Tree was nice for two years. Third year, would not light. Called Balsam after changing fuses etc. They said I could go to Home Depot and buy new lights and restring the tree! So, I spent over $600 (bought for half price) on a tree I could only use for two years. I’ll go to Home Depot alright and buy a new tree! Save your money and your sanity. Don’t buy from Balsam Hill.

bought 3 trees in total over the past 2 years. 1 had to be replaced, they would not take back the old one so i am stuck with getting rid of that one. Then this year neither tree will light up. Have tried all the "videos and cheat sheets to troubleshoot." nothing will work including changing he fuses. Such a big waste of money for getting only one year on the tree. I can go out and buy a real one for a lot less than this has cost. Don't waste your money on the prelit trees maybe the other ones are better at least you will get more than a year of use from them.

This tree is so small. My last tree was from Hobby Lobby and it had lots more branches and was so much wider! Does not look like the picture at all. And it’s kinds loose where the poles connect and makes me nervous. Also should have more lights for the price!

I ordered a tree, Garland and a wreath that were ordered to match. Balsam Hill sent the wrong wreath. Instead of making it right, they wanted to charge me with another wreath and shipping. When I asked about a refund they send me the return labels and an email with the cost of returning...$25 a box. The absolute worst experience buying online I have ever had.

So disappointed. Do not waste your money on these trees. You can purchase a more realistic looking tree at your local Walmart store. I tried to find reviews of the Balsam Hill Christmas trees before buying one, but I could not find reviews except very positive ones on their website. I found this website after I received my $400 tree and assembled it. First of all, I don't believe these are LED light bulbs. They are exactly like the replacement bulbs sold at any store, cheap and made in China. The description says that the electric lines are inside the branches. No they are not. They just lay on top of and intertwine through the fake branches. Secondly, the branches are thick plastic. They don't look realistic at all even though I upgraded my tree and paid more for "realistic" branches. I have had an artificial tree for many years. I got suckered by an ad I saw on TV. Don't let their advertisements convince you to waste money on these cheap looking trees. Thirdly, no assembly instructions were included in the box. I know it is fairly intuitive to assemble, but really Balsam Hill, you are so cheap you won't even include assembly instructions? And finally, when I called to find out how I can return this tree, I see that it is now marked down by $100 less than what I paid for it less than a week ago. You should have done the honorable thing and given me the reduced price without me having to ask for it. As I said earlier, do not waste your money on this cheap looking artificial tree.

A new tree with faulty lights. Heavy and cumbersome. I will never order again. They do offer to send replacement “parts”. I chose to return the tree. Time, money and inconvenience as they are slow to refund. They are slow to credit too.

Bought 5 outdoor garland for Christmas deco they only lasted 2 season, we were preparing to put them up after thanksgiving well not one strand completely worked we spent hours changing fuse and lights and still thy don’t work 😫😫😫😬😬😬 we tried everything. BH trouble shooting unfortunately our warranty expired No Help we were told that basically that was the life span of the lights Really they are only up for 6 weeks out of the year !!! We box and take great pain to protect our garland at the end season we paid good money to buy a better quality that would last!!! I would never recommend Balsam Hill so now we’re putting up these garlands and going out to buy strands of lights to fill in the dead areas . Balsam Hill’s lighted garland Don’t buy them !! Really false advertising on TV they suck u into buying their inferior product!!

I bought a new tree and it looks good but the lights did not work at the very top and they said although it is still under warranty ( I just opened the box) , they have no replacements parts and there no other options and they might have a replacement part in 1 year. They are going to send me some light bulbs to put on the top of my $1300 dollar tree that I just bought. . They sold me a new tree and didn't really seem to care that it didn't work. Very bad service.

I wanted to order ribbon from Balsam Hill, and because I live in Hawaii, they charge a flat rate FOR ANY ITEM, AT ANY WEIGHT, of $179. So, why would anyone in their right mind pay $179 to ship $49 worth of ribbon?? Balsam Hill, in case you didn't know it, Hawaii is part of the United States and the shipping rates to Hawaii are the SAME. You can easily put the ribbon in a USPS priority box for $20 and ship to Hawaii. I have never seen such antiquated, out of touch with reality policies in my life. I will never buy from you again, and I am only too happy to tell the world of your ridiculous shipping policies. Customer service was no help ... they read a script that doesn't really offer a solutions ... useless.

Storage bags tore first season , still waiting for a replacement 11 months later . Same story I get a generated automatic email ( over 15 times now ) out of stock . That’s a complete lie because my husband called separately wanting to purchase one for 169.00 dollars . Of course in stock !! So the emails are all lies . Do not buy

Absolutely the worst customer service department I have ever dealt with. Even after speaking with a supervisor, Richard, he was just as unhelpful as his co-worker.

