Disgraceful company. Bought sofa in sept for delivery 23rd Nov. Got cancelled til 18th December then cancelled again to January 4th despite guaranteed delivery for Christmas. Got sofa 13th January and it is atrocious. The Centre seat is collapsing. Doesnt line up with other seats. Underneath lining is ripped and the back of it is just a mess. Taken many many phone calls to get someone to listen yo the complaint and not getting anywhere fast. Takes them about 30 mins to answer phones. Finally got a technician coming on Feb 4th to look at it. They can take it away. Cant sit on it without sliding forward and sidewards. Wont be accepting a repair under sale of goods act. Watch this space. Not convinced they will turn up. On NO account should you buy from SCS. Disgusting , uncaring company

our 3 piece suite is still sitting in garage after 7 weeks. Unable to bring it into living room due to the strong chemical smells which we believe to be formaldehyde.Paid 2 thousand pounds for the furniture but scs dont want to know. Stay away from these liars. We are now going to donate the suite to charity and if we get any comeback regarding dangerous fumes we have emails from SCS saying there is nothing wrong with the furniture.

5 months and still no delivery. No customer service Awful company. I had 3 delays to the delivery, now almost 3 months after the sofas were supposed to be delivered I have moved house and they said they are due to be delivered shortly. I contacted them and sent the new address, they asked for a utility bill or a council tax bill. I sent a council tax bill. Scs then refused to change the delivery address without a photo ID. I don’t have that as I have just moved and my driving licence has been sent in to be updated. If the delivery happened when it was supposed to I wouldn’t have this issue. I asked for a supervisor to call 3 days ago and nobody has been in touch. Overall it’s been a awful experience. If you are making an expensive purchase you expect a level of after care after the initial sale. Scs have no interest. God help anyone who has something go wrong. I can’t imagine you will get it resolved with this company. 5 months since ordering and still no delivery date. I am starting to think my money has been stolen

THINKING ABOUT BUYING FROM SCS? DON’T DO IT… AVOID THEM. This is going to be a long post… but to give you the gist of my experience with them… they will lie to you, they will let you down… they will do a bad job (if you are unlucky enough to have them fit carpets at your home)… they will then wash their hands of you as a customer. To say that it's been a bad experience is an under statement. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM If you have carpets fitted and there is an issue… SCS will wipe their hands of the problem and tell you that your contract is with the fitter, not with them. So basically they send a cowboy round, he makes a mess of the job and SCS says tough, don’t complain to us, speak to the fitter. There solutions is to send the same clown round to fix it… even though he proved that he’s incapable of fitting a carpet. It’s unbelievable. I just hope that anyone that sees this, will go elsewhere and not order from them… save yourself the stress. ————————————————————————————————— We ordered carpets from them in October… first of all the estimate and quote we were given was wrong… turned out we would need more carpet, okay I can accept that… but I have to say after it was fitted I’ve never seen so much left over carpet… we definitely paid for more than was needed. The fitting… was delayed/cancelled twice, each time it happened at the last minute, each time they used excuses such manufacturing issues and couriers going bankrupt. (Funnily enough the fitters told me these ‘excuses’ weren’t true and that our job was being ignored by the fitters because they don’t like jobs on wraparound stairs). Each time they cancelled, we were told that SCS would call with a new date… but didn’t hear anything so had to chase it ourselves. SCS really don’t like contacting their customers. You will struggle to find a company with worse customer service. Going off point a little bit… we’ve called up many times to ask to speak to a manager… there is never one available. The manager will call us back they say… it’s never happened. It was looking like our carpet wouldn’t be fitted before Christmas, SCS hadn’t even confirmed that it was in stock… but out of the blue they told me that the fitters were coming in a couple of days. The carpets were scheduled to fitted on a Sunday, I was told Sunday morning and that they would call an hour before… so I waited, and didn’t hear anything… so I called SCS… they told it was still happening and that she would get the fitters to call to let me know a time… still no call. Eventually they arrived after lunch time (no masks), one of them inspected where it was being fitted, I showed him where I needed the carpet to finish… no problem he said… but he still managed to cut it too short. The three fitters were at my home for more than 4 hours… fitting the carpet to the wraparound stairs, ie to two stair cases and two landings. They were nice enough guys, I didn’t have an issue with them. Interestingly they were happy to talk about SCS and tell me how bad a company they were… alarm bells were starting to ring. I was quite grateful that these guys had accepted the job, the fitter told me that he couldn’t ignore the job and see us not get it in time for Christmas… that was until we inspected their work. They told us not to hoover the carpet for 24 hours and that it needed to settle… so we followed the instructions but we realised it was almost impossible to hoover it because it was loose everywhere, its not fitted. Around the doorways where it should go under the plates, it doesn’t, the plates themselves are poorly cut and fitted… just unbelievably shoddy. They actually cut our carpet over the road from us on a small car park in the rain, when they dragged it up stairs we ended up with mud and dirt all over our walls. During the fitting, there was lots of banging (which is to be expected) but it did damage the plaster on our walls… I could accept that if the carpet was fitted (but it isn’t), I’m not sure what all the banging was about. Like I said earlier it was crazy, the amount of spare carpet that was left over, there was rubbish including gripper roads, scrap bits of metal, nails, empty drinks bottles.. all left for us to clear up. My wife and daughter actually stood on bits of the metal that they had left on the carpets and cut their feet. We took photos, did a video and followed SCS’s complaint procedure and were quite relaxed about it… it was an inconvenience but we just assumed that SCS would be helpful and understanding and it would be resolved. How wrong we were. I would have thought from a health and safety view point that they would be concerned that we have loose carpet on the stairs… particularly with young children.. but SCS don’t care. They like to push the blame on to the fitters… they tell you that the contract is with the fitters… and thats it up to the fitter to correct the issues. If we only had a small problem, if it was only a small mistake, then fine… I have no issue with them coming back and rectifying it. But there was multiple issues… why would we want those fitters back in our house? SCS finally agreed to send a surveyor they also said that it may be possible to send a new fitter… great I thought until a few days later the surveyor was cancelled… apparently they have all been furloughed and SCS are back telling us that our issue is with the fitters and not with them. They sent me over their terms and conditions to show me where it says this… and apparently thats their final decision. Its laughable. My argument is that I didn’t pick those fitters, I wasn’t able to see their references, see examples of their work… SCS picked them, SCS sent them to my home… surely SCS should be vetting these workers? So why am I stuck with them… why can’t SCS send someone round to fix the job? Its because they don’t spend the money to rectify it. I was also told on the phone that we would be compensated for them cancelling our fitting twice… and that someone would be in touch to discuss that with us. Never got the call. You would think SCS would be interested to see just how bad a job it is… you would think they would want to do something to make sure that this doesn’t happen again? No… SCS don’t care, SCS are happy to keep using them… SCS want to send them to my house again. Don’t use SCS… just look at the reviews on here and other review websites… look at their shoddy furniture, look at all the customers still waiting on orders… look at all poor people who made the mistake of ordering carpet from them. Awful company.

