Horrendous service, no customer service whatsoever, emailed the CEO - Elaine Kerr (email address on CEO email address website) & no reply. The package is for a time sensitive food package that was meant to arrive at 10am Friday 16th, it is now 19.00 Monday 19th. Even if it arrives the question now is will it give whoever eats it, food poisoning... It's was supposedly a gift to a friend who works for a well known consumer affairs business!!!! They will not respond on live chat, phone, email, instead practicing that well known process called "Head in Sand".

Absolutely brilliant service, I dropped a parcel off late on Sunday afternoon in Cornwall it arrived the next morning in Birmingham. I don't know how they managed it with 5 days to Christmas. Perfect!

What the heck has happened to DPD? Two weeks ago you were riding the wave of reliability, but the decline is so dramatic and rapid, I wonder whether Truss or Kwarteng is interning with you? I have been waiting six days for a package, received at the local depot, and 'Your parcel has been delayed due to an unexpected issue ... your new estimate is [insert next day]'. After two days I think you should have got to the bottom of 'unexpected'. Reading some of the other woeful stories of DPD's recent performance I am, thus far, having an easy time. I have asked the vendor to query this with their DPD account manager: they consider this unacceptable to be fobbed-off daily, and to have their business damaged by DPD's poor fulfilment. There is, as other reporters have found, no easy means to speak to a human at DPD who could offer clarity and reassurance, which adds to the frustration. I have previously used DPD to deliver items, but have no choice, on the back of this poor performance, to look into alternatives who have taken on a manageable workload and not imploded. Two stars: why not one? - I still have a recollection of how good DPD was from just a few weeks ago.

I own a small business in the West Midlands. Like many companies, we buy parts and equipment from China from time to time. Usually this is large capital equipment and we use specialised couriers, however we ordered some small parts from a supplier which were dispatched on 23.11.2022 via DPD express and the expected delivery date was before 05.12.2022. There were three small boxes, all exactly the same sent as part of the same consignment, all labelled correctly and clearly. We received one box only on 14.12.2022, 9 days late. Up until this point the tracking number didn't work at all and just returned a 'We have received your order but not yet your parcel' message or words to that effect. After the delivery of the first box, the number started working and displayed a 'Return to consignor has been requested' status, along with a long history of various movements including two 'We missed you' events. Two of the boxes they were now attempting to send back to our supplier in China. They obviously didn't miss us, it is extremely clear where we are located and both reception and good inwards areas are clearly marked. I believe the driver didn't realise that there were two additional boxes in his van when he delivered the one box and then just didn't want to deal with it afterwards. After our supplier had been chasing them and attempting to get this issue fixed, we received another of the boxes on 19.12.2022. The third box is still somewhere in their system being returned to sender, so hopefully this turns up at some point. We also had another delivery sent from a local supplier on 15.12.2022 for some small parts in two boxes. Both boxes were broken open by DPD and parts spilled on the floor. They bagged them up and delivered them to us, however a quantity were missing. Customer service is useless. I was lied to on the online chat after I questioned what was happening by them acting as if they could not see any of my messages (as others on here have indicated). I do not see how a company can possibly be this bad and get away with treating customers as they do. Just for comparison, we had another consignment of exactly the same parts from our Chinese supplier shipped via UPS on 09.12.2022, which arrived on 19.12.2022 within the 3 hour timeslot which was given to us. The only difference that instead of 3 boxes there were 10 boxes. All arrived on time and without damage and the driver was polite and obviously professional, so you can't even blame the current climate when DPDs competitors are performing fine. Stay away.

Next day service for a Guitar. 14 days later and it's still in the Birmingham depot it was on day one, with no movement. Keep getting the same "sorry for the delay" email day after day. There's really no excuse for no movement in 14 days. I don't hold out much hope for the guitar arriving in one piece now. DPD, this is criminal. You accept the business, you take the booking and pocket the money, but don't deliver. 14 days!. Is there even an excuse for a 14 day delay?. I'd love to hear it. Oh!, and I can't contact you, because you've a cleverly constructed website that keeps customers going round in circles!, and you don't answer the phone. Nice tricks!

