“A week ago I sent a document by first class recorded delivery and was under the illusion that Royal Mail would delivery it.I was wrong. Should the Royal Mail lose letters etc they treat it as a game, they send you round in circles then back to the start, so if you send important mail I advise you to use any other method of delivery other than "good old" Royal Mail.”
“I had to pay VAT £6.30 and handling fee £8.00 for the Mother's Day present from my son who lives in New Zealand even when on the package clearly says that value is 60 NZ dollars which is less than 39 pounds very disappointing and sad for me and my son😢”
“Appalling customer service - sent three emails over the past three weeks with no response. Two phone calls and holding for at least 40 minutes each time. I am just trying to get a parcel returned to sender so I can get a refund from the shop I bought it from yet it has been sat in a depot for a month now. They won’t let me collect it because there was an error in the postcode but a simple request to return to sender has still not happened. Never received such terrible service!”
“The Royal Mail is a national embarrassment. I bought a couple of items from Ebay recently, one of which was pretty urgent. Both items were being delivered by the Royal Mail tracked service. So .... neither of them have shown up over a week down the line. I looked at the tracking service and it said that the postman tried to deliver but that it was refused at the door?! They didn't come to the house with the parcel!! That meant it was supposed to be returned to the original vendor. So I complained to Ebay and the vendor refunded me. On the same day, I got an email to say that the parcel had been successfully delivered. I was sitting in my house at the time and nothing had been delivered! As a company, its staff, procedures, and technology are all over the place. I used the tracking service this morning to see where the 2nd parcel was. I entered the tracking number and the tracking service simply came up with a standard message saying "this service cannot track your parcel at this time. Please try later". Laughably poor service. I won't use this shower again.”
“Absolutley useless the gates were locked but there was big sign saying royal mail please come in but quit clearly he/she couldnt be bothered getting of there backside and looking, they say it is in retention when it isnt because we went to our local royal mail and checked but try and aviod them if you can they are garbage”
“Absolutly useless dont deliver it when expected gates were locked and it had a since saying it is open but quit clearly could be bothered getting out of the van absolutely garbage”
“Would give them zero if possible.
Lost my item. On phone for hours to get no response.
Avoid at all costs.
Don't provide a service that you can't provide and help when needed.”
“I’m currently wondering if Royal Mail has been taken over by UPS as the service I’ve experienced today has been equal to theirs in awfulness. After waiting for 40 minutes to speak to customer service to find out where my daughter’s item was, which she had been notified would be delivered by our postman today. I explained that the postman had been and gone, and no item delivery had occurred. I was told that it would definitely come today, but would be delivered by a different van, up until 7pm. Unsurprisingly there was no different van, and no item delivery. I expect the sender paid extra for a fast service - what a waste of their money and my time. Things used to be so much better when it was possible to contact the local depot directly and speak to someone who knew what they were talking about.”
“Royal mail should be exposed. It has been bad since last year. Ì have lost at least 35 parcels to Royal Mail in the last four months. I don't know what they do with them all. Either there is lot of incompetent staff or staff working with very limited resources. I don't think they even try to and blame this one on Brexit. Close attention should be paid to what is happening at Royalmail, there is lot wrong that is yet to be exposed.”
“From my experience all I can say is that they are a bunch of thieves, and I am disgusted by the way you can’t even get a little bit of help or even have any way of being able to get the problem solved.”
“I posted an item sold on ebay on 1/2/19. I was advised by buyer on 21/2/19 that item had not arrived. I refunded in full. I then handed in completed claim form with all relevant information including proof of posting at my local post office. After allowing the 30 days required still no refund from Royal Mail. I phoned customer services and after waiting on the line for 45 minutes was connected to a call handler. She could find no claim form and advised me to send in another. As I had not made a copy of the proof of posting they could not offer any compensation. So not only did they lose the original parcel they also lost the claim form!!. The call handler then offered a book of 6 1st class stamps as a goodwill gesture. Utter rubbish service”
“I am from the states and for my birthday my mom thought it would be nice to order me flowers, since I could not go home. Well it has turned out to be impossible to get them. They were sent while my partner and I were both at work. Then to collect them they left them at a Royal Mail office that’s a bus ride away when we have a Royal Mail office only a block from our house. On top of this it is only open 3-5 hours a day right when I have to be at work. My partner has been trying to catch them but hours were different on the weekend. Which left him with the card and not me.
Now when I went to pick up the flowers today they wouldn’t let me get them. Despite having my full address and ID with me. They wouldn’t realease them, I said this was my birthday gift and they have been stuck here for 6 days and I just want to know if they’re at least dead so I can tell my mother, he took them out to let me look through the hole in the box at them (which they are basically dead) saying “they’re is still some color in them left at least” Then set them down and said we can try to have them redelivered tomorrow but that’s it. So frustrating because I can not wait around another day off work for flowers when I have already taken today off, even if I was to go get the slip from my partner at his work they would have been closed by the time I went back.
My partner and I work full time and can’t just be waiting around for them tomorrow. They will be extremely dead by the weekend when we can actually get them, wasting my mother’s money and heartfelt gift for my birthday.”
“What on earth has happened to their service? I was waiting to receive a parcel which (along with most of my mail lately) went to a different block of flats altogether. The neighbour who accepted it then left it in the foyer. Eventually, three weeks later I got my parcel back. I couldn't access the complaints procedure without a reference number which was on the parcel! I have lost a lot of mail recently and it's wrong.”
“Royal Mail redelivery terrible.I use a wheelchair, work and can't drive I live in a bock of flats. Please make it easier to leave the parcel in a safe place eg inside the building flats or ask again if I want it left with a neighbour.Automated call too long and after several attempts a little annoying.Employ more staff to anwer your call.Going on line not much help either”
“I sent a parcel on 16th March 2019 with the reference number GQ803759636GB content with 4 pieces of jewellery and I sent them without any insurance because it was VERY EXPENSIVE. The packet was delivered and there was a whole and someone took a pendant out which is a shame. The person who stole will LOSE A LOT MORE.”
“The depot at Waltham Cross gave my parcel out to an unknown individual after supposedly checking ID and this individual apparently had the red ‘we missed you’ card. They admitted fault on the phone and then sent me a letter confirming my parcel was picked up with correct ID - absolutely disgusting service and I’m unable to get compensation.”
“A parcel was sent to me on 13/03/2019. On Saturday 16/03/2019 it arrived at Ferndale DO, in Wales. The tracking site informed me that it will be re-routedasp. Today, 20/03/2019 the tracking site carries the same message. I tried to phone for more information and got a machine telling me precisely the same information.
It seems impossible to speak to anyone! You can email but expect to wait 3-4 days for a response! DPD and other competitors seem to be far better with a real focus on customer satisfaction! The chat service is non-existent!”
