Worst company in the world at customer service, impossible to trust. I sincerely hope they go bankrupt.

I have been with Vodafone for over 20 years and the service has been OK, but over the past six months it has been appalling. They changed my direct debit but didn't give my bank the correct details and as a consequence the bank refused payment. I told Vodafone about this before they new. and they tried again to present the bill using the same details as before!!. They then turned off my phones, in spite of the fact I had paid my bills for over twenty years by direct debit. After over 20 hours of discussions with numerous people they accepted it was there fault and eventually said they would give me six months free credit to make up for the trouble I was caused, which on the face of it seems fair. The following month the same thing happened and they again eventually were apologetic, but they revoked the six months free that had been given to me previously and reluctantly gave me two months free. During all this time I wasn't able to see my bill online, but somehow the bills started to arrive at my home as hard copy, but on this last bill they have started to charge me for having my bills posted to me, not a lot of money but a very bad principle and awful company practice. I phoned the office in Newbury but the staff there were very unhelpful and actually quite rude and challenging; the company certainly wasn't like this when Lord McClaren was on board. I haven't clicked the box about letting Vodafone know of my concerns because I know it will make no difference whatsoever. Like many others on this thread as I have lost all trust in this company I will be terminating my contract when it expires. Should any-one from Vodafone ever read this very short summary which is doubtful, please be aware that when things go wrong the ethical and best customer practice is to turn a negative into a positive by excellent management of the problems. This has certainly not been my experience.

Had 2 lines and asked for pak code to keep the number, which was sent to me by text, I settled the contract 4 months early and they informed me it was now cancelled. 10 months later I realised to my stupidity that I was still paying £47 PCM for the line that I cancelled, I contacted them and they cancelled the line there and then but they cancelled the line that I still wanted, called them again and they reinstated that line and told me that I would receive refund of £470. I then receive a text saying that I'm now into a new 2 year contract on the phone that they mistaking lay cancelled, I call and after hours on the phone manage to sort that. I call 1 week later to question my refund and am told that I never used the pak code so I won't be getting a refund I said that this was never explained to me and asked to hear the recorded conversation, never had the promised reply from Vodafone. I call again and they tell me that they have listened to the conversation and it was explained, I tell them that I want to hear the conversation, promise of reply never received then I receive a huge bill for 3 lines on my contract ( I only have 1 line) they sort error and promise £266 refund. Never received! They are liars and thieves and a company like Vodafone has no place in the society we live in, they take money as they feel fit from you're bank account and you dare to cancel the DD for the fear of a bad credit rating. Gone to tesco mobile now.

Unbelievable how badly organised this company is considering the size of it.

I wish I could go back to EE but I'm locked into expensive contracts with vodafone. They won't give me the data I'm paying for and won't listen to me when I complain. The last time I complained they sent my account login details to strangers. So now I'm too scared to complain again. I really wish I could leave now. Vodafone are THIEVES.

never ever would i go with vodafone and never would recomend them to nyone..since january of this year my husband has had nothing but diabolical customer service from them...after trying to cancel my daughters contract who was on the same bill with my husband..they have failed to cancel it after numerous phone calls they cancelled my husbands contract instead and leaving him withought any phone for 10 days with promises that it will be put back on in 24hrs but once again failed promises...it then gets put back on after 10 days and then gets a bill for 171 pound as they cancel his contract again without any futher notice..eveything is vodafones fault as my husband has never failed to make his payments to them...after long arguments and them cutting phone calls short because they know they at fault he has had no alternative than to get the ombudsman involved..so one thinking of going with vodafone i would strongly recommend you steer well away from them unless you want diabolical service ..rude customer service agents and months and months of arguments to try and cancel a contract when contract is due to finish

