I am very disappointed with John Lewis customer service. I purchased a dress online using a gift voucher. When the dress was received it was not suitable so I returned it using the return label and filling out the return form and supplying the gift card number totally expecting the card to be refunded the £55. After various communications by email to customer service including sending a copy of the postal receipt, I receive the last email advising that there is no refund as I am unable to find the order number. Sadly the order number has gone missing on the iPad. The frustration is that they can see from the gift card that the dress has been paid for and a John Lewis return label was used to return the dress as I sent a photograph of that in. I will no longer shop at any John Lewis or their other outlets as this experience has been so upsetting and disgusted me at how I have been treated, I am also £55 out of pocket to a major retail player. I only want ever to hear from John Lewis again if they are going to be honest and refund my gift card. It was a retirement gift from my employer.

Customer service poor and just not how it used to be. Very disappointed with the service received from the contact centre. I will not be purchasing again from John Lewis because of this interaction.

beware!this company just like a big scam group My JL Customers requirement number:53171506.I went to Oxford store bought blinds and curtains on march 2018,staff told me will be finish around 8 weeks time,but after 9 months they still not finish yet and I cant do anything but wait,staff very rude in store,they asked me not to be angry otherwise no one will help,I called customer service hundreds times,they shocked as well did apology and promised will call me back within 2 hours and they never did.manager promised me offer me discount,but another manager denied,this company just like big scam group,you pay and you never get what paid for.they are very stupid with business,now they dont know when they can finish,and no one follow my case,they left me no choise,no refund,no angry,no information about my order,only have to wait wait and wait,8 weeks job they spent 9 months,i guess they probly need 8 years.disgusting company.avoid them.

My wife and I visited the Kingston store yesterday, Wednesday 9th Jan to purchase a television. Their were a number of sales persons on the shop floor in the relevant department and having selected our chosen product were directed to the sales desk. This is where we were met by a significant queue due to there being only one person dealing with the actual sales made by the many shop floor assistants, on enquiring we were advised by who we understood to be a manager that the queue would take 15/20 mins to our being dealt with. We enquired that could they not place further staff on the tills to speed things up and were advised they had no one available, this is between 11 and 11:30am. We were further told that they were busy due to sales for which we replied this should not be unexpected and the store should staff the points of store congestion appropriately so as to afford shoppers a pleasant experience. The upshot was we got feed up with waiting and took our custom to another store where the service we received was that which we in the past had experience at John Lewis. We have shopped at John Lewis stores for 50 plus years this and other recent experiences leave us very disappointed. We also mention that whilst we were in discussion with management on the shop floor a further three customers advised the manager they had become exasperated with waiting and were taking their custom elsewhere. We would ask you to pass this e-mail onto the television buying department at Victoria as we understand they need information like this to inform them why sales do not match expectations. Regard

John Lewis Customer Service Hits Rock Bottom I am posting this review out of frustration. We bought a Hotpoint dishwasher through John Lewis a few months ago, it broke, we followed John Lewis protocol and had it fixed by an engineer ( they would not replace the faulty item) . It broke again, at which point after 4 weeks of going back and forth with JLs customer service team and being passed around, we finally got a replacement from Hotpoint. In the meantime we have a busy household and had to wash up for weeks. Then, the second dishwasher broke. And here we are again awaiting a call from Hotpoint, as JL have now passed this to them to rectify. All we want is a full refund , and for them to take away the faulty item. We don't want it fixed. We have had enough. JL are slow, we are still waiting for a call today to know what is going on. John Lewis customer service used to be great ; not any more. We are so disappointed with how we have been treated we would not recommend wasting your time nor money with a business that palms off the complaints to the supplier. JL sold us the product , their customer service team should make all the arrangements with the supplier and see this through. It shouldn't be the responsibility of the customer. Really poor customer service these days. Such a shame.

DO NOT BUY a phone from John Lewis, they do not repair cracked screens and when you get a repair elsewhere they then cancel your manufactures guarantee....now left with a 2 month old phone that does not auto focus from a problem before the screen replacement.

Hi, I have visited your store at Cheltenham this afternoon. I was interested in trying new make up by Charlotte Tilbury. Truly excellent customer service by Paulina. Rather then just showing me all the suitable products for my skin, she also showed me how to apply it all. Excellent stock knowledge. Suggested alternatives to suit my skin. Very pleasant and friendly. Left with few purchases and will be definitely returning to the store. Please praise!!!!!!

