BEWARE: Easirent is a fraudulent company BEWARE: This company is a rip-off. They do not respect the prepaid vouchers. I had to pay again for what was already prepaid through the intermediary (e.g. one-way drop off, cross border fee and unlimited mileage). Moreover, their cars are full of dents and scratches. Then they charge your credit card for them... I'm really disgusted by their fraudulent behaviour. SHAME ON YOU #Easirent

I wish I had read Easirent's reviews prior to my very cheap car hire booking, lesson learned. Apart from the portable building office and building site car park, off site from the airport, my booking had to be cancelled through no fault of my own (essentially the staff weren't using the card machine properly and they couldn't process the pre-authorisation). I was told repetedly that it was "my problem". I declined to pay an additional 200 odd to reduce the excess (and complete the booking) as this was 7 times more expensive than the car hire cost. They will not refund 20 odd, it's peanuts I know but it's the principle. They will not listen, they will not see any other side but their own, however incorrect they are. They told me I had insufficient funds, which was incorrect and they told me I had exceeded my credit limit, which was also incorrect. I was able to hire a car from a more professional company the same day using the same credit card, but Easirent still maintains the card issue was "my problem". I am still waiting for my partial refund 7 weeks later and am still disputing not getting a full refund. Book a hire car with Easirent if: - you would like terrible customer service; - you want to feel like you're going to get mugged at their "depot"; - you don't mind being told repetedly "it's your problem" when you know it's their error; - you don't mind having your booking cancelled because they can't process a pre-authorisation; and - ...just don't waste your time and energy on these unsophisticated scammers.

Truly awful customer service. AVOID - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Our booked car was given away and we were held hostage and they demanded we pay double for a bigger car (which also had a slow puncture) we didn't need then tried to charge 3 days rent to cancel the hire - when they couldn't fulfil their obligations. They have a 2 hour limit to hold the car after which they have you over a barrel (we phoned twice to let them know our flight time which was acknowledged without question). Disgusting cow boys preying on people at a time when they know they have no other option.

BEWARE - please read before booking I booked a vehicle through this company and they hired my car out and tried to extract more money from me because I was delayed. I have been in touch with trading standards - there are 100s of reviews of a similar nature - trading standards need someone to raise it as a complaint. My booking is through a different company so I cannot proceed with a complaint against easirent but over 3 weeks later I am still trying to get a refund. I contacted easirent twice to advise about the delay and was told no problem!

I hired a people carrier through Ryanair from Belfast International Airport on 30th May 2019 with Ryanair Supplier Easirent Easirent did not have the Vauxhall Sharon I paid Ryanair £220.93 for and no other vehicle to carry 6 passengers. We asked for 2 smaller vehicles but were told nothing was available due to the bank holiday in Ireland. After asking at all the car hire desks we then had to hire 2 of the smallest vehicles available at the airport from Budget Hire at a cost of £184.46 and £184.42 total £368.88. It occurred on: 30/05/2019 and copy of receipts supplied to Ryanair This meant that I have therefore payed £368.88 on top of the contract payment of £220.93 due to no fault on my side and expect this payment returned, not to mention the stress and inconvenience caused. It is now nearly 3 months and countless e-mails later with no sign of a refund.

This company totally fleeced me! They took £109 for the car hire plus £43.60 for insurance. When I arrive to collect the car the price had jumped a further £180 for the hire to £289. I also paid an additional £43.60 for insurance (that they would also not refund). I cancelled the agreement as it was too expensive and no refund was given whatsoever. They just refer to terms and conditions and the box I ticked that disclaimed them form everything. They would not even refund a little as gratuity gesture. When you want to complain you have to phone a number in Castillion in Spain and it takes forever to speak to an agent that wasn't interested in helping at all. I got fleeced by this company to the tune of £152.60 and they didn't give a damn!

AVOID! SCAMMERS, CROOKS, AND CRIMINALS! Never in my life have I had a car hire experience as bad as this. These people are cowboys and will screw you over. It is not worth the saved money as you'll end up paying way more. I have reported them to the authorities and also filed a claim in the courts to recuperate stolen money. These people should be ashamed to work at a company like this and Easirent should be shutdown.

