Purchased two reclining swivel chairs from scs at a cost of £1400, waited almost nine months for deliery, one chair has developed a fault in the gas lift strut and sinks to its lowest position when anyone sits on the chair. I paid '£60 for technition to come and check the fault, he said it was a manufacturing defect. A further phone call from scs informed me that despite the ten year guartantee, they no longer stocked this line and would not repair it, they did offer a credit note in lieu but I will not buy anything else from this store. Still negotiating but not hopeful

Took delivery of our first suite in Oct 2018 recliners kept breaking engineer called out and fixed one of the recliners 6 weeks later another engineer called out this was on March 2019 took till august 2019 to get scs to agree to replace suite took this opportunity to upgrade suite hoping to avoid any more problems new suite ordered and arrived end Nov 2019 March 2020 leather peeling of suite because of lockdown had to wait on shop reopening to get them to contact customer services Oct 2020 engineer comes out the finish is peeling off the whole suite and will need recovered phone customer services weekly for update waste of time nobody can give an answer so £5700 and 2 years later still not got a serviceable suite DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY is the only advise I can offer to anybody

Worst experience, ordered dining table ,got late delivery after a month in November, product was broken ,replaced 3 weeks later ,again broken ,even worse than before and now no news of when will we receive our product, hopefuly will cancel our order. Worst company ever.

Terrible. Cancelled our fitting without telling us so we had pulled up our carpets. Long story short, delay of 4 months predicted so cancelled order. Out of pocket by over £150 as our perfectly good underlay has become damaged after 3 months of no carpets. They wouldn't even consider replacing the items damaged due to their incompetence. Terrible customer service.

Purchased a Endurance sofa .delivered on time no issues .seven months later metal rods have burst through seat cushions reported it waited 6 weeks for someone to come out and stick caps on ends of rods and order new seat covers . Still rods picking through though 2 months later new seat covers fitted complained about rods told nothing they can do but cap them off raised another complaint another engineer decides to remove a rod from one seat that has now sagged but other seats still have rods picking out . Another phone call another engineer turns up says it’s wear and tear after 7 months . Almost 10 months from first complaint still waiting on another engineer company sent letter today to arrange appointments called them and was informed they were only coming to recap rods and replace seat covers so still will have rods picking through and a sagging seat . Absolute joke . Called customer services from SCS waste of time don’t care said they will email warranty company again . At no point have SCS been in contact with me to keep me updated only contact is from me . If I had took it on hire purchase I would have stopped payment but I paid outright for sofa so they don’t seem to care . I will never buy from SCS again nor would I advise anyone to do the same . Purchased the Endurance sofa as was advised by salesman that it was very hard wearing and had a 20 year build guarantee didn’t even last the year . Even the engineers have agreed it’s a poor build .

Complete liars!! Ordered all my carpets was told there would be no extra cost on delivery that all grippers and plates included then to be charged £75 by carpet fitter. I went to store and double checked this to be told again they were included. Called to speak to manger was not interested in the slightest, rude and unhelpful! Would recommend not using this company

Had the most stressful and prolonged experience with SCS! They lie to your face when trying to get to a resolution and then not once have they called me to keep me updated. Wrong carpets fitted and took three visits to the store to eventually get the problem resolved 6 weeks later. The carpets have been fitted poorly and quickly. Customer service is shocking and when I requested compensation for such poor service they offered a minute ammount and two months later I am still trying to contact them to get my money! Don't go there.

