Worst travel insurance provider in the UK. Please avoid this company at all cost. they will try their best not to pay out. they claims handling processors are imcompetent and try and wriggle their way out of paying anything. you will get shafted by this company. I have a claim from 2022 and they keep making me go through hurdles asking for more and more information. they are not reasonable at all please avoid!

We were unable to take a trip to America last Sept due to a severe sickness bug. We Filled in all the forms and my GP filled her part in too. Every 30 days Admiral would come back asking for more information (we had given them the information already but we re-sent it to keep them happy) - to us this was just delay tactics on Admiral’s part. At the end of Feb they offered settlement and said the money would be in my bank within 10 days. We’re now nearly 2 months down the line and we’ve never received payment. We’ve now taken our claim to the Ombudsman. Absolutely disgraceful company.

I had insurance for 2 cars and a home with them. Because my husband hold international driving licence they told that they cannot to renew my policy. They even sent me email about ending policy. I purchased with another provider...Its good that I checked my account with them and it was saying for renewal! Then I called them.. What they did: they removed my husband from policy and put for renewal without telling me.. They told me that they can do it and I HAVE TO STAY WITH THEM!!! Basically they threatened me taking money from my account insisting to stay with them..the conversation was going on and on untill i told that its my rights not to renew with them.. Horrible, horrible experience and people work there.. never back again

Wish I had read all these reviews before! Can only say had exactly the same, poor experience with this Company after a small accident that dented my car. No Third Party involved just me and a wall! Due to the significant issues and delays in trying to sort it, I withdrew the Claim and at renewal have discovered they have not only failed to amend the central database but actually listed the claim twice as two separate claims. My new Insurer has therefore increased the premium to reflect this! Can I sort it - "No" I have copies of all online chat as that's the only "person" you can actually speak to. They had absolutely no idea of how to respond and despite an email saying it had been done - it hasn't! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR CAR INSURANCE!

Worse insurer going, rude obnoxious staff that need to go back to customer service school! They do not answer the phones and seem content to ignore emails. Would not recommend this bunch of cowboys to my worse enemy.... AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

I just read some of the reviews on here about Admiral insurance and it would seem my bad experience is not in any way unique. The way this company operate really does need to be exposed. They are simply taking money for services they are not providing. I have read the good reviews about Admiral and they are almost never about people actually making claims. My experience is with their car insurance and as others have said they are utterly useless. I have been in contact with body shops directly and when they find out I am insured through Admiral they basically roll their eyes and wish me good luck. My accident happened 4 days ago, the vehicle is no longer fit for the road, no idea when my car will be looked at by a garage, or which garage they intend to use or if I will ever get the hire car I have paid for. And I fully expect to be in the same situation next week. I promise you they will leave you off the road for as long as possible to avoid paying any associated costs. If you need your car for work or for anything remotely important, do yourself a huge favour and look elsewhere for your car insurance.

Very disappointed so far. Have recommended Admiral in the past to others. Will no longer do this. Our car was parked with us in the house when hit by a moving vehicle. Many phone calls and documents later we are told ‘we will get back to you in a couple of days’. We need the car to go to work and the other stationary vehicle, also hit, will be removed tomorrow and the owner provided with a courtesy car. The premiums you charge are too high for shoddy service. pgilson@gmail.com Patrick Gilson

So I've been with Admiral for over 8 years. Never made a claim. Oct/Nov 2022 I made my first claim for a vehicle to be repaired.... and this was the outcome. 1 - My car was not allocated to a garage until 30 Jan 2023! 2 - I had and still have to constantly chase Admiral for an update. 3 - There was a complete disconnect between, Admiral, third party and the garage, no one knew where or what is being done with the car. 4 - You can never get hold of customer services despite the vast about of emails and contact forms I completed. 5 - I just had the vehicle delivered and the engine sounds awful plus a new dent has appeared. 6 - If you have a Landrover, they don't classify Landrover garage as an authorised garage. 7 - I did not get a courtesy vehicle until Jan 2023. 8 - Tried calling Customer Service Centre, guaranteed you're waiting for 1 hour which at that point the call is ended from Admiral. I understand delays may happen but what I don't tolerate is being ignored and not beimg valued as a loyal customers. 8 years! I spent nearly £10,000 of insurance premium to Admiral and this is the service you get back. Is the vehicle fixed? NO Have I contacted Admiral via forms, emails, calls? YES Has anyone contacted me back to fix this? NO This is an absolute nightmare. I would never be with Admiral insurance ever again and I strongly recommend - DO NOT USE ADMIRAL INSURANCE.

