DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR FROM BIG MOTORING WORLD!!!! My Wife and I spent £28k on a Car and less than 2000 miles since purchase. The car has had engine failure due to a timing chain issue. We have had weeks without a family car email's backwards and forwards to Big Assist. They are not intrested in taking accountability for selling a faulty car. 200 point check is a farce After Sales a waste of time. Avoid this company at all costs, I would not recommend this company to anyone. The experience of purchasing the vehicle wasn't pleasant and wish we would of walked out of the showroom looking back now!!!

Do not buy- dishonest company/ safety concerns/ poor quality cars I absolutely do not recommend purchasing from big motoring world, do not waste your hard-earned money and risk getting caught in a back and forth with these people. 100% recommend buying elsewhere. This will be a long review but feel everyone should be fully aware of the type of company they are considering purchasing from and the quality of cars they offer. I bought a seat Ibiza from big motoring world in cannock on 29/06/24. I made a point of purchasing from a bigger dealership with the idea that it is less risky than buying private, they will be more trustworthy and that I would have a level of protection. Completely wrong. The week following the purchase was spent calling them every day with a different issue, I raised a complaint about the entire farce on 03/07/2024 for a manager call back and I am still waiting. 29/06/24 - The day of purchase - On the drive home from the dealership I noticed the clutch making a noise, I called the dealership as soon as I got home, only to be immediately fobbed off to the aftersales team - received a number and email. Sent email across straight away, and waited til Monday (01/07/24) to ring. 01/07/24 - rang about the clutch issue, that evening noticed that water runs off into the car through the window and that there was a rumble from the engine. 02/07/24 - rang about the water/ rumbling. The same evening I popped the bonnet to find that the bonnet support bar had not been secured and was just hanging loose hitting whatever was within its vicinity, also noticed that the coolant was already below minimum- checked the oil at this point to find that it was only just above minimum. Bought coolant and oil- topped everything up. 03/07/24 - called about bonnet support being loose/ coolant level being low - at this point assumed that the 150 point check they claim to carry out hadn’t been done fully. Raised a complaint about everything so far. That evening the car was groaning an awful lot when was getting in and out of it. 04/07/24 - rang about the groaning and informed them was taking it to the garage tomorrow (5th) for diagnostic report for warranty. Also chased manager callback re complaint. Throughout these calls the warranty team has advised that I have to have diagnostics even if I want to return. 05/07/24 - the coolant had dropped again. took it along to the garage who based on the conversation alone, advised I reject the car for a refund. I called citizens advice bureau who also advised me that I am well within my rights to reject the car without having a diagnostic report as long as I can prove there is fault with the car. I sent photos of the low coolant levels (both times)- with it dropping so fast it indicates there is a leak somewhere. The photos were sent along with official request for full refund as is my right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. 08/07/2024 (Today) - I received a missed call but they did not bother to leave a voice message or send an email to follow up the call when I did not answer, however I had received another email ‘summarising’ my issues so far and again mentioning a diagnostic report? When I returned the call I was advised that they couldn’t put me through to anyone because the aftersales department doesn’t have a number. But that he will send an email to the team requesting a call back. Yet more of my time wasted. Followed this up with a number of emails today, including additional photos of the water issue, to support my short-term right to reject. Still not received a call from aftersales either about my refund or the complaint I have raised. Also, they have repeatedly minimised the seriousness of the carelessness of not securing the bonnet arm support to simply ‘the support was making a noise because it was loose’. No, the support was making a noise because it was hitting off things within the engine compartment, when I opened it whilst stationary it was touching the belt area. The rumble seems to have stopped ever since I secured the bonnet support. Not only has it possibly caused damage but it could quite easily have ended up breaking free and getting jammed in one of the engine components. To minimise it to just being a noise is ridiculous and shows a complete lack of care. Also I have had a couple of different advisors ask for a photo of the mileage when actually it is irrelevant as I’m still within the first 30 days of purchase, and requested my refund within the first 7. The mileage should only be factored in if it’s beyond 6 months of purchase and they want to deduct usage from the full refund amount. Again, all confirmed by citizens advice bureau. The following is an indication of their transparency and morality. Their sales technique is very much a case of trying to badger you into taking add ons, was repeatedly hounded to consider finance (extra money), to take the extended warranty (extra money) - but this was to the point the sales agent brought the manager out to also try sell it? I wonder why they were pushing so hard? (Unwanted) Finance options always presented without the total repayable shown. Also when selling the warranty they repeatedly state that the car would have to go down to Kent under the standard warranty but if you pay for extended warranty then there is a workshop over the road - a tactic to get you to spend because who wants to have to send the car down to Kent? But during this whole process it’s become apparent that you can take it to a local garage (as long as it’s vat registered) and organise getting repairs done there without having to send it down to Kent, I have also been offered their own Cannock garage as an option - I would not trust them to be honest with their reports at all, their own garage is bound to produce a favourable report. Also selling the smart car protection/ repair package. I pointed out a scratch and asked if that’s something they would address before I took the car and was told that the price reflects this, but then was also told I could always take out the Smart Cover and then give them a call couple days later to get the scratch sorted. So I should pay out to take additional cover and then make fraudulent claims because you as a dealership don’t do the basics of sorting out scratches like most others do? Should’ve realised at this point that they’re below standard and not to be dealt with. Also being pressured into making a decision on the spot because ‘as soon as you leave the forecourt you release the car’ despite having paid a reservation fee, and if I hadn’t gone into the dealership that day my reservation would’ve still been valid for I think atleast another day? They have completely ruined what should be an enjoyable experience, having to try manage this around my nursing job has been beyond stressful, and their go- to is ‘we can only apologise for the inconvenience’. I am now having to wait for this whole process to finalise before I can start looking for a better quality car from a trustworthy company. I hope for this matter to come to a close and for my funds to be returned to me asap, as this whole situation is causing undue stress and inconvenience and is impacting my mental and physical health. I strongly urge you to save yourself the stress and buy a car elsewhere. The company is misleading, dishonest and offers poor quality. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Worse place ever. We went to Leeds today and the attitude in the sales guy was horrific. He was grumpy, rude, didn’t explain himself literally no ounce of effort at all. I walked off in the end and left my husband with me as my patience had completely run out for his incompetence and foul attitude! Literally no customer connection or conversation at all, would of been better off asking the cars there specification etc…

