“Local store is being changed drastically internally due to taking over next doors Boots floor space.
Spent double my usual shop time trying to find produce (everything had been moved)avoiding other equally frustrated customers going up & down the aisles like headless chickens (but only found 50% of it). Eventually found their milk, sell by date was yesterday. Paid for what I had in my trolley and bought the rest from Morrisons including my milk - will be going there in future. Sainsburys are, by this visit not interested on customer relations.”
“Their security personnel terrorise me like mad at sainsburys and I don't know why because I haven't done anything wrong. I wrote to SIA to complain about them and I was advised to complain directly to sainsburys. Things haven't really moved from that "Is Britain racist" programme that the BBC aired a few years ago and corrupt security firms are still continuing to drive business' customers away”
“Had only the second online shopping delivery from Sainsbury's, we were very disappointed. We had many products that were passing the sell by date the next day. We rang and did get a refund but were told, they should have been highlighted on the receipt and if they had then there wasn't anything we could have done. We were told it is Sainsbury's policy to send out short-dated products if possible, unlike ASDA that have 3 day minimums. So we won't be using Sainsbury's again.”
“I called customer support cause they locked my online account! A lady confirmed my detail and let me wait about 5 minutes! Then told me my account had been closed forever and I was not able to shop Sainsbury’s online groceries anymore! The interesting thing was that she didn’t allow me to say a word after she announced the decision rudely! she interrupted every word I tried to say! She kept saying the only way to discuss this was to write to head office! What?! Will I die without your food? Nobody will waste time to write to head office to beg you to sell products to them! There are plenty of online grocery I can shop! I want to ask you 3 questions! Is your price competitive? No!!! Are your products the best? No!!!!And do you have the best customer service? No!!!!! You will lose your customer one by one without attention! You will be eliminated from your peers if you continue to treat your customers this way!!!”
“Had Sainsbury's delivery to home, to be honest very weird one... Delivery guy bring my order in plastic boxes at the door step, I thank him took boxes said 'give me a second I will empty them and bring it to you' took boxes start working then noticed he's right behind me walking, and looking around my home, I quickly stopped in living room and started upload right there as quick as can, he's talking.... Next thing he says 'are you Polish...?' I was so annoyed at that point, just spit it out not I'm not... Turn around gave him boxes and even thank him... Jesus Christ please don't send me such a creepy delivery guys... And just so you know not all immigrants are from Poland...”
“My partner donna tripped over a raised manhole lid in the petrol station kirkcaldy complained to the manager then further online and asked for cctv to take it further as she really hurt herself to be told cctv doesnt work you can have a £50 voutcher take or leave it for a big supermarket its a joke to trat people like this no wet signs were up either and lane was closed till repair was done i will leave this review as many places as i can find and can only reccomend avoid this company at all costs my mrs side was all bruised and she felt humiliated and the higher up in the sainsburys was also not interested the store manager sam fraiser was helpful but his hands were tied to what he could do agreeing with us sainsburys was at fault thanks for taking the time to read regarding the shambles of head of complaints”
“Ordered a delivery and they never showed up. No phonecall (i have an Apple Watch so would have known), we where are home waiting and our door bell is loud!!! The help centre operative could not have cared less!!!”
“One of your drivers was really inconsideratly parked in my estate, along 3 permit bays there is plenty of visitor parking around where he parked. I waited for him to return and he laughed at the situation.
I have an allocated numbered bay, if you dont park in your allocated bay you will get a parking ticket. I truely believe some of their delivery drivers need extra training in parking and even customer service I am also unsatisfied at how my complaint had been dealt with by their online chat staff and also over the phone by the contact centre which was lacking any empathy or solution to this issue.
Very disappointed Sainsburys.”
