“I bought a suit from Jc Penny's and it came in and it did not fit so I returned it and they received my refund on November 28 2023 and I am writing this on January 20 2024 and still have not been refunded, and everytime I call I get a different story. Erin at the coustmer care advocate Team has been handing my case since the beginning and has done absolutely nothing about it she is incredibly incompetent and really bad at her job she should be fired”
“I placed two orders through my JCP account. The first defaulted to an address I hadn't lived at for years. I noticed this on the emailed order confirmation. I called JCP. They said it had been more than 20 minutes (3 hours) since purchase, so there was nothing they could do. They said that I should call UPS when I received a shipping notice. The order sat with JCP for two days before a label was printed and another two days before UPS picked it up from JCP. I called UPS, and they said JCP (the shipper) would have to contact UPS to change the address, a common practice. JCP then said they couldn't do that. UPS will only change the delivery after the delivery is refused on the first try.
JCP screwed up my delivery address, refused to change it two days before the label was printed, lied about how to resolve it, and wouldn't take steps to resolve it with the shipper. I sell online, so I know how easy it would have been for them to resolve the issue. I'm out $100 unless the resident at my old house is honest and refuses/sends back the order.
Meanwhile, the customer service representatives were unpleasant, and disempowered. I felt sorry for them.

“I purchased 2 cardigans on January 4, 2024 with ship to store arrival stated as 1/10/24. The next day, it showed “in transit to store”, with the money removed from my VISA. It is now 1/17 and still showing “ in transit to store”. After speaking with customer service as a “ valued customer” - I was told it was probably lost and I would need go to the store and file for a refund for a product that I never received, 52 mile round trip. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with JC Penney, but it is the last!”
“I have had a CC account with JCPenney's since 1972 (51 years) and granted I have not used it for a while, but today I went to use it in the store and it was declined. What?? So I used my MC and completed my purchases. I call JCP when I got home and they said they closed the account in July of 2023. I asked why didn't I get notification of the closure and they just said they don't give notice. Really after 51 years they don't give notice ?? OK so no more JCP even with my MC.”
“Jcpenney sent me someone else's package. I returned it. I never received $88.45 in items that i ordered. They refunded the items that I never received in 6 sporadic small increments that only totaled $53.14. I've called customer service atleast 6 times.They claim to elevate the situation which I then get an email claiming they refunded me. They have not. I asked to talk to the manager and they said they don't call anyone, they only email. They never respond to my email and when I call back, they say the case is closed and then the circle of lies begins all over. I have emailed them a copy of the statement proving they did not refund me the full amount. They dont reply. This order was placed 12/8 and I'm still battling this with them. This is in fact stealing when they keep your money for items you don't receive.”
“My sister went to you to buy a watch to track her steps daily. Your advertisement offered a good sell, but she didn’t read the very fine print, She could not afford it with your bu——-t advertising. “I paid my balance in full yet a couple weeks later got a $2 charge and bill for "interest". I called, waited nearly 1/2 hour for a manager and asked for the charge to be removed. (Very poor business practice, as it degrades customer perception and probably costs more than $2 to generate the bill. I understood that the charge would be removed. Instead, got an additional $2 "late fee" and the following month JCPenney reported the late payment to the credit bureaus!! I ended up paying the then $8.56 in fees and after waiting 32 minutes on hold for an agent to start to tell my "why" I was charged the disrespectful fees, I explained that I have endless choices on where to spend my money, but only "some" of the choices deserve my business. JCPenney no longer deserves my business!!!”
“Wrong color and size was shipped. My order total was $86, yet I have to pay return shipping and my total refund is only $66. I already paid for shipping in my order! What the heck is going on in this world?! These companies should be shut down. I will never deal with a JC Penney n- line or in-store ever again! “Order 3 pair of shoes on line. Received a rug and some kids shoes. Not what I ordered. They tell me to return the items for refund and pay them again for the items to be reshipped. “My husband and I went shopping at JCP Peace Way store. We saw the men's band ring on sale there on display at $499.99 and $699.99. My husband asked the sales associate to show him a ring, which she did and at same time removes the sale price tags off the displays. When she totalled it up, saying it was $812+ with taxes after discount, I asked why did the tags on display say $499.99, the one he chose and she replied they are no longer on sale, that's why I took the sale tags and pointed at the sign behind saying they're now up to 60% from the regular price. That was not right. If the price tag had been there when we arrived, and quietly she took them off. We would have just continued shopping. Disappointed with the service she gave us and we did not purchase it. She stated they'll be on sale again on Valentine's day sale. What?”

I purchased a dining room set from Penneys for over $1200. I have had this set for less than 2 weeks and everything was fine until this morning. I came into the room and there was a 2-1/2 inch crack on the top of the back of one of the chairs.
Penney's wants a $125 restocking fee and a $95 return fee because I did not report this within 24 hours of delivery. So they do not stand behind the product.
I've been on hold for over 25 minutes -- still waiting to talk to supervisor.
DO NOT BUY FROM PENNEYS. Do not buy Signature Design by Ashley Realyn 5 piece dining set.”

“I placed an order for Christmas gifts for my children. When I picked up the first order I got the box opened and an important item was missing . I was told the only thing they could do is issue a refund. Order number 2023341412675410. The item missing was Therabouts Hooded puffer jacket, which was supposed to be a gift . I placed another order (2023350412969887). This item was supposed be ready for pick up that same day and I never received a phone call letting me know what was going on. I finally called and they told me it was being shipped from another store. Again this was a Christmas gift that I never received. That order was placed on December 16,2023 so it could be given as a Christmas gift. I’m now being told it will arrive at the store on the 29th and I can’t get a refund until then. I’m now out of money because I had to purchase it from another store. I was inconvenienced more than once and will never use JCPenney service’s again.”
“The customer service that I received from James at the return desk for online orders was not good. He told me that I could not return a coat because it didn't have the tag on it even though I had the receipt. The receipt have been taken off the code because it was supposed to be sent as a gift, but was the wrong size. Then I spoke with his supervisor Lisa who was less than friendly and not helpful as well. Finally I spoke with assistant store manager Meshelle, she was finally able to assist me properly. The selection in the store has gone down dramatically over the years. I used to rely on JCPenney's for their Ultra tall clothing. I can hardly find anymore tall clothes anymore. It seems as though they may be going out of business. The attitude of the employees and the selection says they may be near their end. So sad.”
