“Sent a Picture which was wrapped in several feet of bubble wrap which was secured with lots of tape, it was then put in a picture box and again covered with Fragile tape. The picture never got to the recipient and when I checked the tracking it said it was damaged and returned to sender and signed by someone I did not even know. Checked with neighbours but nobody of that name. Its turns out its the name of the lady at my PO. Went to PO and spoke to the lady who knew nothing about it and had no documentation for it. She checked the parcels she had but non of them were mine. I contacted the CEO who passed it to their CS who told me that they would not compensate me as there was inadequate wrapping. They claimed it had broken glass in it and they had to open it and take the glass out and re-wrap it and there was no return address on the parcel. I know this is lies as there was no glass in it, it was acrylic glass which is virtually unbreakable and would only break if it was crushed by another heavy parcel or run over by a truck! Also the acrylic glass would not come out as it was wrapped in lots of bubble wrap and sealed and then in a box. I contacted the CEO again who has passed it to another person who says they have seen the picture of my parcel and there was no return address on it but would give me a refund once they have investigated. If it was re-wrapped by them which they claim, they probably never put the return address on it. Trying to get them to send me a picture of the damaged it is like trying to get blood from a stone. I have to send them lots of proof but they fail to send me the picture of the item, which makes me wonder why!" However it does not matter whether its damaged or not, it is now classed as lost! But they still refuse to compensate me. I will never use Parcelforce again and will use DPD which is cheaper.
UPDATE they eventually sent me a picture of my parcel which did not show any bubble wrap and it just it shows the (flattened) box so obviously trying to make out I did not wrap it properly. They also failed to show the Frame on the picture so that must have been badly damaged and could not show it. They also still blame me for it now being lost as they said I should have put my return address on the front of the parcel and not on back of parcel, which is rubbish as return address is always on the back of the parcel.
However they have now said they will compensate me as I was quite prepared to go to small claims court and they knew if I did that, they would not have a leg to stand on.
My advice is if your item is lost or damaged, contact the CEO of parcelforce and tell them you will claim through small claims court and stand your ground. Do not give up! When you send your parcel and pay the insurance and it is accepted at the PO and by Parcelforce they are then liable for any loss or damage. They rely on customers just accepting what they say and walking away.”
“What a shamble of a company!!
Having ordered an item from the United States, which is major component for a car, everything ran smoothly till it hit this company! Having arrived into the country on the 6th January, and stating on USPS it cleared customs, this company then foresee to take it all the way to THEIR Coventry Customs to then hold it there, when this is the part that is needed to make my partners car run.
Having this company on 8th January to see where the parcel is at 10:46, I was told this parcel was not even in the country, when we knew for a fact it was. I then ring again at 14:32 to be told it has been moved to their customs, which is contradicting what I was told nearly three hours earlier!
I rang in again on the 9th January, at 14:41 to be told it is with Customs and there is nothing they can do and that I have to wait for letter from them to tell me how more extra we have to pay them! I also questioned to this gentleman why is it we have had parcel come from the US before, and never been charged custom charges, and he said this is being charged due to the 'value of the product' so this product was over £200+, and because of this, this is why they have sent it to Coventry.!
I understand custom charges, however we paid extra for postage for this parcel to be here the latest the 8th January and this is now stuck with this company who are not accommodating to people what so ever, and who can apparently not contact their customs department nor can we the customers either!
We paid a substantial amount more for postage to have this arrive on a quick time scale, this company have forgone the agreement we made with the seller of this item, and I am disgusted by their lack of help.
And when passed through to their 'feedback' which you ask to get put through to, you are not told you need your local depot 4 digit branch number so you can't even complete this feedback even if you wanted to and you are not told this when being put through!
Avoid using Parcel Force for International deliveries as nothing you order will arrive on time, and they make your life more stressful than it needs to be!”
“Wish a negative star rating for this company!
'Your parcel has been returned to our depot following an attempted delivery or a problem locating the address. Please check the tracking below. Our driver will have left a card explaining what to do next where the delivery has been attempted.'