Ordered sofa over one month ago in store. After numerous calls and visit to the store, no joy, no returned calls. But everyone very sorry and apologetic! Your service is appalling. I will never shop there again. Cancelled order today.

Aerial connector on my tv has broken making it useless. Its well within the guarantee period but John Lewis has refused to fix or replace it because this is classed as "accidental damage". The connector should not break on a 2 year old TV! Beware - the guarantees are worthless. I will never buy from John Lewis again!

Ordered a bed and mattress and jl sent two bases but no mattresses and making me wait and take time off work for redelivery. Had to postpone sons visit as there is nothing for him to sleep on; furious!

I have never took to social media to write a review. But feel on this occasion that it is justified. After numerous customer service issues with JL, ie miss-sold a mattress and not receiving my 3K refund for 2 months, and only receiving refund when chased. Apparently they forgot? Faulty cushions, wallpaper swatches not delivered etc. I have spent time travelling to Milton Keynes Store, communicated via online and telephone customer services. Very rude operators. @JL what has happened to your ethics, responsibilities and customer first etc. People reading: ensure you pay via credit card if you wish to shop at JL, that way you are guaranteed your money back if there is a problem. I will continue to battle on.........

Incredibly bad experience with John Lewis, please avoid buying online good at all costs! Laptop purchased online (available at time of purchase) and after 1 week still no news, no laptop, no refund, no contact from JL!!! I had to call then twice at my expense every time with no luck. It is absolutely and utterly shocking!

I ordered a nice bouquet of flowers for my mum. The delivery day and went and unfortunately for some unknown reason the delivery company didn’t deliver them. I called John Lewis and was delighted with the customer service who refunded my money and sent my mum a gift card😁😁😁 I was so happy with they’re service I ordered a new computer I assumed I would have to wait a few days for it, I received it the very next day. Very happy customer ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My daughter and I ordered the same men’s shaver for Christmas presents for next day delivery. My daughters arrived in store the next day, but mine never arrived. On the 28th December I still hadn’t received it so I went and bought it elsewhere. I phoned John Lewis to say I still hadn’t received it. The guy asked me my name and address and after my reply his response was the word “cool”. I found that very disrespectful. Then he said with an attitude “ well you did order it just before Christmas”. So I replied you took the order promising it to be next delivery and my daughters arrived in time. His manner on the phone was not what I expect from John Lewis. No apology for bad service and very let down by them. I would be very hesitant to order from them again.

Purchased a duvet, terrible quality, send it back the same day. No refund. The reason provided “discrepancy from the returns paperwork and the condition the item was received in” Never again John Lewis.

DANGEROUS ITEM FOR CHILDREN Do not buy calia bench!! This bench my 4 year old boy was sitting on it and the bench toppled over and landed on his foot, almost chopping off his big toe. He spent 4 weeks off school unable to walk and his toe had to be operated on. The design of the bench is very poor and there was no warning stating the bench can topple over with children’s weight. John Lewis have said they are not taking any liability for the accident, we are disgusted with this outcome. Our little boy has been left traumatised , feel very let down by John Lewis! Very poor design and poor customer service

I ordered three dresses amongst several other items from them. My partner didnt like the style or size and I returned them. john Lewis claim there is damage to one of the items, so they haven't refunded any of the items and they won't confirm in writing what the imaginary damage is or return it to me. Presumably some clown in their warehouse damaged it on receipt or its new company policy to lie about returns to keep some cash. I remember when JL were a highly reputable company. No wonder they are going bust. When they deign to reply in writing I will be referring them to the ombudsman.

John Lewis has failed repeatedly to simply send us a guarantee that applies to an iPad, their after sales service is appalling, going round and round in circles and getting nowhere. Inefficient, incapable of joined up thinking, never buy from them again!

Very bad refund service. I bought a china bowl online, which was cracked. I was refunded the money immediately and decided to order another. In error I ordered the wrong colour, so I decided not to collect the item, but let Waitrose return it. I’ve spent 17 days chasing a refund. John Lewis themselves admit the item has been scanned and returned but not yet ‘checked’ and are obviously ‘stalling’ on giving me a refund. I’ve contacted Customer Services on a few occasions regarding this and the last response from a customer service team member was,” thank you for reaching out to John Lewis”. Have they now become the Samaritans??? Or similar mental health organisation, due to people going mad over trying to get blood out of a stone?? Very disappointed in their response and service.
