Poor quality bikes and even poorer customer services. Halfords accept no responsibility for their products rusting after just 8 months. A review by their quality assurance team means simply looking at some pictures and coming to conclusion. No physical examination of the the bike rusting after just 8 months and no official report produced.

Bought a bike (carrera vengeance) in April 2020. Only been out on it a dozen times or so. Stored in a garage with other bikes with no issues. Jan 2021 noticed rust around the wheels, brake and tubing. Took it into the local Halfords and raised with customer services as the bike should not be rusting after just 8 months. Halfords refused to accept any responsibility and blamed: 1 The bike has not been used enough 2. Not cleaned or dried off after a ride 3. Stored in damp conditions 4. It’s the sea air as we live on the coast. I have referred the matter to trading standards

Ordered a specific battery from Halfords for my car for home installation. Waited a week for the appointment day and as the Halfords mobile 'tech' pulls onto the drive all is well.. So far. The 'tech' then gets out the oldest looking dust covered scratched up battery I've ever seen, with a hand written white paper sticker slapped on the top with the spec number of the battery I ordered. He explained it's exactly the same battery sir just our own make! We can't get the right batteries and most people are OK with the alternative! when I checked the specifications of what I had ordered - £127.00 worth - to the dust covered cheapo rubbish he was trying very hard to convince me to have fitted. The specs were totally incorrect by a mile and totally unsuitable. I refused the installation. Poor show so far. To make it worse if you go to Halfords.com you can still order the SPECIFIC battery I wanted as shown in stock. It's either a scam to charge for expensive items and fit cheaper options or they are incompetent as a company. Either way I will never use them again and will advise all I know to not touch them with a barge pole!

Poor customer service. When raised with halfords customer services and there quality assurance team blamed a. The bike has not been used enough b. Not cleaned or dried off after a ride c. Stored in damp conditions d. It’s the sea air as we live on the coast. They did not even want to physically examine the bike just used some pictures.

I booked my car in for a MOT at the BD5 Halfords. Booking and taking payment was easy. I dropped my car off and was told it would take about 2 hours. I rang after waiting 2 hours to be told that the MOT could not be done as the car wouldn't go on the ramp because it was too heavy!! When asked why they didn't tell me sooner they said they had to wait 30 mins for the car to warm up. Even then i was still over 2 hours before i called. They told me to take it somewhere else! Will never use Halfords again. First and last time. They weren't even sorry that they had messed me around.

My order was never delivered and I contacted them through their 'live chat' 3 times. Every time promised that this would be chased (1st time), that a manual order would be placed and that I would receive a confirmation which never came (2nd time), and when I went back the 3rd time asking to cancel my order I was kicked out of the live chats 3 times. It seems there is a policy of not dealing with cancellations and doing refunds, or making it extremely difficult for clients to get through to that point. Never use them! I have been promised that they would contact me when my order is cancelled but I seriously doubt this.

Bought a bike 8 months ago been back to the shop 6 times now the bearings have gone in the back wheel, sorry that’s not covered in our guarantee. What is, the frame, what are the chances of anything going wrong with the frame. So you just guarantee parts that cannot go wrong. This leaves me having to pay for repairs on a 7 month old bike. Disgraceful. The old saying vote with your feet comes to the fore. Use a local bike dealer instead.

Bought a bike 2 weeks ago, used it 3 times, absolutely perfect. However my pedal fell off on a busy road, went to halfords today, there charging me half the amount of the bike itself to replace a part of it.