My daughter had a brush with a bollard at wk in late Dec ,decided to leave till Jan to claim as it was over xmas period. She spent 4.5 hrs in total trying to get through 1.5 hrs in 1 go. When she did she was told someone would ring her back that day (never happened) Rang again eventually got through ,they asked her to take car for estimate ,and get repairer to send quote to them for review. That was done and sent on 6th Feb repairer tried to contact them on 15th feb and 1st March and 13th March, still no contact from Admiral . Luckily car is driveable, otherwise i dread to think how much it would have cost to hire one. Also whilst trying to contact Admiral in January she used the website to make claim and twice it crashed at the end. I really wish this was a positive post, but struggled to give them 1 star. Andy W

THE BAD POINTS ARE SO MANY I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START !!!! 1. At first glance you will think that they are offering you a cheap offer but believe me every little extra service is paid in tens of pounds. such as a simple call for a simple question or a simple change of payment date (check before you trust if you don't believe) 2. If their offers still seem good to you, just a tip, compare them with those of AVIVA, for example. For my two vehicles that I own (van and car), AVIVA's quotes for insurance were literally twice as low. And again, if you don't believe it, just compare it yourself 3. Always reduce your No Claim Bonus time. If, for example, you have 2 years and 11 months of No Claim Bonus, they write it as 2 years and no one bothers to note the other 11 months, which are actually almost one more year. This is understood as a negative to you for your next insurance quote 4. Lucky that they feel disloyalty from you (as sometimes it may not be your direct fault such as a direct debit problem with a problem with your bank and not yourself). hundreds of pounds in fines are charged which no one explains to you how they are formed nor do you dare ask given the basic call charges (£25 btw) I mentioned in point 1. Honestly it seems like if I drive without insurance I will have less trouble with the law and less fees and fines to pay than I had with this company!!!!

Claim went in on the 24th January. Car not collected until 20th February. Got the car back 3rd March. Car still not road worthy. Had to constantly chase and never received call backs. Admiral won't even look at the car to assess it. We are having to put this into our local garage at our own expense. Complaint has gone in, will follow up with the Financial Ombudsman and down the legal route. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Disgusting customer service Promised over 10 call backs and never received Radio silence for two weeks Problem after problem. Over 8 hours spent in the phone chasing, 3 weeks without a car and still on hold whilst writing this review. If you’re reading this review don’t ever insure with admiral.

My partner slipped whilst on holiday on the 4th November 2022 and broke her wrist. Immediate hospital treatment was required. On our return I made a claim on my multi trip policy with Admiral. I filled in an online questionnaire and submitted copies of receipts for the charges incurred for treatment, medication, travel and appointments. I received a notification informing me the questionnaire was 100% completed and I would receive a response with in 30 working days, which I did not. I eventually received a reply in early January asking me to review my claim. I logged on to my claim portal and the questionnaire was noted as only 25% complete and the documents I submitted was missing. I filled in the information for a second time and received the same response ( contact will be made in 30 working days). I have tried numerous times via email, online chats, and customer care email (No contact telephone number available) ect. I was totally ignored. I eventually threatened to contact ombudsman to make a complaint and received a reply with in 24 hrs apologising and requesting me to resubmit my claim. It has now been 4 months and I am no further forward than the I first day I submitted my claim. I am currently looking for travel insurance elsewhere as my family are going on holiday in June and if the worst was to happen I can not reply on Admiral to be contactable or to settle a claim if it was required. I have been ignored multiple times. contact is virtually impossible. If it was not for the fact the Admiral was very well advertised cross many media platforms I can honestly say that I feel I had been conned or scammed into taking out this policy by a fraudulent business. I am luck that the claim was for a broken wrist and not some life threatening injury.

