They said the gate was closed even though I was still waiting for my items. so I contacted trip.com and was advised to purchase these tickets. They said that they’re going to refund me since it’s their fault !
And then they never refunded me after purchasing the tickets. Which I was advised by their agents to do so
After spending the 400$ for the tickets. They then proceeded to want to charge me another 163$ for my luggage So I contacted trip.com again and they said pay it we’ll refund you. Never did

I explained that was a mistake because I didn't saw the difference between the both flights but still didn't accept any explanation. Then I had to pay another ticket for the right fly....I am extremely disappointed by Trip.com inflexibility and lack of understanding in special situations. I purchased a flight to Milan Malpensa from Gatwick to transfer to Lamezia from Trip.com, only to learn the transfer flight was actually from Milan Linate, nearly a 100 kilometres away,
I had to pay €124 taxi to Linate airport which took an hour because of Trip.coms incompetence.
To add insult to injury, Trip.com, after complaining, said they couldn't find any errors on their part and offered me a insulting €24 trip coins as a gesture of good will. I am absolutely disgusted and will never use them again but will not let this go. Shame on you Trip.com.”
“This booking service will find any possible way to give you a flight that does not take you where you want to do, just to scrape cheap business from you for what looks like cheaper itinerary flights. We tried to book a flight to LAX. We chose Los Angeles as our destination. Of course this scheming business would send us to Ontario, 2 hours drive from where literally ANY other flight goes into Los Angeles. On top of that, they have absolutely no way of refunding a flight within 24 hours of having booked it, so we just lost 1750 USD to this thieving business. I tried to request a refund within 24 hours and we were stuck waiting for their response. I disputed the charge from my credit card company and of course, since trip.com is a 3rd party, there was nothing that my bank could do about it.
Do not use this company. They need to simply fail and let other legitimate business take over their space.”

“After reversing a refund from my account these guys ruined my credit score, prevented me from being able to buy my epilepsy medication putting me at risk of having a seizure. I was unable to pay bills, rent or buy food and petrol after they reversed a refund from my account with NO notice leaving me to be negative $1800 all while I was recovering from shingles and in-between jobs. They are STILL refusing to refund me.
I cancelled my flight seconds after booking and well within the specified time frame as stated on your website, when I received no notification of my refund or confirmation for the booking even though you had taken the money from my account I contacted your team via phone and was told that the refund has been confirmed and processed. After a couple weeks and no refund or email to confirm the refund was indeed processed I contacted your team again to which they informed me that the refund was processed but my bank put an authorization hold on the payment. I contacted my bank and it turns out that the claims your company made are false and not even possible. When I called you again, your team again said they sent the money and it's the bank who are holding it. At this point you had no issues in refunding the money but it seems you were lying to me that the refund had been processed.
After receiving nothing from you my bank opened an investigation and within weeks I finally received the refund. BUT a month later you reversed the refund from my account without giving me any heads up or reason for your decision. My bank investigated again and within 24 hours I had the money back only for your company to again reverse the refund 2 weeks later and sending my bank FALSE information using a whole new booking number and itinerary that I have never seen. The booking number was completely different to what both trip.com and I were using for the past 4 months.
Trip.com have now come back to me stating that they can't actually locate my booking or transaction in their system. So how is it that you have submitted this 'evidence' to my bank and took a large sum of money all while not being able to locate my booking?? After all these months how does my booking all the sudden 'disappear'?
I bought a second lot of tickets straight after cancelling the previous flights and had no issues with this booking. I don't understand why you would not give me a refund when I still bought tickets straight after spending over $2000. Trip.com is another greedy large corp company that couldn't care less about their customers and their wellbeing, only here to extort as much money as possible. There are thousands of reviews from other customers speaking about Trip.com giving false information and refusing refunds. Please stay the heck away from this company.”

Every few days they excuse themselves with an automatic reply, but on the phone, claim to not see the refund from American by their system. According to American, it is a common practice of theirs to withhold (read-steal) funds refunded by the airline for customers.

Our Air Asia flight bookings made via Trip.com had incorrect details . Air Asia albeit a budget airline was willing to provide credit refund with cancellation fee for the booking amendment . But however TRIP COM rejected air asia kind gesture of credit refund and informed us that no money will be refunded instead . We forwarded written evidence of airasia ‘s willingness to assist in this case , staff from Trip.com refused to oblige and cooperate with the airline . See attached evidence of AirAsia confirmation given for the credit refund
After countless telephone calls and stressful emails , Trip.com offered to return airport tqx which is utterly ridiculous and also NOT in line with Airasia offer .

“I booked a hotel on trip.com website long time ago and for medical reasons couldn’t travel. I contacted the hotel and they told me that they don’t mind to refund me and that I have to talk to xpedia team and they should be able to do it for me. I gave them almost 3 weeks notice and explained all the situation and they told me to contact hotel and ask them for refund as they wouldn’t do it. After almost a week talking to both ends xpedia team weren’t helpful at all they were asking me for my private medical documents and after they told me that they won’t refund me at all and there is nothing that they could do about it.
