ZERO -ZERO Stars. Further to our review 2 months ago and attached below, we received our order finally on the 10th April only to find damage to the mattress and Head board. Many phone calls, emails and attempts to get any sense from Bensons Customer services, we are still awaiting a response now into early July of when our bed will be replaced. Failed deliveries and damaged goods at a cost of £3186.00, they thought it a gift to offer me £150.00 in compensation to keep the damaged items. Please re-read our post below and AVOID this COWBOY COMPANY (BENSON'S FOR BEDS) at all costs.. Paul Holden "Purchased an i-Gel Alexus bed with Otterman base , headboard and bedding on 9th March at a cost of £3186.00 and given a delivery date of 02nd April between 07.00 and 18.00pm and we would get a delivery slot morning or afternoon confirmed a few days before. We advised them of tight access and a small van would be needed and also to call 1 hour before so we could ensure the lane was clear and gates opened ready due to rural location . On Friday 30th March we received a text informing us that the bed was being delivered on Tuesday 02nd April between 07.00am and 1.00pm and my wife booked the morning off work and said she would be in by 2.00pm. Tuesday morning came and went with no contact from anyone and no delivery so we waited until 1.30pm and started chasing where the delivery was. Tried calling customer services to be held on hold for 45 minutes + before hanging up and then called Burnley store to be fobbed off with all sorts of lies and excuses. I then called their Distribution centre to be given more lies and excuses from a staff member including that they were not able to contact their delivery staff and that most vans were running a couple of hours late. She must have had a crystal ball to know that if the delivery drivers were uncontactable!! We decided to wait for the delivery to appear throughout the afternoon or to get a call of apology or other from the driver, but nothing until 3 minutes to six to say they were coming with our bed. We asked him about his vehicle for the access, only to be told that they had a large lorry which could not get up our lane (single windy, bumpy track for quarter of a mile) so we had to have the delivery cancelled for the day. Next day we heard nothing from Bensons so I started chasing at 11.00am to find out what was happening to be finally told after 2 hours and numerous calls to departments that we had refused delivery and a re-delivery could be attempted in about 10 days time. At this I lost my temper and told them to cancel the order and refund me to which the snotty little bas...d said okay but we will be taking 20% of the value because you have refused delivery and cancelled the order. They absolutely had no care or respect that to wait for another delivery slot meant that we would have to sleep on the floor because we had already disposed of our old bed and they would not bring forward the delivery. They do not have any concern that they breach their own contracts, steal your money when you cancel and have no regard for legal intervention (we consulted Citizens advice in between) and blatantly laugh at the amount of bad reviews of their company. We have reluctantly had to arrange a re-delivery rather than lose almost £640 for absolutely nothing and now have to sleep on the floor for 6 days. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! it is run and operated by thieves, liars and cheats." 1 Posted 2 months ago

£1700 and after 3 night we sleep in holes. Emailed them but no answer chesterfield store say it’s nothing to do with them. So waited 40 nights then applied for a exchange as now very uncomfortable 🥵 but nothing from the email we sent and the chesterfield store called us saying no exchange. So all in all the 40 night exchange is bull sh#t SO SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME STAY AWAY I WILL KEEP POSTING THIS

Last year purchased a Hip Hop bed frame from Bensons and thought it pretty good, so thought I'd buy another for my daughter......very long delivery, but was advised that at the time of purchase. During the un packing I received a very unpleasant splinter to my hand from one of the veneered side panels. Upon inspection I noticed that these long rails were bowed which had caused the veneer to split, making the intended smooth bed edge (just where the calves and back of thighs would come into contact) into a totally unfit-for-purpose element of a bed. Posted off photographs showing the problem and subsequently had a productive conversation with a Bensons Beds representative where I agreed to retain the bed as delivered and Bensons would replace the offending side rails. I made a temporary fix to avoid my daughter being injured and awaited delivery of rails. After weeks of waiting, just when I was expecting delivery, I received a call from another representative wishing to re-discuss the issue. I pointed out that I had agreed to a 'fix' that was very advantageous to Bensons (i.e. two replacement rails as opposed to a full return of the whole unboxed bed frame) and if they wished not to honour this agreement they could active a full return. I have heard nothing since six weeks on. They are still selling this bed frame now....if it arrives like mine it is dangerously unfit for purpose...be aware.

