So disappointed with Halfords. Was told my car needed 2 bulbs at the rear. The fog light and the rear brake light. Left my car and they fitted these. I went back to store and paid and collected my keys. It turned out that they had told me I needed a rear fog light left side that was not needed and not even wired for use. They charged me for no reason. When the bulb was fitted it would have never worked as there is no electrical connection to it. The fitter would have known immediately, but still 1. did not inform me 2. charged me for the bulb and the fitting. Worse still is getting through to the store to complain. I rang and you get through to South Africa call centre... they are polite but do nothing except leave you on hold now happened 3 times and was told 1st time store will ring you... they don,t second time told same ... no call ... third time ... told putting you through then the line disconnects after hearing a voice with a south african accent supposedly from netherfield nottingham... I now have to contact the CEO Graham Stapleton by email his email address is on the internet. Of course i still await a reply... Please be warned Halfords are retailers that are interested in selling products whether you need them or not !!! they seem to have no functioning customer service that will help you at all and cannot even get the smallest details right.. be warned stay away from Halfords

I bought a set of boltless shelving online. Arrived prompt and was excellent. Two days later noticed Halford had set up a recurring payment from my debit card. Advised by bank to contact customer service. Customer service absolute joke. Case made 7th November and promised call back within 2 days. Nothing. Called 11th November. Constantly put on hold by staff who were rude and not helpful. Told there was no case created. After threatening to report to my bank eventually put through to a young lady who told me nothing on their system. Sent a screenshot show recurring details. Though she was pleasant was very disinterested. I asked for email stating recurring payment not on system so can inform my bank. Still waiting for email. Can't trust Halfords so never buying online again from them. Hopefully my bank will now help

Taken my bike to nuthall road halfords for repair... it's a carrera which halfords make. It's in for repair in may with a quote of £250, they call me in November to inform me they are not repairing the bike because it will cost £400. Disgusting customer service.

Review of Halfords Retail Tim Murphy 32 reviews GB Rated 1 out of 5 stars I ordered a set of Walser Alessandro… I ordered a set of Walser Alessandro Seat Covers Online for delivery to Sunbury-on-Thames Store. Never received a text message or email to say they were ready for collection. I attended the store and was pawned off with set of Halfords own Brand and assured that they were Walser Seat covers. I contacted Halfords customer service in an attempt to resolve the issue but were of no assistance or apologetic to sort the problem. Halfords clearly advertised Walser Seat covers online and I expected to get what I had ordered. I reordered in store hoping that would solve the issue but I was again given Their own brand. Halfords how can sell an item online advertised as Walser and send me your own brand, clearly a breach of the Trades description Act /Consumer Rights Act 2015. There is absolutely no mention on your website that the Walser Seat Covers are repackaged in your own Brand. As for Customer service its a big Minus from me. Date of experience: October 31, 2022

Let the following review via Halfords and Trustpilot “ Waste of space chippenham branch. Once again a wasted journey to Chippenham branch, This branch next to never sends you ready to collected updates and if you bring this up in store they will say just come in at said collection time BUT then like today you find your order is taken online and paid for saying ready to collect in one hour and they say sorry we were just about to call to say we cannot find any in stock so another 15 miles of fuel and time wasted.” And guess what Halfords had it removed as they claim it didn’t meet their criteria 🤔 just shows how you cannot trust company reviews when they can moderate them.

Avoid at all costs, especially for bike maintenance. They took ten days to do a bad job on a simple repair, twice, and then took two months of chasing to give a refund. Appalling customer service. They have lost me as a customer for my car MOT & service, which I used to have done there – they’re obviously incapable of resolving issues so I just can’t trust them.

Halfords have zero customer support Halfords have zero customer support. My wife bought a motorcycle battery on order from Halfords sunbury branch.The order was cancelled by them. My wife rightly wanted her money back as it was bought at the sunbury Halfords store. They said they couldn’t give her a refund because the money was up in the cloud and they didn’t have it and to phone customer service. They also couldn’t give her money back. Surely the sunbury Halfords store should refund on her bank card from which it was paid from, but no! The manager of sunbury branch was contacted by the staff and she didn’t want to no either. My wife is still waiting for her money back, this is totally unacceptable.

appalling attitude. all I was trying to do was unsubcribe from mailing. the website says use their live chat. the live chat doesnt recognise 'unsubcribe'. Called customer services. person said 'please hold' never came back. Tried again 2nd said I had to be transferred to head office to unsubcribe. unbelievable but 'tranferred to head office' meant left on a silent line for 6mins. rang head office reception who put me through to resolution team. An outgoing message that suggested it would be putting you through to someone then just cut you off. Will never use Halfords again if I can find another retailer. I never write reviews but thinking of joining Twitter just to explain how pathetic this is -just to stop me unsubscribing from a mailing.

I ordered a schwalbe tube with fitting. After fitting got some old tube that 2 days later exploded damaging my tire. Luckily I was fine even tho I was biking on a very busy street. Avoid!

Had a frame snap,despite ordering the frame 4 times and having to call for over an hour in total I'm still bikeless 29 days later,20 days after they said it would be complete THINK BEFORE BUYING A BIKE FROM HERE ESPECIALLY THE HARLOW STORE,SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE

Checked website before traveling to the Horsham branch to collect the item which it said it was in stock, only to be told that it was unavailable. The young assistant told me that it wasn't Halfords fault and they only do a stock take once a year, and his whole attitude was dismissive, and he said they get the same problem all the time. I asked to speak to a manager, and in the meantime another assistant tried to help by checking the website instore, and it said they had 8 items available, but he couldn't find any despite looking for them. I find the whole experience unacceptable, this has happened to me on three previous occasions, and I think the whole experience is totally appalling, and the website a complete joke, and if it weren't for the fact that I have £60 worth of Halfords vouchers, I would never use the shop again.

