I ordered the Eckman Lightweight 9' telescopic hedge trimmer and paid £7.99 for express delivery (stated as within 1 day on the confirmation) 3 days later still no delivery. Waited in "queue" yesterday for over 15 minutes (at 5p per minute) but had to give up. Today I persisted and stayed in the "queue" for 21 minutes to be told that my order had not gone out as "express" and that I would get my delivery today, but would get a £3 rebate for my express payment!! What a useless company. Wish I'd read all the reviews before ordering - mark that down to lesson learnt.

Ordered border fencing on Sunday 28 June. I have made 4 phone call plus sent 2 emails and guess what no reply. Gave up at today and contacted Master Card to request a refund. I have never delt with a company since internet shopping took off as bad as Eckman. It's quite clear they hold no stock as when you read all these one star reviews. Re ordered this product from another company today with delivery tomorrow. I feel sorry for people who have paid by cheque as they stand no chance of getting there money back.

i ordered a 10 foot telescopic ratchet tree saw and pruner on 14th June via the internet and received a sales confirmation order. I then received an e-mail to say it was 'out of stock' until the week commencing 22nd June. I have heard nothing since. Their web site says they aim to respond to e-mails within 24 hours. I e-mailed on 12th July (sunday0 but by 1630 on14th july I have heard nothing. Their phone line is an 0844 number at 5p per minute. I rang twice on Monday 13th. The first time I was number 14 in the queue and after 5 minutes was down to number 9. I gave up and thought I would ring back later. I have rung again twice since then and again ended up in a queue as number 10 7 11 and rang off after 10 minutes. Their catalogue gives a customer service line as 0203 455 0497 open (so it says0 0900 to 1700. I rang at 1630 on Tuesday 14th and eventually received the message ' our offices are closed'. This seems to me to be a company who think that they are doing their customers a favour. I will not deal with them again and would advise others to steer clear of them. I will nominate them for a 'Ryan Air award'!

Same story as many others. Order placed, paying for express delivery for an in stock item. Nothing received after 2 weeks. Customer service line closed during advertised hours. Sales line (0844) can't help (took 18 minutes on hold to get through). Shall be cancelling the order ... if I can ever get through to anyone!

Ordered an item on 17th June, my cheque was cleared on the 23rd June. Received nothing by 2nd July, phone and told it had been sent out the previous day. I still have received nothing, I have phone but unable to get through, have also e-mailed but still nothing not even a reply. All I want is my order or my money refunded,as it was a cheque I think there is little hope for me. What can we do !!!

I ordered a 9ft telescopic hedge trimmer on 8 July and paid the express delivery fee expecting to take delivery the next day. However, after staying in all day nothing turned up. I immediately contacted Eckman by email that same day. I waited a couple of days for a response to my email but did not receive one (despite the advertised response time of 24 hours). I contacted customer services on Saturday the 11th by telephone. The operative I spoke to could not explain why I had not received my order. He said my order would be delivered on Monday 13th and that he would refund the express delivery fee. I waited in all day Monday and suffice to say, my order did not turn up! I have emailed Eckman again asking for an explanation and when my order will turn up. Unfortunately, I don't hold out much hope for a reply. Looking at the reviews on this forum, Eckman do not appear to be big on customer service. I wonder if it is time to contact BBC Watchdog to investigate on our behalf.

Initially attempted to buy a spare part for an existing 4in1 multi-tool - which has given good service, but is now unusable. Was advised to get it repaired locally ! Reluctantly decided to buy a new unit for £180, including next day delivery. When the product failed to arrive I called Customer Services and was assured that it had been shipped on Monday but would not arrive until Thursday or Friday, and was offered a refund of 1 day delivery costs. The unit actually arrived last Friday, in a package which showed it was shipped on Thursday ! Anyway, I was pleased - until I checked the engine, only to find that it was impossible to remove the fuel cap because it is jammed under the air filter cover. It seems an incorrect fuel tank may have been fitted. I called the telephone number for Customer Services given on the paperwork. This turned out to be the Order Line, so I was re-directed to the Customer Services line, which announced "The office is now closed". No problem I thought, so I sent an email to sales@eckman.co.uk, which promises a 24hr response. Forget that - nothing so far - so I called the paid for Customer Services line this afternoon. Surprise, surprise, "This office is closed" is the only response. I then called the Order line but they refused to give me any assistance. Sounds like a Company going bust to me !