I've recently bought a car from this company and am generally pleased with it, however, some stuff you should know: 1. Don't be in a rush. My cash purchase was very straightforward - part exchanging my old car - but the whole process took in excess of 4 hours. The sales room was practically deserted, so God knows how long it must take at a weekend when it's crazy busy. 2. I was quoted a price for my part-exchange beforehand on the phone and when it came down to the nitty gritty, a reduction of £2,000 was offered. My part-ex (5 years old) was immaculate and there was nothing wrong with it mechanically, 1 owner from new, FSH etc. but I was told that they had to respray every panel that had a stone chip, no matter how minor. The resprays are done on site by their own employees. 3. Hard sell on the very expensive GardX external/internal waterproofing system which comes with a bag of products to keep the treatment relevant, except my new car did not have one and subsequently obtaining what should have been in with the car in the first place turned out to be difficult. Incidentally, I quibbled the original price and obtained a discount but there are still much cheaper products out there that do the same and can be bought independently. 4. The extended warranty doesn't cover 'wear and tear', but is worth having. Again, it's expensive but then so is a replacement engine if it goes bang. The standard 3 month warranty that very car comes with is almost not worth the paper it's written on. 5. Staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful, but then they want you to buy their vehicles. Also, there was a hard push for a personal review to be submitted by a couple of people. It's clear that they are rewarded for good reviews. 6. ALWAYS read the small print. The sales people do try to rush you through this bit. Being cynical....!