Purchased a divan bed in March , arrived in April damaged. Trying to get through to this company , is time consuming and argumentative staff.. new bed was re ordered , I am now 9 weeks in from the new bed supposedly being replaced. I telephoned again to speak with bensons , they then told me the warehouse have not received the replacement. Utter chaos this company and frustrating. Now I have told them to come and collect the bed and want a refund: if no call I will be driving to the local branch where the eager assistants were keen to take my order and throw the bed in the store on a busy Sunday

Ordered a sliding wardrobe set from Bensons For Beds in Crawley. Delayed delivery to prepare rooms. The product was massively defective - even the delivery driver noted that one of the packages had been torn open and that 'they were loaded on the truck like that'. Set of drawers - back panels cracked and broken, corners of top frayed, sliding doors - corners wet and chipped, bottom of doors frayed. It honestly looked like a second hand version - was stunned by how bad it was. Called Bensons customer service an hour after delivery submitting photos - promised a callback at 4pm that day - no callback received. Wrote an email that night and called again the next day and left contact details on automated system. They called back in the middle of work meeting so I asked could they instead call me at 3pm - response 'No we don't do that'. So spent 30 minutes giving all the details again of the damage and asked for a refund. Rep stated would arrange refund through store and quality team would call me in next couple of days. Waited two days but no call so called the store in Crawley - they stated they received email from customer service but it was replacement of damaged parts not refund and would take 6-8 weeks. Refused and stated that not prepared to wait - they offered of small amount of compensation but I had no faith at this point and asked for refund to be processed. Assistant manager told me have to wait until after weekend to arrange collection and they would not process refund until collection. Sent a full complaint email this morning. Shocking product, shocking customer response and honestly its not even cheap so no excuse........extremely poor experience.

After experiencing untold problems with my delivery (faulty goods/not all items delivered at outset etc.) and attempting to get through to customer services, I finally gave up on ever receiving the quality goods I expected in December 2018. Subsequently, after exasperating phone calls to Bensons, I sent in photographs of the faulty goods along with screenshots of customer services telephone waiting time - nearly 2 hours. Eventually, I heard from customer services on 3rd May 2019, with an offer of an allowance for faulty goods and gesture of goodwill. However, I am unsure if I will ever receive the refund offered and I feel Bensons are purely delaying resolving the issue for me, Despite sending several emails to try to resolve this situation, I have not heard back from Bensons. This evening, I have been trying to get through to their customer services department, however have been cut off once and on hold for over 30 minutes now. I completed my initial order on-line, however I must say the sales representative in store was keen that his name was added to the order. I hope he received his commission as I never received quality goods or any gesture of goodwill as promised. Bensons please could you at least respond to my emails? I really do think it is about time this matter was resolved and you actually honoured your offers of goodwill.

I would not recommend you buying a bed from this company. Once they have your money they are not interested if you have any problems. Customer service is a nightmare to get hold of, it has taken me six weeks to manage to speak to someone. Emails and letters are not replied to. My basic problem was that the bed my parents purchased from them which was nearly £1000, was too high for them so they cannot get get in and out of it. My elderly father managed to get hold of them on delivery day to explain this to them but it took him most part of the afternoon. My parents bought this bed for their downstairs dining room because they cannot manage the stairs without difficulty. Because Bensons for beds were not interested in solving this problem, my parents have been going upstairs to Their old bed for the past six weeks with the new Bensons bed sitting in the dining room. The whole point of them buying the bed was so they could sleep downstairs. I have tried to solve the problem for them, but I also found it extremely stressful and difficult trying to get hold of anyone. I have come to the conclusion that all Bensons for beds are interested in taking your money. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life