Ordered from Eckman, a 2-in-1 2-Stroke Chainsaw & Hedge Trimmer with Backpack Power Unit. It broke within a days use. Very poor build quality. I rang Eckman to complain and they told me they would arrange a collection of the faulty product and then refund me. This was over five weeks ago, every time I ring to ask why it hasn't been picked up they have no answer. They cannot even provide me with a tracking number? I have requested to be rung back by the supervisor several times but this has not happened un surprisingly. This sounds like a stalling tactic, in the hope I will go away. I won't!

I received my arch which I needed urgently in just 2 days. Was very pleased about that. Then we noticed that the holes in arch was drilled in wrong Place . I then emailed straight away so they could send me a replacement part, As could not send back as needed it for party, I sent pictures and 3 more emails, But still not no Reply. So now tied up with string. Not pleased. As expected a response. Either new part or a voucher or something .So will not be ordering any thing else. poor services .Very upset customer.

The catalogue states that should a product not be in stock you would be advised. this is rubbish. I ordered an item in mid June and having not received it 10 days later I phoned them, only to be told it was out of stock and new stock would be in by mid July. Rob.

Goods ordered 01 July not yet delivered on 11 July. Eckman Customer Service said on different dates goods despatched on 02 July then 03 July and finally not despatched at all and would have to contact the "warehouse". Eckman use Yodel as carrier. Yodel are reputable and on receipt of goods for despatch immediately send a tracking reference by email to the customer waiting for delivery. So if there is no tracking reference from Yodel you will know that the goods have NOT been despatched. Online payments to Eckman are received by "Direct Response Fulfilment plc" which is the "warehouse " and is based in Sittingbourne. Eckman Customer Service play the game that to answer any question they will need to contact the "warehouse". When asked to telephone or email back with an update Customer Service never do so the customer has to initiate contact yet again. I will post further reviews until this is resolved. Tommy.

I recently placed an on line order from eckman website, and paid for express delivery. was then told someone made an error and now product will be delivered in 5 days!

Product is excellent but the aftersales service when a spare part is required is beyond acceptability. I was told that for the replacement cap on the chain oil reservoir to go down to my local DIY or garden centre to see if they could provide one! Unbelievable! I am still chasing Eckman but won't hold my breath!

I have never come across such and unhelpful company in my entire life. All I wanted to do was spend money with them buying spare parts for one of their machines. I was told I couldn't because I did not buy it from them originally and they could not tell me where I could purchase parts. I suspect this is a company that just sells cheap imports to maximize their profits and gives no after sale support. It's all about looking good on the internet and to hell with the customer once they have your money. I am faced with the prospect of buying a new machine because I cannot carry out simple repairs for lack of spare parts. Shame on you Eckman your after sales service is total rubbish. Don't buy unless you are prepared to throw the equipment away when it has a fault. Other manufactures are more expensive but you can repair them when they go wrong. Save your money don't buy Eckman products.

I wouldn't even give this company 1 star ! My dad orderd the telescopic chainsaw on 27th of April and has still not received it ,looking at these reviews I don't think he wants it ,so we are phoning for a refund,he has wrote to them and had not reply ! DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE ,if he does not get a refund within 2 week I WILL be taking further action with trading standards

Should have added to previous review that part of the order was not delivered so it appears to me that Eckman take money and do not supply all the goods ordered

Long delay in supplying 2 in 1 hedge trimmer, e-mail response time not meet goods supplied not fit for purpose (faulty retaining screw) wish I had read reviews before placing my order if I had I would not have dealt with Eckman

I bought Eckman's 2-stroke petrol tiler/cultivator model PTCI from Smartbuy on the 29th of October 2013.I used the tiller 4x to disturb the soil between rows of potatoes in May the following year.Following this the screws became loose and the support for fuel tank snapped.Also the case housing the rope detached .I tired to contact Mysmartbuy many times and was late told it went into liquidation.I contacted Eckmans customer services and was told that they have nothing to do with any product bought from Mysmatbuy.They won't accept even the claim that the product should have a one year manufactures guarantee . I have so far spent another £82 trying to get the tiler working again.I have now decided to give it for recycling when the van comes around .I was reading the Kitchen garden Magazine and came across an advert from Eckman stating that their products come with No Risk Approval.What a lie.I note that Eckman is a trading style of Direct Response Fulfillment PLC,It is the lack of response from Eckman that is the problem.I will never buy another product or recommend Eckman to anybody.
