The WORST customer service I've ever had. I placed an order on 4/23 for around $200 worth of items. It was estimated to deliver on 4/28 (with a $50 delivery fee mind you). I tracked my order # provided in the confirmation email, it said no order found. I called for 3 days! Couldn't get ahold of anyone. Finally I reached a representative, the rudest person ever and they told me that there was something wrong and it wasn't placed. NO ONE contacted me about this but they sure took the money out of my account. I then after getting disconnected 3 times and 2 days later finally got a person on the phone to redo the order and estimate me a delivery date of 5/13. I reluctantly did this & he refunded the delivery fee (he was kind). 5/13 came and went and NO ONE contacted me for delivery. I finally got ahold of someone today to see what was going on after 2 days of them "not being available due to large call volumes" and stayed on hold 40 min to be told the system was having issues and that my stuff wasn't coming until June from what she could see. I canceled my order and fingers crossed will get my return funds. I AM SO DONE with IKEA. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I am okay with waiting longer, or being told a date and not getting it right away (especially w/ all thats going on in the world) but taking my funds and then not even contacting me about my order not being placed and then no one contacting me to say it was going to be over a month late. NOT OKAY. I will never order online IKEA again. EVER.

Just to echo what others are saying. Ordered a bed frame on 4/15/20. Received a confirmation email with an estimated delivery date of 5/10/20. I called on 5/6/20 to confirm delivery. After being disconnected 6 times I finally spoke to a person who told me that the shipping company would call me the day before with a 4 hour delivery timeframe. Of course, no call, no delivery. I have been trying to call every day since and there is just the recording saying that they are currently experiencing a high volume of calls and can't answer. You can't even talk to a person anymore. I tried to see if I could cancel my order on their website and lo and behold when I put my order number in the "track order" box it says "Sorry, we can't find your order". So at this point, they have charged me $472 and not delivered any product or even have a record of my order. I'm going to call my credit card to dispute the charges. This is ridiculous and illegal. I understand that COVID-19 is slowing things down, but they shouldn't be taking orders and charging people if they are unable to fulfill the orders. I will never shop here again, even after this pandemic is over. This is just bad business all around. I won't be surprised if they go out of business very soon.

ORDER made the 21st of March . The order was supposed to be delivered on the 3rd of April and the day before the delivery everything was fine. I received the email and the sms. The day of the delivery as well I received a message with the hour slot.. but one hour before the hour slot ended I received an email saying it was rescheduled for the 17 of May. On the 15th of April I received another mail saying it was ( AGAIN) rescheduled for the 18th of April. So the 18th I was waiting again... with no delivery. Since the 18/04 there was no updates about my order. On the 1/05 I’ve talked to webchat customer service and the agent said me she was going to pass my case to the manager and that I would be received an email in few hours with the reschedule date between 2-7 days. This didn’t happened. So on the 4/5 I’ve talked again with another person from the webchat customer service to understand what was going on. SHE RESCHEDULED ME FOR the 12/05.... The 12th morning I received a text message with the tracking and saying the delivery slot would be 8.15 - 12.15 . But the tracking was showing an order number that was not mine. AGAIN, I didn’t receive anything. 12/05 I tried to talk with the customer service several times and after several times of trying and several pages saying that YOU WERE CLOSED ( at 1 pm of tuesday?) I got in touch through webchat to the customer service. She cancelled my order and she rescheduled me for the 25th of MAY ( AGAIN) and she send me and email just with the distribution note with no mention of “replacement of the old order” and neither was attached my old invoice of the payment. What surprise me most was that also the amount of the payment was different . No delivery expenses and prices of items different So ? I didn’t receive any refund about this difference in price ... and this is NOT PROFESSIONAL . Tried again today to contact someone to discuss all my situation and this additional problem an no call center, no webchat. I AM DISGUSTED OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AS WELL HOW YOU HANDLE THE DELIVERIES. This is not how a serious company works and treats his clients. LOST A CLIENT FOREVER. And GIVE MY MONEY BACK !

Ikea has horrible customer service. I ordered a piece online a while back and it arrived broken. It took forever to get in touch with customer service and was a lot of work. Finally I did after a lot of effort and was refunded the money. Fast forward to now, I need a few offices full of furniture and wish I could trust them enough to order online but I can't. There is no curbside service available in my area either, Baltimore. With the covid-19 lockdown sham the stores aren't open. I don't mind buying from Ikea but I can't trust their online, if something is wrong with your order you are out of luck. DON'T BUY online from Ikea, if you can't get it from the store shop some other place.

