this is the millionth review that says IKEA has THE WORST customer support ever. AND IT'S TRUE. They STOLE MY MONEY. Just don't buy anything from them online ever. if there's any problem with your order or if you don't received the package you'll never be able to reach them to get your money back. You can call but the call will get dropped and you can email but they will never RESPOND. terrible for such a big company.

Ordered a sofa bed It arrived on time, then the delivery guy decided to stand one box upright and walked off. Unsurprisingly the box toppled over as the balance was WAY off! The box landed on metal railings between the two properties and punctured the box, packaging and product. After inspecting the damage it was immediately obvious the product was punctured from falling onto the railings - I refused delivery of that part of the product and requested a replacement. I've then had calls to the IKEA customer services center and arranged for delivery on the only day it was possible for me to be in to receive it. (Job commitments mean there was no way I'd be present during normal hours) Delivery date and time arranged and I even made special arrangements to leave early to ensure I'd be back well ahead of the delivery window. I then get a text to tell me that the delivery has been moved TO THE FOLLOWING DAY! I've now wasted a lot of time having to ring up and speak to customer services to explain the situation, wasted my phone credit, wasted my time, put myself in the spot light for arranging to leave early at work all because the delivery agent couldn't do his job correctly. I can't even fix this myself as the item isn't held in store (Directly delivered from the warehouse only) Subsequently they [IKEA] are going to have the re-delivery attempted on a day I specifically told them I would NOT be in - UTTER WASTE OF MY TIME. The delivery service are as much use as an ejector seat in a helicopter!

Ikea has the WORST customer support ever! They are just as difficult to get a hold of as it is to build their products. I ordered a product online, and all I want to do is return it because it didn't work out and it is impossible to get a hold of them. There isn't an Ikea where I live so it's not like I can just drive to a store and return the product. When you call the customer service number, the only message you get is "We're experiencing higher volumes of calls than normal and we are unable to take your call right now" and then it hangs up on you or if you're able to get through to customer support, they say that's the Resolution Dept, let me transfer you, and then you get the same message above. You don't even have the option to leave a callback number or wait on the line. Plus when you email them, they DON'T respond. I would give them the benefit of the doubt if this was the first time but sadly it isn't. I always encounter some sort of problem with Ikea whenever I make a purchase from them. I've always wanted an "Ikea home" too, but it is very unfortunate and I can say I will NEVER buy from Ikea again. And you think they have a good return policy right? Like 365 days to return something....well that's because that's probably how long it will take them to handle the return process. Absolutely ridiculous! Just avoid the headache.

Ordered from here a couple of times now. Product quality is the same as any other cheaper-side catalogues. Initial delivery timescale is ok, but in the event of issues, there is a difficulty in getting answers. Most recent order, a lamp was loose and unpackaged, under other glassware so this was broken. A new one was arranged for a week's time, fine. BOTH wardrobes where missing screws - I was told multiple dates for getting these, lady on the phone was very unsure. At first it was 2 days, then maybe in with the lamp order, then a full week. The screws are in stock, and I know DPD work on a shorter timescale than a week - the staff member being so unsure on the phone makes me doubt she got it right. Nothing to recommend.

IKEA is like a family day out. I will look online for the items I want. I write down the locations of where all the items for me to find quick. I find IKEA very easy to get around either way. The staff are extremely helpful, never a bad word to say about them. I would be in IKEA maybe 3/4 times are year to buy furniture and small pieces.

When my order was delivered, several parts were missing or broken. Here's what I did since then to contact IKEA customer service: (1) I called IKEA customer service about ten times and was never able to get through to the appropriate department. Usually, I was disconnected after making the appropriate selection on the phone. Sometimes, I was at least read an automated message saying something like “because of a high volume of calls, we cannot take your call at this time. Good bye” (2) I called the contractor who made the delivery (North American Logistics) several times but wasn't able to reach anyone. (3) I wrote two detailed emails to customer service this form a week ago and have not received an answer (although an answer was promised within 48 or 72 hours). I find this inability to reach IKEA about items I paid for but that were not delivered outrageous. I have given up hope that IKEA will be available or respond to my request.