Absolutely appalling customer service when I recently used this company. We booked a VW campervan for 10 days, which was fairly expensive, especially taking into account extra payments for reduced excess etc (which we thankfully paid up front). The initial handover was reasonable, going through how things work etc. The agent demonstrating the roof managed to buckle it on the left when putting it down, catching the material in the frame, and completely left this off the paperwork. When the roof was put up on the first night we noticed see through tape over holes in the material on either side, which also were not pointed out initially. Unfortunately on day 2 we awoke to find a flat rear tyre. This was after motorway and A road driving, not going over significant potholes, speed bumps or similar road furniture. We looked at the spare which was also flat. We acknowledge that the rear flat happened when we were driving the vehicle, we were told by a tyre shop there was a crack in the alloy (but there was no way to tell the defect in the alloy wasn’t already there when we set off as it was inside the rim) but the flat spare clearly didn’t. We were also told by two tyre shops (to confirm the report from the first) that the tyres should be ‘commercial’ tyres with higher ply to accommodate the additional weight of the vehicle. Two tyres were apparently standard car tyres. When phoning Easirent there was no apology or suggestion, they simply stated we weren’t covered for punctures. They informed us it didn’t need commercial tyres against the advice of the tyre shop. Fair enough, I’m not an expert and simply following advice, but all that doesn’t excuse the lack of a usable spare tyre. Thankfully we used our AA cover to get back on the road. On the second day we noted water had entered the upper sleeping compartment, after a night of light rain. The pop top was up correctly. After the third night, with heavier rain (but no worse than I’ve had in tents over the years and remained dry) the left side of the upper sleeping compartment was soaked, with water leaking into the kitchen cupboard. When we took the van back to Easirent it was raining, so the company put the roof up, with the vehicle parked next to the building, left it for a short period then phoned us stating there was no problem. On the 5 day of the holiday, a tyre warning light came on on the right rear side so we decided not to venture further in a vehicle we had little faith in and returned home early. After combined 35+ years of driving my wife and I haven’t had such issues with a vehicle. We returned the van to Easirent to be told all the issues had happened when we had the vehicle, and nothing to do with them. They offered no apology, not even for the lack of a usable spare tyre and clearly leaking roof/canvas. We were told we should of checked these things before accepting the vehicle (I’ll ensure to climb under vehicles in the future to check spare tyre pressures). As mentioned above the pop top was left up for a short period to conclude there is ‘no problem’. We were charged additional money to cover the excess for the alloy wheel making the whole experience not just poor but also extremely expensive. I only hope that even though they have not acknowledged any of the issues Easirent privately look into some of the failings of this vehicle and service before they rent this vehicle out to other consumers. We will not be using this company again.

Shower of scammers. The price you see online is just to reel you in to make initial deposit. When you go to pick up car you end up being told you need to pay a huge credit card deposit (£1200 in my case) for a Ford Focus for two days. Plus a fuel deposit (£95). I asked for a refund of the £70 i’d already paid and was told no as I have to cancel 30 mins before the rental was due to begin. AVOID this (so called) company like the plague and go to a reputable car hire company like Enterprise or Europcar. I’m £70 out of pocket but after hearing and reading of all the other reviews of this place then it was a small price to pay as they charge you for scratches and all kinds on return of car that were already there (but not logged) and as they have your deposit they just take it. We booked a car in Glasgow. Watch out all tires-allow wheels- SCAM!!!!!!!! They charged us 100£ per tyre plus 75 admin fee for presumably a scratching them. We got the car dirty as it’s in a field and there was heavy rain so tyres were not totally clean to be inspected. It seems 2 invisible Marks were there and we paid the BILL. Totally rude staff on top! We are doing a formal claim

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Easirent Belfast office are crooks and scammers. They invented fictitious damage to steal my security deposit and threatened me physically. The savings from this “low cost” provider are not worth it. Read the other reviews - this company is criminal.p

