At the end of my two year contract I have been trying to upgrade to a new phone for nearly a month. Won't go in to the details here simply would take to long. Vodafone has not been able to complete this simple task. Numerous calls to customer services, hours on hold and speaking to many different people. I will now move on to another supplier. Unfortunately the horror stories are to be believed. Their customer service is non existent and not able to resolve the most basic difficulty. My advice is use another supplier.

The worst mobile phone company to deal with

The worst customer service experience I've ever had. The automated directory system doesn't work, the staff then pass you around for fun (I spoke to 7 people in one call with no resolution). The online chat system is slow and unresponsive. Additionally, the automated messages blatantly lie. I was on hold for 45 minutes with 2 minute updates being provided outlining my wait time was anywhere from 7 seconds to 0 seconds. It is INFURIATING!

The worst company I have ever had the displeasure of using. Ended up being black listed even though they admitted I had paid in full. The complaint went on for months before it was resolved. This company deserves to go out of business and I pray everyday that it does!!

So I had been a happy customer of Vodafone for several years with no problems whatsoever, it was offered an IPad from them with which I would pay for data usage and that was all fine. Then I was contacted again by the sales team asking if I wanted to purchase a data sharing device which would share my monthly data between my iPad and iPhone, I was told it would be completely free, that it would share an unlimited amount of data between my devices and that I would only pay for postage. The next month came and I was paying £15 more, the month after same story. I rang up to challenge this and I was told that a fraud team in Scotland would get back to me within two weeks, two weeks passed without a call so I phoned back, I was told they would put a note on my account and would get the fraud team too call me within another two weeks. This happened repeatedly for over two months with no outcome or phone call. So I gave up and left for three but my iPad still had months left on contract so I continued to pay. I went into a store and asked when my contract finished so I could cancel it. I was told that at the end of my contract the payment would automatically stop. The month of my contract finished passed and I was still being charged, I rang up to cancel and was informed that it would be cancelled there and then. Next month another bill, I rang again and was told nothing had happened so I could cancel it now, again I was being billed and still am to this day, 2 years after leaving and 8 months from the end of my iPad contract. Customer services can't find my details and inform me that o should go into a store to get my account details because they can't. Completely outrageous behaviour from the company and I will be taking this to trading standards because I am due well in excess of £500 and Vodafone clearly don't care about the customers either current or ex, just about increasing income!

This is by far the most incompetent company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. That seem not to be able to do anything right. That even completely deleted my line and number that I had for 16 years. And that was only following a hugely long list of problems including 5 counts of overcharging. SAVE yourself the hassle. AVOID

No one use Vodafone UK!! I cancelled a contract with them when it was up in july, apparently their system was down so the notes didn't go on my account. I have spent 40 minutes on the phone today to be told i am not getting refunded for two payments they have taken off me for August and September. I was put on hold five times, had to do a security clearance 3 times and got no help from any of the staff. They have told me that i will be charged again in October. There has been no error on my end, the notes not being on my account is completely down to staff not having sufficient training. I will not be using vodafone for anything again. I will make sure everyone of my friends & family knows that vodafone are basically robbing me. Poor excuse for a company & even poorer excuse of customer service.

What went wrong? How about everything. When I first joined Vodafone they were one of the best networks available but now all they care about is money. After almost of year of being charged for out a bundle data – which shouldn’t have happened as I have mobile data turned off on my phone yet it is still being used, I only ever use WIFI but my data is still being used, almost 2GB in 4 hours with it SWITCHED off. They offered loyal customer’s things then back out of them once you have agreed to it and finished talking to them. Make promises all the time that they never keep. Having had my phone looked at in store where a rude member of staff looked at it for less than two minutes pretty much threw my phone back at me saying everything is fine with it – ALL LIES. Clearly there is something wrong if my data is constantly being used when it is switched off. The customer service or lack of it are very rude and will only offer assistance if you pay them for it – ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS YOUR MONEY, NOT IF YOU’RE HAPPY. They will call you a liar, make it out to be your fault and offer you thing that they don’t intend to do just to get you off the phone and live chat. DO NOT JOIN VODAFONE, GO WITH VIRGIN. Virgin use EE which has the best network coverage and offer real deals where you pay for your phone and plan seperatly meaning you can change your plan any time you want to suit you. (30 day rolling contract. Customer service is A* they are happy to help you and the best part NO UPFRONT COST FOR YOUR PHONE) I know when my plan finally ends with Vodafone I will be going to Virgin. I have been a customer of Vodafone for almost 10 years and I have finally had enough of them, they only care about new customers to get the money. GO TO VIRGIN IT IS SO MUCH BETTER.

I don't have network coverage over 5 months in my home. Customer Service are very rude and say that I can't cancel my contract because it is for 24 months. One time they say that they are working on the problem and another time they say that there is no problem and that it should be working fine when it isn't. I am in the process of taking my complaint to the communication ombudsman.