The worst customer support for online orders! What happened to you IKEA? I ordered a rug online about a week ago. I had a choice of delivery days and chose this coming Tuesday. It is now Sunday and it has still not shipped, so I called the customer service line. The first agent had no information other than it had not shipped. I already know that. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. Instead I was transferred to an extension that said they were very busy, to call back later and hung on me rather than putting me on hold! VERY rude programming for customer support. I called back and asked to have my order cancelled due to the fact it would likely be late and because of the poor customer support. The lady then proceeded to give me all sorts of information I already had and said she could not cancel the order. She started rambling on with useless information I already knew, so I attempted to interrupt her to ask a question. Instead she VERY RUDELY attacked me for interrupting her and told me she would not tolerated being interrupted! Poor hiring of customer support agents, delivery planning and rude phone programming.

I order a couch, was supposed to arrive September 1, but for some reason, the couch was on the truck then got lost. Got scheduled for another delivery date on September 17, But the same thing happened. Then when the couch finally arrived on September 21. It was missing all of the pieces to connect the hardware. All this time the costumer service was less then helpful. Would highly recommend to do all that is in your power to avoid buying from them! (Btw, the exact thing happened just weeks before with my sister.)

Like many of the posts before me, I have been a loyal & happy Ikea client for over a decade. Shopping at IKEA in Melbourne Australia was always a pleasurable experience and I never had any problems with the sales, service, delivery or the products. This all changed when we moved to Boston Massachusetts. Our experience with the Boston store has been the polar opposite to our Australian experience. We’re renting an apartment and we needed furniture quickly and at an inexpensive price. IKEA was seemingly ticked all the boxes, so we purchased everything from beds & sofas right down to the dinner plates. Big mistake. The delivery process has been a horror story. Our delivery was missing items. Contacting the help desk by phone & email is impossible. I either get the “we’re experiencing higher than normal call volumes” message - then the line drops out, or I speak to somebody who can’t help and get transferred to the “we’re experiencing higher than normal call volumes” message. I’ve made the 76 mile round trip to the store twice now, and believe it or not, the recorded voice message was more helpful than the staff. Every staff member you speak to gives you a blank look and tells me it’s not their department. There are no managers to speak to. My money has been sucked into an IKEA black hole, most likely to never be seen again. I’m now left sitting on half a lop-sided sofa, contemplating how to get the rest of my order.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL service. Please please do yourself a favour and do not buy from here. Delivered a damaged item. Couldn’t redeliver for a week. Made me pay again for new part and won’t refund delivery fee as apparently they provided a delivery service!!!! So wish I hadn’t bought my kitchen from here. After care was rude and disgusting. You are better off going elsewhere. I will sue for out of pocket expenses.

Would give negative stars if I could. Ordered bedding online to be delivered to my son at college on 8/29. Got a notice on 8/31 that it had shipped . . . . only FedEx says they only got the label but no items. For the past week I have called and called Ikea for help and got nowhere. The first couple of days the person answering the phone transferred me to the department that was supposed to help me, and each time that happened I got a message that their "call volume" was high and they could not take my call, and hung up. Unbelievable. Today I tried calling again and this time the system wouldn't even get me to a live person - instead when I went through the phone tree it ended with a message of "we did not get your selection - goodbye" and hung up on me. For the past two weeks my kid has been sleeping without bedding - yeah, I know, first world problems - but the absolutely non-existent customer service by Ikea has been unbelievable. It's as if they have deliberately set up a system to never help a customer with an issue. Worst. Customer. Service. Ever.

Not only poor customer service, criminal fraud. They charge for the full order and send a package where 40% of items are missing. I finally get through to tell them and they reorder some, but not all, of the missing items. I am now on 19TH attempt to contact them again over a period of 10 days. The phone tree rejects all callers "we're unusually busy" and email never gets a response. There is no way to get through. In short: they charge you for everything, send some of it, and have no intent and as far as I can tell even no records of what they didn't send, But it may be IMPOSSIBLE to tell them. So you have to go to your credit card company if you want to recover. Huge cost to customer. And IKEA pretends they are all orderly and nice. Never have I ever seen such disdain.

Very bad experience with IKEA delivery. I just bough a house in the new development area and they fail to deliver the package to my address. I have waited for them in my house for the package. They could not find my address and some one from their delivery team call me and I tested the instruction to them. After I tested them about the instruction and I keep waiting my package. Later on they call me and email me said they miss me when they attempted to make delivery. And ask for $39 re-delivery fee. Unbelievable. I have same day delivery from Febex and Costco. They all do not have any problems. I end up cancel my whole order and they still charge me the original $39 for shipping. I end up waste $39 and my time. Stay away from Ikea shipping.

Disgusting delivery service which does not deliver making you have a wasted day! and it seems like a common practice buy ikea to not keep their word. Customer service is equally disgusting over the phone.