“I have been using Sainsbury’s online delivery for about 4 months now. I am increasingly unhappy with condition/ expiry of food delivered. Several weeks ago I had bananas that were black and damaged( did get a refund) then the next week I had lemons in a net and half were mouldy( shouldn’t have been too hard to see) . Then the request for individual baking potatoes or apples ( to reduce packaging) that look like they are on steroids. Recently I have been getting veg and meat with 1 or 2 days left until expiry, and no advice from driver about being short dated. Then the latest, a dearer substitution with no refund voucher to use! Definitely getting worse.”
“Response from both senior staff at the store and Sarah Tilley at head office were patronising and unhelpful
Following an incident scraping my car on an unseeable broken bollard below the site of the driver’s eye”
“Just had an online delivery of grocery which was substandard because everything was delivered soaking wet. Cereal boxes and all manner of plastic were wet through. They can’t help the heavy rain but was surprised that due to weather conditions the trays were not cover over and all dry food items were at top of trays. So boxes wet through. Also unpacking the trays noticed several plastic bottles were covered in mauve covered liquid and stains. Finally unpacking tissue boxes , kitchen roll and loo rolls all covered in coloured liquid. Unpacked the items onto hall carpet, driver rushed off quick as we started to bag it up we realised stains and liquid were wine. This was not part of our order and obvious something had split over our delivery. As we had not realised this at first there were drips on carpet. Phoned number to complain and told we had option either to refund some of damaged items or take the whole delivered ourselves back to London Colney store for a refund. Not only is this not our local store , but we would have to bag everything up and take it back ourselves , Sainsbury refused to collect the order. We spoke to several people but just go round in circle. Even head office just put you back to the original team which seem to be in Scotland. My argument is , if if by an item of furniture which is delivered faulty, the store comes and collects it, it is not for me to deliver it back. They refused to even collect the next day , although they would be happy to deliver another order the following day. Although they offered refund of £20 , that is only against another online shop which again they would deliver but not take the faulty goods back. Will never use Sainsbury online again , and such poor custom service will probably never use their store again.”
“Ordered shopping online for home delivery. Received a call 30 minutes into the hour slot shopping should have been delivered to say they could not deliver due to technical issues.
First point is: Did they only just become aware of the problem?
No rearranged delivery times for order placed for at least 5 days.
The refund of money we paid, over £100, will take 3 to 5 days. So, they can take money for shopping order instantly but can't refund for 3 to 5 days.
What would have happened if we had no other funds? No food for 3 to 5 days?
Offer of compensation: £10 off next order. Seriously, you think we will place another order.”
“What has happened to Sainsbury's??? Have used their online shopping for years with no issues, after having numerous problems with other stores, and suddenly it seems their customer service is absolutely shocking! They have removed all emails (apparently), their online chat is useless and 'advisers' lie to get you to leave the chat without solving any issues, and they expect you to contact them via social media sending personal information to pass 'security' in order to deal with your issue, to then not even reply to your messages. Not sure how this works in regards to GDPR but after my experiences recently, their new system for dealing with issues is beyond poor and I will be looking at alternative stores again after being a loyal online customer for 10 years+. It's such as shame as the delivery drivers are usually brilliant. Sort it out Sainsbury's.”
“. “By far the worst online supermarket that I've experienced. Be aware when you are getting delivery on expiry date, most of the products you’re getting are expiring in the same day, or a day after delivery. When you talk with customer services and ask for a manager the answers is ‘no’. I asked to take them to my local store for a refund, the answer was ‘no’ like on the most things you are asking them. Very disappointed and the best is to go in store to check them by yourself otherwise they will deliver what expires very quick.”
“By far the worst online supermarket delivery that I’ve experienced. Be warned - I was told by customer service that the drivers clock off at a specific time and, without informing customers, take whatever deliveries are left in their vans back to the depot. I was sent a nominal online only voucher as compensation - worthless because I won’t be using Sainsbury’s online service again. Not surprising there is no way to email Sainsbury’s customer service. So many negative requests here and on trust pilot. Shame because their in store groceries are good.”