What can I say about DPD Delivery service. Have been waiting 19 days for Middelton sorting depot to take golf club to Morrisons Bredbury 20 mins away. Final got a e mail saying club at Morrisons Bredbury. Went today to pick it up club snapped in half. Now to break a graphite shaft it needs to have been stamped on. Phoned Cash for clubs who I bought this from who are brilliant and said send it back and we will send you a refund. That will cost them price of club and postage. DPD Are a appalling company and I will be sending there MD a little e mail to tell them the service I have received from Middelton branch. Do not use this service look first at my reviews 3 including this one plus all other reviews.

Never, ever use this company or you will only regret it. They want your money but dont care about delivering. I paid for a doorstep delivery to my sister who lives in Weymouth and is housebound. She left her gate open so the courier did not need to use the intercom. She lives in the first ground floor flat, but he just couldnt be bothered. A neighbour found his calling card on the floor outside stating she needed to travel 1.6 miles to a pick up point. She is housebound which is the whole point of this doorstep delivery. They dont care, dont have a customer service to phone, and I got a no-reply email stating delivered and closed. She had to pay a taxi driver both ways to collect the parcel for her. Absolutely disgusting, please dont use them you will only regret it.

Appalling company, if i could leave zero stars I would. As others have said, parcel delayed for days and days and days. Every day I get an email and text to say there 'is an issue in the warehouse'. Online chat bot is useless, just tells you the same thing. If you manage to find the number to call, it just rings and rings. I've gone back to the big retailer now asking why they just such a dreadful company.. awaiting a response. I needed these items urgently for my children for this terrible weather. Totally terrible, how are they in business...

I’ve often found DPD to be very good however what I have now realised is when there is a problem it is a catastrophic nightmare of a company to deal with. I bought a new phone and got into debt as mine is beyond repair and EE sent it to the Swansea depot. It was meant to be delivered the next day. Firstly after 3 days of a parcel not being delivered when every day the tracking told me it would be I got an odd message “delivered to depot pod”. This later turned out to be that it had been stolen /lost. EE investigated and then sent me another phone, but here we are again ‘an unexpected delay in your area is the message I get’. The chat function is an automated useless robot. If I ring them I get a customer services who will admit to me that that they are only employed from another country to be a contact for DPD but I can’t actually speak to DPD or any depots only the sender can do this. Even tho I’ve paid for it. So now I still don’t have a phone, can’t speak to anyone about it, am expected to wait in every day as I need to receive it. Useless. I offered to collect it from the depot but because of made up Covid restrictions I am not allowed. I will never use DPD again I’m disgusted

DPD have now had my parcel at their depot for a week. Each day they say they are sending it out, but never do. I have contacted customer services, they say a manager will phone back but they don't. I am willing to come and pick it up myself, but they don't allow this anymore! I have contacted the sender, but they are having no joy over this. They are just holding my parcel and won't help me to get it. I will continue to write as many reviews as I can until they start paying attention.

Cooker door broke so ordered a next day replacement from Xanussi who used DPD. On the Tuesday i was horrified to get home to find a picture of our fragile parcel outside an unidentified persons house! So despite an accurate address, my three words to pinpoint delivery to 3m location and a photo of my house the driver dumped it it turns out on the opposite side of the village. This was then. Retrieved back to the depot where days later and multiple calls later it still languishes. So I ordered a replacement from zanussi. This was due for delivery yesterday. We had a time slot and a delivery number. We were delivery 121 and when it got to job 84 we watched in horror on the app as the driver left the village and went back to base … app said “ our driver is running late but will be with you soon”….. when 2025!’n So all the family are arriving this morning to celebrate Xmas early as daughter has to be in Spain for real Xmas …. No working cooker thanks to DPD donuts cold chicken ……incompetent handling of not one but two urgent packages by DPD. Meanwhile Amazon continue to deliver next day on time to correct address . Shocking and I’ve told everyone I can !