Worst customer service EVER!!! Never in my life experienced something this horrible when it comes to online ordering. Even my WORST experience in the past is better than this one with IKEA!! I placed an order on April 22nd, was charged IMMEDIATELY! Never received any type of confirmation. Had a delivery date of May 13th(today) and NOTHING!! I called customer service atleast 5 times since I placed the order wondering why I haven't had any updates and they have NO answers! They don't care. They don't seem to know what they are talking about. Everywhere else has delivered just fine during covid. Some places even quicker than normal actually. So for IKEA to be taking a Month or more on orders is TERRIBLE! And then your customer service reps have the audacity to say I should wait 7 MORE business days?! Are you insane?!! STOP charging people! Stop taking orders!!!! Find a way to have more customer service reps(THEY CAN WORK FROM HOME LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!). I will NEVER Order from IKEA again and believe me I will tell everyone I know not to order from them! I'm calling my bank to give me my money back! Disgusting customer service!!

Pathetically poor customer service response to the COVID crisis. There is, in fact, no customer service available. An important addition to an accurate characterization of IKEA's corporate culture and image.

Extremely disappointed at IKEA . COVID 19 or NOT its not normal that 1 month and 3 days later I still have no received anything !! shame on you IKEA .. . shame on you!! Hire a shipping a company to help you !!!! and stop charging me FULL price for shipping when you obviously can't handle it

On 4/25/2020 I placed an order for a table top and received an emailed a confirmation on 4/26/2020 that delivery would be on 5/9/2020. On 4/26/2020 my card was charged for the product. On Saturday, May 9th the product was not delivered so I contacted Ikea about when they thought it would be delivered. I spoke to a person that said I need to speak to the resolution department and to call back on Monday, 5/11. From 5/11/2020 there has only been a reordered message that they are receiving too many calls and are no longer taking calls. I have ordered from Ikea in the past and had items delivered and the process went well. I understand that the delivery may take longer, which is fine with me. However, not being able to email or speak to a person to make sure that the order is not simply lost is not acceptable. I am going to try to cancel the order. It's unfortunate that Ikea has not kept up with their IT capabilities, allowing their staff to work from home to manage orders, delivery scheduling and keeping the clients order status updated. The technology is available but apparently their employees and clients are not important enough to them to expand their capabilities.

Order placed early April 2020 and IKEA charged my credit card immediately. I could see that it wasn't being processed as the weeks rolled by. NO customer service to answer calls or email. A couple of items are no longer available. My credit card company had to get involved in order to get a refund. The very least they could do is NOT charge a person's card when they don't know when or if products will ever ship. ALL of the other retailers I've been ordering from during covid (and before) have been doing fine fulfilling orders and charging appropriately, even if it does take longer.

To repeat what others have written - great store if you can go in person, but the online experience has been the worst I've ever had. I ordered something on 4/16. I have been promised 2 delivery dates and then promptly ghosted. I'm still sitting here, out $200 with a mess of books all over my house and still no bookshelves or delivery window. And no one will answer the phone or email.

This was my first and LAST time ever ordering something from Ikea! Ikea customer service is just a pre-recorded voice of a man that makes it impossible to talk to a real person. I was suppose to get my order two weeks ago and I am still waiting. I haven't been given an update on my delivery and have no idea when it will come now.

Just to echo the other reviewers. Placed an order on April 20th. IKEA happily charged my card (seriously who does this before shipping) and sent me a delivery date estimate or May 2nd. May 1st, I get a call from the delivery service confirming delivery. It never comes. I call IKEA customer service and they tell me that my local store was closed and it would be delayed but no worries - IKEA would text or call me the next day. It's been almost a week, and nothing. And IKEA won't even answer phones at this point. You just get a message that says they are too busy and it disconnects. Today not even the automated voice prompts are working. Is this company still in business? I completely understand delays and other issues with COVID, but c'mon IKEA, this is ridiculous. I am currently out $900 with nothing to show for until IKEA decides to deliver my product. I'm not even sure what they are doing is legal at this point.

impossible to contact this company. Stores are closed due to COVID19. Do not buy at IKEA right now. They are not responsive. I’ve been trying to reach them out for 3 days now. Their “support” is not supportive. You can’t speak to nobody. There no email or any other form of contact with this company. I’m about to miss a day of work because I have no idea what is the time frame that my furniture is supposed to arrive. Tomorrow I will update if they bring me my furniture. Hopefully they will. It’s a 100 bucks what I paid for delivery!