The standard of Customer Service with this Company is crap.On the 26th Feb 2016 I went into their shop on the shopping centre where I live and asked them for a PAC Number and a settlement figure for my wifes phone, and was told you will have to ring 191 we don't do this. When I got home I told my wife she had to ring 191 which she did, when she finally got through to a person she told him that she wanted a PAC Number and a settlement figure,he then went into a sales pitch, stating that they could do the phone and tariff cheaper than the company we had gone to,my wife kept telling this person that she was not interested but he just carried on,in the end she was yelling down the phone telling him to give her the information she asked for. On the 1st March I wrote and posted a letter to their complaints department,on the 22nd March I had not had a reply so I wrote another letter and posted this along with a copy of the 1st letter by Registered Delivery so I would have a signature for receipt. This let was delivered on the 24th March at 08-25am,it is now the 28th and I have not had a reply or anyother form of contact with them. I only gave this a 1 star so I could write the review in actual fact it is worth minus 10 stars.

Echoing what other people have experienced, it seems that the only way to pursue a complaint with Vodafone is through ADR or a small claims court. Their customer service is non-existent and they don't adhere to even their own complaints policy so what chance do we have? I entered into a new contract with them December 2015. Hadn't had any problems before, but they cacked that up. My mobile minutes were missing and I was supposed to have 2GB of data, but only 1GB was recorded. I naturally queried this when I got through my 2nd confirmation email (the original received on the day I selected the contract was absolutely fine). That email stated I was within my 14 day withdrawal period. Don't trust the advisors when they say: "I've sorted that for you." Or even if they say they see your minutes on the screen. Or even if they put you on hold to speak to a retentions advisor to sort out your data. They won’t have. Or if they do anything, it won’t be a permanent fix. I was an idiot for trusting them. Naturally, my January 2016 bill was wrong and my subsequent call to resolve that was a nightmare. I then moved to writing to them after speaking to Consumer Helpline. Vodafone never got back to me even after two letters, both sent recorded delivery. They’re just not interested. Now that over 8 weeks have passed, it’s in Ofcom’s hands. If you have a complaint with Vodafone, do it in writing – if you phone them, keep a note of all the dates, names and times. Keep a log. Anything you send to them, keep a copy for yourself and send it recorded/signed for mail. Whatever you can use against them to build your case, use it. They only dig bigger holes for themselves. If 8 weeks have gone by, go straight to the Ombudsman. Vodafone won’t lift a finger to help you. Not on their own. Don’t go with this company.

Customer service is pathetic, I have been on the phone to them numerous times over the same issue that they have said is resolved, but 12 months after still is not. Just been on the phone to some Asian woman who I could not understand for starters, then to top it off gave me no advice and the WRONG number to ring. Vodafone's staff are making the company an embarrassment.

Vodafone, you continue to disappoint me with your appalling service. So it starts here, I very nearly ended my contract in January due to all the issues and problems I had experiences with you!! However, a lovely gentleman on the phone persuaded me to take out another 24month contract with yourself which I very stupidly agreed too. Long story short, he told me I would receive a good will gesture on my account, which would be a £30 credit and this would cover the fee for my new iPhone 6s handset that I had just ordered, I was told that u would receive my new phone the next working day. I waited in all day for my new handset, that wasn't even out for dispatch the day before when I was told it would be! So I then spent another hour waiting on hold, talking to different advisors and having to explain the situation again 2/3 times before it was resolved. So the advisor who promised me that my new handset would arrive within 24 hours hadn't actually processed my order so I then had to wait 7 days until I received my new handset. I received my handset and all was fine, up until the middle of February when Vodafone decided to charge me £70.65!!!!!!!! This left me feeling very frustrated and baffled as my new price plan was meant to be £39.20 per month. Straight away I called Vodafone YET AGAIN to be told the good will gesture of £30 to waiver the up front handset fee would be put as a credit on my account so that my bill for the following month (March) would be around about £9. So today I've received my bill for this month and it is £39.20, I've spent 30 minutes on the phone to Vodafone trying to resolve this matter only to be told the Man who sold me my new contract in January should not have told me he can give good will gestures out as this is false information and Vodafone have changed their policy's! This is disgusting and your staff should not be able to give customers false information. Vodafone I am appalled, you have caused me nothing but Grief and Frustration and I've been nothing but a loyal customer to yourself. I expected the best service and not once have I received the best service. I will now be advising everybody against Vodafone, and the sooner I can finish my contract the better as I will also be going elsewhere