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS - SOMETHINGS IS NOT RIGHT So I was at the showroom to buy a car for my nephew when the car i was looking for just happened to be parked outside with someone looking at it. Asked the sales guy standing around about the car and lucky for me the guy looking at the guy did not buy. I decided to take it for a test drive and it drove like it should. Place was immaculate but something seemed off about this dealer. 1) My nephew too his car for a drive and wasn't happy with the car but what shocked me was after the test drive and when we returned to forecourt was the was the young sales guy drove the car back to park it. Like boy racer in a carpark. 2) Going back to the car I drove, well the sales car brought me some totals with warranty and GardX figures and they seem higher than expected. They would not let me take the printed totals yet they let me take a picture of it. Seemed petty ?? 3) was in a rush so I left. decided to phone the warranty line as they had given me literature and waited 30 mins before they answered. seemed excessively long. 4) Decided to call big motoring world regarding the car even after the slating of negative reviews as the car did drive fine. Explained that I wanted to get AA to come and inspect the car fully at my cost to give it the all car as I worked out a 3 year old car didn't need warranty hence saving £3k. Big motoring wanted a £500.00 non refundable deposit for my mechanic to look at the car and if car was fine they WOULD NOT refund me my money. what a bunch of cowboys as every other dealer i have spoken to welcomed my own mechanic inspecting the vehicle without a deposit. Must state my mechanic would have been a full AA inspection at my cost. I promptly decided not to buy anything from these guys as the ONLY reason anyone would put so many conditions for someone giving you MONEY to buy a car, is if you are knowingly selling cars that have issues.

DO NOT BUY you are treated like royalty on purchase and then when something goes wrong they don’t want to know. 6 days in from purchasing BMW 7 and brake change required. Cost £572. Won’t pay under warranty for the repair as wear and tear - 6 days in!!!! 6 weeks and still no nearer to being resolved. Have been offered £180 towards cost of repair. Still fighting with them now daily and calls at 20 mins on hold times toing and froing from dept to dept. Warranty is not worth the paper is written on Requested to give car back and said no as it’s been over 30 days. Yes - due to their incompetence!

If you are reading this the review is 0 not 1!!:) Please do yourself a favour and DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM.We did that mistake 3 weeks ago.we bought 5 year old car-£12000 - 3 days later-engine light comes up. Please read reviews carefully-all 5 stars are from their employees and 1 star a real situations.Diagnosis showed they delated all data and errors that car have-surprisingly right?! Now we are dealing with their customer service who are dealing with everything veeeeery slowly to reach 1 months guarantee. This is a pure scam.We will be returning a car and suing them for inconvenience they caused us and selling broken cars. Also, everything looks nice and professional from outside but if you are educated human have a look at the details and staff and you will now straightaway what they are up to. We were desperate and unfortunately failed on this. Also, Big Motoring world -Please don't reply on this as there is no need to pretend professional.Thank you in advance.

Definitely do not buy a car, big motoring sells broken cars, you buy it without realizing it, it will be too late after you buy it, take someone who knows cars with you and look at the history of the car, if there is a problem in the past, it means there is always a problem and even if you call within 14 hours, they will not accept the car, so be careful when buying it from big motoring. You may not have the chance to take them back because they are the third party you bought them too late. Look at the underside of the car and you will see something there. If there is a yellow saddle, it means the car has definitely not been serviced. don't buy car you we'll do bigger mistakes your live