I am distraught . I have been contacting vodafone for 9 months telling them the amount taken from my account via direct debit was wrong.I have had my daughters and my own phone cut off several times as they say I have not paid my bills.I state that I have always had m( for 17 years) had a direct debit account. They say I owe £600! You get told little as they seem to know little.I am unable to view my bills on line and they cannot see them either and just say they will send a request into their IT department. Last night after another gruelling hour on the phone to them getting nowhere I tried the Live Chat and after 3 hours explaining and asking questions again, I was put through to someone in Egypt who told me I was not paying my bills for 3 phones This time though when questioned the operator revealed the amount each month fir months that had been taken was for numbers which are not even mine.WHAT! Ohhhh and to top it off I have another persons name on my account with my direct debit details on it!!! He was dumbfounded too.So still not sorted out.Vodafone you are a disgrace!!! I want this sorted asap!.

Avoid at all costs! I would give them -1,000,000 if I could! I bought an iPad with a 3Gb monthly data allowance direct from Vodafone. Due to a fault with how the account was set up, the iPad physically cannot connect to the data network and offers to sell you a data bundle. So you're thinking, hmm well mistakes happen and this can be resolved. I got the iPad over a year ago! Vodafone have failed to resolve my issue for over 365 days (but have still billed me throughout!). The lack of access to data isn't the most annoying thing by a long stroke and I'm sure it's a fairly random and unique fault that won't affect many people. What you need to be worried about as a prospective customer is Vodafone customer services utter, complete, and TOTAL ineffectiveness. Say I ran a business called John's Bricks and you were my customer. If you ordered 100 red house bricks and I only sent 50 but billed you for the full 100, you would ring me and tell me and I would then look to make good my error in the shortest possible time. If for whatever reason I didn't resolve my mistake, you would ring me up directly and I would say, ah yes, I'm so sorry, this is why I haven't fixed this yet and this is what I'm doing about. If this was John's Vodafone Bricks, you would ring me up. After ensuring you had undergone a comprehensive 50 minute hold period, I would make sure I transferred you to at least 4 different offshore operatives before transferring you to a scripted brick 'specialist' who after making you count every brick you do have at least twice, would utterly fail to grasp your problem before promising (and failing) to ring you back ever again. After three of four times of trying this process (one each subsequent occasion, I would treat your brick issue as if you had never previously told me about it), you would probably become exasperated with this process and come down in person to one of my high street brick stores. Here, I would get one of my team to promise to look into the issue before doing nothing about it for at least a fortnight before getting them to dial through to the Vodafone brick 191 helpline so they can go through the hold period, the four different operatives and the scripted brick check. I would finally conclude this by having my super brick specialist somewhere overseas promise to ring you back (which of course they will never do). Sorry about the awful brick analogy, In a nutshell, by far the worst and most frustrating thing about Vodafone is that you physically have no recourse to resolve any issues should you be unlucky enough to have one. You are forced to endure a tortuous process where you have no control over the outcome and no recourse if it's not working. If I thought I wouldn't end up on the nine o clock news, I would sit outside their headquarters and physically accost their faceless management team to ask them how they can take money for a service they're simply not providing.

This has to be the worst company out there. Terrible signal with an even worse customer service department. I gave it 1 star because I couldn't give it zero. If you're thinking of joining Vodafone DON'T. You will seriously regret it

Vodafone is simply the most shocking company i have ever had the displeasure of being involved with. Every single time i have rang regarding a massive mess up back in May 2016 they had told me something different. Now they have cancelled my direct debit due to a GLITCH in their system and when i rang up to tell them i have not cancelled it they advised its their fault but it will cost me 18 pound because i missed my bill. HOW ABOUT NO. How about you train your staff and stop scamming all your customers.

PRESS ZERO: To Avoid The Worst Experience Of A Big Company I've Had In 44 Years. Worst company I have ever I’ve dealt with. Cheats, Scammers and they have a truly awful customer service. PRESS ONE: to be ripped off and consistently incorrectly billed. PRESS TWO: to waste several hours taking to a sub-standard customer service who can’t deviate from what the system tells them and are not empowered enough to help. PRESS THREE: to only get a good deal and your issues resolved by the "we are sorry to hear your leaving team", as nobody else has the power to help. PRESS FOUR: if you previously believed this team and stayed, only to have the same thing happen another twice. PRESS FIVE: if we have doubled the price of your contract automatically without contacting you, as you are now on a “standard rate”, but hey, you can upgrade to what you had previously by committing to us for another 12 months. PRESS SIX: if we can’t cap your children’s data like other providers, as that may affect our profits PRESS SEVEN: if you've left so can no longer see your incorrect bill as the system can't text the ported number with your security challenge. PRESS EIGHT: to have your monthly allowance cut to 1/8th of its size and to receive a bill of £15 per Gb of data you went over and consider this cost ludicrously unreasonable. PRESS NINE: if you will never touch this bunch of scammers again and have moved to EE. NINE, NINE, NINE, NINE:... I'm sorry, but your request has not been recognised, press one for...Argh!!!! CYA! Avoid at all costs!

We have been a VF customer for a few years now, and customer service is absolutely diabolical! They couldn't even deal with a simple thing like changing an address. Despite being on the phone to them for almost an hour to change the address again, they STILL sent out a newly ordered phone to our OLD ADDRESS.....how difficult is it? No apology. No decent customer service whatsoever. Would never recommend them to anyone.