1 star and that being generous. Lights worked for one seasons. Sent a replacement tree lights do not work again. They had no master bulb to send for replacement. Sent me 4 strands of lights to put on it. Really spend 1k for a Pre-lit tree to put light strands on it!! Come on. Now they tell me the second tree out of warranty and I’m SOL !!! Do Not waste a thousand dollars on this shoddy product what a crappy business model to leave customers hanging during the Christmas season. Now I have to go out and buy another tree. Balsamhill is everything a company should not be crappy product crappy customer service!! Do yourself a favor and save a thousand dollars and hours of aggravation and don’t buy a tree here!!!

Worst two year experience I have ever had. Do not use this company. They will not make things right. Refuse to send me a tree that is not defective. Filed a complaint with BBB. Contacted Corporate.

I purchased a Christmas tree in July; opened the box on November 4th and put up the tree. On November 10th I tried to turn on the lights, but they did not work. I called customer service and they determined that the tree was defective. They provided a free label for me to return the tree. And told me the tree I ordered was no longer available. I was given two options for a similar size and lighted tree, but there was no mention of an available coupon that would have saved us 20%. We chose one of the trees, noticed today that the tree we were told had the same lighting system, did not in fact have the same lighting system. When I called customer service to request a 20% discount (that unfortunately, ended 8 ½ hours ago), I was told that they could not apply the 20% discount to the existing order or to the more expensive tree that had the lighting options I wanted. Their manager was courteous, but only offered to reduce the price by $120 vs. $419.80 (if the 20% discount had not expired last night). I asked to speak to her manager and she said "I AM the manager". I've seen nicer trees at a local Christmas shop. I plan on going there today and canceling my current order.

We purchase the Balsam Fir tree unlit 7.5' tall because it said that it was very realistic and had pretty good reviews. However, after it arrived my wife quickly set it up, after coming home from work I looked at it and was very disappointed. This tree looked more fake than any artificial tree I have ever seen, it looks like its made of plastic. The branches and needles are all the same color, further inside the tree the branches have some brown color but that can't be seen. The tree does not look full like its supposed to, it says it has over 5,000 tips and I doubt it does, it looks cheap and not worth the money so we are paying $50 to return it, yes, they say $25 return fee but as it turns out it is $25 per box.. DO NOT BUY!

I would give them no stars if I could. Purchased a $600 tree that worked okay for two months. After trouble shooting the company confirmed it was faulty wiring within the tree frame. They only replaced one section. The next time I went to use it the other two sections did not work. When I called they told me I was out of warranty but my tree should have been completely replaced the year before. No one ever followed up and when I called months later I was brushed off. THEY TRULY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Happy to sell you a $600 tree that works for two months and is a potential safety hazard. Customer service is so rude!

The tree came beautifully boxed, but I was shocked to see the tree is made of heavy plastic and not real looking at all. I’m used to Vickerman trees that look real. Buyer beware. You have to pay $25 to return; this is taken off your refund. Again BUYER BEWARE!!!

We purchased the 7.5 foot California Baby Redwood with easy-plug color and clear lights in 2015 and we have been pleased until this year. It's a big consideration to spend so much money on a tree but we knew that if it's a quality item the value for use year after year would be worth it. We read a lot of reviews online before purchasing and noticed a lot of negative feedback regarding warranty issues, but in fairness to Balsam Hill we know that readers don't always know both sides of the story so we were not deterred and have been very happy until now. This year, (Oct 2019) we pulled out the tree to do a pre-check of the lighting and find that a partial strand in one of the sections is not lighting. We have spent a lot of time looking for broken bulbs and individually swapping out each unlit bulb with a replacement hoping we can bring the section back to life. Nothing worked. Today I called Balsam Hill to inquire about options to repair or replace the lights or even replace that entire section. Before I called I knew we are out of warranty on the lights and I was looking only for resources available to us at our own expense so we can continue to use this beautiful tree. I was surprised and shocked to find out that Balsam Hill will no longer sell replacement light strands for their trees (individual bulbs yes, but not strands), nor will they sell us a replacement tree section even though they have the sections available. They said if that section of our tree had a foliage defect they would send a replacement section at no cost as we are still within the timeframe for the foliage warranty. However there was no way they would consider selling us that same replacement section to solve our lights issue. We expected to be able to use, maintain and repair this tree after warranty. Not forever, but longer than this. To have zero resources available to customers after a warranty period ends is beyond disappointing. I wish we had known, so I'm sharing to enlighten others.

I received 2 Christmas wreaths that were not an appropriate fit for my windows and I needed to return them. There was no invoice or return information in the boxes. I called the customer service number and was told that I would have to pay $10 for each wreath to be returned to them. I was told that I could not put both wreaths in one box and if I did, I would only receive credit for one of the wreaths. Will return and definitely my last experience with this company. Extremely poor customer service!.