Had to make a formal complaint about Sales manager, Zac, at the Wimbledon branch [He refused to give me his surname and said it was due to data protection so only know him as Zac]. His conduct was not only unprofessional but also deeply disrespectful, and it has left me extremely dissatisfied with my experience I called Big Motoring World Wimbledon to address an error in my car order made the previous day. To my dismay, Zac's attitude was dismissive and rude . When I explained that I had an exam and didn't anticipate having to deal with such issues, he questioned why I had come in at all the day before my exam, rather than acknowledging the inconvenience caused by Big Motoring World's mistake. Zac repeatedly stated that he was tired and asked what I wanted to do as if I were inconveniencing him. His manner was condescending and unhelpful, which only exacerbated the situation. While he did offer a cursory apology for the initial error, his subsequent behavior remained rude and unprofessional and repeatedly stating he deals with over 700 sales as if this was an excuse. The final straw came when Zac's attitude was so unbearable that I expressed my willingness to forfeit my £500 deposit just to avoid dealing with him any further. This is completely unacceptable customer service and reflects poorly on Big Motoring World as a whole. When I asked for the complaints information he said it's in your emails and walk off. I had to repeatedly ask before he gave it to me. When I asked for the manager he said the manger is not in today. I asked for the managers name, he said Google it. I asked a girl from the finance team to get a manager. I am deeply disappointed with the way I was treated by Zac

Worst experience ever. Sold my wife a car that was not fit for purpose. Door locks didn't work Key didn't fit the door Drivers front door a different colour to the rest of the car as well as the drivers inner sill the front bumper and the A pillars. Seats didn't lock in place and folded on you when driving. Clutch was screaming when pressed in. The first day driving the wipers didn't have blades left on the wipers and we had to replace them immediately due to heavy rain this was missed on the mot. As well as a faulty seat Tyre pressure fault even after setting the pressures to the right specification. The car was over due a service we were told " it was one of the few that slipped though the net " they booked the car in the following Sunday for it's oil change while in the technician noticed the clutch issue and reported it ,and was unable to diagnose anything else as it wasn't booked in for it. this was withheld information to us a few days after we reported the same issues, Imagine knowingly sending a defective vehicle out at the risk of imminent failure? Absolutely disgusting service Took the car back within the 14 days only to be told that the refund would only be given on the grounds "By accepting this refund you are confirming that no further claims shall be brought against Big Motoring World or any of its associates in respect of this matter." So you BIG MOTORING WORLD Have left me almost -£2000 in deposit and fees And won't accept responsibility for it So it's off to my legal team it is then ........ Personally anyone reading this AVOID AT ALL COSTS I would in my professional opinion I would describe the car as a unrecorded accident damaged Irish import with faults missed on the preparation and MOT. I didn't want to write this negative review but you leave me no choice. You have put me and my wife off ever using a used car supermarket ever again If I could give zero stars I would.

We popped in to have a look at some cars expecting like lots of others to be able to have a walk around although we did know what make and model we were interested in. Had to give details as soon as we entered and was assigned 2 people to follow us around. They were lovely however when it came to after the test drive and I agreed to have a look at some finance options it felt like it changed, the offers were an absolute rip off I told them multiple times I wouldn't want my finance over 5 years the first quote added up to over £17,000 odd pounds over the 5 year term for an £11,700 car with a part exchange against it ???????? eventually got them down to something more acceptable after lots of back and forth and the manager coming out twice as I kept saying no. Then I asked if I could take the figures home to have a chat and a think about it but they said no I wasn't allowed to take the piece of paper with me and wanted me to sign and drive away in the car there and then which I didn't want to do I kept repeatedly saying I didn't want to rush into anything but it fell on deaf ears over and over again. They also still had my keys from when they gave me a part exchange offer which was absolutely abysmal aswell felt like we were being held hostage! I've never bought a car in that way before and never ever felt so rushed and pressured it was a horrible experience even if they had my dream car there I would never return never known anything like it. They must lose so many sales selling like this. They must hope stupid gullible people will come in and over pay on their terrible finance deals and unnecessary added extras. Also £1,035 for one years warranty???? It wasn't until we left the show room I had chance to work out all the figures of what they were trying to charge me I couldn't believe it absolute scam artists!!!