I'm having trouble finding words to describe these cowboys. We booked a car from them through holidaycars.com(another cowboy company) about 3 weeks before our trip. Because the deposit was in the extortionate amount of over £1800 and needed to be paid via a credit card, i decided to put it in my partner's name about a week before the trip. Got an email back saying they won't be able to change the name, no explanation given. We arrived at easihire's depot in birmingham on the day we needed the car where the guy at the reception was not helpful at all and he didn't seemed to bothered either. We tried to pay the deposit with my partner's card, we were both present. Easirent wouldn't accept it because my name was not on the card. So what difference does it make who pays the deposit as long as its paid and the person paying it is present? We were given the option to pay an extra £180, which was more than the price of the car rental or lose the money. We decided not to pay them an extra penny and raise a dispute through the bank as we though we've been scammed. Nowhere on the booking does it say you have to show 2 forms of proof of address, luckily all our bills come via email so we were able to produce them but if you dont have that, you're screwed, you will have no choice but to lose the money or pay them extra as cancellation refunds are not issued unless you cancel before 48 hrs of your car collection. When we read their bad reviews we were worried we might fall for their scam but the low price determined us to take the chance. Little did we know how sorry we were going to be for choosing these con artists. Stay away from easirent and holidaycars.com. the price you see online is not what you will be paying, read all their reviews.

Misnomer ..Easirent !The worst experience we have ever had with a car hire company .Dreadful .Will never book with this company again.Arrived at the airport at 8 a.m..Rang the Easirent rental company and told 10 mins wait at airport for rental bus ,waited 40 mins .Then waited in reception for 40 mins to collect our car .It was not what we ordered or paid for .Eventually we got a car not to our satisfaction but it was after 10 a.m. and we had a 2 and a half hour journey ahead of us.If we had wanted a small car we would have booked one .We needed one with a good size boot .Incompetent staff .Warning to all . Do not book with the company .

ZERO STARS - by far the worst car rental experience I've ever had. Waited for over an hour for the Orlando airport collection shuttle to arrive; they did not have the SUV I had booked and gave me a car I didn't want; the car was dirty and only 1/4 full; all four tyres were below the required tyre pressure; the inspection report which I signed in the rain at 23h00 indicated no scratches, etc. which turned out not to be the case when I looked at the car in the light of (next) day; there was a real hard sell on a toll fee for the rental period amounting to over $200 which I had to decline several times; my prepaid rental agreement which was concluded with EasyRentalCars, a third party online broker, included zero excess and Easirent refused to honour this and insisted that I take excess insurance through them or accept an $1800 excess liability which I reluctantly was forced to do. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Never again!!!

DO NOT USE - DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE. We booked online through the easirent website, paid the "super relax" insurance meaning we didn't need to pay a deposit and didn't require a credit card. We arrived at the airport and waited 40 minutes for the shuttle bus to arrive. When it finally arrived it took us to a hotel and then back to the airport before finally arriving at the depot. it would be quicker to walk. we then were told we had to pay another 80 euros for "more" insurance. Apparently the wheels aren't insured under the super relax cover. After 1 hour of driving the car we got an error on the dashboard saying we had a problem with a tyre. I checked the pressure at a f garage and one tyre was very low. filled it and drove another 30 minutes before the warning came on again. I checked the pressure again and it was low. this was when I noticed a hole in the tire that had been filled with some sealant. Not a problem, I can change it with the spare in the boot, no spare in the boot just an empty "tyre sealant bottle". it was Sunday afternoon and no garages were open. I called the easirent breakdown number to be told that I should take the car to the garage and they will reimburse me if I take a receipt. I explained it is Sunday and nowhere is open. she didn't care and said I will have to do it tomorrow. we are 2 hours away from our hotel, clearly not safe to drive and not a good first impression of Ireland. luckily the nice lady at the Texaco garage called a mechanic for use and after 1 hour he arrived. we had to follow him back to his work but he fixed it (better impression of Ireland, thank you Paul). He wrote on our receipt that the tyre was unsafe and the car should NOT have been given to us and also pointed out that all 4 tyres were almost illegal. They over charge and give you cars that could be extremely dangerous. PLEASE AVOID. we still have 3 more days left and only god knows if the car will make it without breaking again. can't wait to see what they say about this and also what they try and charge us for some fictitional damage we have caused. I have made an official complaint and surprise surprise we have had no response for over 1 week. I will be taking this further and leaving a review on every website possible. Your cars are dangerous and could have caused a serious accident. Waiting almost 14.days for a refund on the tyre we has to replace. Absolute cowboys

