Mattress took ages to come. Promised me a day and then on the day they said it was out of stock so would come in a month. We had nothing to sleep on for the month. Me and my partner have had to take loads of days off to get it - not good at all. Delivered a side table that was so broken. They haven't emailed me back or taken any of my calls about it. Furious and NO WAY will I ever go back.

Super-king Bespoke Pure Indulgence mattress delivered without a problem. After six months there were significant dips in the mattress (measured by them at >4cm) with a central ridge. Neither of us a overweight or heavy sleepers (ha ha). Rotating the mattress through 180 deg (which you should do every 2 weeks with their mattresses apparently!) unsurprisingly made no difference. Bensons for Beds have put the fault down to us and are not interested. Recommended only if you like to climb over a ridge to get at each other.

Very helpful service in the Kings Lynn store. The delivery date was on my paperwork and I received a text message as a reminder of the date. On the day i got a message to say it would be delivered 4 days later. I phoned the delivery people whose attitude was tough thats the day we are delivering. I phoned customer service waited 20 minutes then got cut off. Phoned again and when it was answered got cut off before I could speak. Finally got to someone who went to help. When someone came back it was a different man who had the attitude that it was my mistake! After spending nearly 2 hours on the phone trying to resolve the problem and arrange a delivery on the next Saturday so I didn't need to take another days holiday I lost it. Finally went back to the shop who gave a refund. Dreadful customer service and attitude.

I totally agree I have been trying since 3rd Sept to contact them on the phone for 25 mins first time then rung off 2nd time 39 mins and still no reply I have e mailed them twice and no response Contacted Steinhoffs who tried to help told that Bensons had tried several times to ring me but I wasn't in my phone has 1571 and also lets me know if I have missed any calls nothing was showing it is now 6th and still no contact this is totally unacceptable.

Super King bed ordered with good service in store, happy with quality & delivery date initially. Then phoned & told the end of bed box we ordered at the same time would not be available (4 weeks ago still no delivery date)Then the day of delivery, (I took a half day off work for it) the delivery guys phoned saying they were outside (but were not) took 20 mins for them to understand they had put the postcode in the sat nav wrong. Arrive 20 mins later. Base upstairs, mattress upstairs OK. Then ....... Wrong size headboard in box in van. Took an hour of phone calls where I was being asked by delivery centre if we had got it wrong!!! They then tried to tell me what went wrong, well I dont care, thats your problem, I just want my headboard. Delivery men left, with wrapping, ties and packaging left around the bed, & inside the base. Then the 1.5 hours trying to get through to Benson's Customer service. Who say they cant give a delivery date, didn't apologise and 1 week later we still haven't heard back. The bed was bought with a large deposit and interest free credit. Think I will stop the DD, then see how quick they respond. What a shambles.

Really helpful in store service however the after sales customer care is an absolute shambles. The order was placed in my husbands name and even after my husband giving authorization to speak with me on numerous occasions they still wouldn't deal with me over the phone. On one occasion I rang and they did confirm that authorization has been given to me and spoke to a gentleman at lengths regarding the order. I was then was passed back to customer service after being put on hold for over 45 mins to be then told that there are no notes on file that I have authorization to speak about the order due to data protection laws and therefore once again was told that they couldn't speak to me about it. The man who I spoke with was very rude and was constantly interrupting while I was trying to get my point across who then hung up on me! Yes, he really did put the phone down on me!! Been waiting now for over 8 weeks for delivery of wardrobes and still no closer to getting them it seems. Oh, and if you do ring customer service be prepared for a lengthy wait, on average its taken around an hour to be put through. Absolutely shambolic customer service. Be warned.

Well it is fast approaching 2 weeks since the delivery of our King Size Strength '5' mattress that would not fit up our stairs. Remember I posted my concerns on this blog last week.... STILL no refund in the bank (about £145).... STILL no contact from Bensons.... Not an email, not a phone call, not a letter.... NOTHING.... Their Customer Service office are only open Mon-Fri 9-6, I have tried ringing them from work but my boss got fed up with me after 45 minutes and told me to get back on the line. My wife can't ring them because they will only speak to me. So unless I can have a day off work (fat chance) I guess I am up the creek without a paddle. It's as if I just drifted in and out of their lives and they have 145 quid of mine and I still have no mattress, , they are an utter disgrace to the retail trade. Customer Service.. they do not know the meaning of the word and do you know what ?? There is not a great deal you can do about it because they are at the end of a phone in an anonymous office and don't care because apart from ruining your life they also have your money. My Granddad went to France in 1945 to help fight against this sort of thing. Anyway, all is not lost, a friend has lent us a Futon bed for the time being and I have found the head office address and an email contact for Benson's. Watch this space.. PS... I beg you.. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE...........

