was out of line considering they are advertising two prices........ disappointed to say to the least, they have not even acknowledged their error. As small as it may be....... the price increase is a lot............. so much for a 'price promise'. I checked local stock, the Beaumont Leys, Leicester branch showed available, I travelled there after work. First thing i notice is the store advertising the phone at £34.99... brilliant. I asked the man in the shop if we could see the phone, he advised they ad zero stock ( even though the website shows in stock ) he said we could order it in. Great, i asked for a pre-pay upgrade, they said they could not do it, and would need to speak to Vodaphone. I spoke with Vodafone while i was in the shop who said there should be no issue. The store manager then goes onto the shop floor to remove the price from the shelf. I then asked the store manager what network is the phone on with the price at £34.99. He them tells me it was a promotion and that it had ended....... and the best price he can offer me the phone at is £60.00. The manager failed to update the store with the correct price, apprently has no stock and tries to dupe me. Absolutly disgusted at the fact if my Mum had been on her own they would of charged her £60.00 for their error. Yet again, the website is incorrect, the store is advertising the wrong price and the customer suffers for their incompetence.

Worst experience experience ever, customer service very rude, so disappointed never even gave me a chance to explain! Bought from many phone outlets over the years, never had a problem! Have learnt a big lesson! Will never buy from this company again! This company should take note.. one person is now many.. treat people badly at your peril! Train you customer services better!

In a word -attitude. I saw a deal, went to the Southport store that was empty bar 3 employees. Clearly it was inconvenient to help me. I was happy to buy a new phone but kept being told the deal I had a picture of on my phone didn’t exist. Ok - I can accept that it changed since midnight. But the attitude was APPALLING. I NEVER write reviews and always remain polite but I just ended up walking out the shop. Well I’m sorry that I was an inconvenience and I humbly beg your forgiveness for interrupting your day. You are clearly above someone like me who wanted to spend a lot of money on a phone. Oh - and pay your wages. Hmmmmm.

I ordered an s9 plus through carphone warehouse I have had so many different issues the phone was due to me on the 9th of march but at the beginning of the week I got an email saying it would come on the 7th and I would get a 1 hour delivery slot on the day by lunch time when I hadn't heard I gave them a call and was made to feel a fool by their agent for chasing a phone that wasn't out yet even though it was their company that told me to expect it, when it did arrive I was also expecting a micro sd card which should have been a free gift with the phone after calling to find out when I would get it I was told it would come after 14 days as I bought the phone sim free ok so I wait, while trying to sort out another issue trading in my old phone which took multiple calls and being transfer between customer service and online order team numerous times and spending an hour in one of their stores I also asked again about the sd card and was told it should have come with the phone but they were out of stock so after a few emails the agreed to a gesture of goodwill for £28 (enough to buy a wireless charge pad) so we reach the end of the 2 weeks I send in an email to ask about the sd card and was told that I'm not getting it and that's was the £28 was for even though I have an email from them that says in the same message I will get the sd card and the goodwill gestures, just downright awful customer service

Part exchanged my old s7 edge for a new s9+. The exchange price they gave me was more than any trade shop price. This was due to an extra £100 bonus on trade price for pre ordering this new phone. A very happy customer.

DO NOT SHOP AT CARPHONE WAREHOUSE YOU WILL REGRET IT I bought a phone from Carphone warehouse. developed a fault after less than 4 hours use,Still under guarantee yet they refuse to replace it. When the fault first showed I went to the store. The guy couldn't have been less interested. He told me they hadn't had any problems with this phone but do a factory reset that will cure it. It didn't. The second time I was told the same thing but when I said I had tried that he just said Oh well it will have to be repaired then. Not wanting to have the phone repaired after so little use I took legal advise. I was advised that under the 2015 consumer protection act the phone should function without fault for a reasonable length of time and that developing a fault after less than 4 hours was not reasonable. I was therefor advised not to accept a repair. I went back to store and this time I was told we have had a lot of problems with this phone it has an inherent fault. Do a software reload and if that doesn't work it will have to be repaired. It made no difference so I contacted Customer service.Don't be fooled by the name they don't know the meaning of service. They refused to do anything other than repair the phone and told me to get a report on the fault from Apple. Good idea for a Sony phone. I then asked them for the name of the Chief exec so I could complain to him, But they didn't know who he was. I eventually found his e mail address but it was passed to one of his lackeys who was not in the slightest bit interested in anything other than a repair. After many e mails she sent me a deadlock letter advising me that I could take up the issue with the Ombudsman. What She didn't tell me was carphone warehouse are not registered with the Ombudsman so they can't do anything. The letter also stated that they would only offer a repair and that they were unable to offer the resolution I was looking for as they need to comply with the guidelines set out by the manufacturer. I checked with the manufacturer who told me they have no idea what she is talking about and that weather they exchange or refund a product is down to them and nothing to do with Sony. They think customers are so stupid that they will just accept the rubbish that they tell them. If anyone else wants to contact the CEO the telephone number is 01772 375799 not that it will do you any good.