I felt compelled to write this review after years of such good experiences with Easirent. Unfortunately, the incident at their Stansted branch has undone years of happy rentals and good relationships with staff, especially at the Leeds Airport branch, and I feel that I can no longer trust my business and future custom with the company. I hired a car for 2 weeks (my 5th rental of the year) and when I collected the car, all seemed normal and similar to previous experiences. The car however, wasn't in great condition. There had been previous damage to the bumper, the offside wheel arch and damage spots towards the back of the car. I pointed all of this out to the member of staff prior to the rental commencing, and it was noted on the condition report. Upon the return of the vehicle, another member of staff checked the car and identified me to a small scratch on the bumper and told me that there would be a £245 charge. I thought he was joking as there was already a large existing patch of damage to the bumper that existed when I collected the vehicle, and this is what prompted me at the time to notify Easirent. As a customer, not akin to the policies of a company, when you notify them of 'damage to a bumper' especially when the aforementioned damage is extensive and blatant, you expect them to mark the bumper as damaged. That's what I signed for. However, what I was signing for was the position of the damage on the bumper, and in effect, the length of the drawn line on the diagram, not the evident fact that the bumper was in terrible condition. This is indicated by a line on the report which I thought (and was not explained to me) meant that the bumper has 'damage' The scratch that the member of staff pointed out to me was smaller, and a foot or so along from the part of the bumper that had multiple scratches on it. According to Easirent on this occasion, simply mentioning that the bumper has multiple scratches wasn't suffice, I should have indicated every position on the bumper that had a scratch and had it drawn on the diagram. The damage I was accused of doing existed before. I saw it with my own eyes, and clearly made it clear that the bumper was in bad condition. But my focus was on the large area of damage, naturally! 1 - why was the car rented to me with large scratches and dents without prior being fixed? 2 - If a bumper is badly damaged and I tell you about this prior to renting, do you think it's fair to then pick out another scratch on the bumper and accuse me, and subsequently charge me for this damage as a different incident? 3 - How is a customer supposed to know that a long line on a diagram indicates a specific scratch OR a large collection of scratches? Especially on a bumper? I took photos of the car prior to renting, but the scratch is so small, it doesn't show, but, the large patch of damage to the bumper does. If there were 50 tiny scratches all over the car, and it was the renters duty to have all of these indicated on a diagram, then the diagrams used are not fit for purpose. I don't expect my 5 years of loyalty to be recognised by Easirent, neither do I expect them to pay for damage that I create if I have an accident. However, what I do expect is a little bit of common sense and empathy. I expected them to look at the condition report and realise that I had indeed reported the damage to the bumper, not try and pull it completely apart and find scratches that don't fall exactly in line to where they are drawn. This sets a very dangerous precedent and I will be taking this matter further after seeking advice.

It has taken me a while because quite frankly the whole experience was traumatic and I've tried to put it out of my mind. In the hope that someone has a chance to save their trauma I'll jot down my experience. I had pre booked and pre paid and all was supposedly sorted. My car was booked to pick up at 10 am, I arrived early 8.15 and was prepared to wait till the time I had booked, no complaint there. Unfortunately this wait allowed me to see lots of angry customers, passive aggressive staff and long lines of frustrated people being told that their cars were not ready, unavailable or told to wait. I was seated with a few others into a waiting room and then finally an hour later another customer told us that we should move to another room as no one was attending us. We all moved and were seen immediately and told that "it wasn't our fault the front desk told us to wait in the other room". Then the switch and bait began, trying to up the insurance, up the car and paying for petrol that was over priced. I actually told the sharp talking man that I just wanted the car I'd booked and that he was confusing me and I did not appreciate it. He got the message and backed right off. Then the car arrived and had no petrol in it, it was filthy and I was asked "if I minded to go fill it up myself". I flatly refused and they went and filled it before I drove off. It was after our departure that my family member stumbled across this review site and I then began to stress for the rest of the holiday. Of course, on return, they went straight to the back rim and found a "scratch" that I know I did not put on the rim, the rim was filthy on top so it could not have been from me................. Knowing this was the deal with these guys I just paid the money for rim, plus and "admin" fee and went on my way. The staff and creeps, the admin staff are disgusting the way they speak about their female staff and the big sign out the front that says "we will give you 5 pound to write a good review" should say it all! By the way I finally drove out of the "dodgy rent" car lot at 1 pm, but strangely I felt grateful as I had seen many turned away or waiting for cars that just were not available & hearing the switch and bait admin trying to smart talk out of giving cars people had pre booked and expected. Honestly, part of me thinks British tourism should be made aware of this company, it's a terrible start to a family holiday. Do not hire from these people if you have high blood pressure, anxiety or if you want a peaceful holiday.
