DELL is now a very Bad company to buy from. 1. Dell takes orders for equipment it does not have. 2. They give delivery dates that they know are fraudulent. 3. Dell Customer service confirms the delivery when they know the parts are not available. (they try to delay so the cancellation period will lapse. 4. The week of delivery, you get an email saying it is delayed for another 2 weeks (now you are out of cancellation period). 5. If you call customer service (transferred many times) they will not cancel your order because you are" not within the cancellation period." 6. Customer Service says to accept the order - even though it might not get to you within months of original order and just ship it back. 7. Summary - Dell is unreliable and in some cases fraudulent. Their policy is to use your money from the time they ship a cancelled order to the time they process a refund. This could be several weeks. If you multiply this times the number of orders for equipment they did not have, it is in the millions.

Do NOT BUY DELL!!! - from a once loyal customer!!! Dell takes orders for equipment it does not have. Then they give an estimated order delivery, even when THEY KNOW THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. After calling customer service (within the cancellation period) they assure you that the original date is going to be meet so they DO NOT CANCEL THE ORDER. Then the week of delivery they send an email saying it is delayed another 2 weeks. (you have already passed the cancellation period). After several hours on the phone Customer support says it can no longer CANCEL BUT just take the order whenever it is shipped and return it as soon as you get it. MEANWHILE DELL has use of your money from the time it is shipped to the time they get the bad order back. In most cases this is several weeks. Are we funding DELL with all of the CASH they can use during this period of time. If you multiple this times the number of orders it could be Millions of Dollars. Shouldn't this be illegal??? Is this why they process out of the USA??

Would give it a 0 star rating if this was an option. Terrible experience with purchasing a 2-in-1 laptop. Original delivery date was estimated to be 10 business days after payment. I check the order status 3 business days before estimated delivery date and it was pushed back 2 weeks. I check again before the 2 weeks are up and the delivery date was pushed back another week. After 3 weeks, the order status has been changed to 2 following payment date - that's almost a 3 month delay. I keep calling to get an update on my order and each time, customer service needs to check with the production team and puts me on hold for 5-10 min intervals. I finally request a refund and surprise, customer service needs to contact the production team again. I have yet to receive a refund and there has been no updates on whether my order will even be processed. In my opinion this is fraudulent-like, Dell collects your money, then sits on it for months without delivering the product or offering a refund when you request it. Will never do business with Dell again.

DON’T EVER BUY FROM DELL! This is the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life with a purchase! Everything has been delayed and problematic all the way. Promised made and not kept. Currently, they are holding back out refund, although they received the machine back 14 days ago, and we can’t get our money returned. We purchased a Dell XPS 15”, supposedly one of their best machines. Ordering was delayed, shipping was heavily delayed, all guarantees never upheld. When the computer finally did arrive, we had issues from day 1. Over the course of about a month, a list of about 16 problems piled up. Support was difficult to reach, and the sales representative did not seem to care about us at all. When we finally got through to support (Twitter was more responsive), we had 4 support issues over the course of 5-6 hours spread over a few days - and they were able to solve only ONE issue... They then agreed to take the computer back and give a full refund. Again delays. The simple act of arranging collection was difficult and cumbersome and took over a week. When the computer was finally collected - 14 days from today - we have still not been able to get our money back. There’s one excuse and one delay after another - never a clear answer. And from the sales rep - silence. We now have to continue contacting an ombudsman to see if that helps retrieving our £1500. If that doesn’t help, we will go to small claims court to get a hearing and a ruling and our money returned. Currently, this is no different than pure theft. Don’t ever purchase anything from this excuse of a company! @Dell, if your return our money promptly, I’ll take down the review again.

Bought computer for work last year May 2018. Hard drive seems to disconnect randomly around September 2018 techs couldn't find any issue, fine, happened more frequently later so called back this year March 2019, got an error code, stating drive is a failure, the rep tells me an onsite tech will come replace it for me, booked two days out for the appointment, great, on the day of the appointment I confirmed with someone in an online chat that I would be called when he is on his way....waited till the end of the night, no show, no messages, next morning I called in and inquired why the tech didn't show up, this rep finally tells me the tech would have received the part but was supposed to call me to confirm a day to swap it out.... worst tech support ever, would have been faster if they shipped it to me and I swapped it out myself then I wouldn't have taken a day off for bs.