As a former sales person these people are nothing but hyenas, thieves, dishonourable people Enquired about a car, went, saw it all good until then I specifically said that I have my own finance agreement, they didn’t like it, repeatedly said it’s better if you do it through their own, despite being higher APR so 9.9% vs 12.9% their, they all say is better because some stupid excuse, they put a fake act like they are highly regulated will repeat that they are FCA regulated and so to make you believe that they are actually legit and not lying thieves. (Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me) Problems arise: guy talking over me at all times, not letting me say anything, interrupting me mid-sentence without even apologising when I specify that I do not want, any Gardshit or Protection or god knows what stupid thing they said YOU DONT UNDERSTAND; LET ME EXPLAIN IT TO YOU AGAIN I had to accept it so we can move to next stage otherwise I would be there all day, I clearly said I have no intention on buying their add-on, FCA doesn’t encourage force sale, if you are so FCA regulated, Why you force people into buying he then said just sign here, it doesn’t matter what it is just sign, word by word said that, let me see what I am signing, I said he said oh just that you are happy with the car purchase, Me: fine let me sign without checking, checked later as I got home, signed that I am happy that my car has been previously used as a rental after specifically specified that I do not want my car to be more than 1 owner as advertised and they promised me that it’s just 1 owner, now you know how rentals are treated. My fault for believing a used car sales person and not verifying before buying I would say if you really have to buy a car from here, be extra assertive, or preferably a lawyer or these people will eat you alive, lie about car condition, history, ask you to sign without reading, beware they are highly trained to deceive and lie you, they know all the tactics they are, one is to disappear from the desk for as many times as possible to make you feel tired and impatient, this way you are more agreabile, and not paying much attention, they will use the excuse that they just need to speak with a manager to give you a good deal and they come back late because always the manager was busy, by that time you getting impatient and you wanna go home, then they ask you to sign stuff In hopes you don’t check, which they fail to disclose, and because you are tired you don’t realise you are being ripped or BEWARE READ CAREFULLY before signing anything, otherwise you will end up like me Then horror continues, I found out there has been an outstanding recall regarding the vehicle meaning it could of had major issue and no one would of known

bought a car in March 2024. Nothing but endless trouble and big motoring world seem to be good at hiding from problems after the sales complete. Tyre pressure light came on 10 mins after leaving the showroom. Returned the car had to book it in (a month later). Engine management light then come on within 3 weeks. LED headlights faulty in which I was told before taking the car it was an easy bulb change and to be later told by a garage when I went to change that only KIA can change it they are bespoke to the car. 100s of pound. They were happy to book the car in but couldn’t do it until a month later then of course couldn’t find anything major faulty and suggested it go to KIA under manufacture warranty. KIA insisting that has to be paid for when I arrived if not covered. A trip back to big motoring world to be told they would book it in and cover the costs with KIA but in the meantime rest assured the car is fine …. Tyre pressure is fine it’s just a fault, not understanding with the light been on if something did happen to my tyres I wouldn’t know because the lights always on which could cause significant harm to myself and young children. It’s gone in to KIA today who have been great and sympathised with my situation but explained it won’t all be covered under warranty. They are happy to assist with what’s under warranty (if anything is) but the extra things will cost and when they have tried to contact big motoring world the email they have provided bounces back. Also they’ve found a major recall on KIAS so told me they need my car for 5 days and they can’t provide a curtesy as it was big motoring world who booked it (of course big motoring world can’t help me with this either and until big motoring world have paid I won’t get the car released to me! I have had to HIRE a car and of course the leeds branch do not return calls. I am on day 53 my car finance complaint and day 80 since I first complained to big motoring world in which I said from the start if it can’t be fixed it will be a rejection and refund. Black horse (finance) have supported me very well and as the car is still not fixed and I have given them an attempt to fix it and notify them I have now just rejected the car under the 30 day consumer right act 2015. I will also be having to claim compensation for subsequential loss - wasted fuel, work time, phone calls, hiring a vehicle to get my young children about. My advice would be to read the reviews properly & pay more for a dealership who care when you leave the show room too.