I booked the day off work to receive the parcel as it was an expensive purchase and I wanted to avoid this very situation. An attempted delivery was NEVER made as I was in all day. An information card was NEVER left so it wasn't until the tracking page was updated at 6pm that I was informed the parcel wouldn't be delivered and I had no instruction of what to do. And the staff where unbelievably rude and unhelpful as the depo was closing within the hour that I rang so it was obvious they just wanted to get me off the phone.
DO NOT USE!!!!!!!”
“placed an order on 1st jan dispatched to you on 2nd delivery promised by the 5th still no delivery have tracked reference number parcel sent from manchester to northampton on 4th and still bloody there according to website bloody annoying thing is is would have almost passed our town on way to northampton am surprised you have any customers left”
“The website says they have tried to deliver (100% lies) and also says they have left a card (100% lies) I phoned up before it gets sent back to another country to see what problem is they tell me they have my package they have checked address and taken my mobile number then said they would send out tomorrow which they have still not done. I hope some billionaire will take them on with a better service because they are useless with problems all the time for me.”
“Useless all I can say . There web site reviews have even been stopped as they are so bad.
Sent a parcel to Sweden large ( gone missing it seems ) or (someone with sticky hands )
no support all you get is there trying to locate it managing directors office 01908687249
only number to get a complaint to”
“Parcelforce held my parcel all day Friday, failing to release it for delivery. It was supposed to be delivered by the end of the day. I was assured that it would be delivered today Saturday. Then I got the message that as it wasn't a premium delivery it would not come until Monday, possibly not until 18:30. The item has to be fitted on Monday morning. I just got through to the helpline after a 40 min hold. Of Parcelforce don't work Saturday afternoons! The advisor put in a request for an early delivery Monday. I will let you know if that happens.”
“Parcelforce 24 taking 4 DAYS, Tracking information highly inaccurate stating "in delivery depot" even after item had been delivered, lucky i was at home.
Parcel handled so badly that lidded and sealed plastic jars wrapped in bubble wrap, in heavy cardboard box had burst open spilling liquid contents over everything.
What a way to run a delivery service.
DPD on the other hand send accurate emails, give one hour slot for delivery. I ordered items yesterday 1pm delivered today 1.20pm. That's what i call service.”
“Did't deliver within the time frame paid for. Items turned up damaged looking like they had been kicked from Yorkshire to Scotland. Then trying to get some money claimed back off them is like urinating in the wind. Passed from pillar to post, Now having to take them to court. DO NOT USE PARCELFORCE pay a little extra and use Hermes.”
“People, these guys don't respect your property at all, despite how well you've packed your item and how much boxes you've used and bubble wrap. Despite any additional insurance purchased they will destroy your item and reply will be as follows: "we cannot offer compensation on your claim due to insufficient packaging being used to post the goods". This is standard phrase to close any claim without right to appeal. They disregard any photo evidences that proving that it was packed securely, they disregard any labels, they just take money from you for such a poor service and that's it.
I've sent a computer packed in a wooden framed plywood box filled with the air cushions, polisterol separators and bubble wrap so that it could survive any reasonable drop. However it didn't help, all internal components were destroyed by such a shock that even pci slots were dislocated, but the box was not intaked. They said there should be extra external cardboard packaging to the wooden box. This is ridiculous, how can cardboard be stronger than the plywood.
All my attempts to get compensation were ignored, despite the fact that I paid extra £15 for the Enhanced insurance cover.
I encourage all who have had bad experience to go to small claim court, may be this will help to change the situation with such a terrible service.”