This company has become one of the worst companies to buy a computer from. I'm actually surprised to see a 1.4 star rating as I feel it should be a 0 star rating. I believe it's time for a class action lawsuit. It's not even for the money anymore but rather so no one else makes the huge mistake of buying one of these computers ever again. I cannot express enough how bad this company has become. I will say that even with my warranty I got screwed out of a computer, $500 for 6 months of use and because I couldn't find my receipt due to moving they couldn't help me. Well after a lot of leg work between my bank and bestbuy I finally got a copy of my receipt. When I called back I was told I'm out of warranty. I explained when I called and spoke with dell the first time I was told it would still be covered even if I found the receipt after the 1 YEAR warranty because I called inside of the warranty period and can prove that's when it broke. Well not according to the next person I spoke to. I was called a liar and was told no one told me that. When I asked if he wanted to listen to the call he said to call back when I had it. I asked him to give me a number I would call him right back on another phone as the one I was on had the app that recorded the conversation. Well no surprise, he wouldn't give me a number and claimed he already researched the call and that I was never told that. I told him he was a liar as I was on the phone for over an hour with that tech and he couldn't have possibly listened to the whole conversation. At that point he just ended the call. I have never been treated so rudely especially when I was in the right and can actually prove what I was told. DELL has become one of the worst companies all around and if your not going to stand behind your product and warranties then you shouldn't be in business. I'm going to inquire about a class action lawsuit and would like anyone who has experienced a similar situation to please contact me. Ltataseo@hotmail.com

I purchased my laptop in 9/17. I immediately started experiencing problems. They replaced 2 motherboards within the first year. Subsequently, I have made numerous calls to Technical Support- as I had a problem with intermittently losing the sound on my laptop. They have not been able to resolve this problem and it was extremely difficult to get to talk with a supervisor. I finally sent an email to the head of Technical Operations/Customer Support (Mark O'Laughlin, I believe) and he forwarded it to the Advanced Resolutions Dept. That person was not helpful at all and would not let me talk to a supervisor (he said that there was not one and that he was the only person I could talk to). And when I sent follow-up emails, he lied and said that I had declined sending my laptop into the Dell Service Center in Texas for repair. Since then my computer is completely not working and I have been on the phone to Technical Support and Advanced Resolutions numerous times. They told me the operating system in corrupted and I have to back up my data so they can reset it. I explained that I can not back up my data because the computer is not working at all. They said I have to take it to Best Buy, etc. and pay for this because data is not covered by the warranty. It took me over 6 months to finally get this information from a Technician. The sound issue was never fixed. Do not buy a Dell laptop!

I wouldn't even give them 1 star if it was possible. Spent $3000.00 on a Alienware laptop that has in 1 year, been sent to the dell repair center 3 separate times, had the Onsight technician's at my house on 2 separate occasions, and lost count after 50 hrs. of phone time with their various Non English speaking reps. I will never buy anything again from dell. Buyer beware

I have a high-end Dell laptop that has essentially fallen apart. I seldom take it anywhrere, and the body is failing. The metal skin has split, the hinges have frozen, the metal rim cut my palms, the touchpad doesn't respond to clicks, and the battery is poor. I am so disappointed that I will never buy another DELL CRAPTOP.

Ordered T30 server 2/19/19 w16G RAM, 8G RAM delivered. Returned, 8G system once again received. Returned, another 8GB system received. Have spent total of more than 5 hours with 'customer service'. They are difficult to understand and are extremely incompetent. They canceled order 3/1/19 because they "... can only do two replacements...". This is 3/15/19, I am once again on on hold with customer service to see if can get my money back after they cancelled the order.

bought a 2016 dell computer. 2 years hard drive went out. they can't and won't fix it. spent 6 hours on the phone, talked to 14 people. total waste of time. Bad company. Very bad experience. Any true American company would have replaced or fixed unit w/ no charge. Buy dell at your own risk.