Terrible company to deal with... if you value your sanity... steer clear. Non existent customer service... lie to your face and make promises they've no intention of fulfilling... 23 years on monthly contract I've been with them... so what chance have you? No customer loyalty whatsoever. I'm now borderline psychotic after speaking to at least 40 different advisers via live chat, telephone and store... having to bin my iPhone and go elsewhere as I can't take anymore. Save your sanity.

Upgraded this week, was promised delivery on 11th March, the address they sent it to was wrong as I had received a confirmation text message naming the wrong address, we phoned sorted that. I tracked the order again and it was going to the wrong address still, so we phoned again and they apparently sorted it. You wouldn't believe it but they got it wrong again, so then I thought that would be it, but it wasn't I found out again it was going to the wrong address so I phoned again and still they hadn't sorted it after that. So not only do I belive that the customer service is awful, the company is a scam (I had to pay to speak to them), but now I have to wait until Monday to get my phone which I paid £99 + a contract and delivery charges, waiting in all day for absolutely nothing.

Customer service not only did not resolve the issue THEY caused with my phone, the 'fix' they gave me completely broke it! Refused to accept it was their fault, I spent 45mins at a time on hold; only to speak to a patronizing, non-English speaking individual, had to take time off work to follow through with advice they gave me, and I STILL didn't come out of it with a working phone Thank god all this happened at the time my contract was up; meant I could cancel and leave with my PAC code!! Gone to EE, sooooooo much happier & the customer care team are lovely :) I am happy to have moved to EE - would never go back to Vodaphone - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Staff lie, promise to call back and never do. They told me they were listening to my call so put me on hold for 25 minutes. Then told me there was a problem with the system. I phoned back the next day to be told that they can't even listen to calls! Charged me incorrectly but still made me pay it....absolutely disgusting

I took out a 24 month contract on 4G with Vodafone as their map showed maximum signal in my area. Previously with Virgin where reception was patchy in my area in London. Despite this, the signal was worse with Vodafone - 0 bars! After dragging me out beyond the 14 day cool off period by telling me my phone/sim needs reseting, they finally told me (day 16) that the mast in my area was under long-term maintenance/upgrade since January 2016 with no completion date set - yet I had taken out service in February 2016 and they failed to tell me that! I was advised by them to set my phone to 2G as that would give me a better signal! After a few more calls to them and hours of arguing my case and speaking to their resolutions team, they released me from the contract. However they would not reimburse the cost of the glass screen protector which cost £20 for the Sony Xperia Z5 which I had to return to them, as they said it was my issue for buying accessories for the phone! A very unprofessional and mean-spirited company!

As being a Vodafone customer for a year and a half now i am very disappointed about their customer service. Had a problem with my phone since Christmas 2015 and have had about 20 phone calls to them for them too resolve my problem. As for them being a very poor service they haven't helped one bit. Being transferred over to different people which is ignorant and very rude. Always places me on constant hold and doesn't seem too want too help me. As for the very start of it I loved it until they started too charge me extra for my bills and adding loads of extra data too my account which I didn't ask for! One person tells me different things about my phone and my account and the other tells me they cant help me and that my bills are perfectly fine even though that is very untrue. Just of the phone with them again as I'm getting no help what's so ever. Girl put me on hold and transferred me through and actually hung up on me which was so ignorant. Such a pathetic excuse of a network. Advising people never go too Vodafone as they don't help you at all and once my contract ends I will be moving to a different network and won't be returning too these. Definitely 1 of the worst networks I've been with yet.