Will never use again. Bought a carpet on 9 months interest free, never turned up to fit, when I rung them I was told they left a voicemail to say carpet was out of stock till after Xmas leaving me with and empty bedroom and furniture everywhere! 9 months later I'm getting chased by the finance company because SCS didn't sent an email letting them know. Edit.. Due to your inactivity I've now had my overdraft reduced and credit card limit reduced. What a bunch of cowboys

Tried to give 0 stars but can't write a comment if I do. Paid £875.00 for hall, 2 flights of stairs and landing. Waited 6 weeks for fitting. Call received the jight before to co firm fitter is coming and to ensure we have removed old carpet ready for fitting. On the day fitter called to say we are PM. When he realised he had 2 floors to do suddenly would not have had Time and tried to make excuses not to come. All day on phone to SCS to sort with nothing done. Call yesterday to say fitter will be with us today at 9.30. Not arrived again. Apparently has a busy schedule today. I have children and elderly mother in law here. My daughter got her slipper caught on the grippers and fell down 3 steps. Absolute shambles. Customer services appalling. Avoid!!!

Ordered and paid up front for a stair and landing carpet. They managed to bring the wrong colour TWICE. Complained, got ignored completely, in fact, they still haven't responded to me and this is 3 months. Finally got my money back today, but still no contact or explanation for the cold shoulder. Customer service is shocking, how they are still in business is beyond me!!

Useless. Carpet was fitted incorrectly. The "premium" door bars we ordered and paid for were not used, one door bar was missed. The fitters scarpered before we were able to look at their work and raise these issues. Multiple phone calls to customer service have produced nothing other than empty promises.

Would avoid at all cost , unbelievable customer service, over 40 emails and calls. Corner unit split awaiting pick up . On there terms and will not refund till it back also takes five to ten days for refund. The quality is very poor awful service I would take your money to a different company .would not recommend on any level

My experience of SCS is without double the worst retail experience I have ever encountered. Ordered 2 leather sofas in July which we were told could be with us the end of August. At that point we requested delivery for the first week in November to coincide with the redecoration of our living room. Since late October, our delivery has been put back 3 times now and is becoming more and more vague as to when we will receive them despite being paid for in full several weeks ago We also purchased a new carpet at the same time. The fitter came as arranged a fortnight ago to fit it and whilst doing so, discovered a 4 inch hole on the carpet. ScS are giving us no indication of when the replacement will arrive - all they can tell us it will be into the New Year So now after spending £2500 with SCS, we are sitting with a carpet with a big hole in it and no idea when we are likely to see our sofas On visiting the Edinburgh Straiton store on 2 occasions with a view to resolving these matters, I have had the misfortune of having to deal with their so called manager who I can only describe is the most incompetent individual I have ever come across who wouldn't know how to spell customer service, never mind deliver it. I can get a much more sensible conversation out my 9 year old daughter than I can in that place. Never again will I ever deal with SCS and would recommend everyone to take their business & hard earned cash anywhere but SCS unless you are happy to deal with a heap of grief, zero customer service and aren't bothered when you receive your goods.

We ordered a foot stool to match our three piece suite in June and paid in full at the time. The item was supposed to be delivered to store for us to collect (to avoid the ridiculous delivery fee) in August. By September we hadn't received any update so we contacted customer services. We were promised endless call backs that never came, we received an email to say it was in store only to arrive there to find that it hadn't been delivered to store at all, we were given two delivery dates on which we waited at home and the item didn't arrive, the staff in the store were rude and argumentative and in all I'd say we spent around 12 hours on the phone on numerous occasions trying to get the item we had paid for. We made two official complaints to SCS, both of which were ignored. To top it all, since ordering the foot stool two springs in the sofa have broken and ripped the fabric of the sofa. The staff, service and quality of the products has been very disappointing.