There tech support is incompetent. I have had to explain to them many times how to do things they should know. All they seems to know is how to run the diagnostic I can do myself which didn't find the problem because it doesn't check the hybrid hard drives properly.

We have two identical XPS 13 computers. The computers themselves have worked fine. HOWEVER, the charging cables for BOTH computers went out (thankfully since they were purchased 6 months apart, they did not go out at the same time). BOTH cables were replace, now one of the replacement cords has failed. First, a charging cable should certainly last the lifetime of a computer since the computer is useless if it doesn't have power. I started my call armed with the service tag number of both computers as well as the order number and date of the replacement cords so I was prepared for any question. That said, I spent OVER 3 hours (no exaggeration -- I watched the minutes tick away on my phone) trying to get a replacement for the cable which was STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I kept getting transferred as it was some other department's problem OR I would get sent to oblivion. The "technicians" do not really listen to the problem nor do they stray from their script. None are willing to accept the problem and solve it. INSANE for such a simple issue!

They are based out of India which does not start off well. Clearly I made a huge mistake because this computer has been nothing but problems since I got it. I purchase microsoft office WITH the laptop and it took me days of going back and forth with dell support to get them to get it up and running and ended up bugging microsoft directly before that issue was fixed. Now I can't even simply download my kindle app to this computer - it is completely seizing out. Fell completely mislead and will likely be returning this god forsaken computer. Not worth the hassle. I have a windows 7 model that even with some tics, that still works just fine for the moment. Back to basics I go folks.

I am so disappointed with the warranty and customer service department for Dell. The customer service department was rude and actually hung up on me when I was trying to figure out why my laptop that is less than a year old didn't have the accident damage coverage that is included in the price. I feel like they website was misleading. I don't get the warranty coverage because I didn't click on a box saying I wanted it??? Who wouldn't want a warranty that is included? They kept transferring me to different departments. Then hung up on me. My purchase may not be important to DELL, but it is a big purchase for me.

I ordered a new laptop for the business I was starting. It was a solid state hard drive which I'd determined would be better for performance and reliability for business operation purposes. The hard drive repeatedly kept crashing. I was in the middle of opening a business so I had to keep reverting back to using 8 year old Lenovo in the mean time. I called Dell support when i had a chance, and after over an hour on the phone doing farmed-out trouble shooting with someone in another country on something that I knew would never remotely fix a clearly malfunctioning piece of hardware, I ended up having to mail the device in for repair (but they make you go through the motions anyway). The little bit of time I got to use the device in between it crashing demonstrated to me that its color, lighting, sound, and even feel of its manufacturing/materials is extremely sub-par even when compared against my 8 year old dinosaur of a Lenovo. It will not fulfill my business needs. But due to the ongoing technical difficulties with dell, while also being in the middle of trying to launch a business from scratch, I missed the 30 day window for returning the item for a refund. To top it off, the most frustrating thing in all of this has been how obscenely difficult it is to get genuine customer service from this company... when you do get a live human their responses are canned and they pass you off to other people with ridiculous hold/wait times inbetween. They did refurbish the laptop to repair crashing issue, at least so far it seems ok. But now that I've been able to use the device more consistently I'm seeing that it doesnt have the quality I need for my business. I feel that if I had bought this same device or another brand from Amazon, or Best Buy, or Micro Center etc... my customer service level and ability to return and/or exchange products due to dissatisfaction would have been addressed easily. As it is now I'm going to have to personally try and sell, second hand, this Dell Inspiron 15 5000 just to get rid of it, and use whatever money gained from the sale to buy ANYTHING else. Lesson learned - dont buy a laptop, even if brand new, without being able to physically handle it and see its operating quality first. Or at least do NOT buy it directly from Dell!

Ordered a laptop online. Estimated delivery 5 to 10 days. After payment it became 4 weeks. This is for a business laptop. A world company needs 4 weeks to get you a computer. WHAT A JOKE. NEVER EVER AGAIN DEALING WITH DELL.
