A zero star will be more suitable for this company. My property terminated SSE supply in March 2021. Bill settled within a month, thinking case closed for good. Little that I know a year later, May 2022 I received a big invoice demanding a whole year of consumptions which was not even supply by them . Good try SSE! Spent 1.5 hours on the phone transferring from 1 department to another to close the account. That's how efficient this company who provides the UK nation power n gas.

Dreadful company, staff are incompetent. Couldn't even get my email address right. Still haven't got an account set up. Bill arrived estimated, yet we have phoned in the readings. Booked a smart meter fitting appointment stayed in for 6 hours. No phone call. Nobody contacted us & nobody turned up. So cancelled not even sure they could get the readings right. Dreadful.

I can only reiterate the comments made in other reviews. I have spent hours on the phone trying to get through to their Customer Service Department without any success. Online complaint forms go on unanswered. Worst company ever and it seems to coincide with being merged/taken over by OVO

customer service is terrible. Waited 40mins to get the call pick up and the call cut off due to signal issues I had to wait for another 40mins to get another person to talk to, and repeat the same answers which are so annoying.

This is seriously the worst company ever.Nothing has been sorted..no bills ,no money transferred. I've been waiting and calling them so many times.Every time just empty promises. I don't know how to even describe this. I spent so much time on phone ..and still nothing.Please avoid them.

Absolutely USELESS!!! I can't stress that enough. Absolutely USELESS!!!! I havent had a gas bill in 2 years and everyone I speak to is hopeless, doesn't sort it out, makes empty promises and does NORHING. I'm sick of sitting for ages on their hopeless phone line waiting for someone to answer, only for them to do nothing... And filling in online forms which are IGNORED. AVOID like the plague!

Experience with sse is beyond a joke. I have a bill that’s on a closed account which is over 3 years old. I had a payment plan set in place for 2 years then because my daughter was in hospital having a back operation one payment wasn’t made so they cancelled the payment plan without me knowing at all!! Until 2 weeks later had a red letter saying I owe over £1000 now! I called many many times and they would hang up after 45 minute holds to get told they would only accept DD doing forward to set one up. Yet paid by bank transfer for 2 years!! Spoke to them again after continuing to make payment via bank transfer that they will be sending it on to debt collector even though it’s being paid because it’s not via DD. So ot will be passed on even though I am paying each month! This company is the worst I have ever dealt with and should not getting away with operating this way! I have contacted citizens advice who said what they are doing is illegal yet continue to do it this way!! Human empathy doesn’t come natural to there’s people!

The call handlers are ridiculously rude, speak over you constantly and do the absolute BARE MINIMUM to help. I wouldn't recommend this supplier to ANYONE. THEY'RE AWFUL

So poor it's laughable. I was having bills demanding thousands after I moved in to a new flat. Three times I phoned to try to sort it out. The last time I was on hold for 2 hours. The service from the operators was terrible. One girl could hardly understand my postcode, the next operator told me not to worry, even though I was receiving debt collection letters! Now I can't log in to my account to give a meter reading as it's been over 3 months since I moved. They have given me a £900 bill for 3 months and I haven't even been living in the flat!

What a useless shambles of a company. I sold my house in June 2021 and finalised both gas and electric accounts. They keep sending me "final bills" for electric and gas usage after the property was sold, and every time I go through the same rigmarole of explaining the accounts have been closed and providing proof of final payments. Despite this, lo and behold another "final bill' arrives a few months later. These useless clowns have even referred debt collection agencies to me. For the love of god avoid this company like the plague.

Like all reviews below. SSE and OVO are run like the mafia,M with party crackheads whom we're lucky to have even got them out of bed or from wherever they last crashed out. They will be the ones owing 100's on DD's and threatened by 'debt' collectors soon. An absolute farce of a company. The stress they cause affects customers, extended families and friends and is even fatal.

Worst customer service!!! rubbish company, Careless people they don’t care I struggle with payment due to health issues, they won’t accept to make split bills, I wanting to change supplier they won’t let me change, never my life been such a stressful situation!!! Absolutely avoid.

I encourage everyone to request there personal data! I will be making the 'subject access request' in my next message. Maybe then I can finally end this absolute madness and find out once and for all, just how deep the dishonesty has taken root.

If I could write a review without giving 1 star I would. Takes ages to get through to anyone on the phone, they don't answer emails and they don't pay money owed to you through the Solar Tariff Feed. Absolutely abysmal Customer Services!

The worst company I have ever used! I have had an ongoing issue with the company for 6 MONTHS! Every time I phone for help the advisor will mute the selves and hang up. I know this because one of them didn’t press the mute button properly and I caught them laughing! This has happened every time I have called. If they don’t mute you they will just shove you through to another advisor. 2 hours and counting Iv been on the phone today and received no advice or support!!

After being cancelled 4 times, eventually SSE installed the smart meters last Tuesday,5/4/22. The next morning the boiler would not start, and did not respond to 'on'. I was promised an engineer that morning, no one came, a repeat of the problem yesterday, again no heating. The response from Customer Service,I should pay for a private gas engineer to put it right. Then the call handler put the phone down on me !! Don't touch this company for any reason.They are awful !

Shocking poor customer service. It's one star because I can't give no stars, or minus stars. SSE have caused us so much stress. We closed our accounts with them years ago (after years of dreadful service, where we spent probably days on hold. We were also hung up on multiple times whilst being on hold) and then apparently we only closed 'one' account, then they wanted more money from us and called in dept collectors to chase us for hundreds of pounds that we don't even owe them. We feel like we've been harrassed by them. Please please, DO NOT use this provider. I think they are are scam. I cannot believe that companies get away with treating people like this. I don't think this is even legal.

I have never dealt with a company who has such as bad closing account system. I have tried for over 2 months to close my account- both gas and electric - and it appears you have to close them one at a time. Tried to call, send messages, email and web chat and they all sent me around in a circle. I have been on hold for an hour - then they dropped the call- and now another 46mins still counting and THE ACCOUNTS ARE STILL OPEN... They will soon be in contact when I dont pay. Seriously bad system, with few "good" customer service staff.