I ordered a sofa for delivery 2nd week of December 2020. Then got a message saying 23rd December and can we have the rest of the payment by 21st. Message on 22nd December, sofa not in warehouse for delivery. Delivery arranged for today. Delivery men said they couldn't get sofa in. Don't know how much they tried as I was working at home. I know find out that the process for redelivery is for me to contact an upholsterer used by SCS and pay him. £150. I don't know if others have done this.. I think if SCS used removal men rather than delivery men I may be sitting on a sofa now. Not sure if what the upholsterer does. Just take off the feet?

I ordered furniture in September and was given a lead date of 27 November for delivery. I was then told it would be the following week because of a shortage of the chemicals needed to make the foam. This fact is actually true but the Store Manager decided to embellish this excuse by saying that the chemicals used are need in COVID testing and that's why they are in short supply. This is blatantly untrue as the two chemicals, Propylene oxide and Toluene diisocyanate are both carcinogenic and highly toxic. The next delivery date given was 21 December and then updated to 5 January and this time I was actually given a delivery date - today. I was then asked to pay the balance. I did that and 3 hours later received a text to say that delivery date had been cancelled and they couldn't yet give me another one. In the meantime I had been reading many, many horror stories from customers who had actually received their furniture and it was grossly inferior that that seen in the showrooms. Some of the photos displayed were horrific. I decided at that point to cancel the order and did so two days ago. This fact doesn't seem to have got through to all departments, despite the fact that I already have a full refund. I received a further text this morning to say my furniture will be delivered on 15 January. I decided to ignore this text. I'm sure they'll soon work it out for themselves.

I would if I could give no stars I would if I could give no stars - we are currently having to live with a carpet on our halls and stairs that isn’t fitted properly, isn’t attached in numerous places, damage to our wall and paint work! We have been dealing with issues ever since we ordered our carpet back on Oct 2020 (paid in full up front) delays after delays then to have the carpet that isn’t even fitted properly NIGHTMARE - stay clear - use someone else even if more expensive!!!

I did this and was told I could not have price match only the difference, completely mis lead and sold, would never use again. The manager at branch was appalling

ordered a 3+2 highlander suite in sept 2020 was told i get order before christmas then i get a email in october /november saying that i was not getting furniture now until 21st jan 21 due to a shortage in materials - believe that if you like -more like they furlowed staff and production stopped , id say that be real reason for it as other furniture retailers have taken orders and customers have had goods delivered before Christmas. now im told that delivery has changed and its a estimate on the 29th January 21 . the customer service dept within scs are 100% lacking in customer relation skills their totally rude and need some basic business training. would not recommend scs to anyone and certainly wont buy from them again. i shall be trying for refund soon and going elsewhere if scs cant get their act together. how the have the nerve to continue advertising and cant come up with the goods show they only interested in the money and customer satisfaction is not a priority.

Bought suite and carpets in September, “guaranteed Xmas delivery” ended up picking up carpets myself beginning in December as apparently a huge company as yourselves didn’t have a carpet fitter, twice over at the store for a refund of my delivery and carpet shampoo you didn’t bother to deliver, each time told “you need to speak to someone else, you’ll get a call tomorrow”....call never came. Told on 10/12 my suite was being delivered on 18/12. I asked in store weeks prior to this if there was delivery problems with my sofa, which would be understandable, but told “no, we would have known by now”. Get text on 17/12 to say I would be getting my time slot that night, so allowed the person who had bought my old sofa to come and take it away. Instead get a text at 6pm night before delivery to tell me there’s a manufacturing problem and they didn’t have a delivery date for me! So now at this point sitting on the carpet with nothing! Spoke to customer service, put me through to the store, was assured I would get another phone call the next day for an update and guess what? Yip again no phone call, next call was 23/12 to say it was in the warehouse now and first delivery was 6/1, meanwhile we’re sitting in deckchairs and beanbags which is a fantastic way to sit with your family throughout an already crappy Xmas. Announcement in Scotland yesterday about a lockdown. on Scottish government website it says furniture stores will close but they are still allowed to carry out deliveries, and yip another text 20 minutes ago saying that because of restrictions they can’t deliver which is absolute nonsense, DFS called my friend today to arrange her delivery for Sunday! I completely get there could be delays during this situation but to tell someone the night before delivery, twice! after guaranteeing Xmas delivery and for the amount of visits and calls I’ve made that have never been returned has to be the worst customer service I’ve ever received in my life! Would not recommend using this store as I’ve just been fobbed off at every turn