Congratulations DPD you have received my very first negative review, which I will most definitely be posting everywhere I can think of. I was tracking my parcel extremely dilligently. After 12 odd hours at work, I come home and track my order while I am number 35 and he is still at 25. I stop doing literally everything for half an hour and keep watch as I get closer to my number. Then as I reach number 34 I rush downstairs to receive my package ( which takes less than a minute), only to immediately receive a notification that my driver has missed me and left! Either there is a huge mismatch between tracking and where the driver is actually at. Or I can only assume the driver simply took a picture of the house and left. There is no way he could have come over and missed me in such a short duration. It is ridiculous to me that you would expect a customer to stand outside waiting for their delivery, in these subzero temperatures anymore than just before their order. What is even more ridiculous is that you cannot be bothered to call me when the delivery has arrived or just before the delivery, when you clearly have my number! And everything is automated, I cannot even call the driver to explain that I have been waiting for him. Absolutely horrible service. Cannot un-reccommend this service more.

Absolute rubbish. Customer Service non existent and website rubbish. I booked a parcel to be delivered within the UK from a local pickup point. Details of the parcel - sizes and weight - were given and cost priced accordingly. Took the parcel to the pickup point who told me DPD driver wouldn’t accept it because it was too big! It wasn’t a large box at all 58x31x35 cms. That was just the beginning of the problem. It proved ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEAK TO ANYBODY IN DPD ABOUT THE PROBLEM. (DON’T BOTHER RINGING THE NUMBER YOU CAN FIND ONLINE BECAUSE NOBODY SPEAKS TO YOU OTHER THAN A ROBOTIC RESPONSE TELLING ME THE STATUS OF YOUR PARCEL). I EVEN TRIED TO SEND A MESSAGE USING THEIR OWN ONLINE FORM BUT THAT WAS REJECTED AS WELL. So, in the end I decided to cancel the order - and more problems arose. I found that the only way to do that was to set up an account!! (I hadn’t set up an account when ordering). Having done so, it informed me that the refund would take up to a week if it passed all of their checks!! I am still waiting…. I subsequently booked with Evri who collect from my home and deliver to the required address and the cost is about the same. SO, IF YOU ARE THINKING OF USING DPD MY STRONG ADVICE IS DON’T DO IT UNLESS YOU WANT A LOT OF TIME WASTING (3 hours so far) AND AGGRAVATION.

My parcel should have been delivered on 2/12; it is now 16/12 and still hasn't been delivered! Every time it says it is being delayed because of "an unexpected issue in your area" even though I have seen many DPD vans in my area! I finally got an hour time slot on 7/12, however, the driver "couldn't find my address" even though he wasn't even in my area! Just being plain lazy! Every time I contact customer service they say the same excuse each time that they are backlogged from Black Friday. I have zero hope that it will come before Christmas!

Truly terrible… I was expecting my parcel on Tuesday 13th Dec, the one hour time slot was the only time when there wasn’t anyone at the house I used their system to change address to my work address and was told it would be delivered the next day… On Wednesday 14th I had a text saying that my parcel would be delivered before 22:00. No hour time slot. At 14:00 the DPD driver arrived with other parcels but not mine. When I enquired he said that he didn’t have it and he was the only driver in the area that day. My place of work shut at 16:00 and I still didn’t have my parcel so called the call centre and got through to a lady who escalated the request to find my parcel. She told me that I would get a call back within an hour. I got a call from a man who said that he was the depot manager at Swansea. He told me that my parcel was out with a driver who was off tracker so he couldn’t tell me when my parcel would arrive. I asked if I was expected to wait in the dark and cold until the driver turned up and asked what would happen if the driver didn’t come at all. He told me that it was likely that the driver wouldn’t arrive because they could run out of driving hours… as a coach driver I know that you can’t be on tachograph and off tracker so this didn’t add up to me… the manager told me that if I delayed delivery until the next day he would make sure that my parcel would arrive “at a reasonable time during working hours” to which I agreed. Shortly after our conversation I had a text to say my delivery had changed to Thursday 15th. On Thursday 15th I waited and checked the tracker which was still saying it was out for delivery until 18:00 when my place of work closed and the tracker changed to say that my parcel was being returned to where I bought it! My item was worth about £550 and the money won’t be refunded for two weeks after returning to the company I brought it from, not to mention it was limited stock… this means that I can’t find a replacement item and even if I did I wouldn’t have the money for it until after Christmas anyway! This is truly unacceptable and has utterly destroyed Christmas for my family as that item was to be from Santa.
