“Note that Horizons Music is, quite probably, a professional scamming operations run by Neil Monteiro and a somewhat dopey person called Carolyn.
I placed an order via Discogs which turned out not to be in stock. When I requested a refund they tried to stall me for ages. I had to open a Paypal case to get my money back - which took over a month.
Horizons Music have been BANNED from both Discogs and Paypal thankfully. How they can be allowed to operate is truly shocking (lack of regulations in England, eh?).
If you’re having problems with Horizons then contact Citizens Advice Bureau, notify your bank and also Action Fraud (Police).

“Be Cautious When Shopping at Horizons Music
I placed an order on the Horizons Music website on March 23, 2024, at 11:06 AM. Several months have passed since then, and I have neither received the product nor a refund.
The website promises to process refunds within 30 days, but it is now July, and I still haven't received my money back. I have sent multiple emails to their customer service, but I have received no response at all. This behavior is nothing short of fraudulent.
I strongly advise everyone to avoid purchasing anything from this website. If you don't want to experience the same terrible ordeal I did, stay away from Horizons Music.”
“Ordered a record 3 weeks ago, expected it to be dispatched soon after as payment taken. Still no record. Have emailed twice, no reply. Tried to call but only available 2 days each week and never answered on either. Then this week they basically tell you to go away as not answering the phones. Apparently they are upgrading to allow same day dispatch?? I’d like it to be same month at this stage. Won’t ever buy from this lot again. If you aren’t going to dispatch once you’ve taken payment you need to contact the buyer to let them know why and when to expect delivery. Wish I’d read these before placing my order!”

Same as the other, I jave placed an order 3 month ago and by constating that i did not receive the item, i start to ask why, The item received by this company was not corresponding to my order, i asked to be refunded. As the others customers, the guy suddenly decided to not reply to my requests done by mail anymore and of course, I did never receive any refunding. Not professional and only interested to have the money. Please do not place any orders on that website, it is a scam !!!”
“I purchased a vinyl as a gift for my husband as his first Father’s Day. I paid extra to have it arrive in time. However, as I’d not received any shipping details I contacted Horizons music, to be told the vinyl was out of stock. I requested a refund and purchased the vinyl from another supplier. However, after waiting for 14 days to receive my refund from Horizons music, it failed to turn up! I tried to get in touch with the owner Neil again. You can’t contact them by phone, they just don’t answer. I did have a few emails responses from Neil, but he was less than helpful and failed to make numerous promises that the money would turn up in my account. This was almost a year ago! And after backwards and forth over email, I’ve still not received my refund. This guy is a thief.. his company is a scam!!! I paid £50 for a vinyl, I wouldn’t have been told was out of stock had I not been in touch. Stay away from this company. Do not trust him! If you have brought from him go straight to your credit card company or Bank to try to request a refund before it’s too late!”

“I ordered 4 “in stock” rare vinyls on next day delivery on 18th December for a Christmas present, did not arrive and emailed on 22nd December to try and find out where they were, I had no reply until mid January to say that only 2 of the 4 were in stock. Of course, I shared my disappointment but accepted that these things happen, my husband has ordered from Horizons for years and has never had a problem so I put this down to a one off. I asked for the 2 to be shipped and the 2 out of stocks to be refunded, Neil Monteiro replied and said refund would be issued within 14 working days on 23rd Jan. I waited and waited and the 2 in stock still hadn’t arrived 2 weeks later, I chased Neil and he said he forgot to tell the dispatch team to send them, they finally turned up on 23rd February. It is now the end of March and I have been told on multiple occasions that the refund will be in my bank in 14 working days and there is still no sign.
I received an email on 21st March from shopify to say that the order had been updated and 2 had been noted as refunded although when I still didn’t receive the refund I raised a complaint through Shopify. Neil then forwarded the complaint email to me to say “the order was only updated on 21st March, refund takes 14 working days from then”. Still waiting.
It’s absolutely beyond a joke, he is a scam artist and should not be running a business. Please be careful before you order.”
“Sadly all the negative reviews appeared after I, too, had placed an order.
Suffered the same fate as my friends below in that ordered an item that the business did not actually have - got offered a store credit, refused this, got offered this again or another disc - refused again and said wanted a refund.
They agreed and said 30 days - that timeframe elapsed yesterday and nothing - so have emailed 3 times now chasing money and basically had enough so will encourage anyone with negative feedback to post as many reviews as they can elsewhere to stop this business taking money off people who just love their music.
Report them to your relevant fraud offices and lets see if we can take action against this behaviour.
Go to your bank and see if they can get the money back for you.
The man needs to be stopped.