Carphone Warehouse is terrible the customer service department in India give all stores in the UK a bad name… I have only met one staff member in store who has been willing to help me and even then he is being passed around all different departments just being fobbed off! All I want is my money back and I have been fighting since January to do so as I was sent a cheque with only half of my name written on it therefore I cannot even bank it! To be waiting for over £800 refund since before Christmas is beyond a joke!! Never would I go back to Carphone Warehouse for anything once my refund is in my hands.

I have recently traded in my phone online due to being told that i am unable to do so in store if i am not getting a contract out (the Harrogate store to be exact). It took over a month and over 10 calls to finally find out that they have deemed the phone faulty even though it was fine before it left bar a few scratches on the back. I then asked if i was able to trade in in store without buying anything from them and they repied yes you can trade in phones when not purchasing goods from the store. So because i was lied to in the Harrogate store i am now out 320 pounds and a phone because they refuse to send it back due to their terms and conditions. This coupled with having to wait over a month for a simple refund it completely unacceptable. The only thing i was offered in compensation was 20 pounds account credit and a complaint raised with the Harrogate store and a call back from the manager. I feel like i have been robbed and will not be using the company again.

Purchased a new Samsung S9 Plus with a new contract. The store assistant told me the sim should activate within 24 hrs. It actually took four days and numerous phone calls and visits to the stores to resolve. All the different staff I spoke to gave me different reasons as why the sim would not activate. Not a Great experience. I would however like to give a big thank you to Amy at Carphone Warehouse in Kettering who, when I spoke to her, new exactly how to resolve the issue. Within 45 mins she had my new phone up and running. CPW, I suggest you use Amy to train your members of staff in the call centres.

Disappointing lack of clarity on a deal for pre-ordering a Galaxy S9. To qualify for the extra £100 I've since been told I had to follow a second step within 24 hours that was buried in the terms and conditions and because it didn't make it clear and therefore I didn't, I have now bought a phone from them and paid £100 more than I expected.

I was contacted a number of times by Carphone warehouse to upgrade my phone talked and arranged by phone for an upgrade. Once upgrade was agreed was not informed of a delivery date and money was taken out of my account on the 7 March 2018. No further information from the company was forthcoming sent an e-mail and made a formal complaint after a week still no news of my phone or the complaint and it has now been ongoing and its 19 March. I will never order a mobile phone this way again, appallind service. In-shop service is quicker and better.

One star Is too many for the service received. My phone developed a fault after two and a half months. Sent for repair. Got lost on route. Receive message stating my phone is repaired and can be collected. My phone was a Nokia 5 in copper. Apparently could not be repaired. A replacement was sent, a refurbished Nokia 5 in black. Not happy as wanted a copper one and felt a new phone should be given. Said this in store. Told I would have to speak to repairs. Repairs say only ever send out refurbished phones to replace unrepairable phones. Said I wanted like for like and t old to speak to store manager. No copper phones available. Got home phoned earphone warehouse online asked if Nokia 5 sim free in copper in stock. Yes it is. Can't give me one. Put through to insurance, they escalated my concerns. Said they couldn't give me a copper phone as none in stock. Must have sold the last one whilst speaking to them!! Putting £10 for me to spend in carphone warehouse for my inconvenience.( will not be purchasing from here again) BE AWARE IF YOUR PHONE IS NOT REPAIRABLE YOU WILL ONLY GET A REFURBISHED PHONE BACK