Absolutely awful company despite mattress actually being very satisfying, ended up getting the delivery date wrong 5 times, screwing up 2 of my work days and then never even turning up. After sending it to the wrong delivery address twice... they then sent it a second mattress to us. Would highly recommend NOT using this company.

I have been waiting well over an hour now to get through to Bensons customer service have tried all week to be told a 50 minute wait obviously gave up now trying at the weekend on over an hour now walking around with phone no answer after 1 hour 10 minutes to date, this must be the worst customer service ever!! Why are they allowed to conduct in this manner the answer do not use Bensons Beds, if there is any problems you will end up very angry and frustrated with the this company.

Having purchased a bed and after 10 months it falls to pieces advised that I have to pay for a report to evidence it is a manufacturing fault - before they would even consider a refund - and even then once emailing them with the report - you get no response - so trying to call their customer contact number …. waiting for an hour for them to answer the phone - absolutely disgraceful customer service - I wouldn't buy from Benson beds ever again - and I would most certainly will be telling all of my friends ….. don't buy Bensons !

If I could leave less than one star, I would. The waiting time to speak to customer service is currently 61 minutes!!! This company has no concept of customer service or satisfaction. Had a bed delivered, which was damaged, when they sent the replacement, I built the bed, following the instructions, which were wrong!!!! so I was not able to fit it together. Been waiting 3 weeks for second replacement and they can’t give me a date of when that will be. They suggested that I put my 81 year old mother on a camp bed while she stayed with me. I complained to “customer service”, ( I use that term lightly) and the guy argued with me, when I asked to speak to a manager he refused to let me and hung up. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

Customer service is as poor as their mattress! Purchased a new mattress for £600. With in 6 month the mattress had collapsed at the edges. I complained to bensons a number of times to be told I could pay for my own test of the mattress, however I had to use a tester they approved of. Eventually they agreed to pay for the test, but again only using their choice of tester. The tester came out and agreed the edges had collapsed and their was a massive lump in the middle of the bed. At the same time he said he was sure bensons would refuse the claim, and that their mattresses were just poor quality. As expected the claim was refused. I now wake up each night in agony after just an hour or so's sleep. Please learn from my mistake and go elsewhere.

Bought 2 beds and mattresses in December 2018. By April 2019 one of the mattresses (sensaform 9000) had dipped significantly and the top ticking had bunched and folded so badly that my son was unable to sleep properly and was suffering with a bad back. A FIRA technician reported the mattress as faulty. I was not given the opportunity to change brand of mattress so a second (same) mattress was delivered in June. By August this second mattress developed the same fault and a second FIRA technician’s report also deemed this mattress faulty. I had to call Benson’s customer services as they had no intention of following up FIRA report, they wait for you to contact them, and it takes a long time for them to answer phone. Customer services told me that the mattress would be collected and a refund would be issued the same day. This was a lie, mattress has been collected and after a day spent trying to contact customer services and hours waiting for a callback that never happened, I have now been told that it would take at least 48 hours for mattress to be booked back in before I was offered a refund. It is Friday now so I will have to wait until Monday at least. And son has no bed to sleep in until I get refund to pay for new mattress.

I went to my local Banbury show room on 25/8/19 to order Bed Base. I spoke to the Manager (Leo Devren). I saw that the bed I wanted to order had a "10% Divan or Mattress" sign. I asked it this applied to the Divan Base only, as the label was not clear. He told me to speak to Customer care. I asked him to ring them which he did using the shop phone. I waited on the phone for 30 mins before someone answered. The person on the phone said they could not help as they only dealt with after order issues. They were surprised the Manager rang the number and wasted my time. I spoke to Manager again and he said he could not do anything. I asked if he could get his region manager to ring me next week as I was disappointed I had wasted nearly 1hr in the shop. The Manager refused to do this and said I need to complain on the web page. This is a really bad experience from a shop I have bought items before.