Even my review didn’t submit properly I spent over an hour writing a bad review and it said Whoops! something went wrong. I have had the most awful experience ever with this shop and would never recommend anybody to shop there

In the middle of May 2019, My elderly parents spent nearly £1,000 on a bed to sleep on downstairs as they find their stairs very hard to negotiate. They tried a bed out in the shop, getting on and off it once. They also bought a mattress protector which we were told would be in situ on the mattress when the bed was delivered. When the bed came my parents, who are in their eighties and frail, realised it was too high for them. The measurement from floor to mattress is 27”. During the purchase process the sales person did not point out that modern mattresses are twice the depth of a traditional one. The whole point of the buying this bed was so they could sleep downstairs. So they are now at the end of June 2019 still going upstairs to sleep in their old bed. Also no mattress protector was delivered let alone put on the bed. My father rang Bensons on the same day to explain the problem with the height of the bed. He found it extremely difficult to get through to customer services and spent most of the afternoon trying to do so. My father suffers with heart problems and the stress of trying to communicate with you did not help. He was told that he had to keep the bed for 40 days as per your terms and conditions.Obviously this is not an ideal solution under the circumstances. I went to the shop where we purchased the bed and tried to ask the staff if we could change the deep mattress for a more traditional one. We were told that this was not possible because the bed bases and mattresses come together as a pair. We were not given this information when we purchased the bed. Had we been able to swap the mattresses, and my father was quite willing to pay any difference, the whole problem would have been resolved quite simply and easily. However please be warned that the bed frames and mattresses come in pairs so the whole thing has to be sent back and you have to pay either 10% of the purchase price if you are exchanging or 20% of the purchase price if you want to send all of it back. I tried ringing customer services myself ever since the arrival of the bed at the beginning of June. They are extremely hard to get hold of, most of the time you get told that you will have to wait for 30 minutes. In the end, I emailed customer services on the 11th of June after trying to get through to them on the phone over several days. I also sent a copy of my email in the post on the same day and got no reply. I finally managed today on the 26th of June to get hold of someone in customer service after one person rang me back and let the phone ring once and another person hung up on me. She listened to the problem and this was the first time but I had any contact with customer service after six weeks. I have found the whole process of trying to deal with Bensons for beds and their customer service very stressful myself. I have come to the conclusion that once Bensons for beds have taken your money, they are not interested in you. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in all my life and would suggest that you buy a bed from another shop. My elderly parents have lived for six weeks with a bed in their dining room which they cannot use and are still going up the stairs which is dangerous for them and using their old bed. Bensons for beds don’t care. ThE boxes below are wrong, communication is virtually impossible, my emails and lettI r were ignored and returns impossible unless you’re prepared to pay a lot of money, will never buy from you again.

on the 7th May me and my partner purchased a new bed and spent £1,500 expecting to get what you pay for kind of service... well.... the bed arrived 4 weeks after ordering which was absolutely great.. however in with the order we had took out the care package (This was supposed to come with a mattress protector) - this didn't arrive and we was told that if the mattress protector was not used then we would be unable to return the goods... well we then said well it hasn't arrived with the bed and neither has the bedding box and we was told we could collect the mattress protector from store by Customer Services, we then contacted store where they told us this is not possible, then two weeks later we received a phone call from store with a rubbish excuse and we was told we can now collect the protector from store...... now almost 2 months since making the order we are still waiting for the bedding box and I've also just received a call telling me it has been re ordered (WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE 3 WEEKS AGO?!) this will now apparently take another 4 weeks!!! whatever you do don't waste your time and money here, go to silent night or something! the staff at the store are lovely but don't be fooled as you will probably need customer service at some point and it isn't a nice experience!

Customer service on the phone has been shameful. Bought a Sealy Sancturary Spa Bed after testing in store. We both have back and shoulder issues. The store example was soft and supportive. The store told us this is a new design and recently arrived (So cannot have had many people testing it to change the softness). Ours was delivered 10 days ago and its like sleeping on a plank. Getting 2 or 3 hours a night and waking with pain and numbness. Both taking pain killers to get through the day. This bed does not reflect what is displayed in store and after returning to store and agreeing on a replacement, Bensons Customer Service will not do anything about it for 40 days. In pain and sleep deprived. No one seems to care. Bensons customer service were almost sniggering on the phone and telling us it's our fault. What kind of company is that?

