In January Carpetright fitted a cushion floor in our bathroom. In August we noticed marks appearing, which subsequently got worse. We notified the company, and supplied photos. The fitter inspected the floor and mentioned he had seen the problem before and that floor had been replaced. Our experience with Carpetright is that the manufacturer and Carpetright have denied all responsibility, and have adamentently refused to do anything to rectify the matter. We are, as a twenty year longstanding customer, very disappointed with this outcome and will never purchase anything again from them.

The worst experience I have ever had in retail, I ended up with an extra roll of "heat flow" underlay value €198, when i tried to return it to the Drogheda branch I was offered €72, later to be upped to €98 by an area Manager, Rip off company

An appalling company. Unprofessional and incompetent. On my first visit a staff member was swearing loudly. I was then chaired incorrectly for a carpet . Store refused to accept any responsibility. Customer services don't exist. Do not answer phone calls or emails. Do not use this company. Terrible. Am reporting then to Trading Standards

The fitting was awful leaving big wrinkles down the middle of the room. We booked two appointments in the next two weeks to have someone correct the problem, but nobody arrjved both times! Head office have no interest and just refer you back to the store. The store don't care and just keep offering another visit, with no guarantee that anyone will ever show up. Don't be tempted by the flashy advertising and big sales. If something goes wrong they do not want to help you.

I ordered kitchen floor covering from the Kidderminster shop. When they came to fit it we discovered there had been a leak under the old covering so we had to wait for the floor to dry. I telephoned the shop and booked a fitting date 10 days ahead. When , on the morning of that date, I had had no contact from the fitter , I phoned the shop. I spoke to John who said he would contact the fitter and phone me back. No call came. At 2.40pm after trying numerous times and getting an answerphone I managed to get through to John again. He just said hello and then passed the phone to the manager, Christopher, without telling me what he was doing. Christopher then accused me of shouting at him, oh dear poor lamb. I was not shouting I was talking emphatically to get my point over. He said the fitter wouldn't be there on that day as he needed notice. I told him I had booked it in with a woman in the store 10 days earlier. He said it was not in the diary and they would come in 6 days. In the meantime the vinyl is stuck in my conservatory where I need wheelchair access. He refused to apologize and just said that the woman wasn't in the shop. I suggest that both John and Christopher go on some PR training asap. It is not my fault that the woman did not record this in the diary. I have complained to Carpet right head office but they were US.I have used carpet right for 15 years. I will never ,never use them again. I frequently give them order worth circa £1000 and they treat you like a bad smell. They have made a mistake and they need to rectify it.

Gravesend store: Carpet discounted on the shop floor but not at the till. Was actually shown the carpet by sales assist and as it had just come on in the sale and was a great price which it was! Realised my mistake far too late and long after carpet had been paid for. I bought two others which were discounted so the error didn't jump out at me. Complained to store and was essentially told it was my fault and that I must have been confused at the time...Was actually made to feel I was an idiot who imagined conversations and discounted carpets. Also the store didn't answer my emails about the pricing error and when I asked the manager why he shrugged and said he didn't know. Don't give this company your hard earned money. Appalling customer service.

I need to purchase vinyl flooring for kitchen, utility and dining room, they were very helpful in letting me browse without interrupting, the gentleman who measured was thorough, and the store helpful in offering to hold the price on offer with a deposit, the fitters were prompt and very helpful, and the quality of the fitting of an awkwardly shaped kitchen very very good, on returning to the store to pay the bill, the price was further discounted due to an additional offer price being in place. What can I say, I would definitely use this company again and again.

I feel ripped off Vinyl tiles fitted in 5 hrs good job but so badly priced for the fitting . I agreed to £10 .oo per square foot but then told l needed ply on my floor before they could be fitted at an additional cost of £170.00 I complained and got a reduction to £85.00 but was assured it would take all day to fit a rectangular conservatory no cutting or difficult fitting So cost £71.50 an hour expenses glue ,plywood and screws wish l could earn this an hour won't be using them again

Poorly trained salesperson in Lakeside store. Gave terrible advice - consequently bought a carpet which was not fit for purpose. On day of fitting, very accommodating fitter took me to another carpet shop and I bought the correct type of carpet. Carpetright (what a misnomer!) did not accept any liability for this and I was offered no refund. Going to Carpetright was an expensive mistake - it's all about money, they are not interested in offering any kind of customer service - quite shocking!