Absolutely dumbfounded at the circus we have been put through. Had a car go into the back of us in January and it took till the end of February to finally contact us despite us ringing and ringing, hours of being put on hold, emails being ignored. We were promised multiple call backs which never happened. Finally contact us to tell us we have to claim on our own policy as the car who went into back of us doesn’t accept liability. We contact said person who says they obviously do accept liability because they went into back of us. He rings admiral to make sure they have that on record and they say they do! So basically admiral are telling outright lies it seems. Absolutely at the end of my tether, on hold again as we speak, so far been 1/2 hour and not spoken to a single person . Will be leaving then as soon as we can, completely incompetent company, they should be embarrassed

DO NOT USE ADMIRAL They will not recover your car, they don’t assess your car they don’t pick it up from the garage and most of all they will not fix or pay out the car. They won’t asker the phone and the will NEVER call you back. On the 24th of October 2022 My Volvo rs had an ABS cut out and the vehicle collided with a wall. I contacted Admiral to be told they couldn’t recover the car. I had to then pay myself to have the car towed to a garage. 18 weeks later my car is still in that garage. I have called admiral, emailed admiral, left messages, stayed on hold and even had the car assessed myself to see the damage. I have no car and as of 3 weeks ago now no job as I couldn’t drive to my contracts. Now my mortgage is at risk and my house. I have tried every avenue to contact admiral but to this day my car has not been recovered or assessed by admiral. If I call them they either promise a call back which never happens or they make you stay on hold for an hour. The person after an hour then claims they have no knowledge of what stage of the process the car is in but they can get me a call back from the correct team. 5x and so far no call back. They do not ever call back and they don’t tell you what is happening with the car. 4 months. No car no courtesy car and now no job. Thank you Admiral for taking my premiums and stealing them. The best part was when they filled to arrange a company to collect the car from the garage the company was so far away they refused. When another was organised the person collecting it was threatening and totally refused to collect the car after seeing it. Admirals response? Have £50 as a cheque for this incident of threatening behaviour and near violence from them. The cheque then bounced. Awful company and the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with I have a car with them and my house. It makes no difference they don’t do anything they are supposed to. 4 months and nothing. I would still be sat on the side of the road if I hadn’t done all the work myself so far. RUN!! DON’T GO NEAR THEM!!!

One of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. Gave me a quote which they now cannot find, tried to go on line to make changes to my policy - unable to do so because what I wanted to do is not on their list. I have tried 4 different numbers from their website this morning to contact them - all say number does not exist!. The chat bot went round in circles sent me to contact numbers that do not exist and generally was a complete waste of time. I lodged a complaint last Friday only to get an inane response say they could not answer my e mail because I hadn't given them my policy number. I had put my phone number at the bottom and they could not even be bothered to call me. Previously have spent 2.5 hrs on the phone to them and failed to carry out changes to my existing policy. Complete nightmare if you value your time and sanity do not use. I shall not be renewing with them and have now found a quote £80 cheaper.

I never felt soo small as I did dealing with Admiral. Worst customer service I have experienced. I have spent a month calling and mailing the company to resolve a claim before leaving. I have been redirected from Customer Service to Claim department each time, where I had to describe the whole situation all over each time to a new person. I did that 8 times. I have been put on hold between each new person I spoke with, once for 1h20min, but I was soo desperate at that point, that I just waited. I have finally received email with updated claim, but as soon as I replied to confirm and send additional info, I didn't get any response to that or follow up emails for 2 weeks. By now I must have spent over 20 hours trying to resolve a claim worth 300GBP.