Bought a premium bed with a pillow topper. We had bought one from Bensons ten years ago made by relyon and as it had been a fantastic bed we decided to replace it with one the same. Bensons no longer stock Relyon beds but we were assured that the one with a Bensons label on was the same quality. Unfortunately that was not the case within three months the mattress was badly sagging within six months each side had sagged so much it looked like there was someone asleep in the middle. Our other bed in ten years did not shift it did not sag. We paid £1750 for an inferior product which is just not fit for purpose. We have just had Homeserve do a report at Bensons request they said the mattress is faulty. It’s taken weeks to get to this point as emails are not answered for ten days. I would not buy anything from this company again I sent in pictures of the mattress the customer service team were just not interested obviously company policy.

0 Stars. Do not shop here, the staff in your local store will be excellent but Customer Service is absolutely disgusting. We received bed and mattress - both faulty - After 6 months of getting nowhere to resolve the issue, collection of faulty (manufacturers fault) goods was arranged and they collected goods two weeks ago - Bensons are not prepared to refund monies paid - they will throw any made up circumstance at you to withhold monies. They have no idea how to deal with customer service, they are not worth the stress and worry. Over a week to reply to messages?? - make that three weeks per response.

Ordered a mattress, firm CR4. It didn't solve my bad back, so 6 months later bought a new one. When moving the mattress bought at Benson's to replace it discovered they had sent a CR3, so not so firm and of course the wrong order. I have written 3 times to the company about this possible error (or off loading of the mattress as they don't sell this company's mattress anymore) but NO reply! 3x NO reply! Avoid this company. (I would say shop staff excellent - but management policy?).

Just to let people know if you buy any item from Bensons for Beds that comes with a free gift, if you return said item because of damage and very rude customer service staff and ask for a refund, you will be charged for these gifts so all ways remember return your free gifts, would never used this company again. Would have put no stars but there was not a box for this.

One star is given as no stars is not possible and in fairness the sales representative in the shop was fantastic.  My issues started thereafter. We paid for 2 wardrobes, 2 bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers in full in December. They were delivered several months later (a lot later then we were initially advised to expect delivery). When eventually delivered the items were damaged, of the wrong colour and had components missing.  Dealing with the customer service is exacerbating. Don't expect an email to be replied to in the time they say they will, don't expect phone calls to be returned but do expect the delayed email responses to be patronising, condescending and entirely unhelpful.  7months after paying for my order I still have a wardrobe with no door and a chest of drawers that are a completely different colour to what was ordered.  Absolutely terrible!!!!!

The worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. Spent just shy of £1400 on a bed, side drawers and chest of drawers. Arrived and the headboard was smashed to bits, one of the side drawers was fitted incorrectly so the handles won’t fit in the holes! Advised by the delivery drivers to leave the headboard in the flat as “will get replaced quicker “. 6 weeks later... nothing. Allegedly meant to be delivering new bed today even though no one contacted us to check if we would be home. No surprises here but it hasn’t arrived!!!!!!! Will be complaining to the furniture ombudsman and will highly reccomending that people avoid this company like the plague.

Worst customer services I have ever received. Bought firm mattress and bed. One of the draw was damaged on delivery and replaced after 4 weeks. The delivered mattress was not firm as the display in store. The store rep will not talk to me but that I should call customer service number. Call twice and waited for long on phone. Then request a call back twice which was never returned. I am consistently having back pain with the matress.

Worst store ever been to customer service doesnt care about you they send you to there store and when i go to the store they tell me they cant do anything and have to call customer service poor service poor employees would never buy from here the mattress i bought from them was damaged the middle and sides started poking my back caused me lots of back pain now it looks like a mountain bensons for bad backs
