Wendy Etchells. Sofa & chair delivered 11/12/24. Recliner on the wrong side. Still awaiting this to be resolved. They rang & told me 31/1/25 distribution centre would call. Now told they are not coming!! I don't want to deal with this Co. Have requested collection, but they are not making it easy

Promised delivery before Christmas then told Jan then told couldnโ€™t due to weather then told couldnโ€™t for a third time Due to traffic! 160mins + waiting time on phone to try and speak to customer service and no reply when contact forms sent numerous times. Disastrous!

After years of buying with SCS I can quite safely say I wonโ€™t be dealing with them again. In 2022 my mother who unfortunately had been diagnosed with cancer was told she needed a recliner chair to support her needs. We decided to buy a Lazy boy sofa as we were confident of its quality . In Nov 2024 I noticed whilst the chair was reclined a huge tear on the side of the sofa. I investigated further and soon realised that part of the structure on the seat next to it had caused the damage as it had been clearly rubbing on a piece of wood each time it was reclined. There was also significant damage to the other seat. I contacted the warranty company who were prompt coming out, they confirmed a manufacturing fault and offered a solution of 1) recovering just the two seat covers and 2) modifying underneath the sofa to stop the problem happening againโ€ฆ. It shouldnโ€™t be happening in the first place, itโ€™s a manufacturing fault ! I asked the warranty company to put the claim on hold as I wanted to speak to SCS as I had concerns over the solutions and didnโ€™t feel my consumer rights and their guarantee promise were being met. By recovering two seats there will be a difference in colour and condition of the rest of the sofa after two years and why should my sofa be modified underneath to meet standards a high quality brand should meet! So much for the 10 Year Guarantee, where you can sit back and relax, knowing that your ScS sofa and/or chair is covered against manufacturing defect ! Is this also a case of being mis sold ? as SCS clearly donโ€™t care. I have emailed the company twice and sent a recorded letter to raise these concerns to try to come up with a suitable and fair solution that meets my consumer rights and meets there guarantee promise but have been ignored and have had no response what-so ever this started in December! My mother is now not using the recliner as she is worried the tear will get worse. I am now going to be perusing this matter further. Caring for an elderly sick mother I need to be investing the time into her and not chasing up a company who once they have your money donโ€™t care about the quality of their products they are selling or the guarantee promises. My mum needs a sofa that she is confident will meet her needs! Please look at my profile pic and you will see some of the damage!

The question should be what went right. Have never in my 70 plus years experienced such diabolical customer service. Having said that I should explain there was absolutely no customer service. Hundreds in the phone queue, they do not respond to emails. Sent one computer generated response about their problems nothing about my order. Only response I got was from Steve Carson ceo.within minutes only to be informed he no longer works for them, lucky him. He referred me to someone else who totally ignored my emails and concerns. I have only listed my disgust at their customer service but could add the lies they spout about their delivery dates. Surely reviews should be primarily about their products and not the horrendous way they treat their customers. Like so many avoid at all costs shameless, charlatans

Avoid!!! I ordered in September with the promise of delivery before Christmas. Now its January 2025 and its not due (estimated date) till February 2025. So now its after 28 days of the delivery date we are now getting a refund!

Ordered 2 sofas. Paid in full. Waited 8 weeks for delivery, they turned up the wrong colour. I ordered dark grey and got white. Waited nearly 2 hours for customer service to answer the phone and she was rude. 12 weeks later the new sofas turned up again in white. Not the colour I ordered. We wonโ€™t be using scs again. Nearly 6 months and still havenโ€™t got what I paid for. Terrible service and customer care. .

Ordered settee and chair on 22nd may paid in full was told 14 weeks max after 14 weeks had text saying furniture was in distribution centre would have delivery date in couple of days gave my old furniture to charity shop and cleaned room ready heard nothing so rang for delivery slot was told it was clerical error what a joke, was told for months it was in container at docks on 29th November container with my furniture in was damaged and all contents scrapped and asked if I wanted it reordering it would only take 12 weeks as problems have been sorted so I said reorder it I would wait 12 weeks checked tracking and it says expected 28th February checked next day now says 22nd march that would make it 10 months if it come on that date itโ€™s now 28th January emailed 3 times 5 weeks ago theyโ€™dont reply

Everything. Ordered sofa in September said delivery would be 27th December then cancelled said 7th January, contacted me yesterday (6th) said further delay it will be in their distribution centre on 9th. Arranged delivery for next week 15th. I won't hold my breath. Never shopped there before never will again. They've got my money. If I could give this review no stars I would. You cannot speak to anyone directly, constantly told call wait is about 400 minutes finally called me back this morning. In the meantime still getting text messages saying delivery drivers on their way. Apparently texts generated before they were told there was a delay so I really didn't know what was happening. Poor and shoddy service. Cannot even phone the store you ordered from. One disappointed and extremely angry customer.