Do not buy a Xiaomi scooter from Halfords - they are unsuitable for the English winters. I have previously had good experiences with Halfords, which is why I chose them to buy my first electric scooter from them. They provided a 2 year warranty against the product (which retailed at £469). However, in less than 6 months the product has stopped working and when returned for repair I have been advised that it will cost £285 to fix because 'the damp and condensation in your area can produce condensation in the battery resulting in liquid damage' which is apparently not covered. I tried to write a review of the product on the site but they will not let me do this so this is the only way I have of sharing my poor experience to avoid others making the same costly mistake. Very disappointed by: 1. poor information regarding product limitations prior to purchase 2. bad customer service experience regarding product fault 3. review censorship - all information is accurate and as quoted by Halfords so not publishing negative reviews misleads future customers regarding product performance and limitations I certainly wish I'd been made aware of its unsuitability to the English winter before wasting £469.

absolute wasted of time booking screen repair service they don’t want to guarantee their work and you have to sign a waiver In case anything goes wrong if it’s cold and dark they make excuses so they don’t have to carry out the work don’t waste your time with this company i can’t see this company lasting more than five more years with a push Going to Autoglass to repair chip in windscreen Such a bad service

I visited the store yesterday to buy a jump starter pack I bought on click and collect. It wasnt cheap at nearly £100 but I like Halfords as company and have the used the shop many times every year. Everything was fine until I got home and opened the box to find there are no instructions or lead to charge the battery pack. I went back to the store and asked if they could change it for another one or even just supply a lead to charge it which they sell according to the assistant. Unfortunately they had no more in stock and couldn't order one in from another shop or depot. The assistant spoke to the manager who wasn't really interested and seemed to suggest I take it back home without a lead and instructions or accept a refund. I couldn't really hear the conversation as they were talking over their Bluetooth ear pieces but that was gist of it according to assistant. By this time I had been in the store for 45 mins and said ok I give up just give me a refund then. I had paid via paypal and was told that the credit would go back to paypal then into my linked bank account, yes thats fine I said. The assistant had to speak to the manager to get code for the till and was going well until he said put your card in the machine, I didn't have my wallet as I didn't really want a refund, just a lead to charge my fancy jump starter pack. I asked could he not as he previously had said just credit paypal back, the answer was no. I was told I would have to go home and make a third journey to the store to get a refund and he shrugged his shoulders that's it. Not happy and wont be using the Chelmsford store again, all this could have been resolved by simply supplying a lead they sell anyway for a few pounds and if I had my wallet I would have bought one. Poor service and attitude by the Manager and a very disappointed customer who had only ever had good experiences with the firm

I would strongly recommend going elsewhere should you be looking to replace your ‘weak’ car battery, Halfords Autocentre disconnected my battery without backing up the power to the electronics and guess what the car did not restart. So basically their people started my car drove it into their Autocentre and were unable to drive it out. Halfords Customer Services are completely not willing to accept any responsibility and was their hands of the individual consumer, they do not care and certainly customer satisfaction is something they are not interested in. I would avoid them again and not let them near a car. I may take my bike to them for a service as this is the level I’d trust them with anything mechanical. AVOID new battery purchases from Halfords and go elsewhere there are cheaper and less expensive alternatives with better customer service.

Please be aware that when ordering click and collect Halfords ignores the customer store preference and decides where the customerhoukf collect. Customer 'poor' Service Tesm are extremely unhelpful to say the very least and so uninterested nonchalant and rude. They will nog transfer hou to a manager and cut the call repeatedly. I woud avoid Halfords at all costs. Their store ethos is based on a purely arrogant take the money attitude when they clearly make a mistake they are not in the slightest way helpful in trying yo resolve the issue.

So my first bike built by the halfords "experts" was brought out with two buckled wheels and I was told I can get it sorted the following week.. I hadn't even ridden my vengeance yet and it was broken. After the period the axle had become bent and they decided to give me a new bike. When I got the bike the wheels were ok, I had to straighten the handlebars and seat, but everything else seemed ok. I just wish I'd checked something very fundamental and safety critical.. that the wheels were tightened and werent likely to fall off.. which they did. Twisted my ankle but managed to get the bike back. Hopefully halfords in Cambridge will take it as a lesson to teach their "experts" how to build a bike before it puts somebody in serious danger.