basically mis-sold insurance!we chose mattress and were told price was £200,i always ask for any more discount/freebies and was offered £10 off and a protector and "free" accident/damage insurance.we did not ask for or enquire about the insurance.seemed like a good deal,so we bought it. then went on website to check spec. and found out it was £40 cheaper on-line! with same delivery time as ex-store.then had a careful look at invoice,what had been done was,the £200 had been discounted down to £160 (the web price),then the ins.added @£31,the protector was part of the ins.deal anyway!all of this is clearly shown on the invoice.so it appeared we had been given a £10 discount!i'm sure this is illegal.the only good part of this is the ins. has a 14 day refund,so I will be getting the £31 back(I hope)how easy this will be,don't know. salesman was very slick and friendly!

Terrible - Terrible - Service, deal with them at your peril, and the saga continues... I am surprised Benson's are still trading.. Both my wife and I are approaching retirement. My wife has a number of conditions including full blown Fybromyalgia and Spinal Stenosis. Having taken medical and support group advice we sought a new mattress suitable for her circumstances. We chose Benson's because they (we thought) were a major high street player. We went to the Trostre store in Llanelli. Granted the sales person was very nice at the time (silvery tongue upon reflection), we were in store for nearly 2 hours during which we talked at length about our needs and demands - we wanted an extra firm King Size mattress. The sales person discussed with us the features and benefits of a firm 'strength 5' mattress and how it would be the ideal choice for my wife. We explained the problems my wife was experiencing, where we lived even to the point of the type of property we lived in. After much bouncing, laying, and testing we settled on a 'strength 5' King Size (very firm) at a cost of just over £700. We paid the deposit and the balance interest free, delivery date was 21 August.... Now the fun starts.... The day before we prepared for delivery, taking our old king Size (soft) out (slid it down the stairs) and carting it to the council skips. We tidied the bedroom, hoovered etc and cleared the hall way by the front door ( you go through the front door and straight up the stairs ahead). I was in work when the mattress arrived !!!!!!!!!!!!! It would not fit up the stairs !!!! The mattress would not bend or shift to fit under the ceiling part no matter how much the delivery men tried ( I am not blaming them in any) it was about 6" to low, they pushed and pulled and admitted that to get it up would involve breaking the springs. WHAT !! my wife cried.. yes they said " we have come across this loads of times, '5' mattresses do not give " Fortunately my wife refused to sign for the mattress and they took it away. She rang the store only to be fobbed off with the excuse that it was our fault for not telling them it would not fit - "How on Earth were we to know it would not bend, why didn't the sales person offer this advice in the first place when we were in discussion "? "Not our problem they said, we should have known it would not fit" (I will point out that we live in a basic ex local authority 3 bedroom house). I rang the store from work only to be fobbed again by the same thing, he offered me an alternative mattress - something softer that would bend a bit and go up the stairs- WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT ? WE WANTED A FIRM MATTRESS... the man told me to ring Customer Services. I had to leave work early and when I rang Customer Services was kept waiting 47 minutes - YES 47 - before getting through. They said it was still our fault because we should have known a firm ' strength 5' mattress would not bend in any way. I accused them of not being professional and advising me of this on the basis that it was their job advise me of this because the sales person was aware of our circumstances. When I asked where my mattress was they said it had gone back to the depot in Tewksbury... SO... we had no mattress at home to sleep on and our new one was miles away... " We will send you a softer one that will fit up your stairs they said ".. WHAT GOOD IS THAT ?.. " We will return the one you have purchased " WHAT GOOD IS THAT ? They insisted they would not refund but said I could cancel the order at a cost of a 20% cancellation fee and refund the difference. I will be refunded by Friday. Well at least that is something I thought. My refund is now a week overdue and we have been sleeping on the settee so watch this space because I can't wait to see what happens next...

Shop elsewhere! Don't make the same mistake I made. Horrible selection, even worse customer service. Said it would be over a month before they could deliver the mattress. Never emailed me follow up details. Their cancelation policy is absolutely ridiculous and charges 20% for any chances or cancelations made after 24 hours. I've never experienced customer service this bad. Buy your mattress online or go to another London retailer.

If l could give no points l would. Bed was damaged on delivery. Gloucester store didnt want to know. Customers services had 28 minute wait to answer call. When l rang back that had gone up to 31 minutes. Requested a call back....still waiting. Sent an email automated response 10 days. Trading Standards next. Please AVOID using this company!!