Sofa was due in September, paid in full. October and November I was told it was delayed. December comes along and I get a call to say the sofa I ordered is no longer being made. Had to then wait a further week to get a refund sorted. Avoid this company at all costs.

SCS main product is not sofas its DISSAPOINTMENT, Every step of the way. Can't imagine how this company remains in business. The catalogue of error reads like a horror story. The one star rating is a complete exaggeration

Should be a zero rating. Bought an advertised 3 seater which started sagging within a few weeks. Complained then had a visit fron assessor who told us it wasn't fit for 3 people and cushion was inferior, only to find his report to the Ombudsman said we were sitting too close to the edge. Enlisted Trading Standards whose attempt at getting a reply from SCS have ignored. They just don't want to know once you have paid. They have even ignored the manufacturers request to revisit my complaint. Don't know how they are still in business.

Scs experience ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH we paid in full donโ€™t know if you take hp contract any better but from our experience they just donโ€™t care took down details incorrectly from start. Phoned lady from Scs who corrected details but told us delivery date had been delayed by two weeks from what we had been told in store so now would be 13th December. We told her we had no sofa from original delivery date. We also told her we would like to go down cancellation route,advised only store management can deal with that. Yep here we go visited local Kirkcaldy store to tell them we corrected contact details for delivery also told suit wouldnโ€™t be with us until 13th December we want to cancel as we have no suit until this date and we are in our late fiftyโ€™s so this is not acceptable. Yep wait for it yep pass the buck shop manager said donโ€™t know why they told you it was up to me it has to be head office. I was raging ๐Ÿ˜ก I requested he phoned from store and sorted it out he refused and said he could only email our complaint to head office. Yep thereโ€™s moreโ€ฆ. Got phone call saying we will not get refund full stop basically nothing we or he could do.๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก The latest update still waiting as container with our suit hasnโ€™t arrived. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY WE ORDERED THIS SOFA SEPTEMBER 15/9/24

Just tell the truth if the sofa isn't being delivered!!! Paid in full. Said don't mind when sofa comes but just be honest. Wasted my breath- lied to! Do not buy anything from this company!

So new home buyers of our first home as a couple, thought we would take the jump and buy a new sofa, sales people were good, did their job well. Conformation of my purchase came through 10 minutes later, delivery address was incorrect with all of the information on the lady, phone number, address etc, I emailed the helpline, no answer, called any phone numbers I could get, no definitive answer or resolution, went to the store and kicked up a fuss (putting it lightly) then they finally actually looked into the error. No apology given, no compensation (not that I asked, I just wanted my sofa), spoke to the delivery men who were excellent, they said "oh yeh, that happens all the time" just sums up my entire experience with SCS and I will never shop or even consider shopping there again. Very disappointed!

I simply want to know where the sofa is that I have paid for in good faith and is overdue by 3 weeks. Scripted customer service with nothing but delaying tactics. They DO NOT save your place in the queue and ring you back. We ordered our sofa at the end of summer for guaranteed christmas delivery. Now, no one knows if the sofa is even in this country. I rarely write reviews but this is absolutely necessary to avoid other customers becoming so stressed. Avoid at all costs.

What has gone wrong with this company SCS? It's a complete joke the whole thing has gone from bad to worse. We ordered a power recliner chair and a sofa in August we knew there would be a 12 week wait while the items were being made in Italy, happy with that. So a week before the 8th of November 2024 got an email from the delivery company saying that they will deliver the sofa. This is the start of the nightmare... First of all the sofa was damaged (scuff marks on the leather) and no sign of the chair? we asked what about the chair, the driver said has nobody contacted you. We replied No , oh dear you should have been told that there was a descrepency with your order the chair was in the country they just did not no where!! This is a big power reclining chair not a stamp. So 16th of December weeks later a chair was delivered this was also damaged (scruff marks again) it was also missing the power pack and a completely useless and a different colour to the sofa. So what next. Well it is a nightmare trying to contact anyone at SCS you will find you are 135th in a queue, that should have been a red flag and a warning, if they are having that many complaints daily no wonder you can't get through to anyone. What next after two days managed to talk to someone explained the situation to him (sorry for the inconvenience and problems you're having..) he then said to take some photos and then send them to him via WhatsApp. We are getting on a tad and I am disabled. Disappointed isn't a strong enough word. Thanks SCS you have ruined Christmas for us. I would strongly recommend you steer well clear of SCS they take your money then don't have any interest in you as a customer...