June 2020-Nov 2020.. Avoid this company PLEASE READ. Ordered 3 seater recliner and cuddle chair, delivery date was put back a month, when it did arrive furniture was broke on delivery, delivery drivers hid this by putting sofa up against the wall. Reported the issue the next day at the MIDDLESBROUGH STORE Trunk RD. received verbal abuse from sales and a great lack of professionalism. Reprted the issue to the aftercare team and how we were treated by the store. SCS sent 1st engeneer so We told the engineer we wanted the sofa replaced, for him to tell us No that wouldn't happen because of covid19. We then Asked to make furniture safe as children under 4years in the house, but we would not accept a repair because it was delivered to us broken. The engeneer reported back to SCS that he had fixed the sofa, and had ignored our request for a replacement. SCS emailed to say CASE CLOSED. We have the emails from SCS stating this, Had to phone and email daily for weeks turning into months. To request a 2nd engeneer to come out to check sofa, at the same time REQUEST OUR MONEY BACK. Becoming exhausted with the getting fobbed off, and quoting the Consumer Rights Act2015. ALL WHILE BEEN TOLD NOT TO SIT ON THE SOFA BECAUSE IT WAS DANGEROUS!! And them knowing we had CHILDREN UNDER 4yrs IN THE HOUSE. We told the aftercare team and the STORE MANAGER Verbally in person we would begin the process for court to get our money back the store shrugged it off saying that up to youes. A 2nd engineer eventually came to assess our furniture, He Confirmed the sofa and cuddle chair were broke due to MANUFACTURER which I recorded everything from his visit. He as confirmed the sofa had not been fixed to any standard the 1st engineer had put 2 screws in and split the fram wood in doing so ( i have the pictures still to confirm this) after his visit and more calls and emails to SCS, Their headoffice phoned. After 5 months finally offered a replacement sofa we refused and asked for full refund which was granted, then to our suprise. (Not) Days later the M/BROUGH STORE MANAGER phoned and said we were over the 30 DAYS agreement and refused to acknowledge the refund offer we were given.( From higher than him) We Had to phone the aftercare team again several times daily, as well as constant emails, hound them basically. Got refunded in November, but had to have a sofa SCS deemed Dangerous in the house with littlens for 6 months.

(June 2020-Nov 20.) SHOP HERE AT OWN RISK!!!!!! RECOMMEND READING BEFORE PURCHASE!!!!.. Bought 3 seater recliner and cuddle chair. Received a broken sofa on delivery, Abuse off Middlesbrough Trunk Rd sales staff when reporting the falt. 1st engineer came out asked him for a replacement sofa but asked it to be made safe as children under 4yrs in house. Engeneer Refused to report for a replacement, instead reported sofa had been fixed. When it hadn't. Phoned daily to aftercare team, as well as daily emails. (something I had no option but to do) Eventually have 2nd engineer inspect sofa and told dangerous, not to sit on it. Store manager told us the same not to sit on it. Continually asked for money back as we we refused a replacement. Had a call from head office offering money back Accepted, M/Brough STORE Manager phoned, refused to honour it as we had firniture over 30 days (but problem was reported 2 days after receiving sofa in june) left no option but to report verbally back that we would be issuing court proceedings to get money back, reported it also to aftercare (who were great and empathetic to situation) after phoning daily we eventually got dull refund!! Would DEFINITELY Would NOT ENTER THAT STORE AGAIN, WOULD AVOID SCS

A very bad company that lies no customer service at all the worst I have ever seen, their sofas and carpets are very poor quality that does not even last a week. Once ScS have your money your history you don't exist any more. My family had to take them to court we won all our money back from this awful company, I believe with all the bad negatives facebook complaint groups they will shut down.

Ordered mid July. Delivery Been put back twice. Still have had no contact from scs other than us going to store. Today is the final straw. Will be going to store today after I finish work to cancel. Would never recommend anyone to use this company. Only response you get from them is to put bad review on here

Ordered 2 x 2 seater sofas on finance (only paid £50 deposit, thankfully) in mid-August. Delivery date of 16/10/2020 came and went...no contact. I looked at the email I received with my order details and the phone number I gave was wrong. There were also additional charges such as some kind of cleaning solution and insurance. Called customer services and was told shortage of foam. Called every week since and last week I was told that it would be here 16/11/2020. The 4 week date in which I can cancel is tomorrow...how apt Friday the 13th. If I receive no call re delivery, I plan on visiting the store to cancel.