1. waited for a supposed express order for more than 3 weeks. 2. order did not arrive despite Ikea sending me a message on the supposed delivery day that it would arrive between 10 and 14.00. 3. spent over 1 hour on the helpline 4. was told that the delivery company had made a mistake and delivery wasn't going to happen for another 5 days. 5. was not offered any type of compensation, apology, earlier delivery 6. was told I would be called back by Ikea - did not happen. 7. was told I would get confirmation of new delivery date. Did not happen. 8.Got an email with an order confirmation from 4 weeks ago - highly confusing. 9. 2 of the items had already been cancelled and Ikea sent me an email offering a refund. They managed to refund me for only 1 third of what they owed me. When I told the customer service agent, she said they had made mistake and she would correct it and I would be refunded immediately - did not happen. Worst customer service. Worst delivery.

I placed an order 4 weeks ago....not a large item but I still have NOT received my purchase but Ikea charged my credit card the minute I made the on line purchase. I have tried calling numerous times....on hold for up to 4.5 hours. Disconnected a few times and other time I became frustrated. I am presently on hold AGAIN for the last 3 hours! No on line chat available and even if it was it is a joke. I will be contacting my credit card company next.

IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A HOLD OF! Ikea was really quick on taking out the $1,440, but now we are on the day that the delivery was supposed to come and we have received ZERO notice that it was even on its way. I get it, its a "rough estimate" on delivery. But to keep us completely in the dark on our purchase, that we spent a lot on, is completely uncalled for. Ikea, you just need to supply your customers with more detailed information. There are A LOT of other companies that supply furniture with no problems and always supply the customer with confidence that they are working hard to get our purchases to us.

What a terrible way to treat your loyal customers... I’m number 81 in the queue at the moment waiting to see where my paid goods are and why I wasn’t notified that they would be delayed... customer service is dreadful .... lost me as a customer.

I might as well add to the list of one star reviews that we all undoubtedly hope could be zero stars. Placed on online order April 27th, received email confirmation right away and my card was charged the full price - approx. $405 CAD. I don't even mind that the estimated date of arrival at my pick up point is May 5 (tomorrow), and the order tracking hasn't budged from the first step of "Preparing Order", that's okay I don't mind waiting a while longer considering the current state of the world. The thing that infuriates me is that my credit card was charged the full price for the THREE items I ordered plus shipping and taxes, but the order tracking for my order number is only showing TWO of the items I ordered AND PAID FOR with a price of $213. Even that wouldn't be so bad if it was at all even remotely possible to get a hold of customer support. Waiting on hold for over an hour, online chat doesn't work, no email address on the web site... Like many others have said in these reviews, I too wish I had come across how criminally poor Ikea's customer service is before ordering, and I would not have ordered from these crooks. Yes the worldwide pandemic is making business challenging for everyone, why do all the other big box stores seem to have no issue with navigating this dilemma and providing adequate service to their customers? #BOYCOTTIKEA

May 4th 2020 I have ordered a kitchen island. The delivery day confirmed by email was today. I had to wait outside for hours since there is no signal in my basement in case they called. The item was not received, neither they called to inform about the delay. I try to send an email but it says that the email service is not available. I tried to contact them by chat as suggested on their website, but no operator was available. I then called. The called dropped 3 times until I was able to speak to someone after 55 minutes waiting. He said that maybe there was an issue...maybe the payment didn't go through? He asked me... (I had to check and it did) Maybe the item was not delivered...? He asked ME...again. Then he told me to contact Ikea via email, I told him that the service is not available. He then, suggested me to contact IKEA via chat... I asked him if I have called IKEA customer service... and he said...YES! I said I wanted to cancel the order, he said he needed to transfer me because unfortunately he couldn't help with that...(me: ONLY???) So he transferred me just to have the call dropped after another 30mins waiting. THANK YOU IKEA. I understand the delay because of the pandemic but to take my money that was fast though!! The lack of communication and the impossibility to reach out for help and support is unacceptable.

We ordered couches on April 2nd and were given a delivery date of April 17th. Unfortunately, the couches did not come that day, and I was not notified that there would be a delay. IKEA did not tell me that they would be delayed nor have they given me a new delivery date. I sent an email to them and only then did they reply that the delivery was delayed, and it would be shipped by or before May 1st. It is now May 4th and I have not received my order, and I haven’t had any additional communication from IKEA about when the order will potentially arrive. I’ve tried to call, but after being on hold for a couple minutes the line cuts you off and issues a busy signal. When I want to send an email it only says “why are you cancelling the order”, and “the delivery fee in non refundable”. I do not wish to cancel the order (yet), but I would like some communication as to when I will receive the items that I’ve purchased. I also do not want to forfeit a delivery fee for items that were never delivered (at this point, I feel as though IKEA should refund the delivery fee regardless). With the coronavirus situation, I completely understand that deliveries may be delayed, but the lack of communication is extremely rude at this point. This will most likely be my last time ordering from IKEA delivery and it’s making me question whether i still want to spend my money at this store.
