“I recently rediscovered Penney's. I have found a few great items and thought I might be making more future purchases but my in store experience was off putting. I received a coupon via email after my first online order. I attempted to use it for an in store purchase but the item I was buying was excluded from the coupon. Sometimes that happens but as I waited in line about 7-8 people ahead of me in the queue also attempted to use coupons. Every one of them was denied for a variety of reasons. It felt like a scam to get people in the store with worthless coupons. The employee was very rude to the customers and kept complaining that it was only 15, 10, 5 minutes before closing. Not our problem! If he had been more efficient we would have been out of there quicker and since we were within the hours of operation he should not be complaining about having to do his job for the full time that he is being paid to do so. With so many physical stores closing and the lack of customers in the store, one would think they would do more to encourage shoppers business instead of driving them away. Why do the employees not see the correlation between servicing customers and the continuance of their job/salary? It looks like that employee will soon have even more free time on his hands.”
“I ordered online using discount and rewards coupons but surprise they canceled my order claiming that the coupons had already been used but that if I paid the fixed price they could do me the favor of reactivating the order which I understand as click bait to make the customer believe They gave you a discount and then they tell you we made a mistake but don't worry, pay what we asked you now and the merchandise is yours.”

“I placed an order for shirts for my son. He had moved to another state, I had placed a previous order from JC Penney to the new address, and thought it would default to the new address, but the order went to the old address in another state. All the representative would do is tell me to contact UPS or the new resident in the house. I have no clue who is currently renting, and I told the Penney's rep UPS can't go back to the house and demand the package back two days after it was delivered. No help! “I have entered my zip code 5 times to get the message I was sent byJCPenney Credit Card account confiming that I cancelled my account, and I always get "Invalid or Unknown Request". Well I know my own zip code and so does Penneys they have sent mechandice to this zip code for me so why doesn't it register when I put it in at their Synchrony company request. And of course you can never ever talk to a live person to find out. I guess I could if I wanted to spend the rest of this day or week tracking someone down. I give this company 2 thumbs down. No wonder I cancelled my account with them. They also decided they were going to charge their customers $1.99 for a written statement each month. What a Joke! They never send me monthly statement. I only get them when I've purchased something, and I think they owe me a statement and NOT at my expense.”
“I purchased 2 dress shirts for my son to try on for a wedding. Size medium and large. The medium was too small and I needed to exchange it for a larger size . Went back the following Sunday only to find out that I lost the receipt. They were able to find it based on my credit card information and still gave me grief about the return. After it was all said and done the women was totally rude the entire time to me talking down to me as if I couldn’t afford the shirts to begin with. She would not allow me to exchange it for a larger size and I had to leave before I said some unkind words . Let’s just say they lost my business from now on .”
“Returned damaged junk jewelry after their jeweler declared was not repairable then manager refused to credit my account and instead gave me a $193 JCP gift card. We also bought the lifetime warranty at $58 and this charge was not refunded as well!! This bracelet was bought at one of their big sales, Which is their way of getting rid of the junk they sell. After 40 years of being a JCP customer, I will NEVER give them more business!! Horrible customer service and employees are clueless!

“The store in my city has a high employee turnover to say the least. In their defense, the “pool” of employees in this small city from which they have to choose is not great. But my last few visits to pick up online orders has been like going to the circus. The employees are the dumbest I have ever seen. One even told me they don’t return your tax, right after I received a full refund for an order of shirts. Who trains these idiots?”
“I bought three gold chains from the store on Florida mall in Orlando. After 3 months, two of the chains fell apart. I returned to the store and they claim that there is no warranty on it . Chain is made of cheap Material. I will never ever buy another jewelry there. I wasted 600 hundred dollars. It’s a shame that they sell poor made gold chains. I had to take chains to a jewelry store for repair. Be aware”

“I bought 3 shirts on a Saturday in the coastland mall JCPenney store.
I took all the receipts and labels in the garbage.
A week later I found that the 2 shirts are to big for me.
Then i packed the shirts and contact the customer service at the JCPenny store , the Supervisor Brain, spend a lot of time to find my shopping receipt in the system, and get my money back..
This was a great customer service he did. Thanks a lot t Brian and the team of JCPenney..

“My visit to the JCPenney portrait studio left me feeling deeply hurt and disheartened. It was meant to be a joyous occasion, capturing the early moments of my precious son's life, but instead, it turned into a nightmare due to the disrespectful behavior of the photographer, Larry.
As soon as we walked in, Larry's attitude was sour, and it only worsened when my son started to cry. Instead of showing understanding, he lashed out at my family, raising his voice and making us feel unwelcome.
The situation escalated when he scolded us for something as simple as placing my grandson on a blanket. His tone was harsh and demeaning, making me question why I had chosen to trust him with such a special moment.
What truly broke my heart was the way he treated my husband. Instead of diffusing the situation, Larry resorted to using racial slurs and aggressive behavior. It was terrifying, especially with my daughter and grandson present.
Feeling scared and vulnerable, I felt the need to document the confrontation, fearing for my family's safety. Thankfully, the manager, Teresa, intervened, but the damage was done.
This experience has left a lasting impact on me. It's disheartening to think that such behavior is tolerated in a place meant to capture cherished memories. I hope JCPenney takes swift action to address this issue and ensures that no other family has to endure such hurtful treatment.”

“I was at JCPenney and it was going pretty well until check out. The employees name was Christine and she was checking me out. I had a tie that didn't have a tag on it. So she was forcefully slamming things about then did a huffy breath and looked up numbers for the tie. When she finished Scanning everything I asked if there was a security tag on the jacket I bought and in a rude snotty voice she said " I already got it" then I was making a separate transaction for my makeup and it had a pink sticker. She told me it was buy one get one free.I told her I didn't think that was true but she insisted that I go back because it was. I went back to the makeup and asked the lady working there if that was true.she said no. I went back to the check out and told her it was not a part of the buy one get one deal. The manager was standing behind her and said it was not. Then She rolled her eyes and made a face saying "well then it shouldn't have a pink sticker on then huh". I felt like this employee was acting like it was bother some to be working.”

“I ordered a bedspread on JCPenny.com. Estimated delivery : 4/2. On 4/7, I tried to cancel my order because it was taking so long, I will buy elsewhere. JCP online can't help with that and my local store in Harrisburg, PA will not cancel my order. Keep in mind, this item is already showing on my bill.
I guess I will wait until the store finally sends it, then run over to pick it up and return it while I'm there.