“I received an email stating that my parcel would be delivered on Friday, 29th December. I stayed home all day. Did it arrive? NO. Late that evening I went into their tracker service, only to find that my parcel was still at their national hub, which I believe is in Coventry. I live in South Wales. Why on earth did they send an email stating it was being delivered on a specific date when there is absolutely no likelihood of this happening. The parcel finally arrived at my local depot (Newport) in the early hours of Saturday, 30th December. Obviously there was no delivery on the 30th, 31st and 1st January. My parcel eventually arrived on Tuesday, 2nd January and when I questioned the deliveryman he could offer no explanation as to why an email had been sent and made matters even worse by saying that they did not work on Friday, 29th December ???????? Unbelievable. Their tracker service needs to be updated far more frequently and timeously and if they hope to attract more business they will have to "get their act together". What a shoddy service. When my parcel eventually arrived it was delivered in a white, unmarked van, by a man in ordinary clothes (nothing to show he was a Parcelforce employee), and with a woman in the passenger seat. No wonder other logistics firms succeed where "Parcelfarce" fails.”
“Second time I have to deal with parcel force and never again. The parcel force website is totally useless. Don’t use it, just call them. I tried to organise a redelivery to another address and a local post office but the website couldn’t recognise my postcode or my work postcode. I then organised a delivery to my own address but the postman didn’t show up.They only leave a delivery note on the first attempt delivery, so you have to check on line where you parcel is. Their south London depot is in Croydon which is not a practical location at all. After calling them I manage to get my parcel deliver to my local post office. Hopefully it will be there.”
“Ordered item on the 15th of December Parcelforce 48 item is showing as ADVISED contacted sender it was with parcel force next day its now 2nd of Jan 2018 still no parcel.”
“Never give these idiots a penny, they have no respect for your property and won’t accept responsibility when things go wrong
Parcelforce broke my £420 guitar, despite it being in a padded case, with airbags on 4 sides and in a sturdy outer box marked 'FRAGILE' on all 6 sides !
How the hell they managed it is beyond me ?
They sold me insurance to cover the value too, but have refused my claim, and subsequent appeal.
They said their guidelines state 'a hard case' should be used for guitars, but as an experienced musician and guitarist for over 40 years I argue that this guitar was better packed how I had done it. I detuned to slacken the strings, so there was no string tension on the neck. It was interesting how they drop the odd one liner in with ‘guitar speak’ as if they knew what they were talking about, but you can see straight through that ‘must follow procedures and look professional’ mask. It was clearly rehearsed responses to pass blame back, it’s disgusting behaviour really !
I provided photos of the packaging and common sense should have prevailed, but no, they clearly never had any intention of taking responsibility or paying compensation.
What kind of employee throws such a package with enough force to break the neck on a guitar ?
This was not just a 'chuck it in the van' scenario here !
I've dropped a guitar on the floor at band practice in the past (not this one I might add) and not even marked it, so this would have been thrown with considerable force.
So I am completely out of pocket.
Multi million pound business dumping on the little guy !
It doesn’t matter how well you pack something if Parcelfarce employ people who clearly like to throw fragile packages !
Don't give these idiots a penny, use another courier service”
“Very bad account manager/ sales persons.
It’s better to buy their service through a reseller or agent (Parcel monkey, parcel2go Etc..)
If you buy directly from them you get a bad deal.
They think customer are stupid and don’t know how to shop around for deals.”
“Being prepared for the volume of parcels during the Xmas period is fundamental to the success of a delivery business. It seems Parcelforce were unable to do this and the lack of information compounded the issue.
There are very good delivery operators out there but Parcelforce is not one of them.”
“Numerous occasions late. May even accept they're at fault but do nothing to makes things right. Lost a parcel in transit and refused to pay ocmpensation/reimburse the large sum I lost! DO NOT USE!”
“If I could have give this a NIL star I would have, sadly you have to press one to trigger the review. Like other customers my package came from the US and that side of things was all smooth. Happy to pay the $66 delivery charge but once in the UK it all goes distrastrously wrong. Parcel FARCE are an absolute joke, lack of updating the tracking system, unclear customs charge instructions, then even after paying the addditional £57.50 to get it out of customs some idiot puts it in the 'wrong' PF box. My item has been in the UK for a month...AVOID if you can...”
“Package #cx149099786us not delivered..mailed on time from US...paid $91.40 for delivery....you are now asking the recipient to pay a customs surcharge...are you out of your minds? I will pursue US Postal, ask for a refund, and insist that they drop you...cancel your contract...disgraceful...SEND the package...”