Never purchase bike from them. You will not get it. I purchased bike from then in the store but they had to ordered to the store and build up. They scheduled me with the date to come and collect. On the day somebody called telling me the bike will not be ready today because they have a backlog but the bike is in the store and will be ready by tomorrow. They re-scheduled me for next day. I came next day just to hear that not only the bike is not ready but also is not even delivered to the store yet. They were unable to tell me when the bike will be delivered maybe tomorrow. I went the next day (no calls to tell me not to come because bike is not ready) and again bike not even delivered. This was going on to the point i had enough to request refund. First member of staff told me i can do it over the phone. Which i learnt later was lie. As i called them next day again the first one i spoke told me that all is sorted. Then another one call me to tell me that is not, i need to come to the store with the card. They just don't their own procedure, with two of them telling me that can be done over the phone. I got to the store really furious already. They were moving me from till to the till because apparently they were not able to do it on that one, the next one didn't work so i was pushed to the one with huge queue. I think this was malicious because i dared to request refund so they vile to me . But how long you can wait for a bike Jeeez. Unprofessional, untrained staff and callous and malicious.

Do not make an online order with this company they will charge you for goods that you have not received. Customer service is an absolute joke. Unbelievably poor I don't know how they keep any Customers.

Do not attempt to book a windscreen repair with this company. Apparently they have no means to undertake windscreen repairs in the rain! Something they fail to mention when you are booking your appointment online. The just cancelled mine today when due to arrive. Strange that a company should branch out in to mobile repairs at our homes with no means to allay bad weather. Even stranger giving the normal UK weather. They are planning to fail themselves and you. Vote with your feet - this company is just a shop not a customer serving supplier, keep clear as I will be from now on.

Unable to provide replacement battery and charger for Coyote Connect electric bike purchased from Chester Greyhound store six years ago. This makes the bike now unfit for purpose. The staff at the store were polite and considerate but helpless because of the lack of backup in the system. The charger literally exploded on connection to the electricity supply. Fortunately I was unhurt. Subsequently After numerous visits and conversations . I was told they could not do anything for me thus making the bike absolute although mechanically sound. Because I am 86 years old the powered support was necessary for me to enjoy cycling. A huge disappointment and clearly no service support available for a bike bought for £599 six years ago. A very indifferent response from Halfords.

According to website part in stock. Went to store part NOT in stock. Said could get it in afternoon. At 6 pm said part had not turned up so come back tomorrow morning. Went back next day after 11 - still not there, THEN could not find order ! This is about a week after trying to get a fiesta oil filter, the most common car in uk - NOT in stock mate. Incompetent and a really bad attitude.

If I could give HO STARS AT ALL? I WOULD! What a complete joke of a company! On 26/08/2022, I purchased a front & dash cam package to be fitted at my home on bank holiday Monday. I thought it was strange that the Bolton store was emailing to pick up the equipment from them, which I did on Friday after work. Only to be told at the counter that I could only have it fitted at their store the earliest date would be next Friday and they required my car for two hours, they told me to ring Halfords Customer Service. The next morning on Saturday 27/08/2022 I did & waited on the phone for over an hour, & was told they could NOT FIT THE EQUIPMENT AT MY HOME, I was promised a return call from the manager WHICH NEVER CAME. So I purchased another set of the same dash cam equipment for a second time with a fitting slot of Monday 28/08/2022 and returned the first to the Bolton store later that day for a refund. The fitter arrived early and worked on my car for about an hour at my home, he rang the doorbell and said he COULD NOT FIT THE EQUIPMENT & I would have to the Bolton store because he COULD NOT FIND THE FUSE BOX! He had fitted the front dash cam on my windscreen which did not work & all the rest of the equipment I had purchased including empty boxes were in the front passenger foot well. He drove off & I then rang customer service who offered me a £85.00 fitting refund but could not do anything else until they had their equipment back! They could only do that when I could be fitted in and they were busy on other jobs. IS THIS HOW A CUSTOMER SHOULD BE TREATED?

Complete lack of process means bikes get lost in their unworkable system. TLDR: Dropped my bike for a service check on 6th June, was promised a quote that day, but heard nothing. Called customer support every day for a week (you cant't call the store direct) who promised me that a manager would call me "within 3 hours". Heard nothing. Called intermittently after that then 18 july the manager called with a quote which I accepted he said it would take 5 days. 2 weeks later still heard nothing back. Drove to the store to speak to someone in person. After half an hour they found my bike in the storeroom untouched. They reprocessed it and said that the service would be requoted and carried out as a priority. Now 3 weeks later and they haven't quoted and can't find my bike. Each call to customer support takes minimum 30 mins on hold whilst they try to liase with the store on the phone and they can't transfer you directly. Each trip in person to the store requires an hour or two of traveling or waiting around plus the ULEZ charge as i cant cycle there!!!

I ordered online an on/off battery and fitting at your Stockton store. I arrived and explained what I was there for and the manager immediately said did you book with us or the auto centre, which confused me as I booked it with them otherwise I wouldn’t hav e been there,4 staff were present, there was no, can I help you from any of them. I was asked my name etc which they already had, I relayed it all to them. The girl who fitted the battery then just walked out with the battery and walked outside without any indication, she then got me to move my car to bay to fit it, I wasn’t sure how to pop the hood, she got impatient with me and stormed over to my car door and popped it with a look of disdain. she then complained that the car was too high for her to do it but persevered. I was unaware I then had to have it electronically connect, I’ve since found out from a garage that she should have explained that or at least guided me to get it done. The whole experience was very poor, I won’t be returning to have any of their services or products at any point in the future.