This review is regarding my experience with the Abingdon store. How on earth anyone could accept notification 30 minutes prior to the booked carpet fitting time that the fitter can no longer fit the carpet today is acceptable customer service is beyond me. I have taken the morning off work to allow such fitting and as such I am left out of pocket at their expense. Their head office have refused to compensate me for their error and as such we are now without flooring for a further 3 days until they can fit us into their schedule. If we hadn't already ripped up our flooring at their pre-fitting request, we would most certainly be cancelling our order with them. We will not be using them again, nor recommending them to any of our friends or family. Absolutely terrible customer service from both their assistant manager and head office. Avoid unless you're happy to be let down last minute.

Ordered landing and stair carpet from Swindon branch on the 28th Sept. Given a fitting date on the 25th Oct which was a long wait to receive the carpet. Being self employed and having to take a day off work is expensive and annoying when a phone call in the morning informed me that the carpet was damaged and could not be fitted. A new date was confirmed for the 4th Nov which was the earliest it could be fitted. Only for today another phone call informing me it would not take place again as the fitter is ill. Very annoyed. Given another date. What makes it worse Carpetright have not even replied to any of my emails sent to them. Can't wait for carpet as the grippers do hurt because Carpetright ask for old carpet to be removed before fitting.

Ordered carpet for our living room, hall, stairs, landing and bedroom after a visit from a very professional salesman. This order was placed with the Norwich Sweet Briar branch Then the problems began.... Initially given a installation date 2 weeks later which I accepted and duly booked the day off (rearranging clients etc. so I could get the day off) Carpetright rang the night before to cancel as the carpet hadn't arrived in the country from Belgium. After much discussion, involving promised phone calls that never happened, and different versions of the story from different staff members I arranged installation for the following week (today) only for the fitters to turn up, roll out the carpet and show me a fault in it! I'm now on my 3rd proposed installation date and still no idea if will finally get the carpet next week. The customer service is awful, the staff mouth all the usual platitudes but couldn't actually care less. They told me that they actually have stock in the UK for the carpet I'm waiting for but cant get me any any sooner as "it doesn't work that way" ALL THE PROMISES UNDER THE SUN BUT THEY DONT DELIVER. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

I dealt with the Oxford branch. The person who visited me for the consultation and measurement was a good professional, polite and very nice. He gave good suggestions. Then I had to go to the shop where I selected the carpet but discovered that it would be possible to fit the carpet only in two weeks' time. Those two weeks passed yesterday when a team of four men came, removed the old carpets, and started fitting. These gentlemen left my newly painted walls all destroyed, despite the fact that I had warned them to be careful and I was also around all the time. They did not have any training in this field and behaved as if they were doing this job for the *first* time! They forgot some parts that I ordered (linings by the door) and did not even apologise for that. They fitted the old ones back, until I insisted that they would need to bring new ones the next day (hope that happens today!). They fitted the carpet on the stairs very poorly, with huge bumps here and there, and refused to acknowledge that. Finally, they asked me if they could leave black bags full of my old carpet outside my house, to be picked up by them in the next few days. I said: 'no'! Overall, my biggest problem is that the walls are scratched and need repainting (they were painted only three weeks ago). I would like to discourage all customers from using the Oxford shop and their contractors. I finally spoke with the manager Paul Carvell today who told me that all of those issues need to be resolved with the fitting team. Moreover, when I asked him how I can leave a review for the product on the carpetright web-site, he had no idea how a customer can leave a review. Neither the customer service people (Paul Mcsee in the central office) have any idea how reviews on the carpetright website are submitted... this is all rather surprising to me and I would definitely not recommend this store.

Bought a bed from carpetright New Malden. This bed is very hard compared to the one that we tried in the store. I Asked the manager if there could be a problem with it and he said that he would call the company that made it and then he would get back to me to let me know what can be done about it.I have phoned every other day for the last two weeks because he has not done what he said he would do. He promises to phone me back but never does. My husband and I have a bed that we can't sleep on because it gives us both pain. I've even asked to swap it with the showroom model just so we can have a decent nights sleep! THIS IS NOTHING LIKE THE SHOWROOM BED THAT WE TRIED OUT IN STORE.

Extremely disappointed, fitted the incorrect underlay, failed to honour a fitting date to replace the underlay with the correct underlay due to sickness! Had to arrange my own fitting of the underlay. Extremely disappointed. Not very helpful

Had carpet that wasn't laid properly the guy complained we hadn't paid enough for the fitting! Recently we had a screed laid before the Lino was installed two months down the line the screed has crumbled it seems all we have done is wait for these people to put this right, communication and missed appointments time wasters! Customer service zero!
